Review based on demo: I love this game, so far! The puzzles are challenging, for the most part, but not too hard (I did skip one, out of frustration). The HOS scenes (there are only 3 in the demo...one of which is a "repeat") are good...some objects take a bit of searching to find, and isn't that the point? The story line is entertaining, so far. I will admit I am not playing the game for the story, I play for the HOS and the puzzles, so the story is a bonus, if it's good. I am a bit disappointed in the collectibles in this episode. The morphing objects are pretty easy to spot, and the piles of leaves just seem ridiculous. I am trying not to use the indicator at the bottom...to make the collectibles more of a challenge. This being said, I still think it's a great game based on the puzzles, HOS, and just the general "feel" of the game. MCF are my favorite games...they always deliver, IMHO!
Review based on demo: A nice change from most of the games released lately. Beautiful colors, fun HOS, and the collectible crystals were just "hard enough" to find. I was not a fan of the morphing flowers...I think the Devs got lazy, in this feature. Also...I did not like the "chicken ride"....really? Are we 4? But, fortunately it was very short, and certainly did not ruin the demo for me.
This is the third review I have submitted for this game....(and I bet it won't get posted, either!) The number of stars I gave the game really gives my opinion...(and I am tired of typing out the details, just to have review trashed.)
Fun game. The HOS are what set this game apart from most of the usual ho-hum games these days....really well thought out, and original, for the most part!! (The tattoo-style of puzzle has been done by another Dev, and ....**spoiler alert**:...there was a "tell" in finding the shapes.) That being said, I loved the HOS. I am not willing to pay full price for this CE...so I will be waiting for a sale. Personally, there's just too much of same ole, same ole (pour acid on the lock, find an oilcan, etc) from this Dev...&, while much improved, in many ways, I still can wait...HOS are great, but don't warrant the price, IMHO.
Hang gliding onto campus....really?! I played this demo 2 nights ago, so have forgotten most of the details, but I do remember that this is not a purchase for me, and Eipix is one of my top favoite Devs...I buy almost every CE they put out. To be honest, I am not a fan of the "searching for clues" type of HO (? or is it a puzzle?) that this game has many of...way too many, IMHO. I used the hint button often, which I rarely do, usually, because there just didn't seem to be much logic in the tasks at hand. Or, because the "task area" was so small I couldn't locate it with my cursor...needed the Hint to point it out.
Based on most of demo: It's basically the exact same game as the last in the series....I really was expecting more, based on the ratings. Don't get me wrong, I loved the last game....but I wouldn't pay for the CE version of this, since it is so similar. I didn't even finish the demo. I also feel this Dev is behind in terms of graphics, etc. The collectible owls were pretty good, but they don't make it CE worthy, IMHO.
I am a huge fan of this Devs games...usually...but this was a dud, IMHO! Let's see...where do I start? Oh...the AWFUL graphics! I was really disappointed in this game's graphics. It felt as though they were in a huge hurry to release the game and didn't even finish in this department. Some scenes definitely looked "incomplete" and blurry. Colors seemed off, too. Second major disappointment were the terrible HOS, with very easy-to-spot items and no creativity. (Isn't this the main point of a "hidden object" game?) The collectibles (swirls) were also very easy to find. The morphing objects were somewhat better than the rest, but still not up to par, based on what Madhead usually delivers. I hope they will go back to the drawing board and rethink this series...
Come on....Really?! I am not this Devs #1 fan, but I couldn't even play the demo longer than 20 mins before deleting. Everything about this game was either ridiculous (story line) or predictable (inane tasks)...I just could not go on.
As always, try the demo for yourself! Might be a great game for a beginner who hasn't worn out the zipper-pull task...I certainly have!
Silly me!! After all the 5-star reviews, I thought I was trying a 5-star game....wrong again!! Morphing objects were easy to spot. HO puzzles were a bit different, but not in a challenging/fun way...still pretty basic, even with the change ups.And if this loser is my friend, well keep me away from my enemies!1st he lies, then he steals, then he climbs down the escape rope before me (what happened to ladies 1st?), breaks the rope, and leaves me trapped. And did I mention he was the one who insisted on our going to this stupid party to begin with? Graphics are a bit better than normal, for this Dev., but still lacking in comparison to other Devs these days. The story line is fitting for this time of year/theme. It is just the cookie-cutter game that Elephant puts out these days. IMHO they are all the "same, useless tasks, different game." It is not a purchase for me...maybe a good game for beginners.
The game was an immediate "No" for me due to the "collectible indicators" on the inventory bar. This is a feature that ruins an HO game, for me. I am also not at all impressed with this Devs graphics....poorly drawn, too may shades of purple, cartoon-like figures, etc. Fantasy or not, the story line was off. I'm not going to pick it apart...others have done that for you.
