Although the demo seemed very short to me, I went ahead and purchased the game, because of the great reviews it got. It was good, but pretty short which I suppose was an answer as to why the demo was short. Some of it, didn't make a lot of sense, but do any of them anymore. It was fun and killed a few hours.
Graphics were excellent as were the voice overs and music. The effects went along with the action in the story and the colors weren't all that drab this time.
I found the hidden objects to be varied and interesting. I didn't quite understand some of them, like the wishes, but all in all they were good. There were lists, shadow, interactive and others. As easy as I found the hidden objects, I found the mini games as difficult. Being fair, I do not like mini games, but I do try to play them and did complete a few. Some I just simply could not figure out what to do. There are several scenes where you need to figure out on your own what needs to be done in a game type situation. There is a map. It transports you, but that was about the only reason for it. There is a legend, but it doesn't hold your hand and show you were things need to be done. You collect things along the way with the promise you'll use them later. I either missed using them or the brick wall was it. That was a let down.
As I said, the story kind of winds around. There is a story there, but it doesn't make sense at times. It definitely doesn't give you a hint as to what to do or what's happening next. Little bit weak on the story this time around.
Just a little aside. In a minute, I'm going to be asked for my current favorite game and I hate to say it, but I don't have one. This game is about as close as the ones I have purchased here lately in being good enough to call a favorite. We need a change of pace from the ghosts and monsters to some life-like stories.
Give this one a shot. It isn't a long game, but it is worth the time, effort and money to get it.

This was a lot of fun. The game kept my interest as I hibernate in this cold snap that has hit FL and I played almost all day on it. The one thing I loved about the game was the main character was male for a change. Love it when that happens. I have most all the games in this series and enjoyed this one as much as the others.
Graphics were really good along with the colors which were for the most part very pretty. The effects and voice overs were well done. Perhaps it could have used a few more voice overs in parts, but the ones that were done were great! There are parts which tell a story and are drawings. I swear there were voice overs on the first ones telling the story and all of a sudden they ceased. Not a deal breaker, but it did seem odd. Of course I could have been listening to the voices in my mind, but still... Music wasn't intrusive and went along with the action.
There are numerous types of hidden object games. From the regular list, to morphing, to shadow, and interactive. I know I'm leaving some out, but that is the majority of them. Never a dull moment with them. They are well hidden and aren't just a junk pile of stuff thrown on a page. The mini games... that's a different story. I tried to do all of them, but for the life of my I couldn't figure out what I was suppose to do in most. I'm very thankful the developers had custom as one of the difficulty levels, because I set mine to the fastest possible. If you love mini games, difficult ones, you're going to love this game. Don't let what I said about the mini games turn you off. I'm not a mini person anyway, and that may cloud my judgement. There is an interactive map which not only transports you, but shows where there are things to be done. I was about done with the game when I realized all I had to do was move to the sides of the map and it would move. There were times it wasn't showing anything and I would use a hint and get transported. I thought they were really dumb, until I realized I was the dumb one. So, keep that in mine. There isn't a jounal, but an evidence board and honerstly, I don't see the value of it, but it is there for you to use.
I do believe I got ahead of myself in the story, because I kept getting to places that something should have occurred before, but hadn't. Sure enough in another scene or two there it was. Other than that, it is a good story. It is a bit weak in the ending, but the rest of it was pretty interestng.
Give it a try. The demo is free, but I would almost bet once you get into the game it will be a buy for you too.

I so wanted to like this game, but it fell short in so many ways, I was pretty disappointed. To say it was fun is an over statement. I have played several games with the Templars as the theme, and none have been that great. I just don't understand why.
The graphics were okay. Nothing special to write home about, but acceptable. Voice overs were well done. However, some scenes had lip movement, some didn't. Not continuity in this area at all. The music went along with the action. There was some things that must have been lost in interpretation, because there were times what was being said had nothing to do with the scene.
There were an over abundance of mini games. Not my highlight in any game, but I simply could not figure out what to do with some of the games at all. I was so glad I used the custom and set the skip as fast as I could. Hidden objects were well done. Some were pretty challenging, expecially when what you were looking for was something different. For example, when is a bowling ball not a bowling ball? When it's a bowling pin you needed to select. There is an interactive map that is extremely helpful. I would have been lost without it. The hidden objects were lists with some interactive parts. No complaints about the HOS.
I won't go into the story, because Big Fish does a good job setting it up. There is a continuity problem with it, but not enough to complain about. The only really bad part is the ending leaves open a sequel or two. I just hope the upcoming ones are better done than this one.
I bought this with a free game, so I can't complain too much, but I don't recommend paying full price for it. This game is not the ususal standard of these developers or Big Fish. I'm really surprised it was offered.

Unfortunately, this one was not fun for me and I couldn't wait to have the demo end. I really don't know what has happened to this developer, but the quality has gone downhill for a while now. I use to buy without even trying the demo. Now, I approach their games just like anyother developer.
I gave the visuals and sound a 4. Had it been on graphics only, I wouldn't have given it that high, but the sound, especially the voice over scenes were excellent. The graphics, simply drawn and not very well I might add.
The killer for me was the mini games. I have another of this series and while it has been a while since I've played it, I do not recall having one mini game after the other and that is what this seems to have at least in the demo. I'm not a mini game person and that just spoiled it for me.
The story is about what you would expect. It seemed to begin in the middle of something and when the demo ended, it was a cliff hanger. I would almost buy the game just to see what it has for an ending, as though we couldn't guess.
Unfortunately this is not a buy for me, however if you like mini games you're going to love this one. Give the demo a try as always and see what you think. You might just love it.
I have to admit this game was a tremendous disappointment. I expected much ... MUCH better from these developers than what I got. I did purchase this game, even with my disappointment following the demo. A mistake I'm afraid. I just knew VASI would pull this one out as they have before, but they failed. This game was just not fun for me whatsoever.
The graphics were fine, especially the backgrounds. Hidden objects were clear, if not well hidden, but the lack of imagination in the voice overs was nothing to brag about. There is no animation in the voice overs. Just a box with a character in it with the same expression used in the previous boxes. Gal finds out her sister has been murdered and she has a smile on her face. Very poor planning on their part. Although the voice sound was very good, the graphics destroyed whatever good that produced. The music was non-intrusive and seemed to go along with the action in the game.
While I did enjoy the hidden objects which were varied in content, the mini games... I'm just thankful I had the skip set at it's lowest time. I could not figure out what to do most of the time and the ones I did figure out were well above my abilities to perform. I don't like mini games to begin with, but these were just off the charts as far as I'm concerned. There are several levels of play including custom which I try to use whenever available. If I can't find something I can't find it and to sit her for a couple minutes waiting for the skip or hint button to charge is a waste of time. The map was helpful in getting around and finding things to do, but I did find myself using this hint button more in this game than I have in a long time just trying to figure out what in the world to do or where to go. The map didn't always sent you in the right direction.
The story started out okay, but it didn't take long for it to get so convoluted it was difficult to follow. There is a camera that will take pictures of things you will use later in the game. It will glow when you need to take a picture and then stores it in the album. There is one game at the dart board and I went though that album several times trying to find the date and never did find it. I don't know if I missed taking a picture or what, but I ended up having to go to the walkthrough to find the answer. It did have an ending, for which I am extremely thankful.
Play the demo and see what you think, but understand, in my opinion, it doesn't get any better as the game progresses.
I really enjoyed playing this great game. It was nice and long with thrills at about every curve. Even though I did tire a bit on a couple of the hidden objects and some of the puzzles, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The one thing that made this a buy for me, was I got to chose if I was a male or female. Those high heels I have to dig out to play most games hurt my feet. Don't know how you ladies do it... :-)
The graphics were awesome! Pretty and not so dark even though they were dealing with a dark subject. Music wasn't bad and went along with the action in the scenes. Voice overs and effects were excellent. Just a well put together game.
I am tiring somewhat of that shadow hidden objects, but there are so many different things going on in the scenes, they really didn't bother me that much. The mini games... well they were mini games. Most I did do, but some were either too involved or I didn't understand and gave up on them and hit the hint. There is an interactive map which does show actions to be done and transports you. I lived on the map so it is pretty important to me.
I won't go into the story. Others have done that an Big Fish does a great job laying the ground work for it. The story is a complete one, easy to follow and gripping. There is an end, but the groundwork for another in the League series must be in the works. I've got a few of this series and I do believe I like this one the best.
Give the demo a shot and I think you will be hooked like I was.
I found this game to be a lot of fun. Well worth the money. It was a lengthy game with lots of things to keep you busy.
The graphics were well done. Hidden objects were pretty clear, and the backgrounds were excellent. Sound too was very well done. Music not intrusive and went along with the story. Voice overs were exceptional as well.
This is my kind of challenging game. Hidden objects were many and varied, I mean a lot of different ones to solve. Part of the challenge to them was figuring out what to do with them. Mini games must have been pretty simple, because I did the majority of them. I have to admit I did get a bit tired of the same puzzles when I had to capture the lights and did skip them after a while simply because I got tired of doing the same thing over and over. If you like puzzles you are going to love this game. There is an interactive map which shows active areas and with all the back and forth it is a must. There are several levels of play including custom, which I used to I could reduce the wait times for the hint and skip.
I didn't have any problems following the story. It flowed well and did have a decent ending. I'm still trying to figure out what the daughter and her boyfriend had to do with everything, but I'm sure they fit in there some how or another. It was a decent story and kept my interest most of the time.
As I said, if you like puzzles, hidden objects (a bunch of different ones) you're going to like this game. Give it a try and you can get the Professor out of the Mist too. Enjoy!
This was a really fun game for me. Although the Smithsonian series is my favorite this ranks right up there. With all the action and the information cards that are a part of the Hidden Expxedition series, it just makes the time fly.
The graphics were very good, although perhaps a bit lacking from the other games, they were very good. Sounds, music and voice overs were excellent as usual.
This is my kind of game challenge. Enough to make me think some, but not enough that I get discouraged and immediately look for the hint or skip button. Hidden objects were mostly pictures, and interactive puzzles. They were well hidden and the scenes were clear and rather organized. The mini games must have been really easy or I grew a brain over night, because I played most of them. If you are one who loves the challenge of those minis you will probably be disappointed. You have an interactive map which transports and shows where there are things to do.
The story was good. I did get a bit confused toward the end, but not enough to hurt the story as a whole. I probably just missed something along the way that tied it together.
All in all this is a darn good game. Give the demo a try and you'll get a taste of what lies ahead in the rest of the game. I think you'll enjoy it as I did.
Had a good time with this one. Elephant did a great job all the way around.
Graphics were excellent as were the effects and voice overs. I had the music turned down so I can't really comment on it. Everything was clear and the colors very nice.
The hidden objects were varied. There are the lists, sihouettes and other variations. Kept me me interested all the way through. Mini games were numerous and also varied. Not much we haven't seen before, but they were pretty decent. I actually had the patience to play most of them. I did have some difficulty understanding some of them, but that's why they have the skip button. There are several levels of play and you can chose which you like. I picked custom so I could set the skip and hints at a faster rate. The interactive map was helpful. It showed areas where there were things to do and would transport me wherever I wanted to go.
The story was interesting. It had some twists and turns that caught me by surprise, but it was a very decent story. Love is fickle and this showed it.
I don't know if the game was shorter than most or it was just so interesting that time flew. I don't really know how long it took to play, but it seemed like it was over before I expected it to be.
Give the demo a shot. I think you'll like this as much as I did.
Good little game. It was fun and made the day pass rather quickly. As I will mention later, there is a helper. If you aren't one to watch the credits at the end of a game, I whole heartedly suggest you make an exception with this game. It is good.
The graphics were really good. Nice and clear with scenes that were, not only attractive, but interesting just to look around. Music went right along with the plot and action in the scene and I caught myself getting caught up in it and pushing a little faster. Yes, I know, I'm easy, but it did get my heart racing a bit. Effects were also well done and the voice overs, while really clear and well done, were a tad bit melodramatic, especially the heroine. She slides down a rope to escape a burning building and acts like she just got off of a zip line in the Amazon. Hum.. Other than that, the sound was really good.
I would probably rate this for a beginner or an intermediate who just wants a nice relaxing day on the computer. The hidden objects are not difficult at all and the mini games must be relatively simple, because I played them. There are several different types of hidden objects and mini games. Most of the minis we have seen, but there are a few new twists to them. This is my kind of challenge. The ever present interactive map is a big help, and there is a kind of a journal, I guess. I didn't use it, but when I looked at it, just couldn't make much out of what it was to do. There is, what they call a panda, but there must be more kinds than the black and white bears I call a panda. He is cute and isn't obnoxious like some of the others we get. Gets in, does his job and gets back on his perch.
The story is good and it did grip me from the beginning. It has continuity for the most part, There were a couple places I was wondering, but it eventually caught up with itself. There is an ending which is a plus in my book.
There is a lot about this little game I'm sure I'm leaving out, but I'm not sorry I bought it. The demo to me was rather short, but I got enough to know I wanted it. One of the better ones to come out here lately. Give the demo a try and I think you'll be hooked too and you can then scream about the gold in them thar hills...
