Grandpa has written you a letter apologizing for not being involved in your life while growing up, and has a peace offering as well. Grandpa has invented a Time Machine and wants you to help him finish the machine and witness it's first voyage. Something goes wrong and grandpa is trapped in time and it's up to you to travel back in time to several era's until you find the right one.
Each time period has 4 locations that require you to select the locations on the wheel icon to the right of the inventory bar. When all tasks have been accomplished, a checkmark will appear on that icon wheel. The problem with the game is that you have to complete one mundane task after the other, each scene has very little to do and you just go back and forth from scene to scene picking up one item at a time. It becomes tiresome and boring. Some of the inventory items need to be combined by dragging one item to the other, but there is no indication on the items to alert you to perform this task.
The Hidden Object scenes are simply listed items with no interactions and the scenes are grainy and monochromatic making it difficult to see the items. There are Mini Games occasionally such as combining 4 different colored tubes in the correct order by trial and order.
I don't recommend this game.

Eternal Night: Realm of Souls
Return sunlight to ancient Egypt! Explore ghostly underworlds, solve mystical puzzles, and face off against the gods themselves!

For seven days, no sun has risen causing the crops to wither and the Egyptian people to become sick. You have graciously volunteered to travel to the land of the dead, the afterlife, to speak to the gods and learn why Ra has been silent and abandoned his people.
The graphics are unusually bright and vivid for such an older game, hopefully you are a patient person because it takes forever to load every time you switch locations. The game itself has some interesting features and challenging hidden object scenes, but the slow moving features and game glitches were too overwhelming for me to enjoy this game let alone complete the demo.

Too frustrating of a game for me personally, but I cannot fault the game because of my inability to keep up with the pace. I love games that think outside the box, and this game has done just that. I highly recommend that you go into the options section first and adjust the mouse acceleration to slow down the rapid movement of the amulet. You can also choose to do an automatic rotation so you won't have to click and hold the mouse button the entire time.
The object of this game took me a few tries to figure out, basically you rotate a stationary amulet located in the center, to "catch" flying gems of different colors. The amulet has an outer ring, a middle ring and an inner ring, you must rotate the amulet to catch the gems so that at least 4 gems of the same color are lined up along the outer ring. You will score more points if you can manage to set up combos so that matches are made on the middle or inner rings as well. Only three gems can fit into each section, if you catch a fourth gem in any section too many times, you will lose a life and have to start over.
As you progress, there are more gem colors added, but there are rainbow gems that can match any color, and bonuses that destroy sections of gems with fireballs and even dynamite! If you are fast enough to use strategy, you can earn a higher score with combos, chains, multis, domino's, depths and lengths of gems. There are achievements to earn and you must locate a fragment in each cave in order to bring the spirits back to life.
It's a really entertaining game, but I'm just not fast enough to keep up with it, enjoy!
Enter the role of Eve Glover, one of the best CCPP's agents, sent to investigate the lack of radio communication from your scientific team on Iceland, researching harmonium radiation.

Professor Samantha Bennett has been on assignment with the Center for Control of Paranormal Phenomenon (a.k.a. CCPP) in Iceland. When the CCPP lost all communication with the Professor's team, they sent Eve Glover, their finest agent to investigate. Dr. Bennett discovered a powerful element called Harmonium, a energy source that binds the entire universe together! The professor has been unsuccessful in her attempts to stabilize Harmonium use to open portals into other worlds using a Harmonium Extractor. Professor Bennett isn't the only person interested in this portal, stable or not, Dr. Schroder will stop at nothing to obtain possession of the Book of Obsidian, an otherworldly all powerful and dangerous book.....in the wrong hands!
I was a little disappointed with this Amaranthine Voyage, not surprising because in my opinion, the original is a hard act to follow. You will find the Harmonium Collector that Professor Bennett was studying, and as you collect chunks of Harmonium radiation, this wonderful device will give you powers of mind bending, Phasing and Cleansing which will be a necessity in our world as well as other worlds you visit. Some of the items have plus signs indicating further interaction is required before you can use that item. The Collector's Edition has 40 Collectible Books to discover, several Achievements available to earn, as well as collectible Morphing Objects.
The Hidden Object Scenes were very well done, some requiring you to find several of the same kind of item before you can access the listed item finds. There are even clues given on stone tablets such as a Caterpillar and a Clock which translates to a butterfly! There is an alternate Bubble Shoot game available in place of the HOP's. The Mini Games are pretty simple, click on matching symbols and pictures, or shoot an arrow when the rolling ball enters the bullseye. The puzzle I enjoyed the most was placing different colored and shaped wire connectors onto the board so that none of the wires crossed paths, and then swapping the circuits until they lined up, but even that game was super simple.
The Collector's Edition has 21 different Achievements, replayable Mini Games and HOP's, 40 Collectible Books, Morphing Objects, Bubble Shoot Games, a Souvenir Room, the Making Of, Movies, Music, Pictures, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy!

When Dr. Meow can't fit through his cat door, it's time to lay off the cookies, but Dr. Meow will do anything and everything to get to his prize cookie jar! If you love games based on physics, you'll love finding the correct method to get this adorable overweight kitty to his destination. The object of this game is to slice the various wooden obstacles correctly so that Dr. Meow lands into the cookie jar, however, in order to earn 3 stars, you must collect all of the cupcakes before landing into the cookie jar. You must accomplish this within a specific time, by figuring out what actions will cause the correct reaction. Dr. Meow has quite a wardrobe, new additions can be found hidden behind the crack somewhere within the scene, and you can change his wardrobe any time you want. You will also earn bonuses that can help you achieve the goals, a Muffin Magnet attracts the muffins to Dr. Meow, Soap Bubbles allow you to maneuver Dr. Meow by clicking around him, and a Hazard Shield delivers Dr. Meow away from dangers. You can replay the level as often as you want to try to earn a better score and you can make as many "cuts" to the wood as you want, the levels don't require a specific number of moves, at least not within the demo, enjoy!

Derek is a private detective investigating the disappearance of Count Anthony, in France during the 18th century. Supposedly, the entire town flees due to suspicions of dark magic, however I didn't see the connection as to why or how the townsfolk came to this conclusion. Before the game begins, you have the option of choosing the graphics from best to fastest, I tried the best and the fastest and the only thing I noticed was the best graphics took longer to load between scenes but the graphics looked the same to me. There are two modes of difficulty, Casual and Expert, and a feature I've never seen before. I have never played a game that has a Terms of Use and a Privacy Statement in the Options selection, no biggie, I've just never seen that before.
I found it difficult to get into the storyline which has been done over and over again, villain in a cloak and mask warning the detective that he doesn't belong here, to give up on the case. The inventory items must be dragged from the inventory bar to the item it's being used on which is annoying, and items with a blue background can be combined by dragging one item to the other. Some of the inventory items you find are really small and unrecognizable. The hint icon will either tell you to search elsewhere or guide you to an area of interest even if you don't have the necessary items to complete the task.
The Hidden Object Scenes are slightly interactive list finds, where you click on an item such as a curtain, to remove it and expose the item. Each listed item you find will earn a letter of the alphabet, when all items have been found, you earn a completed verse from a poem, but there was no explanation as to the significance of the verses when all have been found. The Mini Games are simple puzzles, swapping tiles to complete a picture, repeat piano key sequence, or match 12 symbols on bookbinders, none of the games are new, and all can be done quickly.
I'm sure some people will love this game, but for me, there was nothing special about anything in this game, nothing to make me want to continue playing. Just not my cup of tea.
Travel from the deepest trenches of the Atlantic Ocean to the awe-inspiring wonders of Mars as you solve the greatest archeological puzzle known to man: the origin of Atlantis.

I forgot that I purchased this game a long time ago, so I dusted it off and took it for a spin around the block, it's still a fantastic futuristic sci fi game! Even though it's an older game, the devs are one of my favorite, and are famous for this genre of game. The story begins far beneath the ocean's surface, where the city of Atlantis has been discovered by Amrite Stone, an archaeologist. Amerite cannot resist piecing together historical discoveries until she makes a fatal discovery that destroys the glass dome built around the city, and drowns. Thankfully, she is revived, cryogenically preserved, and sent on a new mission to explore Mars, 150 years later!
Both Editions have 18 Digital Memory Cards to collect, which tell you useful information about the different equipment you discover and bios on the different characters.
The Hidden Object Scenes are Interactive List finds, many of the items are hidden within several zoom in areas. The Mini Games are mostly simple puzzles requiring you to find the solution in the scenes first which are recorded in your journal, and then applying that solution to correctly solve the puzzles such as selecting buttons in the correct order or arranging tiles to the correct symbols.
This Collector's Edition has 18 Digital Memory Cards to collect, Concept Art, Wallpapers, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy!

This is one of the coolest sci fi games I have played in a long time. Probably because it is an older game released by one of my favorite devs, who are famous for this genre of game. The story begins far beneath the ocean's surface, the city of Atlantis has been discovered, Amrite Stone is an archaeologist who makes a fatal discovery. Thankfully, she is revived, cryogenically preserved, and sent on a new mission to explore Mars! It doesn't get much better than this! (actually, it does get better in the Collector's Edition)
You are equipped with all kinds of high tech equipment, such as a transporter map. Even though this is the Standard Edition, you still get to collect 18 Digital Memory Cards which tells you useful information about the different equipment you discover and bios on the different characters.

Five years ago, a baby boy was abandoned at your doorstep with a scroll written in an unfamiliar text. Nobu stole your heart and you raised him as your own son. Shortly before Nobu's fifth birthday, he is kidnapped, and you travel to distant lands searching for answers and the person responsible for kidnapping your baby boy. Could Nobu be the Child of Prophecy?
I loved the 52 Collectible Origami Birds that slowly morph into thin air, which makes them more of a challenge to find. In my opinion, this feature is the game's saving redemption, because the game itself moves too slowly to make the story interesting. It's difficult to connect to the characters which makes it feel as if you are an outsider watching someone play the game instead of participating in the game as the main character, A.K.A mom. Mythic Wonders is a decent game, but not a "wow, I can't stop playing this" kind of game.
There aren't many options within the custom difficulty settings, but this game is a fairly easy game to figure out and would be a perfect starter game for those who are new to this genre. Some inventory items are incomplete and require some type of interaction such as combining that item with another inventory item before using. There are also Achievements to earn for completing the tutorial, not skipping Mini Games and even finding items within the Hidden Object Scenes quickly.
The Hidden Object Scenes are different each time, and you can opt to play a game of Mahjong in place of the HOP. There are Progressive Interactive Silhouettes, where you find the first item that matches the silhouette shape and then use that item somewhere in the scene to expose the next item and so forth. My favorite Hidden Object Scene was finding 12 Morphing Items, as you probably remember, I love Morphs especially when they morph slowly or not at all until you trigger the morph in another scene. The Mini Games were enjoyable, but so far nothing new has been offered. The first Mini Game requires you to move a flower to each knot without backtracking and you must end up on the yellow knot, followed by an age ole game where you move a stack of blocks from the middle peg to the right peg, smaller blocks can only be placed on the larger blocks. The third Mini Game was a very simple memory matching game where you select two tiles at a time to flip over to reveal an image, as you memorize the placement of the images and match the image to it's identical tile. All of these games are very easy puzzles to solve, which can be relaxing compared to some of the hardcore frustrating puzzles within some of the games offered.
This Collector's Edition has Wallpapers, Screensavers, Music, Achievements, 52 Collectible Morphing Origami, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter. This doesn't seem like enough to persuade gamers to choose this edition over the upcoming Standard Edition, again if not for the morphing origami, this would just be a Standard Edition with a SG.

Escape Whisper Valley
A sudden rockslide has left you trapped in an abandoned mountain village. Can you find the clues that will lead you back home?

I would love the Escape, seek and find series, if my mouse didn't wander all around the screen with absolutely no way to control it. I tried to play the games with and without "hardware acceleration" but this did nothing for my possessed mouse! This is purely a Seek and Find game, you are trapped in an abandoned village named Whisper Valley and you will find items that will help you escape. Each item you find will give you points, the more quickly you find items, the more points you will receive, however, it's nearly impossible because you can't control the cursor! Each scene has one lock and one key, if you find all 25 locks and 25 keys, it will unlock a mystery game and Unlimited Seek and Find games. You can opt to play this game in a relaxed, untimed mode as well as receive unlimited hints. The items are list finds, some are vague descriptions such as, "sings at dawn (rooster) and at least one item requires an interaction such as "place flowers in vase". After each location has been completed, there will be a mini game such as Blocks, and you will receive an item that will help you Escape Whisper Valley.
