I found this game to be interesting and fun. Not necessarily the game I had come to expect from Eipix, but acceptable nonetheless. It was fun enough to pass a couple rainy FL days.
Graphics were well done. The colors, although with an abundance of pinks and grays, were acceptable. Sound, including the music and voice overs were extremely well done.
I gave the level of challenge three stars, because of the mini games. They were repetitious and way too difficult for my patience level. I didn't understand most of the time what I had to do, and lost interest in them right away. There is an interactive map which was a must for me. I could not, even when I tried, figure out where to go next from the story. I would have been wondering forever around the city. There are several degrees of difficulty from which I chose the custom settings so to get the skip and hint to refill quicker. There are several different types of hidden object scenes which kept my interest. Some were very easy and some needed quite a bit of thought. It seemed as though there was always one item I had to really search for in each scene. I mentioned the mini games, which there are a lot. Some I would consider mini games like putting pictures together, were difficult and offered no help even with the use of the hint button. I ended up needing to go to the walk through to get a solution. Those who enjoy these types of mini games will love this one.
The story isn't anything new. Got gargoyles and clay creations that do battle to save the kingdom. Evil versus good. It's time to get something realistic in these games, but that is a personal opinion.
Give the demo a try, it's nice and long and you get a great idea of what the game is about. I think you will enjoy it especially if you like mini games.
This was a cute, fun game. I enjoyed it more than most I've played here lately, because it wasn't about witches, ghosts and other supernatural beings. Just a good old fashion who dun it.
Graphics were well done. Colors were natural and not dark with purples and pinks all over the screen. Music was pleasant and went along with the action in the scene. Voice overs were pretty well done, although the lip sink didn't always go with what was being said, but that is minor.
This is my type of challenge. I hate mini games, but I found the majority of these well within my patience level and I did do most of them. Hidden object scenes were rather simple. There were lists and a few silhouettes, which I don't really care for, but these were well done. The mixture between hidden objects and minis were just about right for me. There is an interactive map which transports and does show you where there are things to do. I did have a little difficulty with the map. I couldn't always tell what things were. It is a different type of map and the colors showing various areas were hard to make out. I chose the custom level of difficulty for the quick charging hint and skip buttons, but there are five, I believe, from which to chose.
The story was well put together. I want to play this again to see what I missed, because somewhere along the line I missed why the folks were being murdered or hurt. I played this in several settings, because I had other things to do, so that may very well be the reason. The continuity was extremely good.
Don't know that this game would be for hardcore gamers, but for people like me who just like a relaxing time doing mindless chores this is for you. Give the demo a try and I think you'll enjoy it too.
I found this to be an okay game. Nothing to really write home about, but it passed a few hours on a rainy Florida afternoon. It was shorter than I anticipated, compared to the others in this series, but it was fine.
I was a bit surprised in the lack of action in the graphics. There as little to talk about. Colors were fine and the voice overs were acceptable. It was like they had run out of ways to wow us. Perhaps it is time to retire the series and move on. The music was the same as all the other and was a bit gritting on the nerves. Pretty much the same thing over and over. There are several degrees of difficulty of which I chose the custom so I could set the skip and hint to its quickest times.
There was a good mixture of hidden objects and mini games. Nothing we haven't seen before and several minis were repeated throughout the game. I didn't like that at all. Hidden objects were varied and clear with several different types offered. You have an interactive map which I found very necessary in getting around. It did show places where things were to be done.
Story was pretty much the same as most of them. It was difficult for me to follow for some reason, and didn't make sense at times, kind of like I skipped ahead and then came back. It just seemed to lack originality or something didn't appeal to me. Like I said, maybe it's time to retire the werewolves wherever werewolves retire.
I'm not sorry I bought the game, but it sure could have been better. Give the demo a try and perhaps you will have a better experience than I.
This was a cute little game. Everything pretty much came together, even though there were ghosts in it. I know, I swore I wasn't going to buy anymore supernatural themed games, but hey, I guess that's all we're going to get. I almost didn't buy it because of the theme, but I'm glad I did. It was a bit different than most ghostly games we're use to playing.
Graphics were excellent as were the effects and voice overs. Music was good and went along with the action in the scene. Although a supernatural theme, the colors were not the usual pinks and dark colors.
This game was my level of challenge. Good balance between hidden object scenes and mini games. I actually did many of the minis which surprised even me. It isn't a difficult game, but challenging enough to keep me busy for a couple of hours. Yes, it is a tad bit short, but packed with action. There are four levels of difficulty. I chose the custom so I could set the hint and skip at their lowest level. There is an interactive map, which came in quite handy. With a lot of back and forth it was an asset to me. It also shows where there is something to do. I found this a must for me.
As I said, it's kind of a ghost story, but it isn't consumed with them. She kind of helps out along the way as you attempt to save the kidnapped girls and catch the murderer. It is a decent story and is pretty good at continuity, keeping my interest all the way through.
Give the demo a try and I think you'll enjoy this one too.
I swore I wasn't going to purchase anymore supernatural games, and I wish I had stayed with that promise. I bought this because there was another game I wanted and it was a two for one sale. I have the others in this series and enjoyed them, so I thought this would be like them. I was wrong. It wasn't near as much fun as the previous games. I am chalking it up to the fact I'm tired of the the supernatural themes, but this game really lacked what the others offered. There were spelling errors, and grammar errors and the list goes on. It wasn't a horrible game by any means and I don't want to come off like that, but this lacked the quality of what I have come to expect from Elephant. It was a great way to spend a rainy Florida day.
Graphics were good as were the voice overs. They seemed to lack the voice overs as in the previous games, but what they had were well done. Colors were good and the scenes were clear. The music went along with the action and was't too bad at all.
There are an over abundance ... WAY TOO MANY .. mini games. I'm talking one right after the other. They weren't difficult, but enough is enough. It was like a broken record. Thankfully I played in the custom mode and could skip quickly. I really don't know what they were thinking when they put this one together. The hidden object scenes were varied. There were silhouettes, lists and a variation of each. There were many more minis than hidden objects hence the low rating on the challenge. You have different levels of difficulty of which to play. As I said I chose custom for the quick hint and skip recharge. The interactive map was very helpful. It would transport and show where there were actions to perform.
I was a bit disappointed in the story. I'm going to need to play it again, because I simply cannot tell you what was going on. I got lost in the beginning and then it just became a desire to get through the game. Surely it is something I missed. I can't believe Elephant would put out such a poor story.
If you are one who loves mini games this one is for you. As I said, this wasn't a terrible game, but it sure didn't live up the the previous versions. I'm not sorry I bought it, but I sure wish these designers would get off the ghosts and supernatural stuff.
This was a fun game, if for no other reason than it didn't have a supernatural theme. I'm so tired of those things I could just scream, but I won't. I was caught from the very beginning, more for the story than the game itself.
Graphics were very well done. They were clear and colorful. Voice overs were the box at the bottom of the page, which I thought Eipix had stopped doing, but they were well done. I enjoyed the music. It wasn't intrusive and actually pleasant to listen to and went along with the action in the scene. Effects were also well done and went along with the story.
There was nothing new so far as the games went. There were several different types of hidden objects ranging from lists to interactive and everything in-between. Kind of a junk pile, but they were challenging enough it kept me busy. The only problem I have with some, the smaller box that opens and you have to find objects, are hard for me to see. I find most of the things, but usually end up having to use a hint to complete it. Nothing new in the mini department. As usual, I skipped most of them. Just do not have the patience to push this and pull that to get it done. One day... nah, it ain't gonna happen. There are several degrees of difficulty. I always use the custom so I can set the hint and skip buttons to the quickest settings, but you can chose up to the most difficult if you wish. Although not a difficult game, it was enough to keep me busy for a few hours. There is an interactive map, which comes in very useful, because there is quite a bit of back and forth in this. It shows where there is something to be done which I really like.
As I said, the story was what caught my interest. I won't go into the story, because Big Fish does a great job setting the scene, but it has the continuity I look for in a story. There were a few times I got lost in, but all in all it was told very well.
Just because there isn't a lot new in this game, I would suggest giving it a try. The demo was nice and long giving you a great taste of the game. I think you will like it.
I have been waiting for what seems an eternity for the SE of this game to come out, because I loved the previous ones. It was about time! I found this game, although a bit weaker than the previous ones, very acceptable and fun to play. AND it wasn't about witches, ghosts and other supernatural beings. Thank you Eipix for a well deserved break from them. Also, it had a male hero, so I didn't have to go put my dress and heels on to play. It sure passed the time during this rain we've been getting.
Graphics were well done. The colors were realistic and not just the usual pinks and drab visuals. Voice overs were well done, but not the usual you would expect from this developer. Just a bit weak on them, but they were acceptable. I enjoyed the music. It wasn't over bearing and went along with the action in the scenes just like the effects.
I was really surprised at how long this played. When I was downloading it and saw the amount of data, I thought it was going to be really short, but it was just long enough for my attention span. It would have been much longer had I played, or attempted to play those mini games... ugh! You have several levels of difficulty. I chose the custom so I could set the skip and hint buttons to their lowest levels, but you can play the casual all the way to that for hardline gamers. The hidden object scenes were varied. Nothing new to them. Lists, shadows, and the put together cards and you pick what they are. The mini games... some were simple, but the majority were beyond my patience level. It seemed like most of them repeated the actions to complete. Once is enough for me. There were a few I just couldn't figure out what to do with them. Again, not really anything new in the mini game category. The interactive map was very helpful. It transports, but also shows where there is something to be done. I love that. I don't believe I used the hint button the entire game, so I can't comment on what it does.
I won't go into the story, Big Fish gives you an synopsis of it better than I can. Let me just say the story was well done. It had me from the beginning all the way through the game with enough twists and turns to keep me guessing.
Give the demo a try and see if you don't think it is a worthy game. Like I said, it is a bit weaker than the previous games in the series, but well worth your consideration.
As you know this is the tenth edition of this saga. Although it was a decent game, it fell below the standards set by the previous versions. It was fun, but not like I expected. The reason I purchased this game is because it wasn't about a ghost, witch or super natural in nature. I am so tired of those themes. Thank you Elephant Games for the break.
Instead of using real people, as before, they were all drawn. That was the first let down in this one. That is not to say the graphics were not well done, they were, but it just lacked the authentic flare of the others. Voice overs were well done as were the effects. I really liked the music in this. Very good listening. Colors were realistic and not drab.
I was a bit disappointed in the hidden objects. The majority seemed to be silhouette, which is not my favorite. There was one which was interactive, but that is the only one I can recall. There are a few with lists, but as I said the majority were silhouette. I found the mini games confusing to the point I just could not figure out how to do them or were well beyond my patience level to attempt. Thank goodness I used the custom setting and the skip charged quickly. They were nothing we haven't seen before, but seemed to be very involved in solving. Those who like mini games will like this one. The mini games ruined this one for me. There are several levels of difficulty, an interactive map which does show areas with something to do and will transport you to anyplace you want to go. Of course, ALF was there, and seemed to be used more in this game than the previous ones.
The story was decent. I won't go into the story, because Big Fish gives you enough detail that you get the idea. It did flow well from scene to scene and the continuity was very good. I didn't see a flaw in it at all.
It did seem to be a short game, but I'm chalking that up to the fact I skipped so many mini games. I would probably still be playing if not for that. The demo was short, so don't base your opinion solely on it. You get a taste of the game, but there is a lot more to it.
I was really disappointed in this game. I've not heard of this developer before, so perhaps this is one of their first attempts at a game. It simply was not fun. I was rather relieved when the demo was over.
The graphics were okay. They were clear and kind of realistic, but the sound was not very good. The voice overs, what there was of them made me laugh. There was a dialog box that appeared, but no lip movement. On the character in the background, the lips moved. I thought that funny. For some reason everything was very small on my computer. It could be my computer that was the problem, but the other games I played worked just fine. It didn't even fill my screen. Music wasn't all that bad. Effects were fine and went along with the scene.
Hidden objects were varied and interesting to do, when I could see the scene. Again, everything was so small. I would get things without knowing by clicking and something would clear on my list. I didn't play too many of the mini games. It seemed like most were do this and it will effect that, which is my most hated mini. So far as tools, the map was helpful. It allowed me to transport and it did show where there was something to be done. There are three degrees of difficulty of which I chose casual. The hint and skip recharged quickly, which was good, because I used that hint button on a regular basis. There just didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason for what needed to be done next.
Nothing new in the story. Paranormal monster did something and the manager was involved somehow. The demo ended before it really got into the story. It didn't grab me and make me want to find out how it ends.
This was a very weak game. I thought about getting it because there is a big sale today, but I'll keep looking. Just not much to write home about with this one.
I almost didn't give this one a second glance, because of the disappointing second edition. It was horrible. I am so glad I didn't listen to myself. I really enjoyed this one! I've spend the last four days, off and on, playing and just completed it. It was a fun few days.
The graphics were excellent. As you build the expansion of the Imperial Island, it brought back memories of the first game. There isn't a lot of sound with the exception of the music which is on a loop, but it isn't horrible. They added a new twist to the game where it announces you have found a bonus of some sort, but that's about it for sound. The effects were very well done.
This game offers so much. It has not only the match 3, but hidden objects as well. It seems as though they gave me more of those dreaded monsters which pop up out of nowhere and another twist, the green key which inverts the field. Just a word of caution. Be careful when you activate them, because it can get you into a world of trouble. It offers a challenge in the match 3, but the hidden objects are very simple. This is one of the best, if not the best, match 3 I have played.
Not much to the story, of course. You're building the island, fight off dragons, pirates and other nasty things along the way.
I'm really excited about this game and in a few weeks I'll play it again. I was really sorry to see it end.
