Redemption Cemetery has never been one of my favorite series because some games are really good, some are really bad. At Death's Door, however, has given this series redemption with spectacular graphics and a storyline that holds your interest from beginning to end. I love the creepiness of the game starting out with an ominous cemetery where you are knocking at Death's door and hoping he ain't home! I also loved how this game takes us full circle, allowing us to learn how the first redemptor came to fruition, which disrupted the natural order and balance between life and death. After freeing Seera, the Keeper of souls from her eternal chains of imprisonment, you learn there's only one way out of this eternal damnation, redemption. You must save three souls so that they might find their redemption, by returning to their past to help them right the wrong that has prevented their souls from resting in peace.
At Death's Door is pretty Bare Boned when it comes to collectibles. if my memory serves me right, the last game in this series had an overabundance of Crystal Skulls lying all over the place. There are still collectibles of different time devices, but only a mere 14. This would have been a great game to have included some really good beyond objects, but I guess we can't always get what we want. There are Achievements to earn like all Collector's Editions include, but I must give the devs kudo credit on how interesting they have made this often overlooked feature. When you earn an Achievement, you are shown statistics which is really cool for the HOS which tells you the percentage of accuracy, the number of clicks and how long it took you to find all of the objects. This would be a really cool feature without the achievement award, I for one would love to see statistics for all HOS and Puzzles.
The Hidden Object Scenes are varied with the usual types of scenes, Interactive List finds, Interactive Silhouetted Shape finds, Multiples of a single item finds and finding items in Bold print during a background story, either as is or interactively. The scenes are somewhat dark, but the items are easy to find and identify.
The Mini Games are decent, none seem too difficult or too frustrating. The following are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Click on skeleton arms in the correct order to open the door. Choosing one arm may affect others.
2) Put the runes together using directional arrows to rotate, and swapping fragments.
3) Recreate the puzzle image by selecting and dragging rows horizontally and vertically.
4) Select matching molds that aren't obstructed by other molds.
5) Select branches to climb, followed by using directional arrows to avoid falling rocks, and then selecting the correct branches for the final step.
6) Align bags, selecting one affects others.
This Collector's Edition has 15 Concept Art Pictures, 10 Wallpapers, 9 Screensavers, 3 Music Soundtracks, 10 Movies, 18 replayable Mini Games, 20 replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 16 Achievements, 14 Collectible timepieces, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy!
I recommend this game!

This is my favorite Jigsaw Puzzle series, and I usually purchase them sight unseen because I know that Earth Chronicles always has my favorite genre, flora and fauna, and lots of em! This game offers beautiful puzzles in seven categories, Animals, Birds, Landscapes, Flora, Waterworld, Food and Humans, for a mind boggling 1001 jigsaw puzzles!
There are several different features that will help keep you organized and on track, a box to store extra pieces, you can post an image of the picture and choose what size you want, or you can ghost the image on the background. There is a magnifying glass and a hint feature, you can use the auto sort button and border pieces only, as well as change the color of the background to pink, green, blue or gray. You can save any unfinished puzzles and there are tasks to complete to earn trophies.
My favorite feature hands down is the Modify section which allows you to customize any of the puzzles. You choose how many pieces you want, the shape of the puzzle pieces and whether you want the pieces to rotate or not.
I do however have a few complaints that I wish the devs could hear. The music: it's always the same, not just with Earth Chronicles, but with every game they offer, perhaps a second option would be nice. The Sort option: the sort option will "sort" the puzzle pieces according to the area they belong. To me, that's practically doing the puzzle for me, when I assemble a real jigsaw (and virtual) I sort the pieces by color and arrange them neatly on the outside of the border, making sure none of them overlap. It doesn't seem like it would be too difficult to have a few different sorting options, perhaps one that lines the puzzle pieces up in rows, one that sorts shapes of puzzle pieces and one that sorts by color, as well as what's available now. The Background colors: are somewhat too dark with certain puzzles, perhaps being able to adjust the intensity of the background colors. Screensavers: I don't understand why there's never an option to save these pictures to your computer to actually enjoy??? You complete a puzzle, the puzzle gives you a quickie glance and seconds later, the statistics of the completed puzzle takes over the screen.
If you are a jigsaw geek like myself, and you prefer nature and animal themes, then I highly recommend this edition, as well as the other three, enjoy!
I recommend this game!

I love mosaic puzzles and I love this fantasy elven themed puzzle. This is a timed game (Relaxed Mode available) where you assemble the puzzles by selecting pieces from the right side and place them correctly. There are 20 locations and each location has 20 different puzzles made of wood, fabric, glass, paper, jewels and metal. To earn 3 keys you must complete the puzzle, complete the puzzle without mistakes and complete the puzzle in the allotted time. You will earn coins that can be used to Add Time, Refill the Hint feature, or unlock other locations if you haven't earned enough keys to progress. The pictures are beautiful, and if you want to relax, you can switch to a relaxed mode with no timer which give this game a whole new meaning, enjoy!
I recommend this game!

This game had potential in the beginning, but I quickly grew weary of the endless HOP's and switching to the Underworld to find matching symbols. The graphics are fantastic in some areas, but cartoonish in others, especially within the Hidden Object Scenes. The storyline is good, but it's nothing new, Victoria Bonpartie is a spiritualist and psychic who has the ability to see the unseen. While attending the ballet, she notices a note in her pocket with an address to LeForge School of Ballet, and she begins having visions of absolute horror. It is at this manor she learns that the director became possessed and murdered a couple of the girls, the others are in a deep sleep. Victoria must find a way to dispel the evil spirits to save the girls, and she receives help from one of the girls who lost her life, Letitia.
Letitia has given Victoria a powerful mirror that allows her to search the dark underworld. There are several possessed objects that indicate the use of the mirror which naturally comes complete with a Mini Game. There are symbols shown in Blue that require you to find the matching symbol within the scene. It's difficult to tell what that symbol is at times because it's partially hidden by the black ooze, but I suppose that was the plan. Eventually, you will collect 10 pieces of Letitia's memory which allows you to learn the background of her life and death story.
This game's all about the Hidden Object Scenes and I wasn't very impressed with the change in graphics, or the fact that some items are small and unrecognizable. (the castle looks like a padlock to me?) Even more odd, several of the objects morph constantly, but none of the morphing objects are the items you're looking for so what's the point of having em? Each scene is repeated at least once, the first time is a basic Listed Item Find, some words are in blue but again I don't know why, there are no interactions to perform and those items don't morph. The second time you revisit the scene it will be in the form of a Progressive, Interactive Silhouetted Shape find where you find the first item that matches the Silhouetted Shape and then use that item back in the scene interactively to expose the next item. You can opt for a Match 3 game instead of the HOS.
If you're the type of gamer who needs to know everything about the story, you're going to have to read the journal often. Most of the storyline is found there, even though some of the story is told with the dialog, the journal goes more in depth. It's not a horrible game, but for me, there wasn't enough of a wow factor to keep my interest so I for one will pass on this one.

This game is almost exactly like the first Haunted Hotel, and nothing like the newer versions, there's not even a haunting from what I can see. It's not creepy, it's not scary, in fact the rooms are brightly lit rooms with junk pile after junk piles.
Each room you visit has several listed items to find, some of the items will go into your inventory which is used to unlock the next room. None of the items require interactions, and most of the items are small and unrecognizable. Most of the items are the same in every scene, I can't tell you how many times I had to find a coat hanger, flashlight and a chess piece, but let me tell you they are in each and every scene.
The Mini Games are all about the same as well, most require you to figure out keypad or computer codes by trial and error or deduction such as putting in numbers that will turn green if correct, yellow if the number is correct but in the wrong place and red if that number isn't used.
Don't get me wrong, Haunted Hotel has evolved into a fantastic, and creepy series as of late, but it's roots were rotten.
I don't recommend this game.

The White Stone Order has another case for Laura James to solve, and Dr. Bishop is convinced that it's paranormal. Laura is one tough woman, especially when you consider this New York Mystery takes place in the 50's, a Journalist/Detective that doesn't let anything stand in her way, even the undead! When Laura starts her investigation of the brutal murder of Carrie Martel, a widow who buried her famous lawyer husband just hours ago, things just don't add up. Has Thomas returned to seek revenge, or is there a much more plausible theory?
I purchased the Collector's Edition because, New York Mysteries is known for its collections and The Lantern of Souls is no exception. There are 9 hidden Apples, 9 hidden Shields, 9 Music Symbols, and 9 hidden Miners. There are also 20 Achievements to earn and 35 Morphing Objects to find throughout the adventure, and a new feature of 16 collectible Fact Cards that give you fun facts about points of interest in New York.
The Hidden Object Scenes are scarce, with only 5 in the entire game, BUT, I promise you they will not disappoint you. These are extremely Interactive Progressive Silhouetted Shape Finds, with all kinds of gadgets to figure out and several smaller puzzles to solve within each HOP.
The Mini Games are really creative, however, several of them are just too simple to solve, my only complaint of this entire game. Below are brief descriptions of some of the Mini games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Rotate the arrow to set the correct sequence.
2) Select two symbols to create the symbols shown in the center.
3) Find pairs of taps that rotate at the same rate of speed.
4) Use a code to unlock a door.
5) Use the control buttons to help the mouse move a square to the designated spot.
6) Connect wires from left to right by following tangled leads.
The Collector's Edition has 9 Wallpapers, 16 Concept Art pictures, 26 Videos, 6 Music Soundtracks, 18 replayable Mini Games, 5 replayable Puzzles, 20 Achievements, 35 Hidden Collectibles, 16 collectible Fact Cards, 35 Morphing Objects, 20 Bonus Games, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy!

The Princess has been bequeathed the Chateau, but under the condition that she restore the garden to its old enchanting glory, but I'm betting she lets the maid do most of the work! It seems that this is a poor Princess too because she needs to earn money, the old fashioned way.....by matching identical stones in a marble popping match 3 type game.
Stones can be removed by matching at least 3 identical stones, you can take all the time in the world, there's no timer, so you can plan your move strategically. You simply shoot the stone that's shown at the bottom of the screen by left clicking, right clicking allows you to switch to the next colored stone. You can earn up to three stars, there is a star meter on the right side of the screen, and the less shots required, the more stars you'll earn, but it's not easy to earn all three stars. More stones are added if you aren't able to make matches, there is an indicator at the top of the screen that shows when more stones will be added, but not all columns will add stones, if there are X's on the top of the column, those columns will not add more stones.
There are obstacles added as you progress such as Locked Stones, or Stones with Weeds, or even stones that turn into Chests, that require you to make a match next to them to unlock and then another to match. Eventually bonuses are added such as the Magic Wand which will remove a stone of your choice. My favorite was the Bonus Levels where you can play as long as you survive, but you cannot take your time because new stones are added every few seconds and if the stones reach the bottom, you lose.
The money you earn allows you to rebuild the Chateau Garden one flower at a time, with flowerbeds, potted flowers, hedges, statues, ponds and bushes. Each category gives you three different options, each option has a low, medium and high budget, but you can upgrade any of your choices. I really enjoyed playing this game, I became so engrossed that I didn't notice how much time had passed, so I'll definitely be using a credit to continue this game, enjoy!
I recommend this game!

Congraduations! You managed to get captured by that crazy cephalopod, Doctor Blackmore while trying to save Tim at the Green Hills Sanitarium. You are fastened to a mechanical life support with no possibility of escaping (alive anyways) because the good doctor is annoyed with your constant meddling and the trouble you gave him as you searched for your sweetheart Tim at the Green Hills Sanitarium. The good news is that Tim is still alive as well, the bad news is that the doctor will allow you to save him AFTER you save the "other victims" and he plans on hindering your progress every chance he gets in this cat and mouse twisted game. He has hidden his victims in Alaska, Chicago, Chernobyl and even Pompei, so once again, you'll have to go through several of Dr. Blackmore's portals, and hopefully survive his delusional traps.
This game just keeps getting more biazar as it goes. I get that the mad doctor is notorious for experimenting on patients, but there's a kangaroo that can't read his newspaper until you find his glasses, a small marsupial that has a sugar addition, a pheasant that lays an egg after you shove a missing feather back into his derriere, only to hatch a baby that grows into a full grown ostrich! None of that makes sense, it's just too weird for me. The graphics are Hand Drawn, but par for the theme of the game, there's an overabundance of hues of greens, which makes it kind of ugly. You will find a Portable Laboratory eventually which allows you to create useful inventory items by combining ingredients in a specific order according to the recipe shown. (again, this makes no sense, where did the recipe come from?)
The Hidden Object Puzzles have improved however since the last few episodes, with Interactiveness included to their list finds as well as Progressive, Silhouetted Shape finds, but they are still a bit archaic in my opinion.
The Mini Games are just so so, and the directions are vague. Below are brief descriptions of a couple of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Match each finger ring to it's symbol by following wires to open each hand.
2) Connect all of the pieces, click button at the top to rearrange the pieces and each of the 6 buttons to rotate.
The Collector's Edition has 13 Concept Art pictures, 3 Screensavers, 6 Wallpapers, (the screensavers and wallpapers have the same pictures as the Concept Art pictures only they are the finished product) 4 Music Soundtracks, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter.
I don't recommend this game.

When the local Asylum catches fire, you have no time to lose, patients lives are at stake. But this is no ordinary fire, and this asylum has some extraordinary patients, patients that have been concealed from the outside world! Angelina is one of those patients, a young girl who had no business being locked up in as asylum, and now she's seeking revenge. Can you overcome the supernatural phenomenon and reverse years of abuse to mend Angelina's psyche before it's too late?
Choose your next step carefully, the choices you make will change the course of the game. Will you choose to calm down the horse or start the fire truck, will you gently calm Barney or use a more aggressive approach? Dr. Rorschach has a few ink blot tests waiting for you throughout the asylum, are you confident in your choices? You even get to choose which version of some Mini Games you want to play, but you only get to choose once! To be honest with you, I think the game is designed to give you the same end results either way, I chose the exact opposite playing this version as I did with the CE and I saw no difference in the outcome, but I didn't finish this version. The Collector's Edition has Achievements to earn and 36 Hidden Marbles as well, who lost their marbles I wonder?
The Hidden Object Scenes are actually far and few between but they are extremely creative and entertaining, if not a tad bit creepy. There are smaller Zoom Zone lists as well as interactive list finds, and one of my favorite, was rotating a cube to search for silhouetted shapes while placing the items you find on one side into the other. You even get to choose if you want to play a Hidden Object Scene or a Match 3 game.
The Mini Games are fresh, and creative. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Rotate the circles to restore the image, clicking on the center circle rotates others.
2) Follow the steps to resuscitate a drowning victim in the form of a few simple mini games.
3) Move the pills to set the clock to the reception time.
4) Swap the tiles on both sides of the machine to repair the pipes.
5) Choose the maze you want to play, a rotating maze or a static maze, using arrows in a limited amount of moves.
The Collector's Edition has 15 Achievements, 36 Hidden Marbles, 10 Music soundtracks, Movies, 10 Wallpapers, 12 Workshop pictures, a built in Strategy Guide and two Bonus Chapters, Runaway & Brilliant Mind, enjoy your stay at the asylum!
I recommend this game!

It's games like this one that make me wish 0 Stars was an option, perhaps negative number would work in this case. I absolutely love the newer versions of Haunted Hotel, my favorite being Haunted Hotel: X which is a fantastic, eerie, creepy game that takes place in a real haunted hotel. I'm not even sure this game is the same series because it's just so bad.
The story begins with 3 book pages of dialog to read, which really gets old reading page after page each and every time the character visits a new room. The main character, (whose name doesn't get mentioned), is driving someplace (again no explanation) on a dark winding road in the middle of a storm when he is blinded by a lightning bolt, which causes him to veer off the road and hit a sign. He reads the sign, Hotel 1 mile, and walks to the Hotel soaking wet, but once inside, he cannot find anyone, no clerk, no bellhops, not even a mouse is stirring. He gets on the elevator and goes one floor up, where he hears a woman scream in room 2018. He breaks down the door, and not only is nobody there, but the room is covered in snow and ice. Long story short, each room he visits gets weirder and weirder.
You visit each room to find listed items within a certain amount of time. There are several silhouetted shapes shown at the bottom of the list which will earn you extra time or extra hints.
After each room, you will enter a room to collect energy orbs, by clicking as many wicked fast flying orbs as possible, I have no idea why. Then you play a Mini game such as a Jigsaw puzzle, Untangling ropes or catching letters with a magnet on a conveyor belt. Honestly, the puzzles are more interesting than the hotel room HOP's. There's nothing haunted about this Hotel, it's not scary, it's just not fun.
I don't recommend this game.
