Sam the Magician was the star of his cousin Max's Circus, drawing enor"mouse" crowds in every city. Ironically, the infamous Magician mysteriously disappeared without a trace and the Circus eventually crumbled without their missing link.
Thirty-three detectives later, Max Vigor seeks the help of Detective Paw, a struggling agent facing eviction. The one and only lead they have is from a distant memory of an odd symbol adorning the cane of a stranger...and so the Moontrain adventure begins!
As many of you know, our beloved Kris Djokic from Dragonseye Studio passed away shortly after the release of Tearstone: Thieves of the Heart :( Thankfully, he was here to witness the success of Tearstone 2 but unfortunately, Moontrain was still in development. As a tribute, the Dragonseye team worked feverishly to complete the game to honor their beloved mentor...and they have exceeded everyone's expectations!
Moontrain is a point & click adventure ride you don't want to miss! It's a thinking kind of game with adorable characters and whimsically animated cartoon graphics. The storyline will amuse and delight players of all ages as you search for clues and follow leads to find Sam and reunite him with his cousin Max.
I was surprised that Big Fish listed Moontrain as a Hidden Object Game versus a Point & Click Adventure. Although it has aspects of hidden object scenes, they aren't typical HO's. Sometimes you will search for needed items by rummaging and moving things out of the way but those objects aren't listed at the bottom as they are in typical HO scenes, and you may have to return to those areas on other occasions to find another item. There are also Black & White scenes that require you to find & replace 3 objects in 3 different scenes to fill in parts of the story or fill in the backstory, but again, they don't tell you what to do or what to look for, you have to figure out the requirements as you do in most adventures.
In most HOPA games, the developer throws in random mini-games and puzzles that have nothing to do with the story, they are just fillers. The mini-games in Moontrain ARE part of the adventure's progression, in other words, you need to solve puzzles to progress, and although they can be skipped you probably won't want to! You may need to play an arcade game to get a part needed to fix broken items or find codes to solve the puzzles. The mini-games and puzzles are easy to solve, but they don't come with a set of instructions, they rely on you to tinker with them to find the solution...and you'll feel a sense of pride when you do figure out how to fix or solve something!
As in most adventure games, you will come across areas that require items, and usually in multiples of the same item, such as 10 Nails. Once you click on an area of interest, an Icon will appear on the top right, showing a picture and the quantity of the items required. Once you find the required parts, you drag that icon of inventory to the correct location to use them. Icons that have a magnifying glass require further inspection, and items with a + sign require combining two or more inventory items... if you get stuck there's always a good old-fashioned Hint button!
Bonus Chapter:
The Moontrain is flooding and it's up to you to fix the leak and help various characters during your newfound adventure!
This CE Version has 44 Collectible Gems (some may be hidden) that allow you to purchase Detective Items, 5 Screensavers (after answering questions about the game) 20 Music Soundtracks, Concept Art Pictures, a Notebook with Character Bios, and a built-in Strategy Guide.
We have a memorial dedication thread for Kris so please join us at my new Woodsy-themed forum thewoodsforum.boards.net

Clearly, this game is no different than Spirit Legends, an older series by this developer that tanked so miserably, that they discontinued the series...or so we thought! Out of sheer desperation, Do Games, formerly Domini Games, decided to re-strategize their methods by releasing all the games slated for release under their older series, as brand new series! (I believe 12 supposedly new series back-to-back)
It doesn't take a genius to figure out that every brand new series game was no different than the original series. City Limits was no different than Fatal Evidence. Magic City Detective was no different than Secret City, Connected Hearts is no different than Dark Romance, and so forth.
Do Games can change the origins of their game releases and pretend they are new games in a brand new series, they can change their name, and pretend they aren't really from Russia, but this will not solve the issue of their poor star ratings! We HOPA fans are still numerous, we have been fans long enough to remember when developers released quality games, yes, even THIS developer! We are the fans who thrust BF into the limelight, we are the fans responsible for the rise of HOPA developers! We are the fans who purchased HOPAs at a break-neck pace making it difficult for developers to supply our gaming demands.
Money was pouring in, OUR money...developers were flourishing, then they became greedy and decided to repay us by cutting corners and offering clone games that have the same format game after game!? Thanks a lot, DO! We want you to flourish once again, but that will never happen until you make it happen and return to HOPA roots and make games challenging and original like they were in HOPA PAST...why do you think we are always stating that "the games nowadays are worthless so we'll just go replay an older HOPA"...it's because we loved the older games, we loved that those games were challenging, we want games like Dire Grove, Dark Dimensions, Otherworld, Nightmares From the Deep, Dark Parables, House of 1000 Doors, True Fear...we don't want another Spirits Chronicles kind of game!!!
Gadgets/Helper:
Of course, this game has the exact Gadgety feature offered in Spirit Legends, a Bestiary Book that can soothe the savage beast, by first playing a mini-game that has nothing to do with animals? The Bestiary Book is used 5 times in the Main Chapters only (No Bestiary Book is used in the CE Bonus Chapter) When the Bestiary Book starts to shake, rattle, and wiggle-jiggle, that's your cue to don your superhero Cape & Mask, and put your Healer Skills to the test! (sound familiar??) This is no time to panic, just grab the book from the left side of the inventory bar and throw it at that hideous beast...okay, I'm exaggerating a bit...it's more like a gentle lob? Right before your very eyes, the dastardly beast turns into a docile domesticated pet... awe, that's so adorable that the Beasts love puzzles too :)
Collectibles/Morphing Objects (CE version only)
Once again, there are a gazillion Missing Notes to discover which is the most worthless and uninteresting feature of all time. There are 15 Morphing Enchanted Trees, 15 Magic Creature Figurines, and 46 Zoom Zone Dewdrops used to purchase 15 uninteresting items for Celeste's Bedroom. There is an optional Collection Icon Tab that can be enabled or disabled in the settings menu which will light up when there is a collectible in the current scene. You can also choose to show/hide the availability of collectibles on the Map.
Hidden Object Scenes:
There is a whole slew of non-challenging, and uninteresting Hidden Object Scenes not worthy of mentioning.
Alternate Match 3 Game:
There is an alternate Match 3 Game available if you don't want to play a Hidden Object Scene. The M3s still don't allow you to make consecutive matches quickly because you have to wait for all tiles to stop falling before you can make the next match and they are the same boards with the same tiles used in every Do Game!
Bonus Chapter (CE Version Only)
I never made it this far, I just can't do it! (or is it DO it lol) There are 8 additional Mini-Games and 4 Hidden Object Scenes taking place over 9 additional scene locations. You will continue searching for the final gazillion notes, 3 Morphing Enchanted Trees, 3 Magic Creatures Figurines, and 9 Zoom Zone Dew Drops to purchase the final items for Celeste's Bedroom...whoo-hoo?
Collector's Edition Extra's: (CE version only)
12 Wallpapers, 12 Concept Art Pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, 21 Movie Video Cutscenes, 39 Achievements, 17 Replayable Mini-Games, 17 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, a gazillion Missing Notes, 15 Morphing Enchanted Trees, 15 Magic Creature Figurines, and 46 Zoom Zone Dewdrops used to purchase 15 uninteresting items for Celeste's Bedroom, 4 Main Chapters, +Bonus Chapter, and a Built-In Strategy Guide.

Nope, you won't catch me saying her name three times! I've always been a fan of the Bloody Mary horror plot (although the big E did a better job story-wise) the game is more worthy because of the storyline plot.
Unfortunately, it still has the same MO of lame, cliche tasks, such as:
-a shiny inventory item buried in the dirt
-the use of boards, nails, & a heavy object
-feather dusters to brush away the impossible
-corkscrew, corks, belts, etc. as handles
-makeshift magnet lock openers
-keys on the opposite side of doors
-random smoke to fan away
-animals that don't budge until you scare the bejeebers outta them
-rulers that somehow fit between doors
-makeshift tweezers
-makeshift wrenches
-makeshift screwdrivers
-makeshift hammers
-missing water valves
-missing wheels
-instantly recharging devices
-wires taped with anything handy
-solvents that instantly remove dried paint layers
...and then I made it to the second chapter!
Collectibles & Morphing Objects (CE Version Only):
Do-h!, ya might want to invest in a quality control manager. The collectibles have different names depending on where you look! If you go to the Extra's menu, they have them listed as 15 Writer's Desk Items, 15 Mirror Traps, and 70 Bookmarks (as the currency). If you look at the pull-out Collectible's Tab in the game itself, they are listed as 15 Utensils, 15 Ghosts, and 70 Bookmarks. If you go to the Strategy Guide they are listed as 15 Collectible Photos, 15 Morphing Objects, and 70 Bills??
Are we searching for collectible ghosts or mirrors? Are we searching for vintage writer's desk items, photos, or utensils? Are we searching for Bookmarks or dollar bills to purchase Office items? I guess in the long run, it doesn't matter what they are called because they are so teeny-tiny that it's impossible to tell what you've collected anyway!
Hidden Object Scenes:
There are 16 Hidden Object Scenes +5 in the CE Bonus Chapter. The Hidden Object Scenes vary with Interactive Listed Item Finds, Keywords in Sentence Finds, Finding & Replacing Item Finds, Progressive-Interactive Silhouetted Shape Finds, and Multiples of the Same Object. One of the 1st HO scenes was on a computer screen with pictures that were so small it was difficult to find the objects...and I have a 38" curved Alienware monitor!
There is an alternate Match 3 Game available, which still doesn't allow you to make consecutive matches quickly because you have to wait for all tiles to stop falling before you can make the next match which makes the game super boring. It's always the same exact M3 game, the boards never change! They never add obstacles or new features to make it progress in difficulty. FYI: one of the achievements requires you to play the alternate Match 3 game in place of the HOS. (just once)
Mini-Games:
There are 26 Mini-Games +7 in the CE Bonus Chapter. You can choose to play them in an Easy or Hard difficulty mode and you can choose which mode to have them start out in the Custom Setting (you can still switch between modes for each individual game) I actually enjoyed several of the mini-games, although none of the games were original. I particularly enjoyed the mechanical-type puzzles where you make electrical connections, etc.
Bonus Chapter (CE Version Only)
A writer's work is never done so we're off to investigate another infamous ghost, La Llorona. There are 7 additional Mini-Games and 5 Hidden Object Scenes that take place over 9 additional scene locations. You will continue your search for the final 3 Utensils/Writer's Desk Items? 3 Morphing Photos/Ghosts/Photos, and 8 Bills/Bookmarks, I have no idea what they are called at this point lol to purchase the final Office Items.
Collector's Edition Extra's: (CE version only)
11 Wallpapers (basically giant photos of each character), 15 Concept Art Pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, 28 Movie Video Cutscenes, 35 Achievements, 20 Replayable Mini-Games, 21 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 15 Writer's Desk Items,15 Mirror Traps, 70 Zoom-Zone Bookmarks to purchase 15 Office Items, 7 Main Chapters, +Bonus Chapter, and a Built-In Strategy Guide.

In the CE version, I complained about the constant interruption of the conversation, before, after, and especially during the HO scenes. In this version, I chose to skip the dialog (available in settings) and it did make the game way more entertaining...however, I don't have an issue with the stories themselves, I actually enjoy a small story in HOGs. What I don't like is when the story is told in increments between every move I make, especially when it occurs in the middle of the HO scene!
It would be really nice if BoomZap would listen to our complaints because I've read a ton of reviews stating that there is way too much talking in this series! May I suggest that you gently unfold the saga before each HO scene in a paragraph or two and leave it at that! Maybe go a step further and cut back on the two characters that appear & disappear as they speak. Have them both standing in the foreground (when applicable) and simply add the "speaking" character's name above their particular conversation text so we know which character is speaking. This will eliminate the back & forth "business" which is a key factor that annoys most players and makes it feel as though they are interruptions versus story-telling conversations!
You can choose to play in an Easy Mode with a 15-second Hint Recharge and mini-game pieces that lock when correctly placed, a Medium Mode with a 30-second Hint Recharge where some of the mini-game pieces lock, or a Hard Mode with a 45-second Hint Recharge and no mini-game pieces that lock.
There are 14 Days total (locations) and each Day has 6 scenes which include mini-games and HO scenes that are varied with Listed Items, Pictured Images, Riddled Descriptions, Silhouetted Shapes, Scrambled Letters, and Collections, such as finding several Pigeons. It would be nice if there was an option to disable certain variations such as Scrambled Letters because some of the words are nearly impossible to figure out!
I liked the mini-games, especially Memory Match Flags and Spot The Differences between 4 images. Other games include a variety of shaped puzzles, Square Tile Rotation puzzles, Swapping items so items only occur once in every row and column, or Swap & Rotate puzzles.
The CE version seemed rather vague because there were no tabs in-game that were labeled as "CE Extra's". According to the BF synopsis, there are 6 additional Chapters set after the main story, 2 Bonus locations, and 30 new levels. There is also an Unlimited Mode available once you unlock the scenes in the main game. The tab for the Unlimited Mode was still showing on this SE version, but it says it's only available in the CE version when you click on the tab.

Well, at least they offer a Timed Mode this go-round, other than that it doesn't have a lot going on and it gets really boring, really quickly!

How many chains must I break, how many crates must I bust, how many upgrades must I make, how many boring stories must I hear, how many amulets must I drop off the board before going insane?
I miss the spiders, at least they were a challenging feature! To make matters worse, half the time I would make matches over the grey cells but they pretended as though I didn't make the match as they remained intact...this must be the "magic" they speak of?

I'm really confused by the title of this latest edition in the Adventure Trip series which indicates that there was an Amazing World 1, otherwise, why would this be called Amazing World 2? The only games I have played in this series are London, Wonders of the World, and New York, all of which have had a CE & SE version... did I miss one?
Every game in this series (with the exception of the mysterious Amazing World #1) are fantastic HOGs! They have clear graphics, well-hidden objects that aren't blown out of proportion, fun collectibles, and some of the best customizable settings. There is a Magnifying glass available, but it can't be used in the Zoom Zones, and it disappears whenever you click on an item which is really annoying! I wish it would remain until I right-click to ditch this feature!
You can play in an Easy Mode which has a 15-second Hint recharge and no misclick penalties, a Medium Mode with a 15-second Hint recharge, and a misclick penalty, (-1000 points), or a Hard Mode with a 60-second Hint recharge and misclick penalties. I love the scoring window because it gives you more points for Accuracy and points for not using the Hint feature.
There are 20 different scene locations that can be replayed in several different HO variants, such as Listed Words, Missing Vowels, Scrambled Letters, Silhouetted Shapes, Pairs, and Clue Descriptions (in the unlimited section) If you don't like the upcoming Mode, all you have to do is select the desired mode on the popup window that appears before the start of every level!
Each scene, including replays in different word modes, has a Collectible 8-Ball, and a Peace Sign. Before starting a level you will be shown a special item to search for that will give you a fun fact once collected. Collecting 100 Peace Signs will unlock the Unlimited Mode, and collecting 60 8-Balls will unlock bonus Sudoku & Mahjong games, finding all Special Fun Fact items will unlock a Bonus Jigsaw, and you can purchase 15 different Gifts with the points earned.

After completing a Hidden Object Scene, there will be a Mini-Game variation to play, such as Spot the Difference, Square Tile Swap puzzles, Match 3 games, Word Search, Mahjong, or a Jigsaw Puzzle.
This Collector's Edition version includes 14 bonus locations,
15 Gifts to purchase, 100 Peach Signs to unlock the Unlimited Mode, 60 8-Balls to unlock the Bonus Mahjong & Sudoku games, and a bonus Jigsaw when you find all Fun Fact items.
I had a few issues that weren't game-changing but were a bit disappointing so I deducted a star because it doesn't automatically adjust to my large 38" curved monitor. Some of the scenes had double images on the right & left side past the area a normal screen has. When I clicked on the Gift section, the screen stretched too much and cut off the exit button at the bottom and I had to click ctrl/alt/delete to exit out of the game!

I chose to do the Beagle picture but couldn't finish it within the 60-minute demo. I chose the beagle picture because all other available pictures were way too basic and most were single pieces of fruit like a strawberry or a banana. I say "available" because once again, you can't even see the other pictures until you complete the first set...why? Are the next set of fruit pictures supposed to be a reward for plowing through the first group of pictures that no one would choose IF they had a choice? The beagle picture was made up of mostly browns & split-pea greens mixed with the avocado green appliance colors your grandmother used to have when you were a small child.
To make matters worse, there are no decent features, it doesn't have a Hint feature when you are desperate to find the numbers you somehow missed, and you have no way of telling just how many you missed because there is no Cell Counter feature. I find the lack of simple "comfort" features to be unfathomable at this stage, especially when every other pixel game has at least the basic features!
The thing that turns me off the most about this series is when you choose a number, 4-5 different numbered cells highlight at the same time, with slightly different shades of grey...how confusing! Shouldn't the only highlight coincide with the current number you are working on? Why don't they offer more images that include a background so we can color the whole picture?
There are no Why's involved when it comes to having fun so grab a compass and some comfy hiking boots, and head on over to The Woods Forum! Take the well-beaten path and take a right at the fork in the road. We've got a new Group Game Play reservation with your name on it so you might want to start trekking! thewoodsforum.boards.net

I love finding Cats, but I've been a dog lover my entire life so I was thrilled to finally get a new game in this series dedicated to Pups! The games in this series have amazing features, beautiful graphics, and of course, even MORE pups to find!
Each HO scene has 18 Listed Items to find with a Secondary Zoom Zone Scene. The listed items are highlighted to show which items are available in the current scene. You can zoom in to the scenes (including the zoom zone) by clicking the Magnifying Glass, Double-clicking, or Scrolling. You can combine these features by clicking on the magnifying glass and THEN scrolling, which zooms into the scene even further...and the graphics still remain crystal clear!
There are no Timers or Misclick penalties but you will earn more points for making fast consecutive finds (Combo x1, x2, x3, x4, etc.) and you'll earn more points if you don't use the Hint feature.Even though you aren't racing against the clock, you will earn a Gold, Silver, or Bronze Star depending on how many points you earn, so making combos is vital.
There are 16 Hidden Pups in every scene, including the Zoom Zone. The Pups will convert to points, allowing you to adopt 20 adorable Pups! (+5 CE Extras) Each scene also has 3 beautiful Morphing Butterflies that are added to a Photo Album which releases the butterflies and a jigsaw.
After every HO Scene, you will play a challenging Spot The Difference game with 3 additional hidden Pups! After completing the Spot The Difference game you will play a mini-game, usually in the form of a shaped puzzle, but there are other variations, such as Cycling through square tiles until the correct image has been discovered, or Rotating Circular Disk Rings to complete the image. One of the mini-games was actually a hidden object scene where you were tasked with finding multiple stickers of each listed object, such as 12 puppies & 6 ice cream's within a large dog bone shape.
This Collector's edition version has 20 Wallpapers, 16 pictures of the Developer's own Pups, 10 Music Soundtracks, 18 Main Scene Locations +6 Extra Bonus Locations, 20 Adoptable Pups +5 extra Adoptable Pups, 18 Spot the Difference Scenes +6 STD, 18 Mini-games +6 Bonus Mini-games (12 extra mini-games total, including STD) and Scene Location Fun Facts ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ

Friendly Fox is the only developer to realize that HOPA fans can't "bear" playing the games offered lately. They have become repetitive and ridiculously easy, you can't tell the difference from one series to the next, that's how bad it has gotten lately! I'd rather replay an older game that has been remastered, than any game offered in any of the newer series...because this game has Backbone! The developers have done an amazing job with the Remaster, it takes me back to the days when almost every HOPA was a gem, it takes me back to a time when we used to look forward to new releases!
Collectibles/Morphing Objects: (CE version only)
There are 76 Opaque Sprites (2 per scene) which unlocks 5 Sprites in the Extra's Menu (5-14-30-55-76)
There are 34 Morphing Runes and a pull-out tab on the left side to keep track of the collectibles available or found.
Gadget/Helper:
There is no helper but there is a gadgety Book that progresses the story via a Hidden Object Puzzle. Each chapter requires finding & placing an emblem to unlock the next series of HO & story progression.
Hidden Object Scenes:
There are 31 Hidden Object Scenes in the main game +8 in the CE Bonus Chapter, including the Book HO's and several smaller zoom zone HOs. Most of the HOs are Interactive List Finds, but they also have Progressive-Interactive Silhouetted Shape Finds, Find & Replace, and Interactive Silhouetted Shape Finds. Several; of the scenes are repeated but it is always with a different HO variation.
Mini-Games:
There are 31 Mini-Games +12 in the CE Bonus Chapter. Obviously, they are not new puzzles, but most of them are very enjoyable, many of which haven't been offered in quite some time!
Bonus Chapter: (CE version only)
Play as Goldilock's son trying to stop the alchemist in a prequel. The BC spans 12 additional scene locations with 12 mini-games and 10 Hidden Object Scenes. You will complete your Opaque Sprite Collection but there are no Morphing Objects (remaining :(
Collector's Edition Version Extra's:
7 Wallpapers, 12 Concept Art Pictures, 5 Screensavers, 5 Music Soundtracks, 30 Movie Video Cutscenes, 29 Achievements, 15 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 18 Replayable Mini-Games, 76 Opaque Sprites that unlock 5 Sprites, 34 Morphing Objects, 4 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a Built-In Strategy Guide.

I knew this would be another clone of Mystery Tales, and I knew the storyline would be predictible the moment they introduced a couple of misty, floating spirits. How many times are they gonna use this ghostly feature, are they really stuck in this thick of a plot rut? Are they really unable to imagine any new storylines, or are they just unwilling to do so? I guess we can thank the gaming gods that they moved on from the 17th-century evil-doer whose go-to ensemble was always a mysterious black cloak and beaked plague mask and naturally, he was always one step ahead of his foes! (I'm bettin' every HOPA player remembers that scenario!)
I was also confident that I would be tasked with an array of boring, cliche tasks, but I didn't expect them to be crammed into the first scene!
Scene One:
-the very 1st task was to use a key in my car which immediately snapped in two. (has anyone ever experienced key breakage in their lifetime?)
-A woman faints (how many people faint because the person standing next to them for 15 minutes felt cold?) Maybe she fainted because my next task was to enter a telephone booth, can you imagine...a telephone booth in the middle of the street in 2022?
-No scene is complete without needing several shaped emblems just to open a bag. purse, or book, in this case, all of the above
Scene Two:
-gotta unlock that bicycle bag with a shaped emblem because there's always a bicycle chained to a pole...right next to the park bench of course!
-thorny branches, how lucky am I, the thorny branches are covering the bicycle! How long has this bike been here anyway, the bike either looks pretty darn good for its age or those vines are from the little shop of horrors!
-More purse emblems...maybe people from HOPA-world should consider buying a normal purse?
-Oops, looks like someone dropped something I need in the sewer drain...I hope it's a shovel because I have a gut feeling I'm gonna need it for that big ole pile of dirt under that tree behind me!
-I'd better backtrack to that payphone to make arrangements to get into the dorm...never mind, I'm sure I'll find a random keycard, it's probably in this drain, or perhaps at the bottom of that fountain without a plumbing valve?
Scene Three:
-I finally use my stolen keycard to get inside the dorm but wouldn't ya know it, the janitor's mop bucket is blocking the hallway...let me just push it aside...crap, it's missing a wheel!
-the janitor must be busy trying to find the missing wheel because he didn't have time to change the broken lightbulb in his closet, and by broken I mean it's literally broken in half...I'm probably going to have to do a Hidden Object Scene to find a handkerchief?
Scene Four:
-Someone needs my help STAT! Hang on darlin' I've got to fix this leaky pipe first, otherwise, the floor could be slippery...I mean more slippery than the rest of the pool room floor?
-You still doing okay over there darlin'? The funniest thing happened, I noticed something was buried under one of these floor tiles, do you mind if I go and get something heavy to smash the tile...you wouldn't happen to have a fang on ya would you?
Scene Five:
-That's just rude, someone let this candle drip wax all over, well not ALL over, just over the item I need!
-I'll just go in this building to get some supplies...oh no! the doorbell is broken, so broken it looks like I'm gonna need new wires and some tape or they will never know I'm out here!
-It's a good thing I came across this broken doorbell, otherwise, I would never found the inflatable device up in their tree so I can see what kind of goodies they got in their personal mailbox, I'm sure they won't mind, besides, I DID feed their cute little pet raccoon!
Scene Six:
-let's wrap this up by saying I encountered more faucets & fountains missing their valve handles, collected pollen, figured out codes, and used everything imaginable as a screwdriver, except an actual screwdriver, of course, made makeshift handles, repaired chains, and hooks, tweezed several wedged items, had to jump through several hoops just to open things, etc. who else is already exhausted and wondering how to survive 3 more chapters?
Gadget/Helpers:
There are no Helpers but there is a Gadget, a Paranormal Camera to take pictures of any paranormal activities (just like Mystery Tales eh?) This feature is used 7 times in the Main game but it isn't used in the Bonus Chapter.
Collectibles & Morphing Objects (CE Version Only):
Same ole, same ole, with different names, and once again you will collect 18 random notes just lying around waiting for you in random places? There are15 Morphing Dolls that are too big to miss, 15 Magical Runes, and 59 Snapshots which are used as the currency, doesn't everyone hand their clerks a photo? I wonder how you get the change back, do they tear a corner off of the photo? The Snapshots are used to purchase 15 Boudoir Items and I can't think of a more boring feature (but I bet it will happen in the next game!) There is a pull-out tab on the left that can be enabled to show when collectibles are available and you can enable them to show on the map if desired.
Hidden Object Scenes:
There are 14 Hidden Object Scenes +6 in the CE Bonus Chapter. The first HO in every Do Game is a Keywords in a Sentence finds within a notebook (boring) There is a HO located in a closet where you find items that match 2 combined Silhouettes (_+_=?) and all the usual varieties, the only one I found remotely interesting was finding Symbols located on a bookshelf, but it was super easy! Why can't this developer think outside the box and place the HO scenes someplace more interesting, someplace other than the same places they have used in hundreds of games?
There is an alternate Match 3 Game available, which still doesn't allow you to make consecutive matches quickly because you have to wait for all tiles to stop falling before you can make the next match which makes the game super boring. It's always the same exact M3 game, the boards never change! They never add obstacles or new features to make it progress in difficulty. FYI: one of the achievements requires you to play the alternate Match 3 game in place of the HOS. (just once)
Mini-Games:
There are 28 Mini-Games +8 in the CE Bonus Chapter. You can choose to play most of them in an Easy or Hard difficulty mode and you can choose which mode to have them start out in the Custom Setting (you can still switch between modes for each individual game) Same games, as usual, Swap positions of Green & Blue Tiles - Adjust gauges that move at various speeds to stop at the same time - Adjust arrows to point at the 2 icons shown as a clue - Place knots with various extensions to fit correctly - Move doll pieces along tracks to fit together correctly - and a ton of sequence setups, such as choosing the direction a ball travels through a labyrinth or selecting directional arrows to guide a car to its destination.
Bonus Chapter (CE Version Only)
Holy green goblins there's a ghostly canine who is in need of my paranormal services! There are 8 additional Mini-Games and 6 Hidden Object Scenes that take place over 10 additional scene locations. You will continue your search for the final 2 Morphing Dolls, 4 Magic Runes, and 10 Snapshots that will allow you to finish purchasing the Boudoir items.
Collector's Edition Extra's: (CE version only)
10 Wallpapers (basically giant photos of each character), 9 Concept Art Pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, 26 Movie Video Cutscenes, 44 Achievements, 18 Replayable Mini-Games, 21 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 15 Morphing Dolls,15 Magical Runes, 59 Zoom-Zone Snapshots to purchase 15 Boudoir Items, 4 Main Chapters, +Bonus Chapter, and a Built-In Strategy Guide.
