This is an incredibly imaginative story and journey through book portals to rescue your daughter Alice, who disappeared through a mirror. Has a surprising twist at the end.
This story has more task oriented objects than junk pile HOS. Good powers of observation are needed to succeed in the mini puzzles, which are mostly not too difficult.
Graphics are average to very good.
The storyline is one of the better I have encountered among BFG games. Give this game a try, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
I recommend this game!

I have no idea why this game got such good reviews. Having completed this game, I can't figure out why, where, when or what the "Black Rainbow" refers to.
This game has collectible golden skulls hidden throughout the game for a special bonus (can't reveal, because I missed 2). It also tallies your achievements, such as length of time played, # clicks, # times hint used/games skipped vs solved etc
There are no junk pile HO scenes. It's mainly find items by performing tasks in your quest. The mini games range from easy to difficult.
The voiceovers are decent, but the characters talk quite a bit (in order to explain the quest and background behind the quest). Graphics are not that great.
Hint and Skip buttons are available, even in challenge mode. The compass/map teleports, which is needed, because you go back and forth through time and place.for items that you found eons ago.
This game doesn't have the pizzazz as with most BF games, and in my book is a big disappointment.
I don't recommend this game.

The devs created an entirely new legend of a far off land long ago (with influences from Greek mythology). The music is appropriate to the theme.
Graphics are excellent, with a lot of special effects to imbue the magical kingdom of Anther.
HOS are varied, with interaction, and staggered into 2-3 stages. Mini games are mostly reasonable, with only a few challenging ones.
Tasks to perform are not always intuitive, but the Hint button and teleport map will rescue you.
This is an enjoyable game, that is quite long, and transports you to a magical kingdom. I especially enjoyed the poetry, which is often not encountered in the typical HO game, and makes it a notch superior to the usual mundane dialogue and narrative seen in this game genre.
The only thing I found didn't make sense was the squeaky, weak, voice of "Torment", which I expected to be a deep baritone voice. This is a minor complaint compared to all the well done aspects of the game.
I recommend this game!

Playing this game made me feel like I was James Bond whooshing through exotic locales like Sri Lanka, Seville Spain, and Socora.
There are trivia fact cards about these exotic locales and turtles to explore.
The storyline is above average, engaging, and as believable as those encountered in the movies. The voice overs, characters, and animation are LIKE that of an adventure movie.
The HOS are varied, with many interactions to obtain the objects. Mini games are mostly easy, but not boring.
This is good old fashioned adventure game that should have broad appeal to men or women, old or young.
I recommend this game!

Having played this game to its completion, I cannot for the life of me, recall who or what the "Queen of Shadow" is.
This is a fantasy, mythical HO adventure game that takes place in a mystical past inhabited by elves, goblins, and wizards. The graphics are pretty good, but the people look so fake and computer-generated.
The detective quest is pretty straightforward, with most tasks being logical or intuitive. There is a lot of backtracking to past scenes as you progress to new scenes. You always have to go back to places visited before to retrieve items.
Mini games are not too hard, but get harder towards the end. HO scenes have the usual interactions and a few, very small, and well hidden, items tricky to find.
Despite the large file size (implying a long game), it's not a very long game. The ending is very abrupt and disappointing. You'll be left saying, "That's it?" at the end. Not satisfying at all after all the build up.
I don't recommend this game.

You play a nosy reporter, a la detective, investigating the disappearance of children in a Mexican town. The graphics are bright and colorful, with lots of flowers dotted everywhere. The story takes place during the Day of the Dead, which is an explosion of color in Mexico, unlike the black we associate with death here in the US.
The story is a bit like that TV series, Murder She Wrote, in which things are not as they appear on the surface.
This is a fun HO adventure game to play. It is a bit on the short side, but thoroughly enjoyable.
I recommend this game!

This game has beautiful graphics and pictures of Greece, which are the background for the M3 boards. Each M3 level is prefaced by interesting trivia about Greece, Greek mythology figures, history and historical figures.
The problem is that's all you get--trivia about Greece, M3, and postcard perfect pictures of Greece.
There are 200 levels to play, so this game will take a while to complete, but no screensavers.
The music is good (Greek-style, played by the harp) and not annoying.
Would be more interesting if it were interspersed by jigsaw puzzles, HO, etc, to break up the monotony.
The M3 is standard, but fairly challenging if played on timed mode. There is a shop to buy power-ups for harder boards, so save up your points when the boards are easy in the beginning--you'll need the bombs etc later on.
I recommend this game!

It's rare to come across a game that gets everything just right, but this game does it and more. The graphics, storyline, voiceovers, mini games, HOs and extras are superb.
The story takes place during WWII and you are Agent Walker and tasked with retrieving the Spear of Destiny (which looks more like an axe, but no matter), and in turn saving the fate of the Allies against the Axis of Evil.
The mini games are not too hard, but that's OK with me--more fun to solve a puzzle than be frustrated by it.
The HOS are well done, varied, with interaction, AND morphing objects (hint: objects in white mean they are in form to be taken, blue = in a different form or need interaction to retrieve).
There is an Achievements room for things like finding 3 HO in 5 seconds, defeating blah blah, etc.
There are collectibles to find in each scene, like ships, bombers, planes, tanks, figurines, army/navy/pilot uniforms. These are hard to find, being small, dark, or blended well into the scene.
As noted, mini games & HOs are replayable, BUT ability to backtrack and find collectibles after completing the scene/game is NOT available (DRATS). However, a good excuse to replay the game.
This game doesn't have the BF blog walkthrough, but not really necessary, as the Hint system is available, mini games have very good instructions/not that hard/or skip button. Most tasks are logical and not hard to figure out.The map icon is a GLOBE at bottom left corner instead of paper map.
Although the file size for game seems small/avg, this is actually a pretty long game, with lots of HOS and mini games, but doesn't sacrifice in graphic quality, animation, voiceovers, storyline, good transitions etc.
This game is a keeper and Collector quality despite being a Standard edition game. Easily a game you want to play again to absorb more details. Two thumbs up from me.
I recommend this game!

You play paranormal detective Brenda Gale tasked with finding her niece. You end up wandering through an abandoned mining town that is haunted by the Spirit of Revenge. As you come across clues, you learn the history of the town, find the missing children, and learn the motivation behind the vengeful ghost.
"Gem Fury" is not the best title for this game--makes it sound like a shoot-em gem game.
The story moves along at a good clip, and the tasks to perform are mostly logical and easy to intuit for experienced gamers. The graphics are good, but a little bit scary and might not be suitable for younger kids. The animation, voiceovers, and transitions are excellent.
All the elements of this game are well thought out, making for a great gaming experience. The HOS have a lot of interaction to make the usual more interesting. Mini puzzles are mostly easy, but enough challenge to avoid frustration.
I could have done without the scary ghost, but all other aspects of this game are excellent, especially if you like paranormal mysteries.
I recommend this game!

A fun way to escape to a farm and re-make the farm, without getting your hands dirty.
I've played the HO games from this developer, but the M3 games are more challenging and take longer to play.
This game is mainly M3, but has HO in between. There are 3 farms to build, but it's really 1 farm with 3 options for each remake of a cow shed, chicken shed, farmhouse exterior, lights, pond, windmill, gazebo, dog house, farm soil, fence, trees and hedges.
The 1st farm/chapter is the best to play and has a story behind it, newspaper clippings to read, letters that arrive in the mailbox or phone conversations. The 2nd farm to build has a little of mail, newspaper clippings and storyline. The 3rd farm to build has no story at all. You need to go to OPTIONS button and click on 3rd farm to start building.
There are no power ups to purchase. The more points earned, the more money you have to buy items to rebuild the farm. You can play in Timed mode (more points earned) or Relaxed (no timer), and you can change the mode at any time during the game, even during the middle of a M3 board you are playing.
The farms built can be saved as a screensaver, and the screensaver has animated characters moving about with the characters speaking in cloud bubbles.
There's even an Achievements/Trophies room for things like completing the 1st, 2nd, 3rd farms, helping so-and-so, etc.
The characters and the graphics are cute. You get to name the dog, and the characters will refer to the dog with the name you gave or the character will address you with name you provided like you're right there with them.
It's a cute, entertaining, and fun game to play. It gets a bit repetitive after the 2nd farm, but overall, a great buy, especially for kids, or young-at-heart adults.
I recommend this game!
