Not a fan of the first one whatsoever, so I went into this with low expectations. The first one is frustrating beyond words and to this day I've not completed every level in gold time. So for those who may think this 2nd installment is 'too easy', stick with the first one.
But enough about the first. I'm on level 31 and I think I've only had to replay two levels to get gold and I got them the second time. I don't consider this game to be too easy (some may) mainly because in most levels I BARELY make the gold, but I make it nonetheless. I think the developers clearly put a lot of time into how the timer works on this installment. I can't tell you how many times I've been completing the last task and I hear final 'ticking of the clock' near the gold time limit and think the worker won't complete in time and I'll have to replay it. I think that only happened in those two levels I mentioned.
I like that there are lots of achievements and I've come across no 'bugs'.
If I am to offer any critique of this game its that the music and workers voices are repetitive and get to be annoying, but thats nothing to really gripe about.

Overall, this is a pretty decent TM game and I may buy it- still on the fence. My primary holdout is the timer. Out of the 10 levels I have played so far, I did mange to get 3 stars on 9 of them. But even with the first level, I came very close to only getting two and this happened on most of the levels. Level six is the one I cannot seem to get 3 on.
This is a game that those who enjoy TM games that require you to rush through will enjoy. It doesn't matter what your strategy is before hand, you're still gonna be pushed to the limit on time. I'm not a fan of those. I like a challenge, don't get me wrong- but this is overkill. My hope is that the developer tweaks the timers a bit because playing without a timer in a TM game is sort of pointless. Though I get why some prefer to have a 'relaxed mode'.
What I don't understand is why so many developers don't provide three basic modes that will appease every gamer: 'relaxed'(no timer), 'normal' (for casual players) and 'expert' (for people who insist on a hard challenge). That way everyone wins. It's not brain surgery.

The only improvement between this 4th installment vs the 3rd, is the addition of a 'relaxed' mode. Which is sort of pointless with a TM game, but necessary for clueless developers who cannot tell time, like this one.
I play TM games to help keep my mind occupied, not to frustrate the heck out of myself.
I get that its TM and that there is supposed to be a challenge to it. But I can get gold on just about all the other TM series on this site that I've tried (Royal Envoys, Island Tribes, Northern Tales, Weather Lord etc).
But for the life of me, this series just stinks. And its a CE for petes sake!
Unless you like pulling your hair out when you play TM games, avoid all the Gardens Inc games. The developer is totally clueless.
The legacy of the Weather Lord continues as King Victor and Queen Victoria prepare to pass the royal torch to their daughter, Jenny. But before Jenny can rule, she must learn the ropes!

I have all but two of the previous WL games- the 2nd and 3rd. I found those games enormously frustrating. Coincidentally, the majority of reviewers of this game thus far who complain this game is 'too easy' like the 2nd & 3rd best.
I love TM games and I do want a challenge, but I don't want it to be endlessly frustrating. IDEALLY, a TM game would have an 'expert mode', 'normal mode' and a 'relaxed mode' that way it satisfies EVERYONE. But not all developers do that.
I played this game for the full trial and will be purchasing it. I find it challenging enough for me. I don't think it's too easy or too hard, but just about right.
There are several aspects of this game I want to point out that struck me by surprise. There are some slight alterations in the types of weather used and more noticeably you have pirates instead of goblins. I like the change. I found these new additions to the game made it much more enjoyable than the same old goblins.
Bottom line is not all TM games are for every TM fan out there. Everyone has a different take on them and a different point of view. My best advice is that you try the game and if you like it, as I do- its a buy.

The last two WLs were fantastic IMO. I really enjoyed them. But the two before that were disasters. This latest installment is a return to the disasters. Rather than building on what the most recent ones offered, they returned to the failed execution of before.
So what if there is an integrated strategy guide. You shouldn't need one for a TM- even so, I had to repeatedly play level 6 because I had no idea what I was supposed to be doing because nearly every task said I lacked the resources even though i had them. The timer is way off the gameplay rather buggy.
Stick with others, avoid this one. SE or not. It's a no-buy for me. Shame, really. I had high hopes for this one.

Given the high star reviews I decided to give this game a go. At first it was great. A bit of a twist on your typical match-3. By that I mean you have to match certain colors in a certain order. There is also a 'battle mode' where you compete against a dragon. The battle modes are actually the easiest which makes no sense to me. You get special powers that you can unlock along the way- but only a few of them can be used in standard gameplay, the rest are 'battle mode' powers which you don't even really need.
The concept is great-to a point. The idea that you have to collect certain colors by connecting them in 3s. But along the way, you'll have to do a match-4, which is much more challenging- but doable. Then you back to match-3.
Here's where the game goes sour- in the later levels, you have a much smaller board to play with but you still have to collect the same amount of colors. While I'm sure it is doable, eventually, the problem is that the board is set up randomly. So you can't try out different strategies in order to complete the level (like you can with TM games). With this game, in the later levels, it's all up to chance. Your planning, your strategy and everything else is a moot point. This is a match-3 game and while I don't mind a challenge- this is a disaster. You hardly get any coins in game so you can rarely even use the limited powers they give you. There are a few 'minigames' but only one (match the cards) is fun. The other is a slot machine and the other is a 'rapid move' collect the flying coins and unless you are a speedmeister, you'll only collect about 40-50 and even the lowest power in game is 200 and all that does is allow you to skip to the next color bar, which again, is up to chance. If I wanted to play a game of chance, I'd play a casino game. Even TMs that are ridiculously challenging can be completed once you find the right strategy. Chance is not a strategy.
I am so glad I didn't buy the first one and I'll be steering clear of this developer.
First let me start with the good parts. The graphics are very nicely done and I really like the geographical settings of this particular installment.
My biggest gripe is in the 'extras'. These are the bells & whistles I look for (in addition to the SG & achievements) But there is no way of knowing in which scene the Morphs are in and no idea whether you got them or not in that particular scene. Nor any way to track your collectibles to know which ones you have and which you don't. I find that quite disappointing.
This game has WAAAAAAAAAAAY too much dialogue. For every one minute of game play it seems their are two minutes of dialogue. You can't get any rest from the rapid clicking needed during game play because you keep clicking on the screen to skip through the endless dialogue.
That being said, I am pretty good at these types of games. I love Bilbos and Burger Shop 2 etc, to name a few. But this game, I couldn't even get expert on level three on Beginner. Too much going on and the layout is not gamer friendly, IMO.

Pros: Lost of levels, artifacts to craft and use, a large achievement section (all good for a CE). Two game modes (timed/untimed)- best part about this is that you can alternate within a game (rather than starting from scratch). Great for those endlessly frustrating levels that you can't seem to get the gold on.
Cons: Too much dialogue (for me, anyways). Those annoying birds! but fortunately, they are only in one chapter (versus the whole game).
