I wanted to enjoy this game, and it started out that way. But I quickly bogged down and didn't know what to do next. other than trial and error. There are no hints that I could see. You can exit to the main screen and read what to do next in the desk drawer, but the advice is so vague that it's very unhelpful. I even tried looking at various walkthroughs and was able to make some progress. I was frustrated many times. One particular part of the game I'm still shaking my head over is an area where you find the differences. It's timed, so if you don't find them fast enough, you have to start all over. There were some obvious differences, and I clicked on them over and over but nothing happened. You have to find only certain differences. Each time I had to start all over I would click on differences that didn't work the time before and this time they did work. Go figure. There is no skip button, so if you wish to continue playing you need to keep trying until you complete a segment of the game. The progress of the game didn't seem very logical to me, so it was hard to figure out where to go or what to do. I don't recommend this game.

I enjoyed playing this game, although it was a little short. In places it was confusing, such as what to do next. But there was an excellent hint system that didn't need to be recharged, so you can use it as often as needed. I'm not familiar with the Lovecraft science fiction story this was based on, so finishing the game was interesting when I found out what happened. I thought it was a beautiful game, but the HO scenes were often hard to complete because objects were the same color as the background. There were also very tiny objects to find, and the only way I found most of them was that a hand appeared and then I could grab the object. Looking back on the game, I can see the structure a little more clearly. This was not apparent during the game, however, which was confusing at times. The other thing that took away from ease of playing is that you often had to go back to very early sites to find things that were needed, and there was no clue about where to go, just trial and error unless you use the hint button. In spite of these difficulties, I was intrigued enough to keep playing, and would definitely recommend this game.
I recommend this game!

I had a difficult time understanding this game. The directions were unclear for each step. It's mostly HO scenes, with a few mini-games, but you are supposed to learn spells and then use them to help you locate things. There is a very skimpy hint system that takes quite a while to build up again. The main reason I was so frustrated was that some of the hidden objects were so hard to find. You are penalized if you click too much to look for objects, but often there is no other way to find them. I tried using spells, but they last for such a short time and then you are back to looking for objects. I would not recommend this game.
I don't recommend this game.

I enjoyed this game at first, but soon got a little bored by all the HO scenes. There are LOTS of them! There are also mini-games, and a mystery to solve, which helped a little. Most of the HO scenes are clear and the mini-games are solvable. There is a good hint button if you get stuck. Being a history buff, I was also put off by Columbus dying and being saved by a ghost. Not horrible, just a little irritating. If you love HO scenes a lot, this game is for you. But I can't really recommend it.
I don't recommend this game.

This is a game about going back in time to solve problems. You're trying to prevent a vindictive spirit - not sure what type she is - from wreaking havoc on the present, so you have to go back and forth from present to past looking for items that you need to stop her. You get hints from papers that you find in the different areas rather than from people as in the first game. You have many jobs to do - nice long game - and finding the items you need can be a challenge. There is a great hint system. There is also a time button that takes you to different eras. When you push the time button you can also see signs to tell you where there are jobs to be done. So if you get stuck there's lots of help. I thought the game was original and enjoyed following the plot to see what happened. There was quite a bit of repetition in the game, like going to the same room to find artifacts for each time period, but each time it was a little different. I was impressed with the game, enjoyed playing it, and definitely recommend it.

This game is well-planned and has beautiful art work. It has a helpful hint button, but it is a little slow to reload. I had to use the hint button a few times during the game when I got stuck about what to do next. I'm not sure why, but I was a little bored while playing the game. Maybe it was because of going to the same places too often. Or meeting the same three people/ghosts several times. There didn't seem to be any urgency in solving the problems. You just move around to the different areas, find hidden objects, and then do the same thing over and over again. I guess I recommend the game, but mainly for the art work.

This is a very creative and unique game. There are two kinds of puzzles - jigsaw puzzle pieces scattered all over the place, and then "thinking" puzzles. Many other reviewers have talked about how much fun it is to solve the "thinking" puzzles. Usually when you solve a puzzle you get an item that you need for the next step. As you're clicking on the screen looking for jigsaw puzzle pieces you also are looking for the locations of the "thinking" puzzles. They are usually hidden in some kind of container, or in a picture on the wall, etc. Then once you find it a bubble moves out on the right side of the screen showing you pieces that you need, how many and what they look like. Once you collect all the pieces you can work to solve the puzzle. Each area of the game has 4 or 5 rooms, which you reach by either solving a puzzle to open a door, or by clicking on a doorway to open it. Items that you need are usually spread out around all the rooms. Several people were frustrated at not being able to solve the puzzles and not having a good hint system. I searched online and found a walkthrough that helped when I got stuck a few times on the puzzles. There is no skip button, so if you can't work your way through a couple of the arcade games, oh well. This is the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Not everyone is able to play fast enough to solve the arcade games, and it's not really fair to have them buy the game and then not be able to finish it. I did finish the game and loved it, but feel bad for those who wanted to finish and couldn't. I do recommend the game, but be aware that it requires some playing skill. One other glitch I found in the game: be sure to find all the jigsaw puzzle pieces before finishing all the "thinking" puzzles in an area. If you finish all the puzzles without finding all the jigsaw pieces you still move to the next area, but then you can't use the jigsaw pieces correctly.
I recommend this game!

I liked this game a lot. There were a few problems, but overall it was lots of fun to play. The museum director gets clues from a mysterious man who directs her to hidden historical treasures as well as piles of gold. The director is suspicious of this man but continues to follow his clues. Each location has several sites where you look for hidden objects. There is also a hidden geocache, which is described when you click on the geocache button. You have some tools to help you. There is the item finder, which is like a Geiger counter that glows when you get closer. There is also a hammer that you can use to break boxes and jars. A lighter helps you to burn away bushes that are hiding objects. And a brush gets rid of dust so you can see what is underneath. At times you find other items that can be used to find all the hidden objects. Once you finish a location you can go back and do a search for additional hidden objects in each of the areas. I liked the story on which the game is based, and enjoyed hunting for all the hidden objects. The reason I didn't give this game 5 stars is that some of the objects were totally impossible to find, sometimes due to a dark screen or background of the same color, and sometimes due to a very small size. There also was no hint button, and there were a few times when I just couldn't figure out what to do. I had to leave the game and check the forum for suggestions. In spite of these difficulties, I definitely enjoyed playing the game, learning what happens in the story, and would recommend it.
I recommend this game!

This game wasn't perfect, but it was lots of fun. The two main characters find themselves in different times, 1979 and 1989, on a tropical island. They have to find hidden tiles in order to activate a gate that will bring them back together. A girl on the island helps each of them in the different times. You move around the island looking for the tiles. You have to perform various tasks, and find the materials you need by assembling fragmented hidden objects. There are many rooms and caves and temples to explore, and each moves you a step closer to your goal. In between tasks you need to complete several mini-games. These are unusual games and fun to solve. The Skip button allows you to move on if you get stuck. There is also a Hint button that will help you to locate objects and tell you what to do next. In each location there are two or more areas to explore, and there is a certain amount of moving back and forth between the areas to find things you need. Another reviewer mentioned that the characters weren't very appealing to look at, kind of wooden expressions. It did appear to be a little bit old-fashioned. This was the reason for only giving it 4 stars instead of 5. I could easily overlook these things however, and really enjoyed playing this game!

I really enjoyed playing this game! I found myself playing it one afternoon and was amazed when I looked at the clock and saw that two hours had passed - it was that absorbing. It was lots of fun to go with the characters to a mysterious island. As you moved around the island you ran into fragmented hidden object scenes, lists of hidden objects, and lots of mini-games that were fun and challenging to solve. My only complaint about the game was that some of the hidden objects were very small. What I wound up doing, after finding all the obvious objects, was clicking on all the areas of the screen. This helped me find more objects. If there were still one or two to find, I used the hint button. I thought that this was part of the challenge of the game though, and didn't mind too much. At key points in the game things were explained with cartoon scenes, which helped to set the stage for the next part of the game. There is danger on the island, and besides solving the problems, the characters have to find a safe way to avoid the danger and get home. It took me about 4 hours to finish the game, and it was time well spent. I definitely recommend this game.
