I am utterly confused by this game! I know it's a Monday, but after reading the Big Fish synopsis, I was prepared to play a Solitaire game of the Mahjong Style where you match pairs of the same numbered cards. At least that's how I interpreted this description:
"Solitaire Jack Frost - Winter Adventures 2 brings classical solitaire gameplay and improves on it with a new game mechanic - collect pairs of cards! A special multiplier increases your reward if you find card pairs quickly. Join Jack Frost on his new adventure today!"
After downloading this game, I created a profile and clicked on the Help section to read the game's instructions, which showed a picture of two cards (# 7) as if it were indeed a Match 2 type Solitaire. But as I read the instructions, they sounded as if it were the Higher/Lower type solitaire, as they talked about making chains regardless of suit, to fill up the multiplier Index Bar. Now I'm even more confused, so I begin to play, and sure enough it IS a Higher/Lower Solitaire game where you try to play cards on the board that are either one card higher or one card lower than the last card on the deck. So either BF has an incorrect description of the game, or I'm completely wrong in my perception of what it says about the game!
I gave this game only 3 Stars, not because of the above mentioned confusion, but because I really dislike the cookie cutter mechanics that this dev offers in ALL of their Solitaire games. The goal of each level is to remove all Special or Gold cards to win. Once you remove all special cards, the level is done, and you aren't given the option to continue playing to try to remove all of the cards on the board, and that drives me nutz! Another feature that drives me nutz, is when you remove a Bonus card (as indicated by a snowflake on the top right of the card) all game play comes to a screeching halt, the screen darkens and your prize is revealed, either 499 extra points, a joker, undo or shuffle feature. It only takes a second or two, but I hate the interruption!
Here are some features available in this game:
* There are 9 Winter Themed (not Christmas Themed) card backs to choose from * There are 3 different Face Card Fonts and styles to choose from. * Newbie Mode allows you to replay any level. * Professional Mode only allows you to replay the entire pack, of 10 levels. * You only need to remove the Gold cards to win, the maximum amount of points. * You can purchase bonuses in the shop with the coins you earn, a Shuffle feature, an Undo feature and a Joker feature. * Cards that have a Snowflake icon are bonus cards that award you with either 499 coins, or one of the above mentioned bonus features.
Hopefully I have cleared up the confusion about the type of Solitaire game this actually is, and I haven't just added more confusion. Personally, I'm not a fan of a Solitaire game that doesn't allow me to try to remove all of the cards on the board, not just some of the cards. Other devs have added the option to continue playing after removing all Gold cards, and I can't understand why they wouldn't give you that very simple feature option. Because of that, it's a no buy for me, but if that feature doesn't drive you nutz, this game could be right for you, enjoy!

Tis the Season, and the Elves are working overtime in Santa's Workshop, bringing us some of the most brilliantly colored Mosaic Puzzles I've ever seen! You can choose between 9 different tile types, and I choose the metallic style, which really made these vibrant colors pop. I've played just about every Mosaic Puzzle offered by Big Fish, and I can honestly say I've never seen a puzzle with such shiney colors ever before, you have to see it to believe it! The best part is that every puzzle can be solved using LOGIC!
You can play in a Casual mode where the numbers are crossed off one by one, or Advanced where the numbers are only crossed off when a column or row has been completed. The object of a Mosaic Puzzle, is to either fill in or cross off the cells, as indicated by numbers located on each column and row. Each group of numbers must be separated by at least one empty or crossed off cell, and sometimes it's easier to cross off cells where you know a filled in cell can't possibly go. This will narrow down the field, and switching between colors also helps solve the puzzles by narrowing down the field. Left Clicking will fill in a cell, and right clicking will cross off a tile, and you can switch between colors, by clicking on any of the 6 color bubbles located on the right side of the grid.
Each grid is different, some are small, some are large, some are squares, some are rectangular or oddly shaped. Each picture will create a toy to fill up Santa's Bag of goodies for all the good boys and girls, so you'd better be good, for goodness sake! When the demo ended (naturally just before I completed a puzzle!) I was so engrossed in the game that I forgot it was just a demo. When this happens, I know it's a winner, so I've already bought it, and if you're a Mosaic fan, you should definitely add this to your collection, enjoy!
I KNEW THIS GAME WAS GOING TO BE BORING THE MOMENT I DISCOVERED I'M A SEAMSTRESS

This game is so boring I don't even know what the story is about! Through sheer boredom, I either muddled through the demo on autopilot, or they have done a terrible job of relaying the plot. A Lover's Pledge? I met two women and a ghost in the demo, Julia Belmont and Clementine Lambert. The third character, Andrea Belmont had already committed suicide, so who pledged their love to whom is a mystery to me! One things for sure, I'm a Master Costume Designer, how exciting.
Danse Macabre is sliding down a slippery slope, one game at a time. The first few games in the series were really good, and they received a 4.4 average rating. By 2016 they slipped under the 4 star ratings, and by the end of 2017 the games are nearing the base of the slope as they dip dangerously close to average ratings below 3 stars. The truth of the matter is that this dev produces nothing but cookie cutter games, same story, same HOP's, same MG's, same Hidden Signs, same features, same graphics.
Lover's Pledge has everything you'd expect, it's predictable, it's just more of the same with a different title. Of course this Collector's Edition has 30 Hidden Signs, all Eipix games have Hidden Signs, and it's a feature that becomes so boring to look for after just a few scenes, that you don't care if you look for them or not. There's no challenge in finding them, they stick out like a sore thumb, and they aren't used for anything, they don't unlock special features, they just are what they are, "here's your sign". Other than a handful of Wallpapers and a Strategy Guide (which you won't need, it's an easy game) the only bling you get with this CE version are those signs, unless you count a Bonus Chapter as a plus. (which surely is just another chapter of boredom)
The Hidden Object Scenes are located in boring scenes with boring items to search for. The only HOP remotely interesting, was finding multiples of objects that pertain to a riddle, at least you have to think about what you're looking for. There are the standard, Interactive List Finds, Progressive Interactive Silhouetted Shape finds, Multiples of Objects finds, and Riddle Description finds. Some of the HOP scenes are repeated in the same location, something Eipix never did before, but have been doing so in the last few games offered, a feature most gamers hate because it's too boring a second time around! The good news is that there is an alternative Match 3 game to play, the bad news is that it's not a great Match 3 game.
The Mini Games are just okay, neither bad nor good, and certainly nothing new offered. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Click on pie shaped sections in the correct sequence as demonstrated.
2) Guide the ball through the maze to the center using directional arrows.
3) Complete the decoration by dragging sections of the decoration to empty slots.
4) Move all tokens to the frame located in the center, by selecting numbered buttons on each row and column, to push the tokens a specified number of spaces on the grid.
5) Arrange the four colored switches between their matching circles on the right by dragging groups of switches along the wheel or across the bar.

I really like what I'm seeing from 4 Friends games lately, yesterday's game just cinced the deal in my eyes. My only wish is that they would release more games in the Living Legends series, because these are fantastic, slightly twisted fairy tale games withe georgous graphics and really entertaining game play features. If you haven't played Living Legends games before, you're in for a real treat! Here's a recap of my review to help you decide which version, if either is right for you:
This ain't your mama's version of Beauty and the Beast! This is a Living Legends version of a hideous beast who took control of the castle, just hours before Leo Bonnet and Beatrix Chastel were to be wed. Uninvited guests are not welcome here, but Kate and Leo have stuck together since they were children, and Kate is always welcome at cousin Leo's castle. This invitation is either a curse or a cure, because nobody has left the castle alive, with the exception of Beatrix's father, who will stop at nothing to destroy the beast that holds his daughter captive!
Uninvited Guests reminds me of the earlier games in this series, and in my opinion, 4 Friends Games has been listening to us reviewers complaining about how games are becoming cookie cutter versions,. I hope other devs will follow suit and go back to their roots, when games were epic! In the Collector's Edition version, each scene has a Morphing Object, and 2 hidden Owls, one that looks like a statue, the other is usually a drawing and a wee bit harder to spot. They have a pull out tab on the left of the screen that tells you how many of each are in that location, and as you collect the owls, they become real when you visit the collections section. You are joined by a friendly squirrel helper, sort of. He doesn't really stick by your side, but he is in just about every scene, and he does get tricked into helping you occasionally, but he's certainly not an annoying helper per se.
The Hidden Object Scenes are mostly Interactive List finds, and that's alright by me, I kind of like old school in the HOP department. There are also Multiples of the same item finds, and Keyword in Sentences finds. I really enjoyed a couple of unusual one's where you had to find several predator's from different levels such as an eagle or hawk for the sky category, and I liked one where you had to find sketches of things that were alive. The graphics are clear and the objects for the most part are recognizable.
The Mini Games tend to be on the easy side of the scale, but I don't mind how easy or hard a puzzle is, as long as it's fun to solve. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Restore each animal's face by swapping pie shaped sections.
2) Find matching roses by choosing 2 roses to reveal at a time.
3) Assemble the portraits by swapping the pieces between 2 portraits. Pieces must be of the same orientation.
4) Click on puzzle sections until the correct image fragment appears.
5) Aim the crossbow and shoot when the scope turns green. (this is never a fun puzzle, the target is just standing still, where's the skill in this type of game?)
6) Engage in a Battle Royale by clicking on 3 or more identical tiles to remove them. The goal is to strategically remove all tiles, matches can be made horizontally, vertically, diagonally, or all of those directions, removing tiles will cause the tiles above the match to fall down. Repeat this game 3 increasingly difficult times.
7) Arrange the animals on the board so that no animal type repeat either horizontally or vertically.

Well, third times a charm, and I couldn't be more confused
Avondel is a small urban town in Vermont, so small you'd barely see it on a map, but Avondel has a very big problem! A supernatural problem! All those childhood urban legends about the Revenant's Hunt are true, and now the dead are returning to terrorize the living, but why? (just the right amount of detail, not too much, not too little, just right lol)
It's fall, and the leaves in Vermont are falling. Since this game is all about childhood legends returning when you least expect it, MCF has given us some good childhood memories to apply, when we least expect it, kicking piles of leaves of course! Throughout this Collector's Edition, you get to kick 10 different piles of leaves, as you search for 16 Morphing Objects (which is a feature I DO expect from MCF, but is surprising considering Eipic rarely offers Morps outside of the HOP's. There are 2 small icons underneath the inventory bar, to help you leep track of the CE bling. There are also 9 collectible Lore Cards that are stored neatly in your file box for easy reference, with various fun facts about the history of how the Reverant's Hunt came to fruition. (oops, did I say the word history?)
The Hidden Object Scenes are varied with different types such as Interactive List finds, Keywords, and Interactive Progressive Silhouetted Shape finds, Some of the scenes are repeated in the same location, which is a feature I really don't like, however, most of the HOP's have a hidden piece of Alvin's Letter, to collect and eventually read in it's entirity within your journal.
The Mini Games are really good, but aren't really what we've come to expect from previous MCF games. The puzzles are much easier to solve, even the Super Puzzles, have become, not so super. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Make all dials point to the circled numbers. Select the valve you want to move to, then select the lever to choose which way to move those dials.
2) Move the colored squares to match the colors on Malcolm's watch by selecting and dragging squares to move them. Matching colored squares connect when placed next to each other.
3) Recreate the flag by swapping flag sections.
4) Select the tiles according to the clue on the emergency light.
5) Insert the coin into the slot, then select the same objects that are shown briefly, within the allotted time frame.
6) Place the coin and then select and drag items shown in the correct order as shown.
7) Use the phone dial to enter the correct number you discovered in step #6, and repeate the same process over 3 times.
8) Memorize the pattern on the tuner then select the guitar's parts in the same order shown.
9) shoot down the spaceships by selecting the red button when the spaceships cross over the target.
10) Create a mirror image on the right side of the screen by selecting the colored button you want to use and a screen tile to color it in.

I love a good Match 3 game and this one kind of reminds me of my favorite Cradle series. There are a few minor issues for my personal tastes, otherwise it's fairly decent. First off, I didn't see any setting for difficulty modes, so I'm assuming that a Timed mode is all that's offered. Personally I'm okay with that because I don't turn to a Match 3 game for relaxation, I turn to Solitaire or Mosaic games when I want to chill, but this may be an important feature for others, so it's worth mentioning. The music is pleasant, but tends to get repetitive, and it does switche between a piano and guitar type of melody.
There are 21 Achievement Trophies to earn, and any level can be replayed by going to the level map, if you weren't able to earn all 3 Stars, which again, is my personal preference to play until I earn all 3 Stars. I think the biggest flaw this game has, is that you can't really upgade your power-ups, and there's nothing to build or work towards, other than a personal best per level?? The most annoying feature to me was the fact that it takes so long to end the level. Completing the goals is fairly quick, but afterwards it takes forever for the board to do its auto play, finishing up all the power-ups you have remaining on the board. I would much rather lose the power-up then to have to wait several seconds watching them explode, before I can move onto the next level. If I completed the level goal, what do I care about extra points, its not like I get to buy something with the points??
There are the usual obstacles such as Frozen Tiles that require several matches adjacent to them to chip away the ice, or chains that require matches of whatever gem is trapped within. There are Mosaic type cells that require matches over them to break the cell, and each level has a different goal requiring a specified number of points earned, or specific numbers of specific gems to be collected.
Large Matches will give you a power-up on the board, that must be included in a match with the same colored gem as the Power-up. The Horizontal Bomb destroys tiles in a horizontal line, the Cross Bomb destroys tiles in a row and column, the Tornado mixes up or shuffles all gems, and the Fire Rain power-up sends down a rain of firebombs to destroy several random tiles, and the regular Bomb destroys a 9 tile radius. Each level gives you 3 power-ups at a time.
The tiles are very large, so there shouldn't be an issue with being able to see the board well enough, for those who have difficulty seeing small items, and they are of different colors and shapes, so it's easy to tell them apart from one another. The first 20 levels are fairly easy, but each level becomes increasingly more difficult after that. I like the fact that several large matches are obtainable, which make a Match 3 game more fun in my opinion. When games never seem to give you the opportunity to make matches of more than 3 tiles at a time, it just gets boring after a while. If this game didn't take so long between levels (it's my need for speed I suppose) I would have given Athen's Treasure 5 stars, enjoy!

This is a cute Match 3 game, that would be great for kids to play, but I was bored after about 10 minutes of the demo. This is a Limited Moves type match 3 game, requiring you to make a specific number of matches of each particular cupcake that the customers order. The customers arrive at the top of the match 3 board or counter, and the match 3 board is located underneath, which means that all of the boards will be small enough to fit, which will certainly be a problem for those who have impared sight or cannot see small items (happens to us all eventually lol!)
Another feature I hate is that after you have fulfilled all of the customers orders, you have to wait until all the bonuses do their bonus thing, which seems to take forever, then you have to wait for the score to tally, then you have to wait until the level map appears, then you have to wait until the Monty the raccoon and Elly the girl discuss the next cupcake recipe, eventually you get around to playing the next level...eventually!
If you make large matches, you will receive bonus cupcakes on the board such as:
-Match 4=Line Bombs either vertical or horizontal depending on which way the match 4 was made.
-Match 5=Rainbow Cupcake that removes all of the same cupcakes depending on which cupcake you choose to match with it.
-T Shape Match=Circle Bomb that destroys cupcakes in a circle around the cupcake bomb.
-L Shape Match=Diagonal Bomb which blows up two intersecting lines of cupcakes.
-4 Across 3 Down Matches=Magnet which collects cupcakes of the same color and turns them into a Bomb.
Eventually you will earn Power-ups that can be used anytime such as:
-Cross=This activates a Cross Bomb wherever you place it. -Magnet Booster=Places magnets on the board. -Spatula=Removes a single cupcake of your choice.
As I said earlier, I think this would be an ideal Match 3 game for kids because it's a very easy Match 3 game. Because it's so easy, I'm not sure adults will enjoy it as well, or at least not for very long.

I loved everything about this game, it has an excellent story line, awesome graphics, likable and lifelike characters, however, I prefer the Collector's Edition version which has Morphing Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces to collect and assemble Screensavers. The Collector's Edition version also has collectible Coins that allow you to buy items such as billiards and arcades. Here's a recap of my review to help you decide which version if either is right for you:
Plagued with heliacus nightmares stemming from her childhood; Dana's psychiatrist suggests she revisits the past; where it all went horribly wrong. Dana and her brother Rick were just innocent kids when they entered the abandoned house on Maple Street, but their innocence shattered like a fragile piece of glass that fateful day. Today, Dana has found the strength to return to the house where the entire Wantley family was murdered. Whatever it was that she seen all those years ago must still be in there, and like a thistle in her side, her nightmare's thorns have only begun to dig in. Now Dana's only hope of salvation, lies within her baby brother Rick, but will he suffer the same consequences when he returns to 23 Maple Street?
I was a fan of this new series when Lakeview Lane was released last year, and (censored...H-e double L's) Thistle has exceeded my expectations! The graphics are some of the best I've seen in a long time, and although the story isn't exactly new per se, it does leave room for plot thickening and a few twists and turns. I love games that are based upon modern day events, and even though I'm not a fan of "ghost catching" devices, I'm willing to overlook the gimmicky device, because a cell phone is exactly what you'd expect someone to be using in current times. The Collector's Edition version has a whopping 72 Morphing Puzzle pieces (the beta only had 44!?) that allows you to assemble Jigsaw Puzzles and save as Screensavers. The CE also has collectible Coins located throughout the game, that can be used to purchase Video Arcade and Billiards to decorate your virtual mancave garage, which also has a section to store your collectibles.
The Hidden Object Scenes are at times more like a mini game, but for the most part, they are variations of Interactive List finds. There are also Keywords in Sentences, Multiple Symbol finds and of course, the ghostbusting app HOP's that require you to find specific items using your cell phone, which I might add, wasn't a bad feature, quite the opposite, it's not a dreaded repetitious game like most gimmicky tools.
The Mini Games are in abundance, and many are available in a Casual or Hard difficulty mode, some of which are unique, and I enjoyed almost all of them. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1-Create a path between the stages of the moon in the correct numbered order.
2-Use the phone to scan the room and search for the items listed.
3-Interact with the scene by finding and replacing items that are relevant to the story.
4-Find matching pairs under tiles by selecting two tiles to see their images. The circle will turn 90 degrees with each match found.
5-Select the correct key sections to to replicate the locks mechanism.
6-Assemble the picture by finding and rotating picture fragments.
7-Shoot down the boxes being thrown at you, shoot when the target turns green, using brief moments to fire at the unguarded ghost to defeat him. (oh yeah, I'm a sharp shooter)
8-Move the tokens to the correct shaped slots by moving to highlighted spots without intersecting paths within a specified amount of moves.
9-Move fuses to connect the wires by selecting switches to chose colors and directional arrows to move them.
10-Swap tiles to restore the picture, select switches to toggle between halves.
11-Select correct code numbers and scroll through cylinders to replicate the symbol shown.
12-Arrange the spheres according to the clue shown, selecting a central circle to rotate the spheres surrounding it.
13-Guide the large vertical bar to the bottom of the safe, by rotating the dial to move the bar in either direction, and selecting rows to rotate.
14-Select and drag knobs to change the positions, and size of each character.
15-Swap books to restore the image, then change the tokens to reflect the images on the books.
16-Restore the faces by swapping parts from the same section of each mask using directional arrows.
17-Extinguish the fire by selecting highlighted sections next to each extinguishers, starting from the fire's origins.

When Big Ben's cursed chimes play, London's sky will burn, the waters of the Thames river will rise and boil, the moon will eclipse to bring forth the Headless Clockmaker to herald the apocalypse of Death! The Headless Clockmaker will spare no one, his fury is fueled by revenge. His vengence is an unquenchable thirst, a thirst for blood from those responsible for his families demise. How can you stop a force as powerful as a dead man's sorrow?
Welcome to London Detective, what a case! You're a Detective, one of London's finest, so you won't be needing a puppet on a pillow, a scarecrow kid with glowing eyeballs, a mysteriuos device that checks the room for glowing orbs, or even a supernatural pair of glasses that let you see past events. Nope, you get to use a case file journal, and good ole' investigative reasonings and deductions! Hmf, imagine that! You don't even have to trace an imaginary symbol without going outside of the line, to draw a conclusion, hmf, imagine that too!
Oh, this game is looking better and better to me, 4 Friends has included Morphing Objects and collectible Dominoes in every scene, and sometimes more than one in this Collector's Edition! There is a pull out tab on the left of the screen that tells you how many of each remain, AND they unlock special bonuses and games. Move over E, I've got a new best Friend 4ever, and they don't think it's too much work to offer Morphing Objects in every scene vs. only within a handful of HOP's, and collecting and playing dominoes is way cooler than finding the same old sign over and over in every single game.
The Hidden Object Scenes are usually multi-layered, creative and less boring than most, although an alternative would be nice. There are Interactive List finds, Multiples of the same object or Multiples of similar objects such as food items or circus related items. There are several smaller Zoom Zone HOP's and some scenes have a small puzzle to solve. Each time you make a "deduction" you will find items within a black and white scene, to piece together the circumstances leading up to the current deduction as a chain of events.
The Mini Games are well done with clear instructions to help you solve the puzzles. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Find and rotate torn picture fragments to assemble the photo.
2) Move the latch to the round hole by choosing various numbers on the padlock, to move the latch that many moves as directed by the arrows.
3) Walk through the maze using the diagram to check your position and possible paths.
4) Drag a chain of 3 or more identical symbols to collect enough of each color to fill up your tubes. Avoid collecting your opponents colored symbols which will empty your tubes. The first to fill all 3 tubes, will take a punch, 3 punches win the fight.
5) Swap valves so each one matches the hole shape by following the twisted pipes.
6) Follow the twisted lines and rotate the outer ring to align the figures, and click to slide them into the outlined shape.
7) Arrange the pins according to the clue, note that the cards position is upside down.

I don't know about you folks, but the reason I play Solitaire games is for relaxation. When I get stressed out or just want to unwind, my "go to" game is Solitaire. There are enough timed games out there nowadays, Match 3, Time Management, and sometimes even HOPA games have a timed feature. If you haven't guessed where I'm going with this yet, this is a Timed Higher/Lower Solitaire game! In order to earn all 3 Stars, you have to play each level as fast as possible. There are 3 Stars located at the top, and one by one, the stars will begin to disappear, one chunk at a time.
I was able to make it to level 30 before having to replay a level, and was able to make it to level 38 before the one hour demo ended, which tells you how easy this game is, and I was able to earn all 3 stars on all 38 levels. The goal is to remove ALL cards from the field, if you run out of deck cards and cards still remain on the board, you will have to replay the level until you are able to remove all of the cards.
The Undo feature seems to be limitless, but I only used the undo feature a couple of times, so I could be wrong. There are eventually 3 Power-up's at your disposal, that need to recharge before they can be used again. The Joker can be used as any card, the Bomb will remove 3 cards on the fiekd, and the third power-up is a Shuffle feature that puts cards back into the deck and redistributes them. Almost every level has a Joker hidden in the deck, but you cannot stockpile them, they have to be removed by playing it as a wildcard.
When determining how many stars to give a game in my reviews, I always go by the same criteria, no matter what type of game it is, If I loved the game so much that I'd be willing to purchase it at facevalue, I'll give it 5 stars. If I really liked the game, but I'm only willing to buy the game during a really good sale, I'll give that game a 4 star review rating. If I enjoyed playing a game, but I'm only willing to use a game credit or PCC, I'll give that game a 3 star rating in my review. If I didn't like the game but enjoyed some of the features it offers, I will give the game a 2 star review rating. If I hated playing a game, if I can't make myself play the entire demo, and none of the features appeal to me whatsoever, I will give that game a 1 star review.
I gave Rainforest Solitaire 3 stars because I would be willing to use a credit or PCC to buy the game. It has features I really liked, and some I didn't. I like that this is a Higher/Lower type solitaire, I like the fact that you don't have to remove special gold cards to win, leaving regular cards on the field, I like how quickly the next level becomes available, with fast pop up windows to move forward, I like that the deck shows you how many cards remain, I like a limitless Undo feature, I like that the power-ups aren't one and done cards that they simply recharge and I even like the card graphics. I don't however, like a Solitaire game that is timed and stressful, I don't like that the cards don't shake if you miss a playable card, or alert you somehow, because you have to play so quickly it's easy to miss a card, Obviously my pros outweigh the cons, but still....a timed solitaire game is not a stress relieving kind of game, enjoy!
