Who is the Crimson Thief? Can Mortimer piece together the clues to finding all the stolen items? There is much more to this new mystery than meets the eye.

This is one of those 'rip your hair out' games. You have to find objects to use to complete tasks and proceed further - fine, love it. BUT, you also have to solve puzzles with ABSOLUTELY no guide. I'm not talking about 'hand-holding' or walkthroughs, I'm talking about finding something and being told it's a puzzle. There is no solution (ie find a way to.... or assemble according to...)
You literally have no idea what you are doing. I do not understand the 5 star reviews.
I don't recommend this game.

There are quite a few good GT installments out there - Bloody Mary, Color of Fright etc. But there are also some that just don't hold up and this is one of them.
The gameplay of this one is just too basic. The graphics are nice, I'll give it that. But the storyline is boring and so is the gameplay.
If I hadn't 'accidentally' clicked on a morphing object in one of the locations I'd never have known they existed.
I have better things to do than click all around every single location for what may or may not be there. At least let us know what scenes they are located OR if we've found them. This just irked me.
It just seems to me like the developers just threw this game together overnight.
I only did on HOP and one puzzle before giving up. The HOP was boring and the puzzle was way too easy.
I don't recommend this game.

This is one of those games that are best avoided for those who seek a 100% completion in a game. If it weren't for level 56, I'd give this game 5 stars. But I am trashing the game out of protest for developers who don't do their homework.
Whether it's a bug or not, level 56 is impossible. I've beaten every other level in the game. Though quite a few levels required several attempts, I eventually completed them. However, level 56 is not completable in gold. The fact that I've been unable to find anyone who has shows me that it is a bug. I've been trying for over two weeks, playing the level several hours a day. I've finally given up on this game.
I've grown really tired of these gaming companies who don't adequately program their games.
I don't recommend this game.

Let's start with the good. The graphics are cute, the workers are fast and there are no annoying 'voice-overs' for the workers. There is also an achievement system.
Now, the bad. There is only one game mode. No difficulty level to choose nor an untimed mode.
You can queue tasks, BUT, you cannot change them once you select (no cancelling tasks).
My biggest gripe, aside from the game mode options (or lack thereof) is within the gameplay. You have no idea how long you have to wait for a resource because there is no time bar for that. Given that you cannot unqueu tasks, this is a major downer for me.
The timer, however, is pretty in sync in the beginning. But I found myself repeating level 8 over and over to get the gold. Which doesn't bode well for a seasoned TM gamer such as myself. It wouldn't be a major issue for me IF you could cancel tasks and if you were given an idea of how long you have to wait for a resource. Without either of those, you are at the mercy of the timer.
All in all, I'd give this game a pass. Given the gameplay options that most 'modern' TM games offer, this game should have at least tried to live up to the competition. It did not however, so I cannot recommend this game.
I don't recommend this game.

Wow, what a game!
When I first saw todays new game it looked 'promising' but I decided to wait for the reviews to come in so I could get a general idea of whether or not I wanted to try the demo.
This is the 'ideal' match-3 for me. It has three game modes (timed, limited moves, relaxed) so there really is a mode for every player. There are minigames! There is also a 'shop' for you to buy bonuses to use in-game. You can 'collect' magical items on the board for added points.
You have 'castles' to rebuild as well. Not a thrilling component to the game as all you are doing is 'adding' an element by purchasing it.
The only thing that would make this game better is a trophy system - but it's not enough to gripe about. There are plenty of other attributes that make this game great. Not to mention the gorgeous HD graphics.
Give the demo a try! I'm sure glad I did!
I recommend this game!

How thrilled I am for a new TM/strategy game! Especially since quite a few of the latest TM releases were major disappointments in my opinion (ie MOAI 2, Weatherlord 3 & 4).
While the game is 50 levels, they are not very long - but are average for this type of game.
There is a 'relaxed' mode though I haven't tried it. I was able to get gold/expert on the first five levels with time to spare, so I'm thinking that the timer in this game is quite fair and accurate. But it's nice to know that if I wanted, I could play un-timed. There is an achievement system and the graphics are quite cute. No annoying, repetitive 'voice-overs' either.
I like the premise of the game, rescuing little characters and gathering marbles to use the bonuses.
It's a great game and a steal with todays 50% off deal. I bought it after the first five levels.
I recommend this game!

I really wanted to like this game. I originally found the concept intriguing. However, the game goes down hill rather quickly. After a 'very short' and useless tutorial, you get tossed into a level with no assistance whatsoever and no idea what to do - only what you shouldn't do -- which is let the bridge collapse or spend too much money. It is the latter that ruins this game for me. I'm pretty good at simulation & building games. But I spent 26 minutes on that second level alone and I could not find a way to accomplish the goals without spending over the limit.
Don't bother with the demo - its not even worth the time to try it.
I don't recommend this game.

The graphics are cute but the gameplay isn't. You build houses and other buildings using resources you've gathered through various means - typical of a strategy/TM game, HOWEVER, there is one MAJOR difference with this game that just ruins it. You have to 'repeatedly' click the task in order to 'speed it up' which you have to do IF you have any hope of getting the gold trophy. If it weren't for 'clickfest' mania, I would recommend it, but for that reason alone I cannot.
I don't recommend this game.

This is one of those games that shows promise but soon fails.
For one, the workers walk WAY too slow. I don't think I've seen another TM game here on BFG with workers who move any slower than this. The problem with that is, it makes it EXTREMELY difficult to get the gold in the latter levels because while you may have the strategy down, the workers just don't do the job. I've been trying to get the gold on level 9 for almost a week now and have finally given up. I really wish I had played more levels before buying it.
I'm REALLY getting tired of these types of TMs from BFG.
I don't recommend this game.

I am a HUGE TM fan and yet I groan at the games that become difficult too soon. This game became 'difficult' by about the fourth level, however you can still continue on the level if time runs out and you can go back to get a better score. There are also 'sub-levels' to certain main levels that allow you to complete the same level with different 'goals'.
I normally would give a TM game a lower rating for such 'timing' difficulty - however, not all levels are like that (so far) and you get experience points with the gold star rating which allow you to be faster, stronger, more productive etc. so that will help in the higher levels. You can 'reset' and reassign your EPs at any time in any way - you cannot however, gain more EPs on repeated levels that you already got the gold star on. But you can use the tools, bonuses and potions you've gained in later levels.
I truly like the ability to brew potions, create special tools with artifacts you collect as well as an achievements section. Add that to the fact that the music is pleasant with NO annoying and repetitive voice-overs.
I wouldn't recommend this game to 'newbies' of the TM genre, but for veterans - it's a must have. It's complex and challenging without a bunch of hand-holding. IMO, it's sort of in between the two.
I recommend this game!
