For those who enjoy listening to music, then this game is really good. For non music lovers then it would still be OK, but I think they would probably not totally "get into it." It is a combination of hidden object and music arrangement, and I think it it very clever. The graphics are very good but some of the hidden objects are pretty small.
I think this is a great game ...... at least for those who like "word games." I didn't play the timed mode because I prefer to relax and think about word options. This one is a keeper.
You've returned from school to visit your father at his famous Jazz Pepper Club during Mardi Gras, but everyone is hypnotized. Have they heard the wrong note?
As a self confessed Nawlins tragic, I really wanted to love this game. I was especially looking forward to the "great music" that was mentioned in some reviews. Whilst there was the occasional snippet of what I would call New Orleans music, there wasn't enough in my opinion to rave about.
I thought the story line was a bit silly, and the accents were pretty forgettable. It is not a terrible game, and perhaps I just expected too much. I guess it's worth buying on a "half price day."
I enjoyed the puzzles in this game because they were different from those in other HOGS. This game itself was not difficult and did become a little boring because of the repetitive scenes. The graphics were OK but I found the storyline to be pretty silly, and the conclusion was poor. I'd probably give it 3 and a half stars, and I'd recommend it would be OK to buy on a half price sale.
This game is not particularly difficult, and whilst some experts might find it too easy, I think it has enough in it to keep the average gamer interested. It's not a "comedy" but on the other hand it's not a dark scary game, which is a bit of a rarity these days. I think it is worth buying, especially when it's on deal.
I really enjoyed this game. It was the second in the series but I don't really think you would need to play the first to pick up the story. It's pretty much straight HOG but with some good puzzles thrown in. Some of the HO's are pretty small but there is unlimited hints if you need them (and a skip button). The graphics are pretty good and the game has a touch of humor.
This game was OK. I'd actually give it another half star if I could. It was however pretty repetitive, and after a while I kept hoping it would finish. Some of the items were pretty small but there was unlimited hints. If it was on special and all you wanted was a basic HOG then you could do worse than this. (The sequel was a big improvement and I really liked that one)
Mortimer is back for an all-new, eye-popping adventure in Mortimer Beckett and the Time Paradox! Join Mortimer for a trip through time in this great hidden object game.
Another disappointment in the much awaited Mortimer Beckett series. I purchased the first two purely based on glowing independent reviews. From these reviews I had the obviously incorrect impression that these were "fun" games. In my opinion they were not "fun." The hidden objects ranged from the blatantly obvious to the ridiculously hidden. Thankfully there were unlimited hints. I couldn't wait to finish the game, .... and then I decided I wasn't going to wait, and so I didn't bother finishing it.
I've been waiting for the Mortimer Beckett series to appear because I had read reviews elsewhere that it was a "fun" game. I must have missed something in the translation because I couldn't find anything "fun" about it. I think "fun" means something that tends to at least bring a smile ( or even better, an occasional laugh) ... but this game offered neither. It is not a terrible game, and some people might like it ... but to me it was just a basic HOG (and some of the items were ridiculously small) ...although there are unlimited hints available. I simply found the game boring and disappointing.
