I don't know about others but I really enjoyed this game. Yes, it was relatively easy but the flow was great the scenery was very nice to look at and there was actually a storyline from start to finish! <P> It's definitely a game to buy on sale or to use a free coupon on since it's not really a long game. I don't think you will be disappointed especially if you enjoyed the others in this series as I did. I can say I enjoyed this game a lot more than I have many of the games with editors choice by their names, made by the top game designers!
I absolutely loved, loved, loved this game! Let me first start off with, if you are expecting a somewhat scary game like the first few in the Witches Legacy series this is not that, if you are looking for a challenging game to really test your gray matter this is also not that. What this is, is a really fun, highly interactive, whimsical , charming and relatively easy game to play when you want to lift your spirits or just to just sit back and relax and enjoy a really fun easy colorful game! Almost everything is interactive and does something when touched even if you don't have to use the item in question. All the hidden object scenes are highly interactive as well. You have a ferret who you dress up to do certain tasks for you. She isn't used often, but I had great fun watching and listening to her while she performed her tasks, a few times she had me rolling with laughter and/or delight! The colors are bright and cheery, the only drawback for me is in some scenes they seemed to try to add light by adding a yellowish tinge which I didn't really care for but overall the graphics were great! The music changed throughout and it was quite enjoyable and fitting to each scene. I haven't had this much pure unadulterated fun playing a game ever before!! Set all your adult cares and worries aside for a few hours while you enjoy this fun, childlike, whimsical game! You'll be glad you did!
I've been so looking forward to this game, Mad Head is my top favorite game designer bar none!! That being said, sadly I can not give this game 5 stars. It's average at best. It starts out great during the demo but as soon as the demo ends and you purchase and get back to playing you are no longer in the asylum you're outside of the asylum doing the same mundane tasks you do in every other game. Nothing unique, nothing exceptional to look at, nothing creative to do, no one to interact with, I just got bored!! Things pick up a bit towards the end when you are back in the asylum but not by much. I hate the stupid puzzle where you have to trace and outline to fight the demon or shadows, it's childish and, it's also hard for older folks to do this outline due to arthritis, shaky hands or muscle pain and stiffness even if that's not the case it's still very juvenile, to me. I am enjoying the bonus game, which is a prequel of sorts. You go back in time to when the asylum was actual a gorgeous home. It's there you will find out how these shadow creatures and the lantern game to be. All and all the game was mostly entertaining and fun, if not a little too predictable and easy. It's just not up to the high standards usually set forth by Mad Head. They did Nevertales, Beyond Light Advent and The Princess of Ice games for goodness sakes! Those were all 10 star games in my opinion so I guess I'm just a little let down because this game wasn't of that caliber. I still recommend the game!

I really really wanted to be blown away by this game since it's been so long since we've gotten a game from one of my favorites Artifex Mundi, but alas I can not! The other Grim Legends were so brilliant. This one feels ... I don't know, unfinished. No technical problems, and not even any super strong complaints. I didn't care about the story, though, or the characters. There wasn't anything visually stunning, nothing awful either. I think it may have been the very dark setting that stayed throughout that got to me.
I can't complain about the art, the design or the soundtrack -- these have always been Artifex Mundi's highlights, IMO. However, the puzzles and minigames are not as challenging nor as intuitive as the first and second games, respectively; the first two Grim Legends were absolutely brilliant and fun to play, challenging and exciting, beautiful and with a really nice atmosphere. I also didn't like the child-like ruins thing you had to play to beat your opponent, it's like they think we are in kindergarten, it was so infantile!
I wish I could say this game is as good as many of Artifex Mundi's previous games but alas it is not. They have done other games that are so much better! I do recommend it because all and all it was pretty good just not their best work.
This was an absolutely wonderful, fun game! I don't know what game the negative reviewers played or maybe it's they didn't play it at all they only played the demo? This game got better and better the longer you played.
The focus here is still movie making like the first two games, but rather than visiting various movie sets, you’re swept up by magical projectors into what can only be termed alternate psychological realities. The camera rolls and a cluttered office becomes a sheik’s tent, or a break room becomes the set of Romeo and Juliet; turn it off and things revert back to normal. It’s a clever concept that allows some locations to do double duty, offering twice the graphics and twice the gameplay. I found it unique and a ton of fun!! As always the graphics were suburb, music and voice overs were very good, mini games and hidden object scenes were fun, challenging without being so hard that you become frustrated. I usually skip a lot of the mini games but I played almost everyone in this game! I highly recommend this game.
I'm so happy and excited to once again be solving mysteries with the very handsome Mr. Dupin! The game has kept me entertained and focused while I'm dealing with a horrible toothache and that's a very good thing! The game is very good and I am enjoying it but I have to say it's not as creative nor as challenging as the first 4 in the series, as a matter of fact the game is easy, really easy!! I believe I'm witnessing what I've witnessed far too many times in my relatively long life. They sacrificed knowledge and experience for younger workers who don't have as much experience or talent, but will work for far less pay. I could be wrong but I'd sure like to know what happened to the people who worked on the original ERS games because there is no doubt these are not the same people! We saw it in the last installment of Redemption Cemetery and the Telltale Heart which were both horrible and now in this game which is far better than the above, but it's nowhere near as good as their older games. Now, that being said we still have the awesome ERS graphics, music and voice overs, and the handsome Mr.Dupin! I personally like easy relaxing games sometime especially when my tooth is throbbing and I don't wish to further tax my mind or body (lol lol), but I fear the more advanced players looking for a real challenge will not find it here.
I recommend this game!

This is one of the most beautiful games I've ever played and I've played a lot!! The game play is relatively easy but there are so many places to go and things to see you may need the hint to transport you around at times. I know I did lol. This game is now on my list of the 10 all time best games I've ever played. I almost didn't buy the game because the title nor the demo did this game any justice. I'm so glad I read Sunnyglow's review ( on the CE edition) she did this game more justice than the BF or the developers. I decided to go ahead and purchase it on the buy one get one day. It turned out to be way better than all the other games I thought I wanted. I couldn't stop playing. I wish I had purchased the CE of this game that's how much I loved it. The visuals in this game were gorgeous, there was one area in particular that if I could have I would have jumped into the game and spent a day there. Beautiful rainbow colored waterfalls and adorable little critters!! If you want to know all about the in's and out's of the game ie. how many mini games, hogs etc. read Sunnyglow's review she fills you in on everything way better then I can. All I can say is buy this game!
I Just finished playing Fright and let me say I Loved it! This is the most innovative and creative use of video, interactive graphics and CGI that I have ever seen in a hidden object game. The story is compelling, the puzzles are unique and they actually extend the narrative of the game , not just find this thing put it here blah blah. Everything had a reason and every puzzle, or hidden object scene actually filled you in little by little with what had happened. They perfectly moved the story a long! A lot of thought went into the making of this game. At first I didn't think I was going to like the live actors but I really really enjoyed them. They weren't the best actors but they weren't bad either. Having them in the game made it feel a lot more like I was actually in the game with them. It truly enhanced the game for me. The music changed throughout and it was all perfect for each scene. This has to be one of the best games I've ever played due to all the factors listed above, plus I really enjoyed the story and the different characters. I wish they would make a sequel!! I experienced zero problems/glitches playing this game. If you had problems with it I suggest you replay it now that the devs. fixed all of the glitches. It's worth playing a second time!
I enjoyed this game, but I did start to get a little bored towards the end. As usual the graphics are perfect if not a wee bit darker than normal, which is something I actually prefer.
The hidden object scenes were great and interactive, the games where fun and challenging without being unnecessarily time-consuming. All and all I had fun and I would definitely recommend the game!
