Elephant games releases an awesome sci-fi mystery in their latest installment "Project Dawn". What begins with the abduction of your daughter Maya after Jennifer Palmer wrecks her RV on the way home soon turns into an adventure you will never forget. Why does the Military have the entire town of Gray Falls on lock-down? Who is this mysterious Darren Soul? This is so obscure and wonderful, I can't describe it any better than other rave reviews. This Elephant game was challenging for me but you have to play this to experience it. I don't know how in the world they conceived this one! It's a mind melter for sure. When you learn of the horrific experiments that are taking place at the Gray Falls Research Center you're transported into the nightmares of everyone involved with the project. Surface 11: Project Dawn is a fabulous entry into the long-standing Surface franchise. The game is as close to complete as it gets. Fans will be thrilled, and newcomers entertained. This is a hidden object game everyone should play. While it is always hard to innovate the standard HOG formula, Surface 11 does a good job of keeping things interesting. The game is refreshingly non-linear, keeping every environment relevant throughout the storyline, and forcing you to think on your toes. You will need to retrace your steps regularly, and use your brain. No click-mashing here. The mini-games are also spot on. While many of them are simple remakes of the standard puzzles you find in other hidden object games. This edition manages to keep things fresh and puts interesting twists on all of them. Once again, these mini-games will force you to think on your toes, instead of making you feel like you have played them in a hundred HOGs before. Fans and newcomers to the Surface series will have a hard time turning the game off. The music is invigorating, the gameplay is challenging, and the visuals hit the mark. I remain a fan of all the Surface Series. Cheers!

A strange man arrived at your front door to deliver your sister’s invitation to visit her. The thing is, you have not seen your sister in 10 years and you just had a terrifying nightmare last night, as curious as you are, you decided to give it a shot. True Fear: Forsaken Souls from Goblinz is the first game from the True Fear trilogy, and this first part proves that this is going to be the most creepy HOPA franchise ever! True Fear: Forsaken Souls is an intense psychological thriller intended for mature audiences (which is rarely seen). True Fear: Forsaken Souls is a really terrifying game, full of jump scares and amazing but extremely creepy effects. The first cut-scene is quite horrifying, bloody and gruesome so if you do not like those aspects in a ‘casual’ game, True Fear is probably not for you. I found True Fear to be a fresh breath of air though since none other HOPAs in the market is as terrifying as True Fear is. Despite that, True Fear is not a fast-paced game; the story is simple to follow and the gameplay is quite challenging. The story nicely develops through creepy notes and excellent cuts-scenes which makes the game interesting. The most redeeming feature is the game’s super creepy atmosphere. Most of the scenes are relatively dark in terms of lighting, still, items and areas in the scenes are clear enough to investigate. The soundtracks are also fantastic, very chilling indeed; the voice overs are dramatic which really engage us into the game. The Hidden Object scenes are a bit out of place in our opinion, we think that True Fear would do a better job as a casual adventure game. Hidden Object scenes are bright compared to the adventure scenes, objects are big and easy to find. The puzzles are nothing really creative, but they are fun and tie in the storyline very well. The main game abruptly ends after roughly 4 hours of gameplay, leaving me with a huge hangover and countless unanswered questions. To be honest, I was a bit annoyed by this but all it does is keep you impatiently waiting for the second game planned to release. As for the Collector’s Edition features, they are very tightly-packed. The Bonus Chapter is as exciting as the main game is, and serves as a fascinating introduction to the second part of the series. Other extras are the usual stuff plus Deleted Scenes, Alternative Introduction video and some sneak peeks for the second game.
I recommend this game!

What an exciting adventure to celebrate Halloween. The best party of the year is happening at Mrs. Blackwell's house or is it? What begins with a party invitation soon turns into a web of deceit. When orphans Jane Stone and Joe Benson arrive at the party Mrs. Blackwell and her ghoulish "beyonder" side kick kidnaps Joe and locks him in the bedroom. Seems Mrs. Blackwell promised Joe that if helped you (Jane Stone) get to the party, she would tell him who his birth parents are. Jane is part of an order called "seers" as were her parents. The "seers" devised a magic seal to prevent "beyonders" from reaching our world. There's only one problem, the magic seal can be reversed once a year and the "beyonders" have figured out a way to remove it! Now it's up to you Jane to figure out how to stop Mrs. Blackwell, save Joe and use your magic to save the day and escape Blackwell's dastardly plans. This tumultuous task will definitely be one party-goers will engage in and Elephant games have made it spooktacular!!! The heart-pounding music and the creepy ambient sounds also help increase the suspense of the game. Most of the HOP's offer a small interactive puzzle to solve. Don't forgot to look for the Morphing Object in each scene. More than worthy of a 5 star rating and a must-buy for me. Happy Halloween gamers!!!

Professor Lomonosov has called you to an archaeological excavation site in Agora after he has made a groundbreaking discovery! An educational trip suddenly turned into a nightmare when a monster was unleashed from the Cube of Sins and kidnapped your friends. Can you save them, while learning more about this cursed artifact? Here we go again, another evil spirit unleashed from an age-old artifact in the form of a cube. From start to finish, Whispered Secrets: Forgotten Sins sticks to a formulaic plotline, one that is filled with forgettable characters and uninteresting side-stories. That being said, casual gamers will appreciate the refreshing locale of the game. The Arabian theme is interesting and certainly has not been overused in the HOPA world. Production wise, Whispered Secrets: Forgotten Sins is pretty much spot-on. The colorful visuals complement sophisticated artwork extremely well and there is just enough special effects to enhance the experience. However, we do feel that the visual style in this sequel is somewhat more juvenile that in the previous Whispered Secrets games. It is not to the point that takes away from the entertainment, but it surely made the environment slightly less immersive. Apart from a solid production and an uncommon theme, the game disappoints in other aspects. The gameplay in Whispered Secrets: Forgotten Sins is disappointingly standard. Neither the adventure part of the game nor the puzzles offer much challenge. Fortunately, the hidden object scenes do showcase some creativity, particularly the ones with the interactive progressive format. Further, the game includes one extra feature to go along with the gameplay; the Cube of Sins. This cube can be used to counter sand magic by prompting mini hidden object scenes – a fun addition, but nothing groundbreaking.Whispered Secrets: Forgotten Sins concludes at the end of the fourth hour once you have completed the four (4) stories in a one plot theme. The length of this edition was enough to spark my interest even though it wasn't my favorite. The Whispered Secrets "series" in general is worth checking out. I recommend all of them. Cheers!

Once again play the role of Emma Roberts( Paranormal Journalist) as Editor Anthony Williams asks you to investigate a cursed Hotel/Spa construction site of the Alaskan mountains in the town of Whitewall. Construction of the resort began the first week of October when weird things started happening and by November workers on the site saw a Ghost girl and refused to continue the project. At the construction site you pick up your suitcase which contains a copy of Fear For Sale magazine "Hidden in the Darkness" a cursed watch and a journal that belongs to a man named Norman Grady. Norman was a gold miner for the mining town of Whitefall. While looking for gold in Whitefall he fell in love with a girl named Olivia Rice and subsequently proposed to her as you learn from reading his journal he wrote in 1912. Your adventure continues once you board the Alaskan cableway car which takes you back in time to 1912 when the small town of Whitefall burned completely to the ground. When exiting the cableway you meet Norman, who has fallen into an opening in the earth beneath the mine shafts. You rush to attempt to save Norman but that leads you to the jail of Whitefall where the deputy sheriff tells you there has been a murder recently and the town is closed. He directs you to see Sheriff Dan Rice who is Olivia Rice's father. Dan Rice never approved of Norman and daughter Olivia getting married, he doesn't give consent so Olivia refuses Norman's proposal. In fact Dan suspect's Norman of the recent murder and entices the township to a jury trial. A quick stop at the dressmaker gives you an opportunity to change your modern day clothing into bounty hunter attire which is suitable for 1912. This way you can enter the town unnoticed to learn more about Norman's trial. The township convicts Norman of Olivia's death, but you are convinced he's innocent. You proceed to break Norman out of jail by setting off a GREEN GAS EXPLOSION to distract Sheriff Rice and the township but in doing so you create a fire that you quickly find a way to extinguish. When the fire dies away the Deputy Sheriff enters the jail, announces that Olivia Rice's body has been found and he arrests YOU for her murder and locks you in jail. After freeing yourself at the jail you find yet another journal, this one belongs to Joanna Chaney. Her husband Tobias is a close friend of Sheriff Dan Rice. Seems that Joanna kidnapped Olivia when she was a baby but she didn't murder her and neither did Tobias. Find the secret passage way Joanna speaks of in HER diary and escape the jail. Hurry Emma because you can't leave Whitefall until the curse is lifted. The deceased people of Whitfall live the same day over & over again. In the morning no one remembers what occurred the day before except you, because you never died. You must stay ALIVE Emma and figure out this conundrum!!!
Issue eleven takes about four (4) hours to complete and another 50 minutes with the bonus chapter. Elefun games did an amazing job with the storyline but the CE bling isn't worth mentioning. This game is not as ‘fearful’ as the title promises; still, the story alone is fantastic enough to make us look pass that fact. The graphics are on the same level from what we expected from a leading HOPA development team. The colors are vibrant and the details are vivid, the locations ominously portrayed the era and the animations are acceptably smooth. Moreover, the soundtracks are great, they really add some suspense to the game. I've been a fan of this series since it was conceived in 2010. This one was a definite purchase for me. Cheers!

As an expert in the paranormal field, you have been invited by the top-ranked TV show “The Ghost Seekers” to join them on their investigation at the Alexander Valentine hotel. However, you arrived at the hotel to find that the crew has gone missing. Are you ready for another terrifying adventure in this fifteenth edition of Haunted Hotel? First of all, Haunted Hotel XV: The Evil Inside is one real creepy game (as it should be). The storyline might not be anything groundbreaking, but the haunting atmosphere captivates you from beginning to end. The game focuses less on random jump scares and more on subtle, but extremely effective, nods toward something sinister. You may also enjoy how the storyline slowly, but strategically, unravels. The creepy atmosphere was brought about by the top-notch production. The visuals are incredibly detailed and the muted colors add to the appropriate gloominess to the environment. Elephant Games also continues to deliver stellar cut-scenes and animations, no disappointment here. Additionally, the suspenseful background music also takes the spooky factor to a whole new level! For the most part, the gameplay of Haunted Hotel XV: The Evil Inside is standard. The adventure portion is neither too simple nor frustratingly difficult, the hidden object scenes are satisfyingly challenging, and the puzzles offer a nice mixture between some traditional styles and a few creative ones. The game also includes a gimmicky gadget called P.A.T.R.I.C.K (which stands for Paranormal Activity Tracker & Interactive Computing Kernel). The device allows you to spot traces of paranormal activity and reveal hidden locations – which is similar to other HOPA game gadgets used in a similar manner. Haunted Hotel XV: The Evil Inside falls on the short side when it comes to the length. The main game takes just a little over three hours to complete. If you decide on the CE version (which I did) you can play the bonus chapter for another 40 minutes. I would like to add that, the bonus section might justify its Collector’s Edition price tag; a strategy guide, wallpapers, concept art, soundtracks, screensavers, re-playable hidden objects, re-playable puzzles, a secret room, achievements, collectibles, and morphing objects are included. With 15 editions in this continuing saga, it's remarkable that casual gamers still want more? If die-hard fans continue purchasing I presume there will be. Haunted Hotel's popularity has suffered from lack of innovation, recycled game play, and re-use of paranormal gadgets. I enjoyed this installment mainly because of storyline even if this series isn't as popular as other creepy adventure games. Cheers!

Long ago during the reign of Emperor Carven, war broke out between the Imperial Army and the Army of Dark Magicians. The Medico Imperium Order managed to suppress the Dark Magicians uprising but there were some who vowed to AVENGE the Order in the name of the fallen brethren! These are Dark Times in the Enchanted Kingdom and it's up to you as Imperial Healer of the Order to protect it's citizens from a strange venomous vengeful sorcerous named Amber. Amber vows to curse everyone in the Enchanted Kingdom with disease causing crystals. You’re a respected and honored healer who has been invited to the theatre, and once there, find there’s shenanigans going on. What should be a relaxing, rewarding time is one fraught with danger and intrigue.Your job as a healer is to find all the ingredients to create healing potions. You are also busy chasing angry Amber, whose fiery temper keeps you constantly at bay. Armed with a Healer's Kit which requires mixing potions, you must use this kit to cure afflicted characters in this spellbinding adventure. When you discover the history of the Dark Army and The Imperial Order your objectives are clear. You must locate the "Healing Heart" and join it with the "Crystal Lily" in an attempt to truly eradicate all known diseases from the Enchanted Kingdom. It's no easy task either, with Amber's intent to only do harm so she can resurrect the Dark Army. The legend speaks of combining the sword of Emperor Craven he broke when he separated the "Healing Heart" and the "Crystal Lily". Only you can solve this perplexing situation and restore health to the disease ridden Enchanted Kingdom. Will you be able to out-wit the malicious Sorceress Amber? Find the sword, the heart, the lily and you just might have a fighting chance. The ambiance is beautiful and the colors are rich and bright. Purples blend into blues, and deep jewel tones surround you. Dimly lit areas add a soft glow to each room, which creates a soothing atmosphere. This is a setting I would definitely love to be in, minus the bitter and angry sorceress. Domini games once again delivers a fantastic fairytale adventure in this continuing saga, which deserved the Editor's Choice Award! I hope casual gamers will immerse themselves in this latest installment. If you like fantasy style games and don’t mind taking your time, then check this one out! Time to join Inspector Lestrade on another case in the continuing saga of Grim Façade. After learning of Amanda Aquille's mysterious illness your investigation leads you to Amanda's mother...Madam Aquille. When you question her she tells you that her daughter died six (6) months ago and because her husband Mr. Aquille loses the family estate in a card game gambling, there was no money to cure her illness or pay for her funeral expenses. Madam Aquille seeks comfort in a hallucinogenic herbal tea and the storyline becomes more bizarre. Murders continue to occur, leaving characters baffled. Only when you save Dr. Fancisco Crioni (the money lender who treated Amanda) do you suspect their may be more than just a ghost murdering people for jewelry and money. The cast of characters are as follows:
◾ Inspector Lestrade, the Inspector who hired the Detective to investigate the truth behind the numerous cases of the Ghost Bride. He becomes one her victims but not before asking the Detective to protect the town in his place and find out the Ghost Bride's true identity.
◾ Amanda Aquille, the young woman from the once distinguished Aquille Family who passed away before her wedding six month shortly before the story and the rumored Ghost Bride. It seems that her unrest spirit is fixed on taking revenge on those who brought miseries to her family and recovering her dowry.
◾ Madame Aquille, the mother of Amanda and the wife of Seignior Aquille who committed suicide due to his gambling debt. Madame Aquille was forced to put the rest of her family's treasures on auction to pay for her daughter's treatment and funeral shortly before the story. The police's investigations left her with bitter feeling.
◾ The Undertaker, a man who worked at the town cemetery. He is attacked by the Ghost Bride's ice magic but saved by the Detective. Madame Aquille gave him the family's golden watch in exchange for him giving Amanda a proper funeral.
◾ The Doctor, the doctor who treated Amanda before she passed away. He refused to order a medicine that could've saved her due to its expensiveness and that Madame Aquille was unable to paid for it. He becomes one of the Ghost Bride' murdered victims.
◾ The Ghost Bride, the antagonist of this game who is believed to be the ghost of Amanda Aquille. She displays supernatural powers such as passing through solid gates and doors as well as fighting with cryokinesis and ice shuriken. Her skeletal body is corporeal and she is also capable of shedding blood.
◾ Martizez the creepy cast who is a standard character in Grim Façade series. I recommend all the Grim Façade games. Cheers!

It’s the Princess’ birthday! And this year, the grand celebration lies on the night of the blood moon, when the innocent citizens of the kingdom are to be sacrificed by the demons. Help the Princess stop this cruel practice on this cursed night! I always thought of the Spirits of Mystery as fairytale-like fantasy series. While each of the installments almost always possesses a dark edge, the mood of the game is still quite upbeat. The Moon Crystal definitely takes “dark” to a whole new level. This latest sequel features an abundant amount of disturbing scenes of human sacrifices, as well as gore and blood. These elements might work if the game is framed as a psychological thriller or is being released under a different franchise, but as it is now, the thought of princesses, fairies, and all these dreary elements existing in the same game are both conflicting and confusing. It might be partly because of these conflicting emotions that I gave a 4 star rating for this game. The adventure gameplay is standard; a good chunk of backtracking, an overwhelming amount of weirdly-shaped locks, and predictable tasks to solve. The hidden objects scenes repeat themselves at least once, which can be seen as a sign of laziness on the developer’s part, and none of them are particularly innovative either. The puzzles are slightly more entertaining, filled with great ideas, but not necessarily well-executed. Production wise, Spirits of Mystery: The Moon Crystal is pretty much spot-on. The hand-drawn visual style from AMAX Interactive is definitely great-looking, accompanied by amazing shades of color and plenty of special effects. Moreover, the gloomy music is appropriate for the game and the voice-acting is solid. Spirits of Mystery: The Moon Crystal has a standard four-hour length, and the bonus chapter comes in at 50 minutes. The Collector’s Edition features a strategy guide, wallpapers, concept art, screensavers, videos, re-playable hidden object scenes, re-playable puzzles, achievements, and collectibles. I remain a fan of this series and recommend all the games.
Cheers!
