It should be a grim story, with its abducted children, but it is not. It has a nice narrative flow, and the backtracking is minimal. You sense a logical connection with your inventory. The HOS are a pure delight.
The only game that I think is that good and that much fun is Margrave: the blacksmith's daughter. This has the same feel.
The first three parts are delightful. You have to build and manage your resources, all while watching the whimsical antics of the characters, and the problems they have to solve (rolling the crocodile as hilarious). It is fun when you do not have enough wood to cover the quicksand, and the poor characters have to slog through it to get what they need.
The first three sections are a hoot. But the fourth... Yes, the idea to have to light up fires continuously is a great challenge, but after the third consecutive game it is not challenging, it is annoying. When I got annoyed enough I decided that since the object of a game was to have fun, and I was not having any, well, I would abandon it.
The fires challenge is OK for one, at most two. After that you try the gamers' patience.
What happened to the main character mother? Why does she have nightmares about it?
It will take several hidden object scenes with a few "find objects an use them" segments to get at the truth. The hidden object scenes are atmospheric and give hints as to what happened. They are inside of dreams, so the laws of gravity do not apply to them, and they are a jumble as can be expected. At the end of each HOS there is a new revelation, and some are explosive.
Just it goes to show. You do not need bells and whistles, just a good story, well told, with the minigames and HOS reflecting the main theme.
Are you ready to take on a challenge that will change the destiny of the whole kingdom? Help Victoria bring back the rightful heir to the throne and restore justice.
This game really makes you think. You can play it relaxed with no time limit, but you won't relax much. You find how easily you can run out of resources, and then you just have to restart. Then there are the enemies to handle, and you better have the musketeers with you. Add to it that you need to craft various objects with other items, and that you have some interesting powerups. And to top it, the visuals are gorgeous. Some of them look like Persian miniatures.
I can see why they called it Plagiarii, as they take plot points from other games, from the "waking up with no memory in a mental institution" to "medieval fairy tale". So what? It is fun, the HOS and minigames fun withtout being too hard.
A great way to spend a couple of hours - unless you are one of those for whom games have to be impossibly hard to be worth your time.
It is a wonderful ghost story, that you get to unravel slowly, as you travel through a place where there has been a flood (recently? a long time ago?) and meet three characters that let you know their stories bit by bit (actually, the other characters tell you by snippets). The HOS are solvable within reasonable time, and the minigames are very much in the atmospheric setting.
So, if you are in the mood for a nice ghost story, pick up this one.
I am stuck with several items I do not know what to do. I cannot pick up anything new. The map and hint system only tell me what I already know, that I need certain items for a few areas, with no idea where to pick them up.
Life is too short for this kind of aggravation.
This game stinks to high heaven (and I will no use stronger terms due to editiin policies here - but you know what they are)
This developer already gave us "Dreams of a Geisha" which is a beautiful soothing game. This is another beautiful, restful game. There are three modes of play, and you choose which ones. The music if very soothing. There are powerup, and also bombs. There are different levels of difficulty as you go along, but if you play relaxed mode, nothing disturbs your serenity.
This can be timed or relaxed. Since the music if very soothing, and the tiles and background are very beautiful, play it slowly, enjoying it, and finding the restful place within yourself. Four playing modes (swap, block, chain, and token-in-hand which means that you have to make a threesome using the token you are given). It gets progressively harder, but again, it is all beautiful.
3D Puzzle Venture takes puzzle gaming to a whole new dimension! With multiple levels of difficulty and 40 high-resolution puzzle images included, this is a game that every puzzle enthusiast is sure to enjoy!
If you like jigsaw puzzles this is for you. You can choose how hard or easy to make it, take your time, and then put the result in the gallery. You can move it closer or far away (it can get a bit disorienting when you do that). Nice pictures.
