I don't think this game has more than one level, but don't let that stop you from playing it. It would be great for a first time player because the game explains EXACTLY how to play and guides you through the entire story. Even so, if you're an intermediate to expert player, I still think you will enjoy this game. Since this is an earlier game, it didn't expand fully to fit my screen and some of the objects were tiny and a bit of a challenge to find. But nothing in this game will keep you stuck or lost to the point of frustration. If you do get stuck, the hint system is pretty useless as it just explains where you are and what doors lead where. The hint does not tell you what you need to do or where you need to head, BUT, for you beginners out there, just go from room to room until you find the sparkles and you will be on the right track. I'm pretty strict when I give out stars, but I enjoyed this game too much to give it any less than a 4 even though it took me less than 3 hours to complete. It is just a heck of a lot of FUN. I like the way the ending left me anticipating game two.
Bottom line: pretty cool story, fun X 10, lots of explanatory dialogue for beginners, enough challenge for intermediates, and an easy, but enjoyable play for experts.
This game is beautiful. I loved the graphics. It appears to be a beginner's game. Even on the Insane level it told me exactly what to do and how to do it. The game will happily hold your hand and guide you through the adventure. The IHOS are super easy with the objects being large and right in front of you. The mini games are also very easy and won't cause you any frustration. The plot is pretty cool, I thought. The music is upbeat and light-hearted which fits the game well. If you are an intermediate or advanced player, I would recommend trying the demo before you buy. If you're like me, you won't find much challenge and won't need to go past the one hour demo. BUT if you're new to this genre, or you like an easier game, this is the game for you. Enjoy!
I recommend this game!

Reality Show: Fatal Shot
After a man is murdered on a hit reality TV show, you are called in to uncover the truth behind the crime.
***WARNING*** The name puzzle says to place the name COUNTERclockwise. This is an error. You must place the name CLOCKwise.
Ok, that said, this game is pretty cool It's fun, easy, short and has everything you need for a pleasant afternoon. There's nothing astounding about it. Neither is their anything horrible about it. It would be a great game for a discount buy or free game buy.
As the other reviewers have said better than I could; it's a pretty decent game. I think you will enjoy it a lot, just watch out for that error on the name puzzle. :)
Enjoy a pleasant afternoon with a pretty good, easy, game.
You've come to Mexico to explore a mysterious mansion. But this is no vacation. Your cousin is missing, and the house is crawling with bizarre and deadly creatures!
First let me say that in hard mode, there are no hints, black bar clues or anything to help the player. I love that, and that's all I love. The story is boring x infinity. The graphics and voice overs are well done, but the games and IHOS are very easy. Still, that's not the reason I don't like this game. I don't like it because there is no rhyme or reason to the sequence of actions and movement of the player. In addition, there are many times when items are used to accomplish tasks which in reality, couldn't possibly work....the PIN????? Come on!! If you play past chapter five, you will know what I mean. I also found that I'd have the correct item and would have placed it on the correct use just to have it tell me no. I often had to place and replace the item until I hit just the right spot before it would accept it.....the PIN????? I don't know how many times nor how many places on the item I tried that pin before it accepted it. When I finally got it to work, I was irritated. I was no longer having fun. The game had become work; unpleasant work. I'm very glad I bought this game during half price day or I'd be fuming. I'll finish it because I paid for it, but my advice is for you to play the demo before making a purchase.
Why on earth would the devs go out of their way to create a spine-tingling story, really cool scenes, tons of interactive games and then leave the human characters looking like art dolls? That one flaw kept this game from being a 5 for me. I wanted my character to speak, but all she did was stand mute during conversations. Come on! The actors' voice overs were perfect, the music gorgeous, the game intelligent and I didn't even mind the snakes. I flew through this game in a few hours and it did keep my attention. I loved the jump map. Frankly, without it, I would have been mad about all of the backtracking.
Unless you have a snake phobia, this game is definitely a "must play" because it's a really superb game. Don't let my dire descriptions of the character drawing keep you from playing it. It's well worth the time and you will love it. It's an inspired adventure that will make you forget about reality for a while...., but fire the person in charge of drawing the humans. He/she/they diminished an otherwise perfect game.
I liked the lay out of this game. Visiting the different locales to accomplish tasks was very interesting to me. I liked how the game closed off the locales once I completed them which prevented unnecessary backtracking. I LOVED the jump map. It saved me a lot of time. The story is pretty basic, find this and that to save everyone, but the presentation is superb. It's logical, smooth and kept me on the edge of my seat as to where I'd get to go next. The puzzles and IHOS are straightforward and easy, except for one puzzle which did make me work a little. I wasn't crazy about the graphic of the heroine because it seemed old fashioned and not very realistic. I would have liked for her to look much better. Another tiny complaint I have is that the people I met in the places I visited s/a India, all appeared to be European with English accents. It's a slight detail, I know, but as thrilling as it was to "visit" India, it would have been even more so if the people I encountered were as realistic as the scenery....just a small complaint...:) Otherwise, I really enjoyed this game.
I recommend this game!

Dark Manor: A Hidden Object Mystery
The bayou. The roaring 1920’s. A supernatural secret. Step into Dark Manor, where ghostly hosts will help you find your way! Beautify your manor today!
First of all, this game said it couldn't detect an internet connection which made me uneasy. Why does it need me to be online while playing?? When the game began and plunked me into what seemed like the middle of a story (apparently I inherited a mansion??) that had no voice overs, cartoon-like drawing and I had to collect sticky ectoplasm from objects, I was really uneasy. When I saw the first HOS with it's huge words and very rudimentary skill level, I wanted out, BUT where was the menu button? How did I escape the game? Turns out, I had to use my escape key to back out of it and by then I was uninstalling. The game was unpleasant for the entire 5 minutes I tolerated it. I'm not wasting another moment of my life on it. At least give me VOs, a solid story and better than coloring book graphics if you want me to play. Sorry, wish I would have liked it, but I couldn't uninstall fast enough. Don't waste your time if you're a serious player.
I don't recommend this game.

Nightmares from the Deep: The Siren's Call
Face off against Davy Jones and his nightmares from the deep!
Ok, I admit it, when I first started this game and saw it was about people turning to fish due to a curse, I had my doubts......but boy was I wrong. This game is as good as everyone else says it is. The opening scene is so realistic, I thought I could feel the rocking of the ship. I became so engrossed in the story that my dog had to bring me his bowl to remind me it was dinner time. No kidding!!!
Rather than write a book, I will make a list for you:
What's Great: Graphics are crisp clear and gorgeous Many different and interesting scenes You really feel in danger and part of the chaos taking place You get to work with another character (sometimes physically helping him) Things happen to surprise you so you don't get bored with the story There are mini games within the HOS---way cool Jump map so you don't waste your time or sneakers The music is sooo good and creates so much tension during the action that your heart will speed up All of the puzzles give visual clues to their solutions if you're observant The game is fair, no dirty tricks You have to earn information about the story by collecting coins which makes you work hard to hear the next chapter....fun! The story is clearly explained so you're never confused as to what to do next or what is happening Clearly stated objectives Some games I've never seen before but all doable The heroine, you, is very resourceful...love that! The story ties up beautifully at the end leaving you feel satisfied
What's a little "bad" A few English translation problems but they won't confuse you or affect your game play. I'm not crazy about fish-faced humans but hey, I'm being picky
This is one game I would recommend you get right away. If you're like me, you'll wish it could go on and on......have fun!!!
I loved the Awakening series prior to this one, but this game is boring x 10. The graphics are disappointingly fuzzy. The mini games are so easy they're laughable. The story was uninspired and mind numbing. It made me not care at all about Sophia, her parents or anything else going on. The game seemed like a bunch of left over scenes from the previous games stitched loosely together to form this "new" game. I didn't see where one area related to another and I didn't care. I began to yawn from the lackluster totality of this game and then found myself falling asleep about halfway through. Then I went and got some caffeine and tried to force myself to finish this game and failed. I would rather take the financial loss than continue. I'm very disappointed because I couldn't wait for this sequel to come out. I am totally shocked that it's as badly done as it is. Please try the demo before you buy to make sure it's your kind of game. Sorry I couldn't give this the glowing review I expected to give it.
A long-forgotten artifact has just resurfaced, and the race to claim it will cause a devastating war. The only thing strong enough to stop it is one woman's promise to the man she loves.
This game is supposedly set in India, so I was expecting a cultural experience. Not so....where were all the Indian people? Where were the Indian cultural sights and sounds??? Okay, now down to the gist of what annoyed me about this game; running back and forth and the devs introducing very important articles early on but not producing the items you need to pick them up with until hours later. That tactic, whether it's supposed to add intrigue or challenge to the game, really annoyed me (the net???) I'm not going to give any of the plot away, but if you play this one, you will understand what I'm talking about. The expert mode has a jump map, thank goodness, because there is a lot of chaotic running to and fro looking for objects in previous scenes. Without the ability to jump to the rooms I wanted, I would have uninstalled this game before finishing it. There is a good story line, but it's pretty much the same as any other game. The graphics were blurry in some scenes. In one HOS the item I was looking for was so blurry and misshapen, I wasn't sure I was clicking the correct picture. Also during the HOS the devs had a tendency to place small items at the edges. The main character, you, are a woman who says stupid things like "I think I'll need to buy new gloves after this." Come on.....she's a warrior and worried about the condition of her gloves? I find that sexist. I've yet to come across a guy in these games who makes such droll comments, but I'm being picky. The most appealing aspect of the game for me was the beautiful music. Other than that, most of my time was spent jumping from one area to another and waiting for the devs to give me the items that picked up the items introduced EARLY on in the game. Why introduce an object that needs to be picked up 15 mins into the game and not allow it to actually be picked up until 3 minutes before the end? Not my kinda game.
Bottom line: it's ok, but you'll need patience and your best track shoes.
