Let's get farming in this unique Hidden Object farming simulator hybrid! Harvest the perfect crop, sell it at the market and search the farm for treasures!
Farmington Tales is a game that puts you to work on a farm. Farmer Floyd is trying to improve his farm in order to win a prize that will help him to pay off a bank loan. He had to take out the loan in order to pay for his wife's stay in the hospital. So you start out with three main categories, Farming, Animals, and Blueprints. Under Farming you can raise various crops, improve the soil and water, and add to the crop value. Under Animals you can buy chickens, cows, and sheep, along with animal upgrades, and under Blueprints you can add various buildings and useful farm sites. Besides these basic game steps there are several spots where you find hidden objects and earn money from them, special quests, fun interludes when you have to find animals that are lost on the farm, play mini-games where you fix the well, find buried explosives, play Sudoku, etc. Your job is to manage all of this activity so you keep things running smoothly and you don't run out of money. Every once in a while there is a report about how far you have risen in the rankings, and how far you have to go before you reach the #1 spot. It's a satisfying game that keeps you busy thinking and doing things. I've played it several times and still enjoy it very much! Highly recommended.
This is a beautiful, challenging game. I really like to try hard to figure out what to do on my own rather than using hint buttons or maps for suggestions. With this game I couldn't do that. There weren't enough clues available to help me decide what to try next. It was fun to play, even using the hints and map, but I would have loved the game if it had a few more clues to help. There is quite a bit of going back and forth looking for objects that you need. In fact, sometimes you need to return to what seemed like previously completed areas to find objects you need. I think this is a very challenging game!
I enjoyed playing this game. It's very logically laid out so that you need to do certain things at certain times in order to solve several mysteries. As you find clues, they are placed on a board so that you have an organized way to solve each case. Basically, you are on a runaway train, your children are being kept somewhere on the train, and you need to solve the mysteries in order to find your children. Each mystery involves someone who was killed on the train. You meet each person's ghost and talk to them in order to get clues. You also find many areas where you find clever HO scenes, and you need to use many tools to help you find the items and the answers. I played the game at the easiest level, so there was plenty of help when I couldn't figure out what to do next. The artwork for this game was excellent and it really added to the playing enjoyment. I really liked the logic and being able to look at the clues to solve the mysteries. The only reason I didn't give this game 5 stars was because of the dark theme. I'm very tired of the angry ghosts and evil creatures who are central to a large number of games that are available. Use all your artistic creativity to come up with a more realistic theme!
Your librarian friend wants your help as a journalist – he’s found an ancient book that is still unfinished. Can you save the world in the book before their story ends?
This excellent game kept my attention for long periods of time. I would be playing it and look up to find that a couple of hours had gone by. The game has a great story, great characters, and enough interesting things to do to keep you very busy. It has a diary to remind you of important information, and also a Hint button that recharges at a speed you select. You will need to do a little traveling back and forth within each "chapter", but it's not that far. The artwork is wonderful and contributes a lot to the story. I loved the game and highly recommend it.
I had fun playing this game. The plot concerns electricity. A man is about the be electrocuted, but he disappears in a huge flash of electricity and light. Now years later people who were there for the execution are being killed. Laura's job is to find out how to stop all this. As in most HO games, you travel to different locations, you find hidden objects, you solve mini-games, you look for tools that you need, and you try to keep track of all the tasks that are waiting to be completed. The one thing that caused problems for me in this game was all the traveling from place to place - lots of this! I did wind up using the map to travel, which made things much simpler. There is a good hint system if needed. Each location you travel to has something to do with electricity, and as you go deeper into the game, you get closer to the one who is responsible for the deaths. Kind of a dark theme, but the actual game is fun and creative. I definitely recommend it.
I played the SE version of the game. It's an amazing experience. You are taken to various settings, each one more extravagant than the ones before. The artwork is awesome and imaginative. You must collect all the pieces of the philosopher's stone, and each piece is in a different setting. Your uncle has been working with you, and now he's in trouble. Your job is to find him and help him to escape. If you run into problems, there is a hint button, along with a map which shows you where to go next. Most of the tasks are pretty typical, finding objects you can use, solving mini-games, etc. But there is a lot of creativity in how these are put together in this game. There is lots of travel between the scenes of each location, so unless you use the map, you must keep careful track of tasks waiting to be done and objects that are still needed. The Philosopher's Stone helps you solve problems in each location, and you also find new pieces to add to the stone. Each piece has a different power. I thoroughly enjoyed the game and highly recommend it.
Who is the Crimson Thief? Can Mortimer piece together the clues to finding all the stolen items? There is much more to this new mystery than meets the eye.
I'd give this game three and a half stars if that were possible. I enjoyed playing the game very much. I did have problems finding objects that I needed for the game, but the hint button was available for help when needed. The game did have a serious problem though, without which I would have rated the game 5 stars. There are a few mini-games to play, and there is no skip button. Some of the game directions were quite a challenge to figure out. Not only that, if you are unable to finish the mini-game, you can't go on with the game. I did finish the game, but several times I had to close the game down and check the inadequate forum. When that didn't work I had to search the internet for clues on how to proceed. This finally did work, but was unnecessarily difficult. A little better game design and a better forum would make a huge difference. I still recommend the game, but be prepared for some hard work!
Find the festivalgoer abducted by the gargoyles of Notre Dame and uncover the cathedral’s dark past in this reimagining of the Victor Hugo’s classic tale.
I thought this game was very well done. It has a storyline that takes you through the whole adventure. You are a detective who is brought in to help the French police. Gargoyles in Notre Dame Cathedral have suddenly come alive and are causing havoc. A young lady has been kidnapped. In trying to solve this case, you travel all over Notre Dame and Paris. You slowly find out that an evil being who was once banished has returned and is trying to take control, helped by the gargoyles. Your job is to find all the tools, items, spells, tasks, etc. that will help you get rid of this evil being. I enjoyed trying to figure everything out, especially what to do next. Several times I had to use the hint button though. At first I traveled from place to place to accomplish tasks, but it got to be so repetitious that I finally just started using the map for traveling. That improved the game a lot. I was impressed by the thinking that went into this game and enjoyed playing it. Definitely recommended.
This is a great collection of Solitaire games. They vary from easier to more difficult. There are enough games to keep you happy for a long time. The rules of each game are explained, and once you understand the terminology that is used, the rules are clear. One very interesting feature that works with all the games is that you can change the rules of the game. For instance, some of the games have only 1 deal of the cards. If you don't win the game the very first time, it's over. But you can change that to give yourself a few more, or even unlimited, deals. Once you change a game, you save it with a different name, so your collection of games keeps growing! Solitaire is what it's always been, a way to entertain yourself your a little while, not hours and hours. This is a perfect collection of solitaire games and I'm very glad I bought it!
