I've always been a fan of the Rescue Team series and I thought I'd really like this game but man it's a difficult game to figure out! There are too many options right off the bat so you don't even get to ease into it by learning about a couple of buildings at a time. By level two I was already confused about the "hero" not being available, is the hero the dog? I thought this was the case so I built a Kennel because there were no other dog-related offerings but all a kennel does is make dog biscuits, what the heck?? The reason I was so confused in the first place was that I had a hard time getting the "needed resources" images to show up when I placed my cursor on a task! I also found it funny that in level one I had to build a dog-learning center...isn't it a bit of hindsight once a disaster has occurred? Shouldn't I have dogs that were already trained?
The graphics are colorful, there seem to be some unique tasks to perform, and even though this game is a direct knock-off of the original (and very successful) Rescue Team game, it somehow lacks the finesse of my beloved Rescue Team series.
Just like Rescue Team, you will be tasked with saving victims of a disaster. Just like Rescue Team, you will use dogs to search for victims in the rubble. Just like Rescue Team, you will need to use heavy-duty equipment to clear debris, pump out flooding water, and deliver food to both workers, dogs, and victims...yet it's just NOT the same!
First, you will have to construct the correct building such as a Dog Center to train the dogs, Workshops to start construction of Separators, Girders, etc, Headquarters to get finances from the Federal Budget, Fuel Stations, Kitchens for food, Hospitals, etc. Two seconds later you have to demolish them to build a different building and as I said, it all happens within the first level so you don't have time to get to know what all the different building constructions offer so you are left scratching your head by the second level. I've never had to use a Strategy Guild so much...and right off the starting line at that!
The CE version has 7 Wallpaper Skins, 6 Music Soundtracks, 14 Achievements, 40 Main Levels, and 10 Bonus Levels. I strongly suggest opting for the CE version just for the Strategy Guide alone because you're probably going to need it! If you really want to play a fantastic game, try some of the earlier Rescue Team Games!

I'm a dog lover who has been looking forward to this game for over a month. I really enjoyed "I Love Finding Cats" so this game was an immediate purchase and I was even more impressed with the quality and the features. Of course, finding the pups and adopting them are fun features but I like the fact that objects change to different formats from level to level, a Bonsai may be a silhouette in one scene and a few scenes later the Bonsai may be a real plant which makes it more challenging when you aren't looking for the same picture.
Each HO scene has 18 Listed Items to find with a Secondary Zoom Zone Scene. The listed items are highlighted to show which items are available in the current scene (if the listed text is opaque it indicates that item is not located in that scene but it will appear in bold print when you switch to the zoom zone or vice versa)
There are usually 2 Dogs available in the Main Scene and 2 within the Zoom Zone Scene and the pups are also available in the Spot the Differences HO scenes that follow each main HO level. You can zoom in to the scenes (including the zoom zone) using the Magnifying Glass feature, by double-clicking, or scrolling, you can even click on the magnifying glass and THEN scroll to zoom in even further...and the graphics still remain crystal clear!
There is no Timer and no Misclick penalties but you will earn more points for making fast consecutive finds (Combo x1, x2, x3, x4, etc.) Even though you aren't racing against the clock, you will earn a Gold, Silver, or Bronze Star depending on how many points you earn, so making combos is vital. This is one of the few HO games that I enjoyed replaying the scenes so I could find items more quickly in order to better my star rating by earning more Combo Points! There is a Hint feature available, however, you will earn extra points if you don't use the hint feature.
Each Hidden Object Scene will list the number of Pups available on the left side of the Inventory Bar. Finding the pups allows you to adopt 20 adorable Pups, and you can replay the HO's to search for any missed pups. When replaying a scene for a better score, it isn't necessary to re-find the pups, unless you want to because once you find them the game keeps track of this.
After every HO Scene, you will play a Spot The Difference game which has 2 more hidden Pups! After completing the Spot The Difference game you will get two puzzles that are dog-themed, such as shaped puzzles, clicking on square tiles until the correct image has been discovered, or rotating circular pieces to complete the image...and they aren't as simplistic as you'd imagine them to be!
This Collector's edition version has 21 Wallpapers, 12 pictures of the Developer's own Pups, 12 Music Soundtracks, 6 Extra Bonus Scenes, 12 extra mini-games, and 5 extra Adoptable Pups. ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ
FUN FACTS ABOUT DOGS:
*The Labrador Retriever has been on the AKC’s top 10 most popular breeds list for 30 consecutive years—longer than any other breed.
*45 % of U.S. dogs sleep in their owner’s bed.
*All dogs dream, but puppies and senior dogs dream more frequently than adult dogs.
*70% of people sign their dog’s name on their holiday cards.
*A dog’s nose print is unique, much like a person’s fingerprint.
*A dog’s nose has as many as 300 million receptors? In comparison, a human nose has about 5 million.
*Dogs’ noses can sense heat/thermal radiation, which explains why blind or deaf dogs can still hunt.
*Rin Tin Tin was nominated for an Academy Award.
*Only one breed that was among the 5 most popular breeds in 1934— the Beagle — still remains in the top five today.
*The name Collie means “black.” (Collies once tended black-faced sheep.)
*A person who hunts with a Beagle is known as a “Beagler.”
*Yawning is contagious—even for dogs. Research shows that the sound of a human yawn can trigger one from your dog. And it’s 4 times as likely to happen when it’s the yawn of a person he knows.
*The Dandie Dinmont Terrier is the only breed named for a fictional person—a character in the novel Guy Mannering, by Sir Walter Scott.
*Dogs curl up in a ball when sleeping to protect their organs—an instinct from their days in the wild, when they were vulnerable to predator attacks.
*The Basenji is not technically “barkless,” as many people think. They can yodel.
*The Australian Shepherd is not actually from Australia—they are an American breed.
*The Labrador Retriever is originally from Newfoundland.
*Human blood pressure goes down when petting a dog. And so does the dogs.
*There are over 75 million pet dogs in the U.S.—more than in any other country.
*Dogs are not colorblind. They can see blue and yellow.
*All puppies are born deaf.
*Dalmatians are born completely white and develop their spots as they get older.
*Dogs have about 1,700 taste buds, humans have between 2,000–10,000.
*When dogs kick backward after they go to the bathroom it’s not to cover it up, but to mark their territory, using the scent glands in their feet.
*A recent study shows that dogs are among a small group of animals who show voluntary unselfish kindness towards others without any reward.
*The Norwegian Lundehund is the least popular dog breed and the only dog breed created for the job of puffin hunting.
*Greyhounds can beat cheetahs in a race. While cheetahs can run twice as fast as greyhounds, they can only maintain that 70 mph speed for about thirty seconds. A Greyhound can maintain a 35 mph speed for about seven miles.
*The Bloodhound’s sense of smell is so accurate that the results of its tracking can be used as evidence in a court of law.
*Some dogs are taller or heavier, but according to the Guinness World Records, a Mastiff named Zorba is the world’s overall largest dog ever. Zorba weighed 343 pounds and measured over eight feet from his nose to his tail. He’s been described as being about the size of a small donkey.
*According to the Guinness World Records, the smallest dog ever recorded was Miracle Milly, the Chihuahua. Born in 2011, Milly was a minuscule 3.8 inches tall and weighed in at one pound.
*Loki weighed just 3# more :)

I realize everyone judges a game based upon the demo, however, the demo doesn't do this game any justice and that was a huge oversite on Brave Giant's part. I was a bit harsh with my review on the CE version because the CE content was MIA (it has recently been updated and now has the bonus content) and the developers missed a golden opportunity to showcase a new kind of gameplay because they failed to offer a variety of difficulty modes within the first part of the demo.
Looking back I realized that this was a brand new format from Brave Giant so I decided to take the plunge...more importantly, I decided to support one of my favorite developers. I purchased the CE version after being informed that the missing CE content would be available via the GM update (again, the CE version has recently been updated to include the missing content)
I am NOT regretful of my purchase, it may not be a "blow your socks off" kind of game, but it is a decent and entertaining game that offers a unique kind of gameplay with HO scenes and puzzles of varying difficulty...some of which may have you scratching your head as to how to solve them! Cyril48 was spot on when he explains that this is the kind of game that requires more than 5-10 minutes of gameplay to get the full picture. I took a chance on Brave Giant and I'm glad I did, give them a chance to work out the kinks...they are trying to create a new kind of game, and the only way they can improve is by getting feedback from our reviews, so at least play the entire demo and give feedback based on all three difficulty modes.
Each scene begins with a Play Button of various colors, GREEN Buttons are EASY to solve, BLUE Buttons are MEDIUM, and RED Buttons indicate the tasks are HARD to solve, so this isn't an easy-breezy game, it just has a variety to offer! This is an escape-the-room game, sort of...the idea is to solve the task at hand in various locations that require some sort of interaction with items you find and use within the scene. You may have to solve puzzles by entering codes you uncover during those interactions. There is a Hint system that will supposedly nudge you toward the solution if need be.
I would agree that the Green Play Button locations were simplistic, but as you progress, so does the difficulty so make sure you play a variety of the tasks/puzzles/HOs and pay attention to the color of the play buttons.

Completed Game approximately 6.0 hours
(including completion of all Mini-games & CE Bonus Chapter)
23 Main Game Scene Locations +10 Bonus Chapter
Difficulty Range: Beginner
Prepare to be frightened by ghouls & goblins and things that go bump on the eve of Halloween...just not from this game! Like a B-rated horror flick, it will leave you wondering why ya kept watching/playing...because you say to yourself, 'it will get better, the plot has to thicken a bit longer" but it never does...yet you feel compelled to keep going,
You keep going even though the game is reminiscent of the movie Groundhog Day, repeating the same ridiculous tasks with slightly different tools over and over...You find a single hedge clipper blade...you're positive the other half AND the teeny tiny screw will be found shortly down the road, intact ready to assemble...the reality is there was a good reason those old hedge clippers aren't fully assembled (does anyone take these apart for ANY reason?)
You find an old horn and you lug it around because you know a drawer will be jammed in a scene or two...now where's a heavy object, can't have one without the other?
The vacuum cleaner that was discarded because it doesn't have an on/off switch...everyone knows your eagle-eyes will spot this at any moment, maybe even buried in a pile of dirt, it will be perfectly fine and easy to repair, just stick it in place a voila, it stays put...no wiring necessary! (again, there was a reason the switch was unattached in the 1st place)
By now your hands are pretty full carrying around all these items...but wait! Heck yeah there's a hairpin...but I'll toss that aside after picking a lock because low and behold I've found some real lockpicks for the next lock...today is my lucky day! Ut-oh are those bees...wow, today IS my lucky day, who'd of thought there would be a pipe full of tobacco in the exact spot the bees have taken up residency?
Turns out, Halloween Chronicles: Behind The Door is frightening after all!
AUDIO-VIDEO & GAME MECHANICS:
Domini has always had crisp, detailed graphics even though they sometimes struggle with the color palette which tends to have an overabundance of one dominant color for each game. The graphics are always beautiful but Domini certainly lacks a Halloween imagination because Kriben is the most pathetic "monster" I've ever seen in a HOPA game, He's so cheesy it's laughable which I suppose is why they felt the need to add so many legendary Halloween monsters to the mix because they couldn't pull off a new evildoer. The audio always seems spot on and you'll probably never notice looped soundtracks, but that's exactly how background music is supposed to work, it should go unnoticed while subconsciously stimulating the brain to recognize the ebbs, floes, and climaxes of the storyline. Domini is famous for adding items that can be interacted with, however, they seem to be far and few between lately and they tend to add a bunch of interactions during the demo portion to trick us into thinking that the entire game will be loaded with them!
COLLECTIBLES & MORPHING OBJECTS (CE Only):
The collectibles/morphs are always the same, they just have different names. Once again, there is a gazillion Missing Notes to discover, 15 Morphing Kriben's Things to click on, and 15 Monster Figurines with descriptions. I always refer to them as "clickables" versus collectibles because they are never challenging to find, they just require the player to click on them...clickables! Once again, there are 66 Zoom Zone Stone Coin that is used to purchase 15 uninteresting Armory Items. Who cares about buying items stuffed inside an Armory Closet? There is an optional Collection Icon Tab that can be enabled or disabled in the settings menu which lights up when a clickable is available in the scene. You can also choose to show/hide the availability of collectibles on the Map.
HIDDEN OBJECT SCENES:
There are 18 Hidden Object Scenes +4 in the CE Bonus Chapter, the same amount offered in every game because as I said the game mechanics are the same in every game, they only change the graphics & story, everything else is a carbon copy. The Hidden Object Scenes vary with Keywords in Sentence Finds, Find & Replace, Silhouetted Shape Finds, Silhouetted Shape Morphing Object Finds, Fragmented Object Finds, Matching Objects, Multiples of the Same Item Finds, _ + _ = ?, and good Old-fashioned Interactive Listed Item Finds.
MATCH 3 ALTERNATIVE:
There is an alternate Match 3 Game available, which still doesn't allow you to make consecutive matches quickly because you have to wait for all tiles to stop falling before you can make the next match which makes the game super boring. The M3 boards are always square and they never add obstacles or new features to make it progress in difficulty. FYI: one of the achievements requires you to play the alternate Match 3 game in place of the HOS. (just once) The thing that bothers me the most is that the boards are exactly the same in every game, they don't even bother to code new Match 3 games from one game to the next, how lazy does it get?
MINI-GAMES-PUZZLES:
There are 18 Mini-Games +8 in the CE Bonus Chapter. You can choose to play them in an Easy or Hard difficulty mode and you can choose which mode to have them start out in the Custom Setting (you can still switch between modes for each individual game) Nearly every puzzle involved sliding tokens/gems along a track of various shapes or some type of maze puzzle. They weren't very creative and all of them were offered in previous Domini Games, they simply changed the graphics to match a Halloween theme, mostly involving skulls.
BONUS CHAPTER: (CE Version Only)
The Bonus Chapter takes place in "Ye Olden Days" as a Monster Hunter on a mission to save his sister after being kidnapped by Kriben and hidden within the castle walls during the 19th century. There are 4 Hidden Object scenes and 8 Mini-games spread out over 10 additional scene locations filled with even more repetitive tasks. You will continue your search for the final 5 Monster Figurines, 5 Morphing Kriben's Things, and 9 Zoom Zone Stone Coins of varying amounts which allows you to purchase the final Armory Items...same collectibles/morphs, they just have different names.
THE LEGEND OF STINGY JACK THE JACK-O-LANTERN ORIGIN:
Stingy Jack invited the devil to have a drink with him, but Jack didn't want to pay for the drink, so he convinced the devil to turn himself into a coin. Instead of buying the drink, he pocketed the coin and kept it close to a silver cross in his house, preventing the devil from taking shape again.
He promised to let the devil go as long as he would leave Jack alone for a year and that if Jack died, the devil wouldn't claim his soul.
After a year, Jack tricked the devil again to leave him alone and not claim his soul. When Jack died, God didn't want such a conniving person in heaven and the devil, true to his word, would not allow him into (HE double hockey sticks)
Jack was sent off into the night with only a burning coal to light his path. He placed the coal inside a carved-out turnip and has been roaming the earth ever since.

COLLECTOR'S EDITION EXTRA'S: (CE version only)
15 Wallpapers, 16 Concept Art Pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, 28 Movie Video Cutscenes, 38 Achievements, 18 Replayable Mini-Games, 18 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 15 Morphing Kriben's Things, 15 Fairy Monster Clickables, 66 Zoom-Zone Stone Coins, 15 Armory Supplies (purchase with Stone Coins) 7 Main Chapters, +Bonus Chapter, and a Built-In Strategy Guide.

By now I'm sure everyone knows how much I love adventure games, but it saddens me that this game had some major flaws. It saddens me because I want Big Fish to continue to offer adventure games, even if they are older games! I was totally enthralled by the storyline, the characters were interesting as were their backstories. Moving the characters was easy, the game itself was fairly simple to figure out.
I ran out of options fairly quickly and was left scratching my head as to what to do next. Out of desperation, I searched for walkthroughs and they were in abundance. The walkthroughs looked the same as the BF version, but no matter which steps I took, no matter how many new profiles I created, I couldn't replicate the walkthrough scenarios.
In every walkthrough, my character would walk up to the neighbor's door and read the nameplate, "Osborne" and then make a comment that the wife's name was Debbie. When I tried to read the nameplate after replicating every move in the walkthroughs, Peter Wright would always say "better not". At that point, nothing else mattered because my next move was to return to Peter's apartment to retrieve his messenger device which is then used to call and ask for information on Debbie Osborne. Because Peter refused to read the nameplate, technically he didn't know the neighbor's name, therefore, the operator couldn't give him the information required to proceed, in fact, the operator stated that Peter was still responsible for the call placed!
Every comment Peter made in every walkthrough I watched varied slightly from what Peter said in my games' version. When I examined the door itself, he never made comments about how brutal the police were or said anything about the damage they created even though every walkthrough I watched had identical comments. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game and created new profiles each time but the outcomes were always the same!
There were other differences as well, In my games' version, when I click on the window, Peter opens it and looks around the city's empty streets, in the walkthroughs, Peter simply makes comments about the city at that hour of the night without opening the window and viewing the streets from above. If I clicked on the bottle of whiskey, Peter would just say "I don't have time for a drink" but in the walkthroughs, Peter makes a comment about how he has to stop drinking, perhaps tomorrow" When I clicked on the TV, Peter said he was watching an excellent show, as usual, which was similar to the walkthroughs but he definitely added more commentary about the show on the walkthroughs.
The walkthroughs were identical to one another, but none of them were identical to the scenarios in my games' version. Sometimes Big Fish gets a slightly different version of games, albeit extended versions, CE content, goodies, or special additions to give BF customers an incentive to buy the game from BF versus other portals. Perhaps this game was edited to downsize the game so older computers could handle the download, perhaps they tweaked it to make it more compatible because it was an older game?
Whatever the reason, my version was different than the original game and because of this, I was unable to progress in the game because it simply wouldn't allow Peter to read the nameplate (yes, I tried to read it several times and after doing things differently each time) If you are able to read the nameplate, then please keep going, give adventure games a chance, they require a little more thought than HOPAs, you can't play them on autopilot like you can HOPAs but everything about adventure games is more gratifying once you solve the tasks at hand! (besides, there are hardly any HOPA developers remaining, what better time to make a change?!)

Have you ever wondered about the characters in a game series? I've always wondered why the developers portrayed the parents to look so old, heck, until a few games ago I thought the mom and dad were the grandparents! I've also wondered if any of the Hudson family members actually work? If they do work they must get a ton of vacation days because they are constantly traveling across the globe. Judging by the house, they don't appear to be millionaires, Jennifer's boyfriend Mark could be a rich cowboy but he just recently joined the travel-lovin' Hudsons' so I don't think he's footing the jet-setting bill? While I'm on the subject, why don't they ever fly solo? You'd think Jennifer and Mark would like to vacation without mom & dad tagging along, at least once in a while...surely, Mark would like to ditch Jenny's parents by now, it's not like he has to make a good first impression at this point. Doesn't Mark have parents, or are his parent's homebodies that don't share his passion for travel? BTW: does Mark ever plan on popping the question? Maybe they should book a flight to Vegas for an Elvis Wedding!
Travel to Brazil doesn't have any new features, but they did add a couple of new HO variants a few games back, such as Mirror Reflections where the words are mirrored as well as the screen (as it would be reading the word "ambulance" in a rearview mirror), and Spot the Difference. I've always enjoyed "spot the differences" but I hate it when the only "differences" are added or missing objects versus subtle changes to the scenery, which isn't the case here. When all you have to do is "spot" huge objects that have been added to one of the side-by-side scenes, there's absolutely no challenge making this variant nothing more than a time-waster.
One of the biggest reasons I don't feel the need to purchase new games in this series lately is because the items never change position when you replay the levels. Replaying levels is a requirement in this game in order to earn the necessary stars which unlock the next level in order to progress, therefore, it becomes monotonous and boring pretty quickly. Sometimes they throw in a few new objects to the mix of the repeated scenes, but all of the objects remain exactly where they were located in the previous scene, in the same exact position!
You can choose from 3 different difficulty modes, a Relaxed Untimed Mode, a 10-Minute Timed Mode, or a 3-Minute Timed Mode. You will earn a single star on each HO location and the next location requires 1-3 stars to unlock it which means you'll have to replay the scene in a different HO mode. The Hidden Object Modes change each time you replay a scene, between Listed Item, Silhouetted Shapes, Scrambled Letter Modes, and the two newer variants, Mirror Reflection and Spot the Differences. Because the objects themselves never move, you can basically guess at the objects by the time you roll around to the silhouetted shapes, and scrambled letters and get 99% of them right!
Each scene has a Lazy Turtle to discover (once you find him he won't appear in the other HO modes) to earn 500 extra points, but there's nothing to purchase with these extra points so what's the point? There are trivia facts before visiting each location as well, but I STILL think the developers need to use their Lazy Turtle Logo versus the cheap plastic turtle because this developer's Lazy Turtle Logo is one of the coolest logos I've ever seen. He's an adorable "lazy" turtle wearing a sombrero and leaning up against a palm tree. If they used a semi-transparent image of this logo and hid it in each scene it would be much more challenging to spot and much more fun.
The Hudson Family's trip locations include:
~Santa Teresa, Rio de Janeiro
~Corcovado Mountain, Rio de Janeiro
~The Sugarloaf Cable Car, Rio de Janeiro
~The Carnival, Rio de Janeiro
~Copacabana Beach, Rio de Janeiro
~Lapa District, Rio de Janeiro
~Mangus, The Amazonas Theatre
~Brasilia
~Campos do Jordao
~Iquazu Falls, Parana
~Salvador, Bahia
~Thesao Paulo Metropolitan Cathedral
~Amazon Cruise
~Botanical Garden of Curitiba Parana
~Recife, Pernambuco
Mini-Games Available:
~Jigsaw
~SoccerSolitaire
~Travel Cards (Matching Card Pairs)
~Amazon Animals (Restore picture puzzle)
~Cities of Brazil (Word Search)
It would be nice if the objects moved around when you revisited the scenes in a different Hidden Object Mode and it would be way more fun if the objects were blended into the scenery and were downsized a bit so they weren't so big/obvious.

Lately, it seemed like Big Fish was never going to offer anything new. The only games offered over the last few months have been Painting games, Mosaic games, and HOPASs by the same developer (it was hard to tell the difference from one series to another they were that similar!), and hardly any of these games were from a new developer.
Today, the mold has been broken with not only a new game by a new developer (just new to BF-European tv channel Arte) but a game from a whole new genre! A creative game, a game with beautiful graphics and a story that unfolds as we lead two little dots through the evolution of Fonts. It's a Word game, it's a Platform game, it's an Educational game, it's a Manual Dexterity game, it's challenging, and it's fun!
This game won't be for everyone, first of all, you'll have to use the ARROW KEYS & SPACEBAR to control the twin dots. Type:Rider is basically a Platformer game so you'll have to be able to maneuver the dots using arrow keys while executing jumps using the spacebar to avoid traps and various hazards. You won't necessarily have to move fast, in fact, sometimes it's beneficial to go slow and sometimes even hunker down in place to avoid obstacles, and in some cases, you'll have to time your moves to avoid things like dripping lava, or giant stamps that smash to the ground!
There are 10 Chapters, 1 Tutorial, 1 Hidden, and 8 Main Chapters representing the various eras of typography, each covering an era-related Font, the idea is to collect all of the strategically placed letters and asterisks, from A to Z (different level, different font) Each Chapter has 2 Puzzle sections and a White Ball that must be guided to a recessed area along with the two Black Dots (I think it's supposed to represent a Colon?) After placing the 3 dots, which isn't as easy as it sounds, you click the Up Arrow to complete the level.
As I stated earlier, some will hate this game because of the Arrow Key controls which require quite a bit of manual dexterity, however, there doesn't seem to be a limit to the number of lives you get so you may just want to give it a try if you make a mistake and die, the game picks back up right before the area you made the oopsy. Just keep trying different tactics until you solve the problem at hand, for example, SPOILER ALERT: get a running start to push the box onto the spikes versus bumping it off. A harder thump puts the box midway therefore it's easier to make the jump. When you come to the stamper, lay low in the middle recess until it lifts back up. The physics could be a little more fine-tuned to be more practical, but at least you aren't limited to only moving forward, as is the case in some platformer games, and you get plenty of "redo" chances in order to fine-tune your solution.

Although there are still a bunch of pictures in Modern Art 10 with a single image slapped in the center that doesn't allow you to paint the background, they did include pictures that are more interesting and include the entire background as well.
There are 64 images available but you are forced to finish the first level before moving on to the next. I still don't understand this concept, why do I have to finish one level before proceeding? I'm sure everyone would like the ability to pick and choose from any level, at the very least, allow us to see all of the available images even if we can't paint them because they are still locked! This scenario only makes me suspicious that the rest of the images are worse.
Each area has a number and you simply chose the corresponding color bubble from the palette (also numbered) on the right side. There is a Slider Bar that allows you to zoom in & out (as well as a "fit" tab) you can also move the entire page around by right-clicking and dragging.
I like the textures available in the Modern Art series better than the colors offered in their Paint By Numbers series and this would be a 5-star game if they would simply add some must-have features, better colors, and better image selections. This developer is truly struggling with pictures and interesting color choices so it would be wise to seek out an artist or two for some better insight.

(including completion of all mini-games & CE Bonus Chapter)
22 Main Game Scene Locations +4 Bonus Chapter
Difficulty Range: Beginner
I don't get it! Just because a new series comes out that has a title that sounds like it's a rarely used Western theme, it doesn't automatically get a "pass" Take off the outlaw bandit mask and you'll soon figure out that nothing has changed but the title and the clothes the characters are wearing!
-Missing cart wheel-check!
-Dig up the dirt for an inventory item-check!
-Missing ladder rungs requiring nails & a heavy object-check!
-Feathers needed as a broom-check!
-Broken glass needing gloves-check
-Infamous horse carriage crash-check!
-Plug a hole to stop rushing water with a piece of cloth-check!
-Get rid of an attack scorpion standing guard-check!
-Corkscrews to remove corks-check
-Corks to cork things 2 scenes later-check!
-Tweezers & tongs to remove every item imaginable in cracks-check!
-Hair combs to remove nails-double check!
Does any of this sound like something from a brand new series or does it just sound like the same ridiculous tasks that every single game Domini has ever made has? To make matters more predictable, these were just a few of the tasks that were required in just the first chapter! I may be the only person who is tired of doing the same things over and over in every Domini game but I suspect that a lot of you are growing weary of the laziness Domini has been putting forth lately too! I for one, am not being fooled by a shiny new title!
Audio/Visuals & Game Mechanics:
This is a Western-themed game? If it is, they certainly don't seem to care about authenticity? Perhaps someone should have at least watched an authentic western before sitting down to design this game??? Domini has always had crisp, detailed graphics even though they sometimes struggle with the color palette which tends to have an overabundance of one dominant color for each game. The audio always seems spot on and you'll; probably never notice looped soundtracks, but that's exactly how background music should work, it should go unnoticed while subconsciously stimulating the brain to recognize the ebbs, floes, and climaxes of the storyline. Domini is famous for adding items that can be interacted with, however, they seem to be far and few between lately.
Gadgets/Helper:
There are no Gadgets or Helpers in Hidden Motives
Collectibles & Morphing Objects (CE Version Only):
A brand new series deserves some brand new collectibles, or at least a new feature or two, right? Nope! Once again, there are the same collectibles and the same features where only the names have changed to protect the innocent...developers who don't want to actually work hard by changing the code they wrote 15 years ago??? 15 Morphing not-so Wild West Items, and 15 Wanted Posters (didn't see that coming) and 70 Zoom Zone Dollars that are used to purchase 15 Saloon Items. There is an optional Collection Icon Tab that can be enabled or disabled in the settings menu which lights up when a "clickable" (NOT COLLECTIBLE) is available in the scene. You can also choose to show/hide the availability of collectibles on the Map as well.
Hidden Object Scenes:
There are 12 Hidden Object Scenes +5 in the CE Bonus Chapter. (just once) They always give us an option to skip the mini-games so why, oh why can't we skip the world's most boring Hidden Object Scenes??? The Hidden Object Scenes vary with Keywords in Sentence Finds, Silhouetted Shape Finds, Matching Pairs, Progressive-Interactive Finds, and scenes that require Finding & Placing items into the Scene...nothing to see here folks, they certainly won't remind you of the Wild West!
Mini-Games:
There are 18 Mini-Games +7 in the CE Bonus Chapter. You can choose to play them in an Easy or Hard difficulty mode and you can choose which mode to have them start out in the Custom Setting (you can still switch between modes for each individual game) This might be a new series but I didn't encounter any new puzzles, nor were they particularly Western-themed which was a huge missed opportunity AND a huge let-down! All of the puzzles were simple revamps we've solved hundreds of times, such as placing highlighted road sections on a map using + & - buttons to adjust the size, putting out flames by drawing a continuous line from flame to flame, entering the correct code in the direction (left or right) shown, placing gems on an eagle so all light beams connect, removing obstacles on a map, navigating horses on a moving trail...how many times have we solved these same puzzles? How many more times will they offer the same exact puzzles? If they can't come up with new puzzles why bother with a new series????
Bonus Chapter (CE Version Only)
Step into the shoes of Sheriff Sean Ross before he becomes the local Sheriff of Redsand as he chases down his first criminal Outlaw. There are 5 Hidden Object scenes and 7 Mini-games spread out over a mere 4 additional scene locations. You will continue your search for the final Morphing Wild West Item, 2 Wanted Posters, and 4 Zoom Zone Dollars of varying amounts which allows you to purchase the final Saloon Decorations.
Collector's Edition Extra's: (CE version only)
15 Wallpapers, (every single one with a character slapped on them. Wallpapers are supposed to be pictures of the scene's beautiful background so please...show off your graphics abilities, impress us without the characters as the main focal point!) 14 Concept Art Pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, 28 Movie Video Cutscenes, 36 Achievements, 18 Replayable Mini-Games, 18 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 15 Morphing Not-So Wild West Items, 14 Wanted Poster-Clickables, (clickables versus collectibles cuz they aren't very challenging to spot nor is it an original idea...very predictable!) 70 Zoom-Zone DOLLARS...I doubt anyone out west had a bunch of dollar bills, if they found all these dollars they would have been millionaires!? 15 Saloon Items (redecorate the local saloon, why not, you're practically Elon Musk?) 3 Main Chapters, +Bonus Chapter, and a Built-In Strategy Guide.
