Most solitaire games are basically the same and I have some that actually tells a story, this one does not. I decided to demo it because it said you would solve the mystery from clues found in your gameplay, but I found no clues. In fact, there is no story, so how would you know you found a clue. If you just like to play solitaire, this one will pass as OK, but if you are playing to solve an adventure, walk on by. No story, no clues, nothing interesting here.

I've played other Haunted Hotel games and none were even close to this storyline, which I found dark and not very interesting. The graphics were dark, not vivid detail, and the story might have been interesting if put in a different setting. I think reviewers are too quick with the 5 Star ratings and this definitely is not a ingenious game. I'd play this one if it were free but not worth any amount of money. Bring us back the good stories and gameplay and I'll be more than happy to purchase. The puzzles were simple and the HOs were old, nothing new here.

I did like this game and will probably add it to my purchase list, just not sure if it will be CE or SE. I found the puzzles to be very solvable, actually easy, which I like as I'm not a puzzle fan. The HOs were different, but still on the fence as not sure I care for them. Graphics are nicely done, story is not new but what game is not a recurring story theme. I do hope this has some length to it as I always feel ripped off when you get one that rushes into the meat of the story, and presto, it's over. Definitely not a 5 star but a pretty solid 4 star.

Help is not help as it just keeps repeating your task. Took me awhile to open the office as the knife didn't work unless you put it on the right screw. Took awhile to hide the notebook. Never could place any items on the desk and after trying everything in inventory numerous times in different locations, I quit. Frustrating and boring game....don't bother loading it.
I don't recommend this game.

Must have been started 3 or 4 years ago as everything but conversation is so ancient. Graphics are poor and muted and scenes are small, if there weren't glimmers, you would never know there was something there that you needed. In the beginning, you have to zoom in on a pile but everything was a blur except the 2 items you needed to pick up. The HOs were terrible graphics where the easiest items to find were toothpicks and needles. Help was no help as it just told you where to go but not what to do, such as the knob on the drawer couldn't just be put on the drawer, but help didn't tell you that glue was needed, means you have to try everything in your inventory til you tried the glue. Story may have been interesting but game play was so boring that I'm not interested in continuing. I had so hoped I could use one of my game coupons before they expire, but this isn't worth even loading.

I did want to like this one as the story could be interesting, but there is just too much going on. The scenes seem junkie and there are so many things to do in each scene, including finding glass fragments. The music, even turned down, was the same weird sound that starts to get on your nerves and every time you had to go to the Queen's chambers, the daughter continued to snivel. I was glad it has a great map as you have so many things to do in each scene that you are hopping all over the place and I'd never be able to remember where to go. I feel you do need the guide for this one, unless you're a genius. The HOs were different, but some were annoying because you needed to wait for the fog to move to see what was under it. This will appeal to some but just too busy for me; I'll leave the challenge to the diehards out there. I will not be buying CE or SE...good luck and have fun, but will only recommend to the advanced players.

I really like this game and really like the era this is set in. The graphics were well done, the sound was good other than the corny comments in the conversation with herself. I really enjoyed the HOs, they had added elements that made them more difficult and even though it was a list, it really wasn't as you had to do something before finding all but the couple of white text items. I am a little concerned with the length of this one as the demo seemed to take you pretty deep into the story. I do plan on getting this one, but found no need for the Guide and will wait for the SE version.
It was supposed to be a routine mission. But when a dragon attacks your plane, crash-landing in a lush valley, you're drawn into the adventure of a lifetime!

Like the past games in the series, a myth comes true and you must put the evil back in it's place. These games are always nicely done with graphics, sound, story, and tasks. There are a varied type of HO games, some more difficult than others. My issue with this one is that there are way too many puzzles, and even puzzles within puzzles, some 3 or 4 different puzzles within a puzzle. If you are a puzzle lover, you'll love this one, but if you're like me and feel they are a necessary evil, you'll dislike it. I will not buy nor will I recommend one way or the other.

I know I've played this before, must have been one that I did a preview demo for the upcoming game, I know the graphics aren't like some of the better games, but they follow the same as previous games in the series. I do think this one is slower and lamer than previous in the series, but maybe it gets better. It does have collectables and they are easy to find. One thing I do wonder about is, if you use all your shrinking potion, what happens? Do you need to start all over or are you lost in the game forever? I guess I'll have to get the game to find out, but doubt I'll get the CE version as I did not use the guide at all. HOs were regular list type and puzzles were fairly easy, nothing special here. I hope no one spoils the potion issue for you.

This has to be the slowest moving game so far this year. I kept thinking that it would get exciting soon, but didn't happen during the Demo. Yes, the graphics and music were well done, but that's all I can say about this one. It;s more like a Soap Opera and not an adventure. I will be passing on this one.
