There's a legend here in the Whispering Marsh, of a mysterious and frightening man who loathes any form or merriment, they call him the Lantern Man (insert dramatic music). Careless people who laugh and sing or even the foolish who dare taunt the Lantern Man, have disappeared into the foggy marsh, never to return! It is said, that if you can hold your breath when he shines his lantern upon you, your soul will be spared. So many good people have disappeared, prompting an investigation by the County Bounder, surely this legend was created to to frighten misbehaving children, but just in case........HOLD YOUR BREATH!
The graphics are fantastic, crisp, and well defined, exactly what you'd expect in a quiet town nestled near an eerie marsh, especially a Whispering Marsh. Top the graphics off with theater quality video cinematics that draw you into the storyline, hook, line and sinker, and you get another superior Myths of the World episode. Many of the inventory items you collect are complex items that require some form of interaction before they can be used, such as combining it with another item. The Collector's Edition has the addition of Achievements to earn, Hidden Acorns to find, and even Morphing Objects within the HOP's! Personally, I love Morphs in the game itself with very slow morphing features that aren't linear, putting an occasional morph into a HOP doesn't thrill me as much.
The Hidden Object Scenes are pretty lengthy, some have interactive list finds followed by duel pictures that require you to find the item associated when combines such as a mirror image of a womans silhouette is a mirror. One of my favorite HOP was an extremely interactive and progressive silhouetted shape find where you find the first item matching the silhouetted shape and then use that item in the scene to expose the next item and so forth. There was also one that tasked you with finding 5 birds and 5 keys on a stone mural, which would combine to a pigeon and a large key that is used to eat bird seed and open a lock uncovering a list of items, I enjoyed the variety. There are also small HOP's within zoomed in zones where you find a handful of the same type of item such as 6 petals. Both this Standard Edition and the Collector's Edition offer an alternate game of Mahjong, but the HOP's are really entertaining and way more exciting than a tile matching game.
I didn't come across anything new as far as the puzzle or mini games went, I'll list a few of the games that stand out:
1) Navigating through obstacles on a map using a directional compass arrow. 2) Sliding 4 shells to open a bookshelf, some shells also affect others. 3) Matching pairs of symbols by turning over two symbols at a time. 4) Using a lockpick to open 3 different lock tumblers, rotating the top pick until correctly placed and pushing in on the bottom pick. 5) Connecting gears from the top left to the bottom right using chains of different lengths, blue chains connect two fields, red chains connect a single field. 6) Several increasingly difficult Lantern puzzles where you make connections to enclose all of the symbols in a continuous line, however you cannot directly connect two identical symbols you have to alternate them.
The Collector's Edition has 13 Achievements, 42 Hidden Acorns, 16 Morphing Objects within the HOP's, 18 Puzzles or Mini Games, an alternate game of Mahjong, a Souvenir Room, Lore Book, 10 Soundtracks, the Making of, Videos, 8 Concept Art pictures, 8 Wallpapers, 16 replayable HOP's, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy....... and remember to hold your breath when the Lantern Man shines his lantern upon you!
I recommend this game!

Oh...the game that could have been a masterpiece, but failed miserably all because of poor graphics! The storyline began to pull me in right from the get go, as I'm challenged with solving a murder mystery of a 6 year old girl, Evelyn Byers, who was murdered all because she witnessed Washoe Pete commit a murder in the tiny town of Bodie. Several years have passed without incidents until tombstones suddenly began to vanish as if the townsfolk of yesteryear were begging for your help! See what I mean? What an awesome story! Too bad the graphics are so horrible within the HOP's that I gave up on the story after just 20 minutes.
This game is all about finding the tombstones that have disappeared, and as a reward for repairing the desecrated graves, the dearly departed will give you a section of the map that will lead to the murderer! First things first, you must play a seek and find game within one of the citizens humble abode and you will find the bag full of their tombstone pieces. This is where the game goes south, way south. You are tasked with finding simple listed items that didn't make sense. The houses were built in the 1800's and basically abandoned after everyone was murdered, so why am I tasked with finding chocolate truffles and electric fans and radios? To make things worse, the graphics as so grainy and blurry that it's nearly impossible to recognize most of the items. I couldn't even recognize a cowboy hat!
After the HOP, you take your bag of tombstone pieces (seems like that would be a big and heavy bag right?) and repair the tombstones one at a time. in a jigsaw type puzzle where you click to rotate the piece and drag it to the correct space on the tombstone outline. Once repaired, the resident of that tombstone will hand you their map section which leads you to the next house and so forth, lather, rinse, repeat.

What was once whole, now is split in half, balance has been disrupted with mankind's discovery of Harmonium. You cannot have light without the dark, there cannot be good if there isn't evil, you cannot destroy until you create! Dr. Bennett has made a major breakthrough with her otherworldly portal, and someone has just arrived on her doorstep! Kraixx might look like you and I but he's definitely from another world, a world being consumed by the dark energy of Harmonium. If balance isn't restored in his world, our world will surely perish!
Fortunately, Kraixx has equipped you with a Gauntlet capable of collecting both dark and light Harmonium energy, breaking barriers and discharging it's energy as needed. (whew that comes in handy) There are 43 Hidden Collectible Owls or Freyy's Apprentice, there is no cursor change to help you out, but they seem to all be pink which seems a bit odd. As with all CE's there are several Achievements to earn, and many of the inventory items have plus signs indicating some type of interaction is necessary before using the item.
The Hidden Object Scenes are typical for this series, and many of the scenes have slight movement in the scene or entirely different locations as the camera pans to a different area. Most of the Hidden Object Puzzles are silhouetted shape finds, or multiple finds, but there's also an extremely interactive and progressive scene where you fidget with all kinds of gadgets, and another where you are tasked with finding symbols or glyphs written on the walls on 3 sections, which was somewhat challenging and a nice change of pace. You can opt for an alternate Bubble Shoot game if you're not into HOP's.
The Mini Games are fantastic! Every time you use the Gauntlet you will play a small mini game of either matching the identical symbols or drag ropes across every star point. 1) Assemble the CCPP logo by dragging different tetris shapes into the individual letters. 2) Swapping or Rotating molecules until they are in the correct outlined shape slots. 3) Use arrows to adjust the frequency of radio soundwaves. 4) A series of mini games within one puzzle (super fun) the first step is to swap tokens to the correct slot, then use arrows to move color coded balls to their matching slots, followed by choosing several shapes that will recreate the image shown, and swapping the blue and purple tokens to the right and left. 5) Match identical owls until only one remains. 6) Slide different color coded suns to their matching slots on a star shaped track.
This Collector's Edition has 12 Achievements, 18 replayable Puzzles, 15 replayable HOP's, replayable Bubble Shoot Games, 13 Videos, a Souvenir Room, 43 Collectible Owls, 5 Music Tracks, 8 Concept Art pictures, 8 Wallpapers, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Adventure Chapter, enjoy!

This is one of the better Mahjong games out there, but after the first level, it's just the same thing over and over. I thought this game showed some promise, starting out with somewhat of a storyline and interesting Ancient Roman themed graphics, but other than the first level nothing new or exciting happened. You can choose from 3 styles of Mahjong tiles (because 4 choices would be way over the top crazy) as you supposedly travel to 10 locations within the Ancient Rome Empire, each location has 10 different game layouts.
The goal with every game is to match all of the tiles by choosing two matching Mahjong tiles that are free, unblocked tiles. Each time you match identical Legionnaire soldiers, you will receive a powerup. Depending on which soldier is matched, you will get a Centurion powerup which will destroy 3 different pairs of tiles, the Scout powerup is basically a hint that will show you an available match, the Bowman will reshuffle all the tiles remaining on the board and the Legionnaire can destroy a single tile of your choice.
One feature I hate is the fact that all mahjong games require you to reshuffle the board because eventually there are no available moves. Earning shuffles to resolve this annoying feature is one thing but to automatically use my "powerup" because the program is designed to run out of matches is a different story because my score reflects the fact that I used a powerup! Anyway, if you're really into Mahjong games, you'll probably like this game, but for me, it's just a repetitive process with little to no challenge. If you haven't tried Lost Amulets yet, give that one a try, it's really entertaining!
I don't recommend this game.

I actually purchased this game a long time ago, yep it's that old, but, it's still not a bad game. The graphics are dark and creepy, and fairly detailed, nothing like the games of today's standards, but still, not bad. This game is about the wild west and the outlaws that made the west wild. Blackjack was one of those notorious outlaws killing 21 men, hence the name. Blackjack cursed the entire town when he was buried, and someone has unearthed him and his fury once again.....in his afterlife.
There is no Hint system outside of the HOP's so you will need to figure out what to do and where to go on your own. There are no frills, no bells or whistles, just a solid adventure with fairly well hidden listed object finds and good puzzles to solve. But the best part of this game by far is the storyline making this a must play game on your list, enjoy!

I love the wild west theme this Time Management game has to offer, and the fact that you aren't spending most of your time doing trivial tasks. You can play this game in Relaxed, Normal or Expert modes, however, unless you opt for Expert mode you cannot earn all 9 Achievements. Each level has a hidden Treasure Chest, which will give you 1000 extra coins.
At the beginning of each level you are given several tasks to complete such as collecting a specific amount of tax revenue and building a specific number of houses. There are very few trivial tasks, just a few boulders or wood to clear from paths or livestock that may be blocking some paths, but there are more interesting tasks to do than in most TM games. Even the workers can be promoted, which is helpful if you need to replay a level because it's easier to achieve the time limit goals as you progress.
The goal is to figure out what needs to be built on the lots available, and when to build them. Houses must be built to accommodate the workers, which also generate tax revenue which is needed to build anything, Farms need to be built to feed the workers and keep up morale, Saw Mills need to be built to supply wood to build all of the buildings, so you need to figure out what gets built and when in order to have enough money, wood or food to progress. If you don't have enough food, the workers happiness declines and production suffers. You get an unlimited amount of workers, and there are different types of workers from tax collectors to manual labor workers. When a worker reaches 100% you can promote him, and all of the buildings, houses, sawmills, markets, blacksmiths etc, can be upgraded to either generate more taxes or more productions.
I really liked the fact that I didn't have to spend the majority of my time picking up sticks, repairing roads and collecting food down a predetermined pathway, I actually had to think about each move I made with this game. The graphics are cartoon drawings, but they are decent, and you get to read a few inspirational messages along the way, enjoy!
I recommend this game!

Redemption Cemetery: Clock of Fate Collector's Edition
Can you undo the past and set the trapped souls free?
This "Top Reviewer" is one of our most frequent game reviewers. We think you'll trust what they have to say and find their reviews helpful and informative.
This is one of the better Redemption Cemetery games, with some attempts to instill a sense of urgency and fear into the player, (but it really doesn't) The storyline in all RC's are really intriguing, helping the dearly departed right the terrible wrongs they feel they need redemption from. As with all Redemption games, you will help them move on beginning with Rupert Lee, a single dad who sacrificed his only daughter to save hundreds of other innocent lives. (makes you want to know more, right) He was so tormented by his actions that he took his own life, only to be tormented over and over in the afterlife. You have been "chosen" to return to the past, to try to fix the atrocity, over and over, reminding me of Groundhog Day, but the outcome never seems favorable for everyone, unless that is you are willing to make a deal with death himself. Are you willing to wager your soul to save others? (warning, some players found this offensive and I get it, it's kinda like having a ouija board, it probably doesn't work but why risk it?)
There's a new feature in this episode, the ability to click and drag items, pull open drawers and even climb vines, personally, it's not that exciting to me. There are inventory items that can be interacted with or that can be combined with other inventory items, as indicated by a green skull (red if the other item hasn't been found yet, green is good to go) There's an abundance of Crystal Skulls located throughout the game that can be used to purchase items for your very own tombstone. As with all Collector's Editions, there are several Achievements to earn, and it's presented to you in a grand way with a large stone that breaks open to expose the creepy figurine associated with the Achievement.
The Hidden Object Scenes, just 3 in the demo, were mediocre at best, the first one tasks you with finding several ladder rungs to repair a ladder with a couple of slightly easy to figure out interactions. The next two were repeats in the same place and the same style, finding items that are associated with the words in bold yellow and red print as a story about Rupert's life, the items in red require an interaction of some sort. You have the option of playing a Match 2 game where you uncover two tokens at a time as you try to match two identical symbols, when you do match two symbols, the tokens do a quick shuffle around the board to attempt to make the game harder.
The Mini Games are very easy, again only 3 in the demo, and I was able to complete them all on the first attempt. 1) Set the numbers in place for the year in which Rupert was born and died using a newspapers clues given. 2) Choose two different symbols that together form the 9 different symbols shown on a makeshift rope. 3) Turn gear's to open latches, selecting some gears affect other gears.
This Collector's Edition has 4 different Soundtracks, 6 Screensavers, 15 Wallpapers, 14 Concept Art pictures, 21 replayable Hidden Object Puzzles, 13 replayable Mini Games, 11 replayable Match 2 games, Collectible Crystal Skulls to build a tombstone just the way you like it, Achievements, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter. I love the storyline, but I must admit I found this game to be more of a movie than a game with very little to do in the demo which makes me wonder if the purchased game offers more?

Keep in mind that this is a Match 3 game designed for kids, or perhaps adults who just want to play a lighthearted Match 3 game. The Fairy village of Faevill has been taken over by a greedy Leprechaun named Goldy who threatens Ruby and her friends to pay him or suffer the consequences. When they are unable to meet his demands, he orders thugs to destroy their houses, leaving the village in shambles. You must play Match 3 games to find magical stars that will repair everyone's humble abodes a little at a time.
You can choose Relaxed or Timed modes and the goal is to make at least 3 identical matches by swapping tiles. Matches of 4 or more fills up the magical Amulet which unleashes an electric fury, destroying several random tiles on the board. Each level contains a specific amount of stars that can only be collected by making matches under them until they drop off of the board entirely. Matches must be made on all blue cells as well, and some tiles are Tangled with webs that require matches of whichever icon is tangled to release it. There are also rocks that cannot be moved and will disappear only when they drop off the board. As you progress, you receive powerups such as Bombs that clear a 3x3 area or Flames that take out an entire row, each level will give you another powerup which can be saved up because they carry over to the next level.
Again, this game isn't going to knock the socks off ya if you're looking for a challenging Match 3 game, it's totally designed to entertain the kids, which I believe it will, so for the youngsters, it's a "I recommend this game" for adults I would have to suggest you pass on this one.

fromHow is it possible that I had to solve several puzzles, fix an entire boat engine and shovel the snow, catch a bunch of marine life, and arrive to the other side of the lake seconds after Abigail and Ellie?
This "Top Reviewer" is one of our most frequent game reviewers. We think you'll trust what they have to say and find their reviews helpful and informative.
Ellie has begged you to visit her in Alaska to visit her Fiance Daniel, after all it will be a great photo opportunity for your latest best seller. The two of you have a great deal to catch up on, but that's going to have to be later because Daniel has invited the two of you to dinner at his house, problem is, he neglected to tell his mother they were coming. For most mothers, this wouldn't be a problem, but for Abigail, an extremely over protective mother who want's Daniel all to herself, Ellie is a problem, a huge problem! Something has already happened to his first fiance, Claire, who mysteriously disappeared without a trace two years ago. Did Abigaile have anything to do with her disappearance, and what are her plans for poor unsuspecting Ellie?
The local shaman has foreseen your arrival, and has given you a powerful amulet. This amulet can be used upon any animal totem to magically transform you into the animal totem, temporarily of course. Each time you become one with the animal, you will play a mini game as seen through that animals eyes, such as guiding a mouse through a maze using directional arrows, or soaring through the skies as an owl and finding objects shown through a viewfinder you control. There are Plus Sign inventory items on some inventory items that require some type of interaction before the item can be used, There is a Snowflake icon located on the left of the screen that will allow you to make it snow, either no snow at all, or practically a blizzard. and the Collector's Edition has the addition of Achievements to earn and Collectible Character Figurines to find. Because you are a wildlife photographer, you have a digital camera that allows you to photograph any wildlife you come across, however, there is no indication to alert you (at least in custom mode) so you will have to pay attention. (only available in the CE)
The Hidden Object Puzzles are varied and are usually presented in three stages. Some have Morphing Objects to find followed by interactive list finds, silhouetted shape finds, fragment finds or finding 3 items of each picture shown. There is an alternate Match 3 game available if you aren't into HOP's. There are 13 HOP's available throughout the game.
The Mini Games are fun, however they really aren't new and they are very easy puzzles. Tiles to rotate to complete an image but some tiles affect other tiles, untangling a rope by moving the knots to different areas until none of the rope segments overlap, and navigating a boat and using the boats light to find 3 jellyfish, 5 squid and 5 fish, and then clicking on each colored sections to change the color to match them.
The Collector's Edition has 10 Concept Art pictures, 5 Soundtracks, 11 Character Figurines, 11 Wildlife photos, 22 Achievements, 13 replayable HOP's, 23 replayable Mini Games, 21 Cutscenes, 11 Wallpapers, and 5 Personality Quiz Questions that will match your answers to 5 different characters personalities, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy!

Frank and Carol's wedding at the Hollow Oak Estate was absolutely beautiful, and they've asked you to return this evening to take one last photograph of Carol and her beloved sister Martha. The storm outside is relentless but the storm inside the Whittle Estate seems to be even more tempestuous! Family secrets never stay secret for long, even poor old dad, Jasper thinks his daughter knows the truth, and this truth is as ugly as it get's!
I've always been a fan of the Dark Canvas series, but I do want to voice my opinion about the games of late that seem to have more makings of a great movie, and less game play. I love the cinematics, but I also love the puzzles which seem to be scarce lately. Because you are a photographer, you are equipped with a camera that will be used to shoot pictures whenever there's a star like symbol (the camera will glow) and the pictures slowly reveal the terrifying history that took place inside the Hollow Oak Estate. I found this feature to be really intriguing, especially once I started taking the pics that began to piece together a storyline I needed to know more about. Some of the inventory items have plus signs that indicate some type of interaction needs to be performed before the item can be used. There are Achievements to earn and my favorite feature, Haunted or Beyond Morphing Objects are available in every scene, AND there's no cursor change to say "here I am" which makes it so much better!
The Hidden Object Puzzles vary, but none are really unique, I will say however, for the first time in a long time, there was an item I had difficulty spotting on the very first listed item HOP (the baby carriage) There are Silhouetted Shape finds, and a couple of them required you to find the item in the green text of a sentence one of which was through a tiny keyhole.
The Mini Games seemed a little on the simplistic side, I was able to finish all of them on the first attempt withing a few seconds, but I've played a lot of games and I've gotten familiar with most of them.
1) Move the colored tokens into the slots that match their symbols using a silver slider device to pick up the token of choice and slide Right or Left to the desired location. 2) Sort through a box of decorations to make matches of related items, the items on top must be matched first. 3) Using codes shown on an ornate box (A+H=3 for example) determine the correct number combination then enter those numbers on the available tumblers.
This Collector's Edition has 25 Concept Art Pictures, 11 Soundtracks, 8 replayable HOP's (that's not very many BF) 10 replayable Mini Games or Puzzles (again not very many BF) 4 Wallpapers, 16 Hidden Photographs, an Attic Room where the photos are kept which allows you to complete portraits revealing the atrocities that took place within the Estate, 30 Haunted Morphing Objects, and a built in Strategy Guide, I gotta go take pictures now, enjoy!
