This Big City Adventure has 90 levels and 8 different mini games, which each appear throughout the game, in between every hidden object scene. With all those levels, this is one of the longest Big City Adventures and you do get your money's worth. You only get up to 5 skip coins for each mini game but I found that I very rarely used them, as the puzzles were fun, interesting and easy! They do get progressively more difficult as the game goes on, so if you do want to skip, best to save those coins for the last ten levels, or for a certain puzzle that you don't like so much. The facts that come up before a HOS, depicting an area of New York, were informative and interesting and the cute animals and funny little animations in them always make me smile.

It has 51 levels and 10 different mini games that appear between each hidden object scene. It only has a zoom-in area in very occasional scenes. Limited hint and skip coins. I didn't find it as much fun or as relaxing as other Big City games. It's also much shorter. I diisliked quite a few of the puzzles in this one. I would squirrel away the skips here because I knew I would need them later on when the mini games got progressively harder. The informative facts about London were the highlight for me but I was quite relieved when it ended.
This game has 69 levels and 7 different puzzles/mini games that appear throughout the game, between each hidden object scene. There are limited skip coins that you collect for the mini games and you can only have five at any one time. I found that if you don't spend your skips too soon, you'll have a safety net for later on when the mini games become more difficult. It wasn't so much of a problem in this game because overall, they were quite fun and easy, but in other Big City Adventure games, they can be a bit more tedious and you might want to skip. In each HOS there is a hidden blue area, that can be zoomed into. You will find a couple of hidden objects here. There are also limited hints in the HOS. I find that if you go into limited time mode, you can start the scenes again if need be and get more hint coins that way. I love the cute soft toys that feature throughout the scenes, no humans allowed! You'll get teddy bears piloting planes and things like that. I found it a cosy and appropiate game for winter and I love the fun facts about Vancouver too.
I recommend this game!

The Secrets of Arcelia Island
Unravel The Secrets of Arcelia Island as you, your father, and a small crew set off on this dangerous expedition!
I thought I was going to love this but I didn't. The graphics were okay, The story was decent. The gameplay was okay but not straight forward. There were few HOS and very many mini games. I like a lot of HOS, so that was never going to work. I got lost a few times. I couldn't relax while I was playing it, it kept me on edge. I wasn't that enamoured with the gameplay but it was no-one's fault, we just didn't get on. Great cut scenes and very full and satisfying ending. As cut scenes and endings go, it does give you your money's worth.
A serial killer nicknamed “the Toymaker” is wreaking havoc on a sleepy town. Can the lead detective piece together clues left at the scene and stop him before he sets his sights on her?
Very basic HOG. It's just hidden object scenes folks, no frills but with a couple of light puzzles in the HOS and some very fun, unique and interesting mini games in between the HOS. Very clean, lush graphics and creepy music. Quick charging unlimited hints and slowish skip on mini games.
There are lots of interesting scenes and they are never repeated. There are unlimited hints and a nice gentle mystery running throughout. There are some mini puzzles that you zoom in on, in HOS and mini games in between HOS but they are all doable and skippable. It felt very fast paced and linear and was mostly just hidden object scenes. I just love the uniqueness of the invisible men and women doing all manner of things, eating, drinking, sunbathing, cooking, playing musical instruments etc. But of course, everything is not as it seems...

I found the gameplay a little boring and tedious, not smooth at all. It was also too puzzley which stalled the pace of the game. The atmosphere and environmental sounds were good and there was a very fast charging hint and skip button. The bonus game was much more humorous than the main, better story and cut scenes and a smoother well paced game overall. The only problem was, being a bonus game, it was quite short! I bought this a year ago and have just replayed it. Sometimes, I enjoy the replays more. The main problem is, I'm just not keen on newish games. I bought it, like the others in the series because I thought it would be like the older mystery case files but times have changed and I either accept that and move on, or keep playing the old games. Hmmm...
Good gameplay, graphics, sound effects and story but the objects were quite difficult to find. The cut scenes and cinematics were great. Very slow hint and skip recharge. I got lost, direction wise, quite a bit, but overall, a satisfying game.
I thought the graphics, sound effects, gameplay and genre were great but it seemed really short to me. I was surprised that it ended when it did. I was disappointed.
I couldn't really fault the graphics, sound effects or gameplay but I think I was expecting something a bit more like the older games. The hint and skip buttons are very quick charging with some resemblance of the super puzzles of the older games, which was pleasing. Dramatic cut scenes and cinematics and fulfilling ending. I didn't like the compulsory zooming in of areas of interest but I'm probably just nit picking at this stage. Overall, a good game with some fast paced, smooth and user friendly gameplay, useful map features and lots of interesting little light puzzles in the HOS. I've just played it again after a year, so there's also some replayability in there.
