Yet another game with all of my favorites - animation. VOs, IHOs, puzzles and great storyline. The music I can't comment on because, even with my headset on, I have the volume on low. I was happy of the fact that Kate was an avatar as opposed to animation. Wish I had reviewed this game last night after I had finished playing it. My memory doesn't seem to hold much anymore. LOL Not much of a review I know but I did love the game. It contained everything that any gamer would enjoy.
Just like the first Maestro game, this one is equally great. All my favorites - animation, VOs, HOs, puzzles and wonderful storyline. The hint button does take a while to recharge and tells you there is nothing to do here. No map and the journal tells you what you already know. Be prepared to jump from scene to scene. HOs were interactive and fairly clear with some objects harder to find than others. Strange as it sounds, didn't pay too much attention to the music, which was eerie, even though the story was about music. LOL My main objective was saving Alice. Give it a try.
I tried to play this game twice to give it a second chance but still couldn't get into it. It seemed tedious with the usual jumping from scene to scene. It's difficult to give this review since I did not complete the game. I'll just say to each his own.
Again, another game that had all of my favorites: live actors, VOs, HOs, puzzles. The HOs were clear and for once I didn't have to strain my eyes to find them. The psychic delving into Jane's mind to release her from torment was a great storyline but it doesn't stop there. Besides the HOs, you have to collect blue flowers along the way to purchase items. Since this was the CE, this part didn't matter to me and I didn't do the bonus game play. I prefer SEs for the price :|) and the storyline, not the bells and whistles. There didn't seem to be many puzzles but you did have to interact with the entire scene to find items in addition to the HOs so keep scanning with that mouse. Didn't much pay attention to the music because I was concentrating on helping Jane. Bravo to the DEVS!!!
Another winner with all of my favorites - animation (or more like live actors), VOs, HOs and puzzles plus creepy. Couldn't ask for more in a game. The music was a bit dreary at times but considering the storyline, that was to be expected. There was a journal but no map. The hint button refilled quickly and acted as a guide to direct you from one scene to another. Didn't have to use the walkthrough at all. Love that hint button!!! LOL HOs were fairly clear with some items being smaller than others. A great game! Go for it!!! I have a feeling a sequel may follow.
Totally loved this game! It contained all of the features I enjoy - animation, VOs, adventure, HOs and puzzles. The storyline was wonderful. You had to collect ducats along the way to purchase items. HOs were good, not dark and some items were small but I've seen worse. In the HOs, be sure to colllect two fans to add to the hints. HOs are repeated but with different items to find. The fans will only appear in the first HO. There's a journal but no map. The hint button refilled quickly but offered no help in going from scene to scene. The only answer I received was there's nothing to do here now. Got to look for other Grim Facade games. The music was relaxing in some areas and peppy in others. I was able to complete this game without using the walkthrough. That's saying a lot for me! LOL
Loved this game! I'm looking forward to a sequel. The storyline was the usual, find missing people. The scenery was gorgeous to me because it was set in the Autumn, my favorite season. My wish came true in this game - animation and VOs were excellent. HOs were good though some items were small and difficult to find. There were a few puzzles. There was a map but when I clicked on a location, it did not transport me anywhere. The hint button recharged quickly and guided me from one location to another. One scene made me jump in my seat. Didn't see that coming! LOL Talk about creepy! I didn't consider the scenes to be dark considering the nature of the storyline. Bottom line - get this game. You'll love it.
Shattered Minds: Masquerade had a good mix of VOs, HOs, puzzles, mini-games and some animation. The hint button wasn't much help except in the HOs. For direction, I had to use the walkthrough several times. The hint button would state nothing more to do here so I had to keep jumping from scene to scene. If there was a map, I didn't see it. Some HOs were small and difficult to see. Aside from that, it was a good game and the music was jazzy. Found myself swaying in my seat. LOL
