Yes, this is an old game, and a bit clunky.
Yes, they saved money by putting silhouettes instead of drawing the characters.
Yes, all that yes.
But they know how to make hidden objects interesting. There is the ones where you move, and as you move the perspective changes uncovering new objects.
There are the maps where you have to find cities by name to trace a route, or to discover the regions by shape.
There are the black silhouettes of enemies that you have to fight.
And the stuff that you find IS related to the story, not just alot of junk you have to dig into to find the one object you need.
The story, well, we all know about D'artagnan, the Three Musketeers, and the Queen's diamonds. It is here retold faithfully enough.
A bit short, but it is fun. And because the hidden searches are related to the story you do not have the sensation of another HOS to get through before the story continues.
I recommend this game!

This is not a game to be done quickly. Actually it will take months, even years. Just give it an hour or two a day.
You can choose to let time elapse when turned off, or to stop it. Both are convenient. If you plan to stop to do something else with the computer, you can let time go on. If you plan to stay away, or go to sleep, you stop time so you don't find your plants dead because of no water.
It takes time. Which means that it will be one of those games you have around.
And the flowers ARE beautiful. Just keep a record what crosses give you new plants or new flowers. There is a pattern to the flower crossings, and another for the plants. All plants have the same gamut of flowers so the combinations are endless.
Fun for years to come!
I recommend this game!

It is a fun match-3 game - timed.
Now this is not my cup of tea; I prefer games untimed, specially the ones when you have to think a bit.
But that is not the worst. After you fail, you have to start that level once again. Immediately. If you do not, you lose a life.
Never mind that you might be tired, or irritated, and thus less likely to do it right.
Other games ask you "Do you want to try again?" and if you say no, you can leave the game, and return to it when you feel like it.
Because of this, I do not recommend this game.

I know that it is a bit clunky, and that the translation suffers. But the storyline is there, straight from Verne, and you can get into the story.
The HOS are pertinent to the story, and they do advance the plot.
The visuals are great, specially under the ocean. It is kind of muted, for those who are addicted to real bright colors.
And you do not get into the mood "another damned HOS", get on with the story already!"
And you get to fight the Kraken!
I recommend this game!

If you played Hercules before, it is more of the same. Same cast of characters, same humor, with some added twists. With portals that make you run all over the place, and a challenging set-up. I played it in casual, and it took me two three tries to get the three stars on some levels. It is a question of knowing what to do first, and what can remain undone, as long as the objective is met.
It is a wonderful way to spend a rainy afternoon.
I recommend this game!

There are two activities in this game: Hidden object, which is so much more like thousand of hidden objects, and arcade games, in which you aim and shoot. Those get old fast, specially with one that you have to shoot when the power meter gets to the optimal level. If you are good at arcade games, you will enjoy it. If you are not, then you'll notice that there is no skip button.
As I said, it gets old fast.
I don't recommend this game.

This developer knows how to do HOGs right. We do not have trash piles to stop the action, and bore us with constant digging for the same items over and over.
The settings are beautiful, medieval and renaissance religious arts, and a HOS means looking at an old fresco or engraving and removing figures that do not belong there. The HOS are an intergral part of the story, and they keep your interest. (I love the map of Germany, where you have to find the cities named, one by one)
The story is reminiscent of Indiana Jones, with a priest doing the Indy role. It is grounded enough in history to hold your belief.
If more developers knew how to do things rights, we would not hate HOGs as we do.
I recommend this game!

Let's face it. We play games to have a good time, and this one delivers.
Yes, it is clunky compared with the more sophisticated games we are offered - the ones that we forget and become indistinguishable from one another.. The kind when we keep looking for certain shapes to open drawers, etc. etc.
This one you do not forget. And it makes you smile. And the HOS are NOT boring (I fell in love with the topiary HOS)
I want to seem more games of this developer.
I recommend this game!

It would be nice if we could see the pictures once completed, and to know what HOG/adventure game Ted and P.e.t. comes from.
But when you have beat a tough griddler with no hints, and no mistakes, by pure logic, and feel great about yourself, then who cares?
Good puzzles, all solvable by pure logic, some that seem impossible until you find the way.
Exactly what I want in this kind of game. The rest, colors, musci, story, pictures, is gravy on top, and in a pinch we can do without.
I recommend this game!

It is a bit old and clunky, but if you like a good storyline, clever dialogue, interesting twists, unexpected left turns, then it is the game for you.
So many developers use dialogue as a filler, or to give some information. Here the dialogue is part of the fun, "Be brave, Brad, time to run away."
You'll have a wonderful time/
