I love the Fables of the Kingdom series. It's uncluttered and sort of old school which I like. There's not 40 things to do on the levels with a screen totally cluttered. The gameplay is the same as the pervious four Fables. Somehow I thought this one was shorter than the others, but I did not count the levels. The last chapter is sort of a bonus level before you get to the bonus level which is included with the CE. There are 3 coins to find on each level plus an item. I enjoyed it greatly.
This wasn't too bad of a story. Not great, but passable. Funny, I had just replayed all the older Reflection of Life games. What a difference this one is to the older ones. It just seems like developers are cutting every corner they can and putting the minimum effort into these games. I did not have to blow away smoke with my fan, however, or use a corkscrew as a drawer opener. That's a good thing. Bonus chapter was, again, short. Not too great. 3 stars is pushing it with this game.
I kind of liked this game. I like this series, which I believe is modeled after Secret City. It was quite a long game. I still don't like DO's HOS, but played some of them. The puzzles were ok, but I'm not a puzzle person. The story actually kept me entertained and the bonus chapter was pretty good.
I try. I played the entire demo hoping a spin off of Cinderella may be good. However, I am quickly bogged down by finding something to dig up a small patch of dirt because I don't want dirty hands, constructing a rake so I can move a tiny pile of leaves which apparently hinders the opening of the garage door, etc etc. As always with Domini, the graphics are great. I am not a fan of their HOS. I can never tell what they're looking for so I play the match 3 which I'm not a fan of either. It's been a long long time since Domini changed back to making their Match 3 game related. I am going to have to pass on this one. I'm hoping to see some other developers out there come in with a game. I miss the games they made deeply. I will live in the past and replay older games until then.
I started playing the game, and thought, hey this isn't bad. I was kind of enjoying it. Not that I quite understood how the title fits into an elf whose hammer gets de-magiced. And then.... it was over. This has to be the shortest Christmas game I have ever played. Very disappointed in Elephant games. I remember when their Christmas games were charming and magical. Now, it's slap it together and charge a lot for nothing.
Really DO? This is what you manage to churn out? OK, as with most DO games, the visuals are very nice. There however is no music, barely any dialogue except from a very annoying girl. The scenes are so stuffed with "things" I can't find up from down. This series has never appealed to me, but the other games were OK. This one is a hot mess. I don't know what the story is, except the turtles are sick. Please please bring us a game that is intriguing and challenging. Pretty please.
After Message in a Bottle and Emily's Christmas Carol, this game seems to have changed, and not in a good way. The characters are cartoonish and The Miracle of Life didn't have a setting for easy, medium or hard. I skipped that one. This game seems to need a bigger cursor. It kind of whites out and I can't see what it's pointing at. Also, even on easy, it's way too hard. Feels like the Dash games of old. Bring the old Emily back.
I dislike giving games 1 star and I rarely do. Until we come to DO games. They had one job. Put out a Christmas themed HOPA. They failed. This game has ok graphics. Usually I can say the graphics in DO games are great. Not this time. HO scene after HOS. I just can't. It is so hard for me to discern the art work of the HOS between what they are looking for and what is on the junk pile. I ended up playing match 3. I basically could have bought a matcch 3 game and had more fun. I cannot even tell you what the story was about because there essentially was no story. I am very very disappointed in this game, in DO games, and BFG for choosing this game to be released. Christmas games used to be magical and something to look forward to. Not this one. I don't recommend this. Glad I only played the demo.
I played the demo and enjoyed it. Bright and cheerful. I did not purchase, only because the pace gets hectic very quickly and the customers lose their patience quickly. I try to play games to relax, but this one worked me up LOL. Perhaps when it's a standard edition. Wish there was a slower pace.
A middle of the road game for Do. I was happy to see a Halloween game, thus the 3 star rating. Very illogical gameplay took away from the fun of playing. As always the graphics were great. I didn't love it, didn't hate it. It just didn't give me even a slight chill. I long for a true spooktacular game at this time of year.
