I loved and hated this game. While it was interesting traveling to different countries to save your betrothed, the cursor was real "iffy" and sporadic. The reason the challenge was excellent was because the explanation on some puzzles made no sense to me. That being said the skip button works well. :) I think it could have been better.
The storyline was great. Graphics were wonderful. The only bad things was that it definitely needed a map which it didn't have and if you are like me and take a few different play times, EVERYTIME I tried to quit it would glitch out. To get out had to do ctrl/alt/del . With this being said I really liked this game. There were a couple of puzzles that weren't very clear as to how they are played. Also, I saw no way of changing the "skill" level on sparkles, etc.
This game was just phenomenal. You have a variety of HOS styles as well as mini games inserted in the HOS. The puzzles weren't overly difficult and some brought nice childhood memories. The graphics are well done. I totally recommend this game....and now am going to go find more by this maker
Return once more to the haunted grounds of Ravenhearst Manor to uncover new details about this poignant saga. What you find could very well be the final chapter of this riveting story-if you escape.

It is creepy, challenging and totally worth the money. It is my new favorite game. The "mother" duties were truly disgusting and I loved it. YES YES YES

I started this game TWICE. Wish I'd played the demo first, The story is alright but the cursor is so annoying that it's too much like work. You have to move it ten places on the screen before it allows you to go back. I gave it ten minutes twice and got too irritated so get at your own annoyance.
You are trying to rescue your fiance from a psychopath. It's like being stuck in a "saw" movie. He is taunting you through video/speaker set ups throughout a three story mansion. There is alot of running around with got easier 1/2 through when I realized there was a map. The game just got you hooked and I didn't even see it, lol. Must play with sound. I now wish I had gotten the CE.
This game is very different. It is esssential to watch the cutscenes to get a good grip on the storyline. The graphics aren't great and if I could change one thing it would me the HOS. Rather cluttered with things that aren't on the list and most of the objects you have to find, instead of being an "item" is drawn on something instead. This lessened as the game went on. Overall I liked this game.
While I agree with one of the reviewers about the hint button. What should I do here? got really annoying because obviously we need to do something. I played this on advanced and didn't have any problems. An interactive map made life alot easier due to not having to run around alot. The graphics are nice and overall it was enjoyable. Music was nice and the story was interesting.
I am still trying to decide if I like this game. The graphics are good, the puzzles quite easy and the HOS gushing with sparkles to let you know what to do. Unfortunately the main areas to look barely have sparkles and I walked by quite a few. When first playing these games I would get creative and try to use a shovel to pry open a grate to be told of course that it isn't useful. Here (now that you are programmed lol) you use a weather vane for weighty item, a flagpole for a lever and who doesn't use an antenna to fix a ladder? I just don't know. I recommend the demo first. I won't buy another without checking but the MCF name was good enough for me. LOTS of running around.
This game was very interesting. I loved having to collect the cards. The hos were a little grainy and difficult to see in some areas. The storyline was good. I would've liked to have had a map and/or a hint button during gameplay when you get lost. That being said, I am going to go look for more of this series.
