This is a simple Hidden Object game for those just starting out on their HO journey or younger players 10+ years. The level of challenge is 1 out of 5. Graphics are dated, as is the character animation. Storyline isn't original, but okay. The prop design is superb and lots of beautiful looking artefacts. Mini puzzles are few and far between and not challenging.
Terrible script with multiple language errors, wooden voice acting, poor graphics! Couldn't complete the demo due to a glitch in a HOP. If Nancy Drew is a 10 this isn't even a 1. I don't know why they didn't employ a native English speaker to proof read the script or why the VO actors didn't correct their client. Strange abnormalities in the character builds too - sausage fingers and random leg bulges. Please remove from BFG.
I downloaded based on the other reviews, but was disappointed to find this a very basic puzzle and match 3 game. Maybe later levels have more variety. Lo-fi graphics make it seem like something from an 90s cd-rom.
If you enjoy wandering around a torture chamber on your own for an hour, you'll love this! No characters to interact with, lots of key/locks to open. No mini games, that I can recall. No narrative thread. I love Nancy Drew and was hoping this would be similar. Camera movement also made me dizzy!
I don't recommend this game.

Murder, She Wrote 2: Return to Cabot Cove
Take on the role of beloved murder-mystery writer Jessica Fletcher and return to lovely (but lethal) Cabot Cove!
This is a great game to ease players into the Nancy Drew series as there are many similarities, yet this is much simpler and heavy on the hidden object puzzles. Great value as you get 3 stories/games in one. Much better than the first MSW game. Loses a point because you can't mute the sound effects, which get annoying!
I've played 31 Nancy Drew games and this is one my my least enjoyable. The navigation is terrible and I had to use the alarm clock over and over to move the story on, which isn't much fun. The narrative should move the game forward, not a change in time. There are very few characters and you interact more with friends on the phone than anyone in the game. Ending: This really gains momentum at the end and is good, but I can't forgive the boring lull in game play in the middle.
I don't recommend this game.

This game feels very dated in terms of graphics and gameplay. The Big City Adventure and Cruise Director series are both far superior travel themed HOGS which I can recommend.
Having played all of the new Nancy Drew games, I thought I would go back and try this old one. Even in Junior mode I had to use a walkthrough and "phone a friend" a few times as it's not very intuitive. The visuals are dated and the characters can't move, so you have to use the alarm clock repeatedly to talk to them at certain times otherwise you can't progress. I enjoyed the research and mythology that went into the back story, but gameplay was slow and frustrating. It would be great if HER updates these older games as it would be fun to exit the building as in the newer games, which don't imprison you!
I've been looking for another "emerland solitaire" style game and this one doesn't come close in terms of challenge or visual style. It feels very dated.
