Ghosts aren't real, haunted houses don't exist, and paranormal phenomenon can be scientifically explained and refuted, or so the Nolan's thought! Margie and her father Arthur Nolan are investigating the Heart Estate which has been abandoned since 1904. They ain't afraid of no ghost, in fact quite the opposite: they're here to debunk this haunted mansion, with scientific evidence. Luisa Heart, on the other hand, has no intention of being dismissed. This spirit has a ghostly story to tell, a story of love, deceit.......... and murder!
What a great storyline, ghost hunters with a level head, rationally trying to explain the unexplainable, even when there is no reasonable explanation. No ghost hunter would be credible without a Paranormal Detector, whenever you see paranormal activity, you search the room through the viewer to find the symbol shown, which exposes the source. The Collector's Edition has the addition of Achievements to earn, and each scene has a Collectible Hidden Heart to find, some of which are well hidden, others in plain sight. (they're still visible in this Edition, you just can't collect them)
The Hidden Object Scenes are all about the same, usually with two different layers, Progressive Interactions, Silhouetted Shape Finds, Interactive List Finds and Multiples of a single Item Finds, followed by replacing some items back into the scene, or collecting fragments uncovered. The only thing I was truly disappointed in was that most of the scenes are repeated a second time. In the Collector's Edition, each HOP has a Morphing Object to find for an extra challenge.
The Mini Games are decent, but nothing new, below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Rearrange tokens to create an image. 2) Click on groups of eyeballs until all are closed. 3) Drag the bars horizontally or vertically to free all four corners (Blocks) 4) Swap accessories on three different color coded dresses to complete ensemble. 5) Click on the correct buttons as shown in a mirror image, then move tokens into the circles of matching colors. 6) Move telescope viewer up, down, and side to side to focus and find image shown. 7) Untangle ropes then undo all carabiners, clicking on one affects others.
The Collector's Edition has 42 Collectible Hidden Hearts, 24 Achievements, 19 replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 23 replayable Mini Games, 8 Wallpapers, 8 Concept Art pictures, Character Bios, 6 Music Soundtracks, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy!

After defeating Athens, Poseidon cursed King Minos by having his wife, Queen Pasiphae, give birth to a Minotaur! (poor woman, it wasn't her fault) The Minotaur became so monstrous, that King Minos had a labyrinth built to contain him, and ordered that 7 boys and girls enter the labyrinth for sacrifice. (nothing but the best for his first born son) The King's daughter Ariadne, fell in love with Theseus, a brave young man who volunteered to kill the Minotaur. Ariadne gave him Thread to lead him through the labyrinth, and a sword to defeat the beast, but the sword wasn't strong enough to kill the Minotaur's soul. The Minotaur's spirit now wanders through the labyrinth as he awaits the Planetary Conjunction..........and you, the Chosen One!
I'm really on the fence with this game, the storylines decent and the graphics are crisp, but there's just something about the game that doesn't draw me in. Perhaps it's because the Mini Games are too easy and the Hidden Object Puzzles are just so-so, it just doesn't WOW me. There are plenty of extras in this Collector's Edition, but again, the extra's didn't thrill me either. There are 12 Story Based Achievements and 12 Skill Based Achievements to earn, 10 Morphing Water Lilies and 10 Water Hyacinths to collect as well. There's also a Bug Collection to discover throughout the game with 7 specimens in each category, Butterflies, Fireflies, Night Butterflies and Dragonflies. Because you work in a museum, you have access to Ariadne's Thread, the same artifact that Theseus used to defeat the cursed offspring of King Minos. Eventually, 3 gems will adorn the artifact necessary to kill the beast, which also help you as you progress with powers such as the ability to melt gold (golds soft, I could achieve this with a bic)
The Hidden Object Scenes aren't that impressive in my opinion, but at least they are very interactively based puzzles. There are Multiple Finds where you find several of the same item, Progressive Interactive List finds and Progressive Silhouetted Shape finds where you find an item that matches the silhouetted shape or description, and use that item back into the scene interactively to expose the next item. There are also story based HOP's where you find key words during a story.
The Mini Games aren't bad, but they are extremely simple. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Flip the tiles on several book spines to reveal matching symbol pairs.
2) Correctly place items in a book as a story unfolds.
3) Swap the tokens to complete Ariadne's family tree.
4) Refuel the tanks by swapping tokens of different values to equal the sum of 50.
5) Slide blocks out of the way to move the blue block into position.
6) Listen to Pasiphaes story and complete the interactions to proceed.
7) Complete the image by rotating and swapping the triangle sections, for two different puzzles.
This Collector's Edition has replayable HOP's and Mini Games, 18 Wallpapers, 9 Concept Art pictures, 10 Music Soundtracks, Cutscenes, 7 Collectible Butterflies, 7 Collectible Night Butterflies (isn't that a moth?) 7 Collectible Fireflies, 7 Collectible Dragonflies, 12 Story Based Achievements, 12 Skill Based Achievements, 10 Morphing Water Hyacinths, 10 Morphing Water Lilies, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy!

After reading several reviews for this game, many reviewers complained that there wasn't much of a storyline, and I do agree, BUT.....this is one of my all time favorite game series and I've played them all, so take this into consideration. I'm very familiar with the ongoing saga, and after 5 years and several games later, I found that I had more questions than answers, and decided to go back to this first episode for a refresher course. After playing the most current Grim Tales: The Heir, I vaguely recognized one of the "ghosts" who claims to be Anna's great-grandfather. He explained that he as well as other family members are witches (warlock in this case) and they have the ability to travel back in time. That story gave relevance to this story and vice versa. Both stories make much more sense when you compare them side by side. However, what I don't understand is this, 1) if Anna met this same man in the beginning, and gave her the power to time travel in an attempt to save her sister, why doesn't she recognize him in The Heir? 2) In the journal of The Bride, Anna states that her mother passed away and her father vanished mysteriously leaving her no choice but to leave her 13 year old sister Luisa with the Nanny while she attended school. Later entries to the diary stated that she and Luisa were twins, so why did Anna have the responsibility of Luisa's caregiver, and why did Anna leave for school if they are both the same age? Anyway, I strongly recommend that you start this series all over or, if you haven't played this series, check it out in it's entirety. Here's a recap of my review of the Collector's Edition, but honestly, this Edition is better unless you simply must have wallpapers.
Anna's sister Luisa has disappeared on her Wedding Day, she was last seen being pushed into the river by a dark figure. A search team was unable to find Luisa's body and she was declared dead. Anna was grief stricken and vowed to solve her mysterious murder at any cost. She is startled when she arrives at the Gray mansion, by an unfamiliar guest who offers her an unusual deal. "I will return you to the moments contained in Luisa's memories, and step by step you'll be able to find the answers you are searching for, and have a chance to save Luisa." There's always a catch, and he reveals the terms of the contract, "If you fail in your attempts to pass through her memories at anytime, your soul will be mine!" That's how it all began, so apparently her paranormal abilities were there all along, she just wasn't aware of her abilities. (or perhaps he allowed her to keep this extraordinary gift)
Because this game was released in 2011, there's no map, or way to transport, other than old schooling it and making numerous trips back and forth as you find an item in one scene and have to use it in the previous scene. That's okay with me, in fact, I think it makes the game more interesting and personal because it makes you concentrate on the game and the surroundings more. Several times in the game I paused to notice the sounds that accompanied the game, with really good FX's, such as howling wind that really brought life to the game. The one thing I really missed was the fact that you can't lock the inventory bar, I have gotten so used to that feature that I forgot that it's a more recent feature! The graphics are amazingly good for such an old game which I'm certain attributed to the fact that BF is the leader in the gaming world.
I have to cut this game a little slack when it comes to the Hidden Object Puzzles. There's nothing special, all of them are simple Listed item finds with absolutely no interactions, but when this game was released, that's all we wanted, HOP's ands lot's of em. Nowadays, we seek more of a challenge in our constant quest to have bigger and better HOP's. Don't let that deter you, the puzzles might be old school but they are still well done and somewhat challenging.
Below are brief descriptions of the Mini Games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Click and drag several gears to the correct pegs so that all gears turn. 2) Assemble triangle and square shaped puzzle pieces so that all pieces fit into the form. 3) Use the directional arrows to slide the color coded squares around the board until they fit over their matching gems, using each other as bumpers. 4) Click, drag and rotate mosaic puzzle pieces to complete a bas-relief.
The Collector's Edition has Wallpapers, Concept Art, Soundtracks, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, none of which is available or shown unless you purchase the full version, enjoy!

I'm a huge fan of the Grim Tales storyline. After recently playing another amazing Grim Tales: The Heir, I had to go back to the beginning to refresh my memory. Sure enough, the demonic looking ghost that made an appearance and revealed that not only was he was a family member, but that he was a warlock, stemming from a long line of witches and warlocks. Still, it didn't explain exactly how Anna was able to time travel into the past. Now it all makes sense! In Grim Tales: The Bride (which is the pilot episode btw) Anna's sister Luisa has disappeared on her Wedding Day, she was last seen being pushed into the river by a dark figure. A search team was unable to find Luisa's body and she was declared dead. Anna was grief stricken and vowed to solve her mysterious murder at any cost. She is startled when she arrives at the Gray mansion, by an unfamiliar guest who offers her an unusual deal. Count Sergey Antonov has arranged a meeting with you at the Narevsky Theater in St. Petersburg. He's hoping your skills as a Psychologist and hypnotherapist can help his fiance and star of the theater, Irina, who has been experiencing blackouts and odd behaviour. Sergey was about to tell you his theory for the strange behaviour when tragedy strikes and the entire theater panics and becomes hysterical, there's been a murder!
Because of your expertise in hypnosis, you have brought your family watch along with you that allows you to quickly hypnotise your patients, well....after playing a Mini Game of course. Some of the inventory items have plus signs, and many of which have a small puzzle to solve. The Collector's Edition has the addition of Hidden Signs, (Hand Bell's) to collect, and there are 13 different Achievements to earn.
The Hidden Object Scenes are really entertaining. There are Interactive List Finds, Silhouetted Shape Finds where you find the item that matches two different items combined, such as a Star and a Fish equals a Starfish, Descriptive Finds in multiples, and even finding 5 of the same item to receive a tool to open up a list. There are even smaller zoom zone HOP's where you are given a handful of objects to find. You can still opt for a Match 3 game if you're not into the HOP's, both Editions offer this feature.
The Mini Games were my favorite part, very fresh and very entertaining. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Drag the gear through the maze, pressing the colored buttons to change the obstacles. 2) Rotate the parts so that both of them fit onto the shapes when you press the red button. 3) Hypnosis game with progressively harder puzzles requiring you to connect shapes with specific numbers of connections. 4) Rotate cylinder rings to create an image. 5) Press cash register keys matching the number each symbol represents. 6) Unlock the safe using the example shown in the correct directions. 7) Select the green arrows to navigate a car to the hospital. If you come across an obstacle, you need to figure out a different path. (this one's surprisingly fun)
The Collector's Edition has 13 Achievements, 26 replayable Mini Games, 15 replayable HOP's, freeplay Match 3 Games, 9 Music Soundtracks, 46 Collectible Handbell Signs, 8 Concept Art Pictures, 8 Wallpapers, a Souvenir Room, 8 Videos, a Bonus Video from concept to game (excellent production) a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Adventure, enjoy!

Ignac is a well known alchemist and craftsman who has been secretly experimenting with clay and fire. He has been trying to breathe life into a Clayborne to protect the citizens of Prague. Something goes terribly wrong however, causing his creation to wreak havoc on the city, and the King to sign his death warrant! Ignac's daughter Ilona must search for the truth and discover her father's true intentions to save her father from certain death. Ilona stumbles onto evidence that could lead to the abolishment of alchemy altogether, as she discovers daunting evidence of foul play within the Order of Alchemy!
Although this story is eerily similar to the Golems story, I found this game to be a well written and entertaining game, even if the storylines been presented in every way possible. The graphics are top notch and the puzzles are very clever. There are several Achievements to earn as well as 43 Hidden Fire Symbols to find. Some of the scenes have hidden pieces of Stone Plates that form Animal Alchemy symbols once all three fragments have been found.
The Hidden Object Scenes are varied and usually multi-layered, there are the usual types, Progressive Silhouetted Shape finds where you find the first item that matches the Silhouetted Shape and use that item in the scene interactively to expose the next item. There are also Listed items during a narrated story where you find items in Bold Print, Fragmented mirrors shards to find, and drawings that depict something missing or an object needed to achieve the end result. Some of the HOP's have a Morphing Object to find as indicated by a swirling icon. You can opt to play a game of Stepping Stones instead, a click and drag variation of a Match 3 game.
The Mini Games are quite decent, most of them are somewhat time consuming, but doable. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Open several doors to match identical pairs of cogs.
2) Select an image from the bottom of the screen, the sun and moon show how to set the hands of the clock on the top screen. Use the reference page to point hands to the correct zodiac symbols.
3) Move the buttons so the number match how many times the symbol is shown on a reference.
4) Turn the needle using arrows until only the three symbols indicated on the drawing are lit, then rotate the crystals to guide the light beam to the bottom.
5) Draw a Line that connects the starting point to each triangle with limited moves and without moving diagonally or crossing the same field.
This Collector's Edition has 43 Hidden Fire Symbols, 15 Morphing Objects within the HOP's, 20 replayable Puzzles, 15 replayable HOP's, replayable Skipping Stones games, a Souvenir Boat, 3 hidden Animal Alchemy Symbol stone plates for 8 different animals, 15 Videos, 9 Music Soundtracks, 8 Wallpapers, 8 Concept Art pictures, 14 Achievements to earn, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Adventure, enjoy!

Loreen and Nathaniel are newlyweds who decide to visit the Merry Castle on their honeymoon to have a little fun. Well, they sure do get their money's worth when they discover they are locked in their rooms with no escape routes....or so they thought. The Royal couple are separated when Nathaniel falls through a trapdoor, but Loreen is quick witted and soon finds a secret passageway. The story splits back and forth from one character to the other, as they make their way through uncertainty, hoping to be reunited, and hoping to survive this "funhouse"
There is a really good sense of humor in this cartoonish style game, but don't let the graphics deter you, the graphics are sharp and crystal clear, and with this game, the cartoon style actually works. There are 15 Achievements to earn and 29 Hidden Collectible Lions to adorn Nathaniel's Family Crest, two features you don't often get in a Standard Edition! Some of the inventory items can be combined by dragging the correct inventory item to the inventory item marked with a plus sign. There aren't really any Hidden Object Scenes, but every scene is jam packed with inventory items to collect and several areas of interest as well, not to mention the fact that a lot of the tasks require you to think outside the box.
There might not be HOP's but there are a lot of Mini Games. Most of the puzzles are doable on the first attempt, and they are decent games but nothing really new. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Place books in the correct order once you find the clue.
2) Reconstruct a stained glass window by fitting triangle and square shaped pieces correctly.
3) Repeat the sequence of piano keys played in three different reps.
4) Arrange a mosaic puzzle by swapping round puzzle pieces.
5) Open all of the skeleton's fingers to release the crystal, selecting one finger may trigger other fingers to close.
This is a great addition to Royal Trouble, the devs have found a unique niche that I'd personally like to see more of, enjoy!

I always complain that there's never any excitement in a Mahjong game, but this game proved me wrong! For starters, this is the first time I've ever seen a customizable difficulty setting for Mahjong. You have the options of a Casual setting that has no timer and shows all available tiles, Normal setting gives you ample time to finish the level, shows all available tiles and the hint and shuffle features recharge slowly, the Expert setting only gives you a small amount of time to finish each level, free tiles are not highlighted and the hint and shuffle features recharge very slowly. There's also a Custom setting offered that allows you to use a timer, choose the recharge times from 10-120 seconds, whether to show available times and allows for a time bonus. There are Mahjong games available in seven different locations with a total of 140 different layouts. You can choose which layout you want to play within the current level but other locations aren't unlocked until you finish the layouts in the current location, or earn enough points. You can earn up to three gold stars per layout, extra points are given for speed matches, and there is a meter that shows how many matches are consecutively achieved, pausing will stop the meter.
There are several different types of Mahjong available and each new type gives you clear directions on how to play. There is the Traditional Mahjong where you simply match available free tiles and remove the hidden Gold tiles. Great Wall Mahjong requires you to remove two matching tiles, but the tiles must be on opposite sides of the wall in the middle, AND they must equal the number 7 combined. Solitaire Mahjong requires you to match tiles of the same suit that equal the number 14, Kings are worth 13, Queens 12, Jacks 11, Aces 1 and the rest face value. One Pair requires you to find logical matches of pictured tiles (key and lock) each layer has only one logical match. Balance Mahjong requires you to match tiles of either blue or red, keeping the balance bar equal (red then blue then red etc) if the balance bar reaches the maximum point, game over. Shuffle Mahjong is basically speed mahjong, the tiles will shuffle if you do not remove a pair of tiles within 10 seconds. Memory Mahjong requires you to turn over one of four tiles (shows for 10 seconds) at the bottom over and find the matches on the board.
Some of these games are quite challenging, and the only one I found to be somewhat boring was the traditional Mahjong. Give this game a try, surely one of these Mahjong game types will change your mind about Mahjong as well, enjoy!

This Mahjong game could have been really fun, but just about every game required me to use Power-ups that cost 500 coins every time. To make matters worse, once you use a costly power-up, you can't use that type again on that level. The power-ups consist of: Shuffle, which shuffles the remaining tiles, a Random Remove feature that removes a random tile, Explode which also removes a tile but of your choosing, and a Swap feature which swaps a tile with another.
There has been a robbery at the Museum so you must find clues which are basically puzzle pieces you receive after each game, that will form a recovered item (12 items total) in the form of a trophy. Each themed game has two exhibits each exhibit has 15 levels, Egypt, India, China, Mayan, Roman, and the Royal Palace for a total of 180 games.
Each regular Mahjong tile matched, earns you 10 coins, each gold tile matched earns you 50 coins, and you can earn up to three gold stars for each game. You can replay the levels as often as you want to try to earn a better score, enjoy!

The nominees for the prestigious Pride of Humanity award are all gathered together in a beautiful castle, making their final preparations for the upcoming events. A sudden storm wipes out the only road leading in or out of the property, and knocks out the electricity as well as all communications! (this scenario is flawed in oh so many ways, as you will notice) There's a storm brewing inside as well it would seem, not only are the nominees bitter rivals, but someone has been dealing some poetic justice to the contestants, one by one. First a poem about the attempted murder, then an attempt at murder, which is only thwarted by your quick wits and skills as a doctor. If you ask me, this would be the perfect way to cinch the award, after all, you are the hero each and every time!
The graphics are actually very good, and the characters are real actors, but there's just something about this game that's not exciting. Everything is predictable, and the games are too simple. There are plus sign inventory items requiring further action before the items can be used, and there are the usual Achievements to earn. Each scene has a hidden Morphing Invention Card which tells you about some of the early inventions that changed our lives forever.
The Hidden Object Scenes are just okay, mostly list finds with slight interactions or progressive silhouetted shape finds. I did enjoy the HOP where you had to click on morphing items when the item was in the correct form, but the morphs could have been slower to present more of a challenge.
The Mini Games are too simple in my opinion, although I don't necessarily want puzzles that make me want to pull my hair out from frustration, I do want puzzles that challenge me, at least a little bit. Below are brief descriptions of the Mini Games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Open a safe once you find the combination.
2) Examine Dr. Hopkins using the different medical instruments in your kit by selecting the instrument then where to use the instrument.
3) Change the pattern within the purple jar to match the pattern shown.
4) Arrange castle sections to match the picture shown by sliding parts along unblocked rails.
5) Press the compression button whenever the red line touches the green heartbeat, if you make 3 mistakes you'll have to start over.
6) Rotate the stained glass pieces until they match the colored outlines by rotating sections.
This Collector's Edition has 25 Hidden Morphing Invention Cards, 9 Concept Art pictures, 12 Achievements, Music Soundtracks, Videos, replayable Mini Games, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, but you cannot view most CE extras until you complete the main game.
