I dug this out of my archives and I'm glad I did. This is such a fun game. However one big caution - this is an old game, with an old engine. Even with my new (somewhat) powerful game laptop, it occasional froze and I had to restart, and it always locked up the computer when I quit the game. But all I needed to do was restart the computer and we were off again. So this old game is faulty, but not hopeless.
That being said, the devs definitely had tongue firmly in cheek when they drew and wrote these characters. Captain Hook relaxing in his old tree house (did he take over the lost boys house?) in pink bunny slippers; the three pigs as successful fabric sellers in the garment district, pesky pirates who need you to decide which pirate hats they should wear, and much more.
But the heart of the game is adventure where you trot all over fairyland looking for your lost wand, stolen by the proverbial wicked witch.
There isn't a lot of hand holding; like many of these old games it helps if you keep a list of what you need and where you need it, as there is no map. Does have a hint button that regenerates quickly and a journal to help you remember pesky details. This was a great game and I highly recommend it!

I enjoyed this very long game very much. It has enough HOS to satisfy even me, and the adventure aspect in figuring out what to do next is very good. No hand holding here, but it’s fairly intuitive if you go and search things out. I liked that it let you do this. No map, no transporting, but you were always within 5 clicks of where you needed to go. The bonus is a sequel and also very long. (N.B. the Bonus game is called “The Secret Room” in the extras, if you’re having trouble finding it.)
My only caveat is that I found some of the HOS excessively dark so much so that even when I clicked on hint, I couldn't see them; although I got better at looking at the dark spaces and clicking if I couldn't find the item anywhere else! This didn't happen to often so didn't affect my final score. This is a great game for HO fans!

This is a totally good game with lots of collectables, adventure and puzzles that are not too hard, and are skippable if they are. The story is not as charming as the first, but there is more adventure. They took out the hint of where to go next on the map, so you need to use the hint, which is too specific for me. I'd rather just be told the general area to go to and let me figure it out for myself. I really enjoyed these two games; they remind me of another series where the Nanny tells stories of the past! I highly recommend this game for Hidden Object Adventure lovers:)
This is a solid win for HO lovers. You are cast as a human to save another worlds' wizard. A crafty mouse (!) and a fairy like being kidnap you and bring you to their world to try and save their wizard. They take you through the caves and hallways to seek out groups of different rooms. In each room there are about 20 or so objects to find and then, with some of those objects, you can open a secret place and obtain the reward. Sometimes jewels, sometime runes. When you've collected all the objects and fixed all the problems, you are taken along to a new group of rooms or caves.
The art is cartoon like but very fun and very detailed. The coloring is rather gray toned, for the most part. My only objection is that it is a little too dark sometimes to find some of the objects, (hence the point taken off of visual quality) but you are given a hint button and I needed to use it several times when, what I thought was just black wall, had a hidden object in it.
This is very relaxing for a break from whatever - only give yourself about 15 to 20 minutes to solve each group of rooms.
By the way, newer fishies may not know that if you like a particular review, (in my case HO/Adventure/Fantasy) you can click on the name of the reviewer and be taken to their own little site where you will see all their reviews. I've found several games I would have missed in this way. Anyway, check out this cute little game, I think you'll like it.
To save your father from a hideous monster, you've decided to sacrifice your own freedom. Now you must journey through a strange and magical land before time runs out!
Stunning retelling of Beauty and the Beast, Lots of little Easter eggs for those who are fans of the animated version of the story. This has got to be up in the best 10 of the Fantasy/Adventure/Hidden Object Games since I joined in 2012. It captures that magic that only a few games do. For me it was like the magic of “Nutcracker” another wonderful game that is a classic. This is a very long game, but the adventure story and searches kept up my interest. The art work was creative and fun; I especially enjoyed the many odd characters I met in the story. ( And you couldn’t always tell if they were good guys or bad; their looks were no clue! One dragon like plant turned out to love honey, not people!) The collectable birds were scattered about, but not too hard to find if you were paying attention. They continue in the bonus game, but not right away, so don’t get caught napping! The bonus chapter is _not_ a prequel (which I hate) but a further story after the prince marries and they are “happily ever aftering” I don’t know how long it took me to play but I’m guessing around 20 hours. And I didn’t rush because there is so much to see and explore along the way. I Highly, highly recommend this game for all HO/Fantasy/Adventure fans!

I honestly think most folks don't know what a treasury of great tales BF has in these older games. This one starts off like a police procedural, and ends up in the Elven lands with a (brief) epic battle. There are enough hints to get you along but allows you to figure out things for yourself. One thing to note is that when the hand appears click on it, because that means you can get or do something. I recommend this game for those who love adventure and HO games!

I loved this game. Originally published in 2011 (a lifetime in games!) it really holds up. With minimum instructions you can follow Amanda into the late 1800's and solve all sorts of puzzles (like loading a coal burning engine!) and tons of HOS that are challenging but not impossible. This ought to be in every Fishies folder ( or whatever that thing is where they store our games). Do play the demo first as folks have all sort's of puters, but it did fine with my 2020 Dell model with no hiccups.
A mixed bag indeed. Aside form the rather clever use of a criminal helping to solve the bonus game mystery, this is very run of the mill with poor replayability. The morphing objects occasionally reappear after you’ve found them. Vague and often inaccurate help from the map. Colors were often acidic and strange. HOS were related to the game which was good. Puzzles average. I’m glad I got this on sale.

Because it's so old there was no interactive map. Hints took the form of a book where you could ask questions to get hints. And you could skip fairly quickly although I did try with all of them. A few I actually won! But the best part is the adventure and roaming around finding weird ghosts and solving the mystery. In the beg. you have to collect letters, but that stops pretty quickly. This is basically and adventure game with some fiendish puzzles, Now I'm the first to admit I'm not great at puzzles, but the adventure aspect of this game kept me hooked. I think puzzle groupies would love this! Also adventure lovers like me because the story is fairly unique and intriguing. You’ll never guess where you end up going! So, a qualified recommendation for Adventure/Puzzle fans. This game is fairly long and a good buy for an SE.
I really tried with this _very_ old game (originally 2003!) but I just couldn't justify the hours it would take to learn how to maneuver around and find things in this very cryptic ( in more ways than one) game. There were no hints, other than a walk through and no directions that were easily accessed. The first challenge on starting the game is to find all the directions. It was very dark, disorienting and painstaking work. After about 8 hours of this and only progressing to actually finding a statue ( nightmare trying to find something in a small crowded space with arrows that may, or may not lead you anywhere) I gave up. I might try some of the other Agon games to see if they are any better, but I'm giving a rare dis to this game.
