I had moments of enjoying this game, but don't really know what to say about it. The graphics and music/sound were good. But, the Main Title is, "The Little Mermaid" with mention of a "Purple Tide". I hardly saw or heard mention of a "Little Mermaid" throughout the game. More about a Chancellor and a King. The Chancellor appearing on occasion as a Spirit. The King about as many times as I saw the "Little Mermaid" which wasn't much. The Purple Tide, you don't learn much about that till toward the end of the game. I never quite knew what I was supposed to be doing or why. The Map, thankfully, is very helpful in letting you know where you need to be. I enjoyed the game to a point, but it is far from my favorite. I don't know whether to recommend it or not. If you enjoy Blue Tea Games "Dark Parables" way of hide and seek HOG's then you will enjoy this game. Again not my favorite "Dark Parables" game, by far.
The Bonus Game "Trusty John and Blue Beard" is very, stress on the word very, loosely based on the Main Game. It's in the Bonus Game that we learn that Blue Beard is the King of the Kikkino. The Chancellor is Trusty John and it is in the Bonus Game where we learn, for sure, who the Chancellor; Trusty John, really is. Actually I enjoyed the short Bonus game more than the Main Game which was nothing more than letting the player know who Blue Beard and Trusty John truly are.
I recommend this game!

So I'm driving along in my Pickup, with a bed of Christmas Gifts, in a near white out none the less, minding my own business, trying to get home to my family, when all of sudden my Pickup is turned into a Giant Candy Treat, by Three Witch Sisters. And so now in order to get a potion to turn my now Giant Candy Treat back into a Pickup I have to run around and Help all three sisters with one thing or another to get all the ingredients for the potion. Hey, what's up with that?
I suppose every once in a while it's a nice change of pace to play an easy game, although I found myself pressing the HINT button, a lot, since there is no Map or Guide; just a matter of not quite knowing what to do next, in some cases.
I have to admit that I found myself liking this game, although it's not what I would call a Christmas game. Oh sure, there are lots of Christmas type things throughout the game, but it really didn't feel Christmasy. It felt more like a Dark Parables fairy tale, without the Dark Parables type HOS's. Probably had a few too many HOS's, but overall I enjoyed this game.
I can recommend this game for beginners, however, if your one of those people that's always complaining about a game being too easy then you won't like this game.
I recommend this game!

I wasn't sure I was going to like this game early on, but I began to like it more and more as I played it. I hate Maps that show the game in sections, but overall the Map was helpful. Towards the end of the game you are moving around ALOT, but all that moving keeps you engaged. I don't care that the developer took a page out of the "Phantom of the Opera" and changed it up a bit; many HOG's are reworked from popular literary works; I see no disrespect here. Perhaps you will enjoy it as much as I did. If I have to say anything bad about the game it would be that some of the puzzles were way towards the EASY side.
I recommend this game!

I enjoyed the game overall; good theme and story. I've stated before that I play HOG's for relaxation and it's not that I can't solve over 90% of the puzzles in most games, but I'm not against selecting "SKIP" if it's going to take me an extended period of time to complete a certain puzzle and admittedly I'm just not good at certain puzzles, but I found the puzzles in this game to be overly easy; my opinion. With that said it is a fun game to play. I rarely use the "GUIDE" and this game was no exception, but I do use the Map, in most games, but found the map in this game to be not all that useful until toward the end of the Main Game. I can recommend this game since I did enjoy playing it, but with reservation. I guess my opinion is not the popular one. In answer to some reviews I read I had no problems finding puzzle pieces and morphing items. The graphics and sound were very good.
I recommend this game!

Good Game; Crappy Ending, in the Bonus Game! Enjoyable game; the Map is a big help, although it won't help you find all the Special Feature Items. I can recommend this game.

I really, really enjoyed Nearwood; there is not a factor of the game that I disliked, that I can think of. If you like "Fantasy" and "Animation" then you will love this game too. I can highly recommend Nearwood for everyone from Beginner to Advanced.
I recommend this game!

Grim Tales: The Wishes was much more enjoyable than Grim Tales: The Legacy. The map was much more helpful throughout the game, until the end of the game, where you must guess what to do next and in most cases have to press the HINT Button to figure out what to do next. The Bonus Game was a bit weird, but enjoyed playing it. If your an experienced player I can recommend this game, but it's not for beginners, in my opinion.
I recommend this game!

I'm feeling like an outsider here since I really didn't enjoy Grim Tales: The Legacy. I take care of Handicapped/Disabled Adults and I play HOG's for relaxation and I'm not relaxed when I'm frustrated. I'm way past the age of playing RPG's, like I used to. To me a HOG is an adventure game. For the most part I never knew what I was supposed to do next and the Map was no help, in most cases, in this regard. Way too many HOS's, so many that I found myself pressing HINT quite often, not because I couldn't find things, but when I got down to one thing left didn't feel like spending any more time looking; that's something I rarely do. Yeah, yeah, I know HOS's are the foundation of HOG's, but this one has way, way too many. Pressed HINT alot to figure out what I was supposed to do next. And Com'On Developers; if you want us to find a "Ship" then make it a "Ship" instead of a Paper Boat and don't put three or four of the same thing when I'm only supposed to find one and why oh why does there have to be something in the HOS that is blinking ON & OFF & ON & OFF & ON & OFF? I wrote this long before I finished the game, which I did; I have enough frustrations during the day without being frustrated by a game. The Bonus Chapter was way better, but then still too many HOS's. Never thought I'd hear myself say that, or write it.
I don't recommend this game.

Yes, there is a ladder that you need to find and repair; don't forget to go back and get it, you'll need it later. All that going to the past, back to the present, then to the future, and back to the present and so on made my hair hurt, but I got through it and finished the Main Game. Way too many puzzles, for me. I don't so much mind the HOS's, but way too many puzzles, for me. Some of the puzzles were easy and some in between and some just plain ridiculous. If you like a good mystery then you'll like this game.
I actually enjoyed the Bonus Game more than the Main Game; a little weird, and had to go back in time once, but it wasn't all that bad.
Yes, I guess I can recommend this game, with some reservation, but with that said, some will love it, some won't.
I recommend this game!

Another well done Dreampath HOG. How about a talking Cat that narrates almost the entire story and helps you along the way, although it's not always easy to figure out where he can help. The Cat also knows how to talk to Fish and anything else. Both the Main and Bonus game are well done; I enjoyed both. If you like stories about Princesses and Dragons you'll enjoy it too.
I recommend this game!
