There are two modes of gameplay, Campaign, and Classic in this Bookworm similar game. The object in both modes is to spell words by connecting letters on the board in any formation (up, down, right, left, or diagonally) as long as they can be connected without skipping a space. The longer or more unique a word is, the more points you will earn, and you are awarded bonus points if you spell the Unique Bonus Word...of which you have no clue really as to what this word is until you spell it.
In the Campaign, Mode, you must successfully win the battle for each of the 10 regions and earn points equal to the number of points that the Barbarian Troops earn to win. Each battle gives you 3 minutes to spell words and there is a shuffle feature but the problem is that the letters you are given are basically crappy letters that make it impossible to create long words, much less unique words...the board is filled with Q's, Z's, W's, etc, with very few vowels, and it doesn't accept many of the words that games like Bookworm, Word Whomp, and Words with Friends accept. The end result is that you keep losing battles and the "hearts" you earn winning the people's trust, soon disappear as battle after battle is lost because the board gives you crappy letters to try to spell decent words within less than 3 minutes!
In the Classic Mode, you are basically playing the same game without the battle against the Barbarian Troops. If the word contains rare letters, additional points are awarded, and you have 3 minutes to finish each level. The Classic Mode also has a Unique Bonus Word for extra Points, and both modes allow you to double-click a word to submit it, versus clicking the submit button to save time.
The graphics are pretty bland, but I wasn't really expecting anything spectacular from a game that's nearly 10 years old. If this game had a better dictionary capability and the shuffle feature actually gave you more usable letters, I would definitely have purchased this game and would have given it 5-stars!

What a dreadful game! If the yodeling background music doesn't turn you off, the blurry graphics surely will. No matter what resolution I chose the graphics were huge and out of proportion, half of the game was off the screen and I couldn't even access the options menu. When I'd try to exit out of the game it would freeze up and I couldn't get rid of the game's icon. I finally had to hit the escape button and use the task manager to stop the process. Do Not Download This Game It Doesn't Work!

I fell in love with the first Art By Numbers game because it was a classier version of the Paint by Numbers game with much better graphics and way better options. I didn't think they could up the ante on such an amazing game because the first game had so many options already, but they proved me wrong with the coolest feature ever...they added a Freeplay section that allows me to choose my own colors from a complete, full-scale color palette! I couldn't wait to complete a picture so I could unlock the Freeplay image and use my imagination to create a wild and colorful pennmom version!
The cursor is an actual Paintbrush, which was an option available in the original version, but this time they have added an option to "paint" the sections normally, or as an actual brushstroke that fills sections in as if you were actually using a real paintbrush! You can choose from 4 different Background Textures that will compliment your completed works of art (72 total) You can also choose the color shading of the numbered areas, and the type of painting style, either Flat or a textured Watercolored effect that looks more like a real paint by numbers painting effect.
The Current Number is much easier to see than in the "other" painting game and the black lines are much smaller so the pictures are much crisper and are really interesting. They have a transparent background (unlike the other painting game which has an ugly gray background) because this picture will be displayed on the background you have chosen, and it will be embossed with a blue & gold frame when completed.
The colors are beautiful with carefully chosen hues of yellows, purples, pinks, fuchsias, teals, oranges, etc. A butterfly might have 5 different variations or shades of pink on his wings which is something I have complained about several times on the other painting game. It's not very pretty when the same blue color is used on an entire butterfly that is just separated by really thick black lines, you have to use shading variations to give it depth, and that is exactly what Awigor has done...the same developer that developed Rainbow Mosaics, one of my favorite Mosaics series!

♠ Tweedle Two Still Looks Like Tweedle One, If The Giant Sees Them They'll Be None! ♠ The Clock Stopped Ticking in Wonderland I Hear, Now Tweedle's Mission Has Been Made Very Clear! ♠ The Queen Needs To See If Time's Still Tick Tocking, Way Up High Where Birds Are A Flocking. ♠ Alice Never Wanted To Grow Up, Was Her Wish, Looks Like It's Been Granted Cuz Now She's Smaller Than A Dish! ♠ No Need To Hurry, You Won't Be Late, Time Has Been Frozen... so why do we need a freeze time option... In This Time Management Game?
I actually loved this Alice's Wonderland more than the other two versions, it's bright, it's colorful, it's challenging but not super hard and there are so many creative features and imaginative TM tasks that make it delightful to play. There are so many alters and features that I decided to jot down bullet points of what each feature gives me and what resources they require because I was able to look at my notes to better strategize. (for example Chest-bark+gold...Bush-imagination+candy) So the chest required bark to obtain gold, and the Bush required imagination to obtain candy, and by making a list with - and + I could easily glance at my notes and know what I'd need to go after on which paths first.
There are 40 Main Levels (+20 Collector's Edition version Bonus Levels) that can be played in a Relaxed, Normal or Challenge difficulty mode, and Trophy Achievements to earn. In the CE and SE versions, each level has a Teacup that allows you to assemble downloadable Jigsaw Puzzles. In the CE version, each scene also has a Morphing Art Palette that allows you to "paint" 3 Concept Art pictures, as well as 2 extra mini-games, downloadable artwork, bonus quests, and 4 additional achievements.
Although the concept is the same, the features are clever. Alice must collect "Imagination" and the Tweedle workers need to collect Candy as their food source. You will build Candy Factories for food supplies, repair cracks along the paths, removing stone and boulders, clearing "peelings", open Treasure Chests, and gather renewable resources from various Altars. There are a lot of strategies involved and if you don't do things in the right order, you can and will get stuck and have no choice but to start over! (the bullet point list really helps :)
The Bonuses are Magic Spells that last for about 20 seconds each, and each level usually has 3-4 different Spells available: ♠-Collect More Resources ♠-Run Faster ♠-Bargain Trade (resources traded at a better rate of 3-4) ♠-Get Candy Pile (generated on altars) ♠-Get Gold (generated on altars) ♠-Fill Altars ♠-Speed Up Workers ♠-Freeze Time ♠-Speed Up Production ♠-Endless Candy (obstacles are temporarily disabled-max 3 objects) ♠-Endless Gold (obstacles are temporarily disabled-max 3 objects)

I wasn't crazy about the castles on this edition of Jewel Match, but the Match 3 levels are very addicting. It's one of those games where you just keep telling yourself, "I'll just play one more level before I get some actual work done" but six levels later you are still saying the same thing!
One thing's for sure, Suricate never skimps on Collector's Edition Extra's so there's no reason to wait, this has all the bling you could ask for, and then they go above and beyond to give you way more than you are expecting. You get 3 extra Jigsaw Quests (after completing the Main Quests) 8 Music Soundtracks, 6 extra Cursor options, 6 extra Hidden Object Games, 3 extra Castles, the Making Of (really interesting concepts) Achievements, 15 Butterfly Levels, 14 Pearl Levels, and 10 Bonus Game Levels to unlock
You can choose to play in a Timed Mode, a Limited Moves Mode, or a Relaxed Mode. Then you get to choose to play whichever type you selected, in a Normal or Advanced difficulty mode!
Each level has several "rooms" to complete, when one room is cleared, you click on the arrows to visit the next room. If you have time remaining after completing a level, you can either continue to the next level or go to the previous rooms and search for bonus items or earn more gold, etc. Gold and Silver Coins that appear can be collected with a single click (they will disappear after a brief amount of time) and Bags of Coins must be dropped off of the board to collect by making matches under them. The Coins earned can be used to purchase Shop Item upgrades of power-ups, Special Pieces are collected by dropping off the board as well, and they are used to purchase decorations such as Statues, Flowers, and Animals, Amulets are dropped off the board and they are used to purchase Castle Sections.
Large matches will reward you with power-ups, such as a Match 4 gives you a Joker Gem that can be matched with any tiles, and a Match 5 or more, awards you with an Arrow that clears rows, columns, cross formations, etc. There are Moving Bombs that strengthen with each move, Stomper Boxes that unravel with a hammer to stomp 3 different tiles, and even Atomic Tiles that turn tiles matched near them into atomic explosives.
The object is to clear all gold cells by making matches over them. Some items require you to make matches under the items such as keys until they fall off the board. Mana Bottles must be collected to cast spells, and Treasure Chests can be upgraded to hold a greater number of tiles, because once full, other tiles collected will go unused. (larger chests can be purchased in the Shop)
There are various obstacles such as Wooden Crates, Chains, Double Chains, Dark Fog, Amber Trapped tiles, Arrows that move tiles along the arrowed paths, and even Safe tiles that require a specified number of matches made next to them, according to the number inside. As you progress you will unlock Puzzle Rooms that don't allow power-ups and the goal is to catch the Butterfly. You will also unlock Pearl Rooms to gather pearls to purchase bonus mini-games. These levels are always available and won't restart unless you restart the entire game.
I love that we're finally getting some decent Match 3 games! Thank you Big Fish and Thank you SS and our fellow Pondie for another wonderful Jewel Match 3 game!

Hey, I'm not a novelist, but I have played Detective Dupin's character and/or sidekick 18 games in a row, but as far as I can remember, this game has absolutely nothing to do with EAP's Devil in the Belfry. Sure, they mentioned a bell ringing in the first scene, but I didn't hear said bell, I didn't see said bell, I didn't even get the pleasure of seeing a recap or watch someone dream about this Devil ringing said bell in the belfry. After the first chapter, the Devil is out of the picture, (technically) so my point is if you are going to honor Edgar Allan Poe with a series dedicated to his books, shouldn't you at least attempt to base the story around the actual events? This has absolutely nothing to do with the book, the title is the only thing that hints to Poe! (why not just make a new series if you run out of Poe's ideas?)
☽☾Collectibles☼ CE Version Only Looks like Amax got the memo about skimping on the CE Bling on recent games. They have added some decent Morphs & Collectibles to this game! There are 12 Zoom-Zone Magic Cards that have illusions or magic trick descriptions which I found to be pretty interesting! There are 60 Morphing Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces, usually, 2-3 per scene and they morph at a perfect speed so they aren't super obvious, but they aren't super difficult to find either. The puzzle pieces can be assembled to complete a 60 piece picture as well.
◔Hidden Object Scenes◕ There are 20 Hidden Object Scenes 6 in the CE Bonus Chapter, including several smaller Zoom-Zone Hidden Object Scenes which usually preceded the larger main HO scenes. I'm not usually a fan of HO's so I'm already biased, but I didn't think they put forth much effort in most of the HO scenes which were mostly Interactive List Finds. I really wish developers would add a Skip option to the HOP's because most of the time the alternate Match 3 games some of them offer they offer are just as boring so they are both just a complete waste of time for most seasoned players. As I said, most of the HO's are Interactive List Finds but there are also a couple of Silhouetted Shape Finds, Multiples of the Same Object Finds, Fragmented Item Finds, a Progressive-Interactive Zoom Zone HO, a couple of Keyword in Sentence Finds, and my personal favorite, a fairly interactive Swatch Find where you find objects that match the colors shown on swatch samples. There are no alternate Puzzles available.
♙Mini-Games♙ There are 36 Mini-Games +8 in the CE Bonus Chapter, and most of them are the easy, relaxing kind of puzzles. Here are some of my personal favorites: 1-Untangle Ropes. 2-Rotate & Swap parts between plates დდდ 3-Use mechanical hand to grab items in a specified order. დდ 4-Use directional arrows to go fishing while avoiding air bubbles. დდდ 5-Several matching pair variations.დდ 6-Navigate maze variations (some while avoiding dangerous obstacles by timing) დდდ
✯Bonus Chapter (Collector's Edition version only)✯ George and Anna must save their mother when she is accused of fraud and imprisoned shortly after the death of their father. The children have everything to lose, they have just lost their beloved father and now the family business is a stake as well, The Wheeler Theater of Illusion. Whose your Daddy? Gabriel is all grown up now, and what a handsome young man he's turned out to be. Even though his mother died of a rare infliction during childbirth, Gabriel hasn't suffered nearly any side effects other than a touch of insomnia. But the truth about his mother's death has been kept a secret for his entire life, but he's always suspected that's there's something different about him, something that's not quite right, not quite human!
☭Gadgets/Helper:☭ Dark Romance is usually about 2 lovers being torn apart by unseen forces as you swap between players. Unlike the clever writing team of Ashville where they changed things up a bit with a journal that as one person pens an entry in the year 2000, it appeared to the person in the year 1985. The problem with this game is that someone got the bright idea that they should do a game similar to their first game Vampires in Love, except now Domini has really bright colorful graphics with an overabundance of yellows, pinks, and purples and they decided to give the original Vampire a stupid floaty cloak that reminded me of the Seer's antlered cloak in Saga of the Nine Worlds. To make matters more ridiculous they gave him a huge comb-over to the point that you laugh every time you see him. I can't take any of it seriously, why would you ruin a Vampire story with a G-rated version? [insert glitter-bomb]
☽☾Collectibles & Morphing Objects ☯(CE Version Only): Once again, Domini has surprised us with no surprise when it comes to their completely predictable Collectibles & Morphing Objects. Once again there are 15 Morphing objects...this time they are Blood Sample Vials (AB-yum?) 15 Jewelry Items (Vampires=Jewelry...I totally see the connection here...okay, no I don't really see any connection here?) Once again, the entire town is littered with a gazillion Missing Notes, I have a confession to make, in my spare time I jot down all my thoughts and nefarious plans, one page at a time, on a single sheet of paper and then I place a single page in random places all over town just for grins and giggles (sometimes when I'm really bored, like now, for example, I take the Unicorn...his story's coming up, keep reading)...what are the chances of the same person finding all of those pages? There are 70 Coins to pilferage that are hidden away in the darkest corners of some of the Zoom Zones. They aren't your coins, they aren't in your house, they are in someone else's house, the people who live in those houses look like they need those coins more than you do, but you'll take them anyway, even worse, you'll both take them, it's okay, no one's looking, seriously, no one can see you, well technically, the owl is watching you but "whooo's" he gonna tell, Gabriel? He took some too, Sabrina, she just swiped a handful, it's a match made in heaven, Vampires In Love... oh wait, that was the first game lol.
◔Hidden Object Scenes◕ There are 9 Hidden Object Scenes +4 in the CE Bonus Chapter and an alternate Match 3 Game available, which btw, doesn't allow you to make consecutive matches quickly. (you have to wait for all tiles to stop falling before you can make the next match) They include Interactive List Finds, Silhouetted Shape Finds, Keywords in Sentence Finds, Descriptive Item Finds, Find 12 Odd Items withing several Pictures, and one that I thought was pretty creative where you turned discs to align two halves of a fish, shown as Silhouetted Shapes. When the fish were aligned, they would come to life in full color (mostly colorful male Beta fish) and jump into the center pond.
♙Mini-Games:♘ There are 21 Mini-Games +6 in the CE Bonus Chapter. You can choose to play them in an Easy or Hard difficulty mode and you can choose which mode to have them start out in the Custom Setting (you can still switch between modes for each individual game) Here's a list of some of my personal favorites:
1-Shoot bats 3 times each, bats move forward after each shot. 2-Arrange flower petals according to the hint by rotating discs. 3-Climb a rope by adjusting 3 levers to align the target over each knot 1 at a time. 4-Use free slots to swap gears to their matching colored flowers, and then place gears so they fit correctly on the pegs. 5-Use directional arrows to rotate inner & outer edges so red candles are on the inside and blue candles are on the outer edges. 6-Use directional arrows to move counter or clockwise either 3-4 or 6 spaces to land on the correct symbols.
✯Bonus Chapter✯ (CE Version Only) This Bonus Chapter takes us back to the "Origins" of Dr. Helsing and why she dedicated her life to pursuing Vampires. Honestly, this character is more interesting than all the other characters combined, but again, I just can't take a Vampire game seriously when Domini has flooded the scenes with their cutesy, over-abundance of rainbow fantasy colors. I was ready to see a pink Unicorn pop up from behind the trees at any moment to attack its victims with a silvery-purple glitter-bomb as it whinny-giggled its way back into the forest! This is an above average-length chapter (surprise!... [insert glitter-bomb]) spanning over a whopping 10 scene locations with 6 additional Mini-Games and 4 Hidden Object Scenes. You will continue your search for the final 4 Morphing Blood Sample Vials, 4 Jewelry Items, and 15 Zoom Zone Coins which allows you to purchase the final Salon decorations...surprise with these same ole, same ole collections, it's always the same scenario with different names (it's even the same amount to collect) there's no surprise, so you don't get a unicorn glitter bomb this time :(
♕Collector's Edition Extra's♕ (CE version only) 15 Wallpapers, 15 Concept Art Pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, 30 Movie Video Cutscenes, 39 Achievements (the same achievements offered in all of their games and notice how you earn them in the order shown AND you earn them when you didn't really earn them because they are given to you at specific set-points, not by randomly earning them. In other words, you won't earn the 5th achievement first because that's not when the game is programmed to award them...seems rather disappointing now doesn't it?), 18 Replayable Mini-Games, 17 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 15 Morphing Blood Sample Vials, 15 Jewelry Items, a gazillion Missing Notes...again! 70 Zoom Zone Coins to purchase 15 Boring Salon Items placed randomly in the middle of the floor, 6 Main Chapters (filled with cliche, repetitive tasks) +Bonus Chapter, and a Built-In Strategy Guide.

✰✰✰✰½ Review Based on Purchased Game (purchased all previous games in the series too :)
I have purchased all of the Match 3 games in this "Legend Of" Series because they are really fun games with colorful graphics and "Even More Jewels". But don't let the bling fool you because as you progress, the levels offer a decent set of challenges as various obstacles are added to the mix.
You can play in a Relaxed, Medium, or Hard Mode of Difficulty, however, none of the options are explained, so I'm assuming the Relaxed is an untimed option, and the Hard Mode gives you less time than the Medium Mode (which is the mode I played in and seemed to be a normal time limit) There are 3 Cursors Options, and 38 Achievements to earn. You can earn up to 3 Stars per level, but you only get the option to Replay levels when you don't earn all 3-Stars. After the Match 3 Levels, you open a Chest that awards you various prizes of Gold or Gemstones, and occasionally you get to play a Hidden Object Scene or a simple Mini-Game.
The Level Goals vary, such as making matches on Sand covered tiles or Lapis Lazuli covered tiles, Gold covered tiles are worth double value but they don't have to be cleared. Other goals may require you to Collect a specified amount of specific Tiles or earn a specified amount of Gold Coins. Some tiles such as the Crook and Scourge tile increases your fortune by 2...but again, poor instructions don't explain what the "2" is, could be gold, could be sapphires, could be knowledge, who knows?
Eventually, Power-up Boosters can be purchased and used at your discretion to clear rows and columns, etc., but they must recharge after each use by making matches of the same icons. Large Matches will earn Elemental Bombs on the board: *Water Element: (Blue) Match 4-clears 5-tile radius. *Earth Element: (Green) Match 5-clears 9-tile radius. *Fire Element((Orange) Match 6-clears 25-field tile radius.
There are various Obstacles such as Half-Wrapped & Full-Wrapped Tiles that require making matches of the same tile that is encased in the mummy-wrap, (either once or twice depending on how encased the tile is) and they don't necessarily need to be destroyed because sometimes they aren't blocking your goals. There are also Loose Sand Tiles that you have to dig through which opens up new areas.
When you have earned enough Coins, Sapphires Quartz, Amethysts, Rubies, and specific Achievements, you can purchase Houses and various shops to build the village, which in turn allows you access to the shops' Boosters. Each construction can then be upgraded two more times once those resources and requirements have been met (click on the individual building to see the requirements for each upgrade) You can click and drag the map around to see the village in its entirety, and it does have a lot of characters and even random animals roaming around.
Definitely worthy of a PCC, I have purchased all of the games in this series, they kind of remind me of the Cradle of Rome series. I think this one is the best one yet, I haven't made it much past the demo yet but it's turning out to be a decent Match 3 game which we don't seem to get a lot of lately.

Recently I played the newest game by this developer called Modern Art and I fell in love with that game, yes, even more than Pixel Art! The colors are textured like a true oil painting and the completed pictures are true works of art...I guess they are Modern works of Art lol.
I've been happy that Pixel Art and Paint by Numbers has been offered on Mac before PC but for the last several game versions I have complained that the screen is in a small windowed box at the bottom left. The screen itself is still full-sized but the image picture is a square at the bottom left which is really annoying so until someone fixes it, I can't give 5-stars!
There's not a whole lot to have to figure out, it's about as uncomplicated and basic as it gets so as long as someone can recognize numbers, they should be able to play! Pixel Art is a computer version of Paint by Numbers. Each pixel has a number and you chose the corresponding color bubble from the palette (also numbered) on the right side, and you simply left click to fill in all the numbers with the correct color, you can hold the mouse button and swipe through large groupings as well.
There is a Slider Bar that allows you to zoom in & out (there's a "fit" tab as well) you can also move the entire page around by right-clicking and dragging. There is an auto-fill feature that will fill in large groups of pixels in a particular color by double-clicking, but that feature has to recharge after each use, besides, it's more satisfying to color them yourself. The last feature is a slider bar that allows you to change the color of the background, it really only allows you to change the colors in shades of grey to black. (but the newer games have added a full-color scale yea!)

This "Top Reviewer" is one of our most frequent game reviewers. We think you'll trust what they have to say and find their reviews helpful and informative.
First, there was one and that was really fun. Then they kept coming, they hit the ground running. By the time they hit twenty, I thought surely that's plenty, but along came game thirty and the list grew quite wordy. Now six years later we're on game forty-two, is there really a need for forty-three?
For a while, they were surprising us with an occasional new feature but now we are getting a Fantasy Mosaic game every 2 months and they are all the same now, so there's just no need to play another one. I may as well go back to the beginning, with 42 games to play, it would be like playing a brand new game! I still love the genre, in fact, I recently played Detective Agency Mosaic and that game blew me off of my computer chair, so from now on, all other Mosaic games will have to meet the standard of that game...this one certainly doesn't come close! At least that game has an interesting story...Match Gems needs to come up with something more creative than the current, weak Penguin Family sagas, and ridiculous peek-a-boo rooms..the whole penguin family discovers aliens, a portal in the woods, time travels, etc. is getting kind of lame and it isn't really a story??
The only new features that have been added over the past 42 games, besides upgrading the color graphics, is a multi-color feature (added in game # 4) a Sun power-up (added on game #6) the addition of earning/deducting stars for using hints (on game # 15) two additional color bubbles offering 6 colors vs 4 (on game # 16) an Eye feature to view the background w/out the grid (on game # 18) an interactive garden feature (on game # 21) locked colors (on game # 27) different tile choices (on game # 28) an interactive workshop w/ mini-games (on game # 33) and Zen mode (on game # 34)
The Zen Mode has returned for those who prefer to solve the griddlers without all the hand/flipper holding. In Zen Mode, the numbers aren't crossed off but Mistakes aren't counted against you either, because chances are, you'll have to edit some of the cells as you switch between colors. You can delete filled-in or crossed-off cells by right-clicking the cell in Zen Mode, and you'll know you have completed a particular color correctly because a checkmark will appear on the color bubble.
You can play in a Casual Mode which crosses off the cells one by one, or the Advanced Mode, which only crosses off the remaining cells once the entire row and column have been filled in. You will earn a Gold trophy if you make no mistakes, a Silver trophy if you make one mistake, and a Bronze trophy if you make two mistakes. You will also earn up to three gold Stars if you don't use any hints, one star is deducted each time you use a hint. Therefore, it is possible to make a mistake or two but still earn 3 stars as long as you don't use any available hints.
There are 20 locations, and each location has 5 Griddlers and an additional mini-game. You can choose from 7 different tile sets, ranging in color vibrancy and styles. Locked Colors can be disabled in the Settings menu, otherwise, some of the colors are locked and unavailable until you uncover color-specific keys that are hidden beneath some of the filled-in cells The Eye feature allows you to hide the grid to get a look at the puzzle without all the grid lines, and there is a reset icon that makes it much easier to restart the level if you make a mistake.
There are groups of numbers located on each column and row of the grid, each group of numbers must be separated by at least one blank or crossed off cell. Sometimes it's easier to cross-off cells that can't possibly contain a filled-in cell, which will reduce the number of cells and narrow the playing field down a bit, when you get stuck, you can switch colors and work back and forth until it's solved.
Some of the cells contain bonuses such as extra hints, extra mistakes allowed, or an extra pickax which allows you to choose which cell you want a hint on, and some cells contain keys to unlock colors (unless you disable this feature in settings) There is a Sun icon as well that when fully charged, will give you a mega-hint, filling in or crossing off a 3x3 area of your choice.
