This is the first League of Light game and also the first game that I have played from Mariaglorum, a studio that I was previously unfamiliar with, and I am very impressed.
There is a Lord of the Rings vibe with a touch of gothic horror. Graphics are very impressive and music is catchy. Puzzles and HOS' are well designed and I like the achievement system.
I am looking forward to playing the other installments. This series has alot of potential.
I've played all other games in the Dark Tales series and I like most of them. I thought however this entry was nearer to the bottom of the list. Its not bad, just not great. Owing the story, we don't have the same macabre gothic creepiness that we've come to love from the other ERS games. At least Dupin isn't quite as annoying as usual but still manages to boss you around alot.
I have played just about all of the games in the Dark Tales series and this game is typically solid. If you like the other games you'll like this one. Its not outstanding nor bad in any category. Graphics are hand drawn and undetailed but do the job. Music is rehashed from other games in the series and is fine. The plot is typically only very loosely adapted from Poe's story. Dupin once again plays the role of Captain obvious, saying the most pointless things.
ERS did a good job with this game. Good graphics and music. Nice story which combines Black Cat with Poe's other story, The Cask of Amontillado. Puzzles and minigames are fine. One of the better games in the Dark Tales series.
A murderous figure in a red mask haunts the streets of a small French town, and the mayor needs your help to track him down. But you soon discover that the mysterious Red Masque might not be the real criminal…
The the story is different from Poe's story but is interesting nonetheless. The story of the bonus chapter is actually pretty good. Dupin resembles the detective from the Haunted Hotel series and is just as useless, being Captain Obvious and giving zero insight on anything. The graphics are okay, nothing special. Overall a decent entry in ERS Poe series.
Rescue a young girl from the Penumbra Motel. Solve puzzles, unravel a long standing mystery of death and disappearances in this heart-pounding adventure game!
This game reminds me alot like Fright, right down to the use of real actors. Its the first ERS game that I have played that actually takes place in (relatively) contemporary times. They did a good job. There is some hokeyness of course, which is expected for this genre. I wasn't too crazy with some of the music, which wasn't scary enough but the graphics were just fine. The interesting thing is that there are no HOS scenes in this game! Its all minigames. The game is relatively linear where a room generally has all the tools to unlock puzzles within that same vicinity, so you don't really have too much annoying back and forth.
The bonus chapter isn't bad and has a somewhat lovecraftian ending.
I recommend this game!

This is the latest installment of what is probably my favorite ERS series. The game doesn't really have much continuity from previous games and the detective is all of a sudden a werewolf hunter with special powers. Overall the game's story isn't as strong as previous versions and the graphics are great but not as atmospheric. The a couple of the minigames were action orientated and fun. The bonus stage didn't have much logic to it storywise.
This is the second game in the series. Graphics wise, it improves on the first game.
I like the idea of playing a gypsy. If you liked the first game, you will like this one too.
The game seemed a bit glitchy with long load screens, and sometimes the hint button led you to the wrong place. The extras were not as good as the first game.
Vampire Legends: The True Story of Kisilova Collector’s Edition is an incredible adventure based on the true story of the first documented case of vampirism ever!
This game is produced by BGF in collaboration with O2D, a studio that I am not familiar with.
It is very interesting as they took a real life Serbian legend and made a game out of it. The graphics are reasonably well drawn but the animation is lacking. Music is decent. I liked the overall ambiance and atmosphere of the game. Story is derivative but fun with no issues.
Make sure you get the CE, you'll get your money's worth. In addition to the usual extras, you also get documentary like interviews dealing with the real legend. Outstanding extras.
I recommend this game!

I am not a hardcore fan of the series, but I have watched many episodes and am quite familiar with the series.
The game does a good job of maintaining the feel of the show. Characters like Mort and Seth pop up. My complaint is that they couldn't get the actual actors to do the voices, so the voices do not sound anywhere near what they sounded like on the show. Also the character of Michael Hagarty was considerably changed to be more youthful and good looking and bares no resemblance to the actor who played him.
The graphics were good. Too bad there is no collectors edition because the game lacked extras of any kind.
