Completed Demo, Hard Mode (approximately one hour)
Mahjong is my least favorite genre of games offered at Big Fish because I usually become overwhelmed with boredom after just a couple of levels. My expectations for this Mahjong game wasn't any different, I pretty much assumed I'd hate it, but I didn't, it was actually relaxing and kind of Zen ☯ The Tiles have colorful images of crabs, lobsters, fish and seashells, fruits and veggies, fall-colored leaves, flowers, potted plants, watering cans, and shovels. Each Mahjong level has interesting tile layouts that slowly progress in difficulty, as well as Clutter type Hidden Object Scenes to break up the monotony.
You can play in an Easy Difficulty Mode with a faster Hint recharge feature, Available Tiles are Highlighted, and the Pictured Items don't Morph in the Hidden Object Scenes. In the Hard Difficulty Mode, available Tiles aren't Highlighted, Hints are slow to recharge, and the Pictured Items Morph during the Hidden Object Scenes. There are 70 Mahjong Levels and 14 Hidden Object Scenes. It would be nice if they offered a few different Tile options such as Traditional Mahjong images, maybe even a Walker Family & Friends theme.
You will earn 3 Stars if you solve the level without using the Hint or Shuffle Features, and you can easily replay the levels from the Pop-up Score Window that appears after completing the level. (I liked that the pop-up window and earned stars appear quickly to keep the game flowing) There's No Timer so it's a very chill kind of game. I'd love an option to play in a Timed Mode for days when I want a little more challenge.
After a few levels of Mahjong, you will play a Clutter-type of Hidden Object Scene. Pictures of the Objects to find are inside columns located on the left and right of the actual HO scene. Depending on the difficulty mode you choose, the Pictured Objects may Morph and you are tasked with finding the correct objects that are located within a pile of Clutter, which should please Walker Family Shopping Clutter fans as well. I Ioved this concept, but the HO scenes were just too easy, the clutter piles should have had a ton of clutter, not just a handful of clutter, to make it a little more challenging.
Kudos to Jet Dogs, I'm not a Mahjong fan but this one seems way more interesting than most and should please true Mahjong fans! ㊝

I loved the challenge of finding 4 sections for each item within the allotted time frame (had to replay that one several times!) but the other Clutter types seemed far too easy for my personal preference. I think this would be a great game if you're simply playing for relaxation tho. I would like to add that this developer seems to genuinely care about their products and those that play their games. They reached out to me on the pond forum when I had issues on one of their recent time management games, which is really impressive, and very appreciative.
They added an Easy Difficulty Mode which has no timer, or you can play in a Timed Mode which gives you extra points for completing the level, +10 points for every second remaining on the timer, and +500 points for every unused Hint feature. There are 140 Clutter-type levels that can be replayed if you want to earn a better score. After playing 7 Clutter levels, you can play a Puzzle variation such as Square Tile Swaps or Sliders (20 Total Puzzles)
The Clutter Styles vary from level to level. Some may require finding Identical Matching Pairs, Triple Matches, Related Items (such as Flower-related objects, Dessert-related objects, Drinks-related objects) Related Pairs, or Transparent Object levels. There was one level that gave me a struggle, finding 4 sections of each object, within the allotted time. Who knew it would be so hard to find all 4 sections in a giant junkpile lol!
Each scene has a gazillion Sun Emblems scattered among the junk, which I believe recharges the hint meter, but I'm not certain because the only game features explanations given are the type of Clutter and the point system. I only played the demo portion but I didn't use the hint feature. Like I said earlier, other than the 4 fragment levels, the other Clutter types are easily mastered on the first attempt, so there probably won't be a huge demand of the Hint feature.

✔200 Solitaire puzzles – collect chains of cards ✘200 Solitaire puzzles with the same layouts as before ✔Fun levels from the Red Riding Hood story ✘Fun levels that aren't fun & have nothing to do with the Red Riding Hood story. ✔Use jokers to clear the board faster ✘Use jokers that cost a whopping 5000 points (clearing the board faster=end the game sooner ✔✔✔) ✔Earn coins and 15 colorful trophies ✘Earn coins to buy 5000 pt. jokers to end the game faster, yes! ✔ ✔Original themed decks and 12 card back styles ✘I counted 9 card backs that had nothing to do with Red Riding Hood & 3 font styles (yes, 9+3=12✔)
It's always the same, nothing ever changes. They put very little effort into making these games because all they have to change is the title and the background, sometimes they don't even change the title, they just add a 2 or 3 on the end.
◭They only offer one type of Solitaire game, the Golf type where you play 10 levels with scoring similar to bowling. (in all fairness they also occasionally offer Match 2 cards, Mahjong style solitaire games too, but you still only get to remove the gold cards to win) ◭They only offer the feature of removing the Gold Cards to win and end the level, even if there are a ton of remaining cards on the board. Not being able to remove all of the cards on the board drives me absolutely bonkers! Why can't this dev simply tweak this feature to allow for the OPTION of continuing to play after removing all of the gold cards for points? I'd rather spend my points on that then the lame mulligan, joker or shuffle shop items! ◭They never add new features, they never change anything. The music is the same and so repetitive it becomes boring and mind-numbingly maddening! The shop will always have 3 available items, forget about ever getting a power-up card or something interesting because that's never gonna happen.
This is a Higher/Lower Solitaire game with 20 Locations and 10 Levels per location. You can choose from 9 Themed Card graphics and 3 Face Font styles. You are forced to start in the Newbie mode until the tutorial shows you all the features or you click to disable the tutorial. Newbie Mode allows you to replay any of the 10 levels in a deck as often as you'd like, and the Professional mode only allows you to replay the entire 10 level pack. In the case of a perfect score, the points of the current level will be added to the points of the next level similar to bowling scores.
The only Shop bonuses offered are Jokers, a Shuffle feature and an Undo feature for an astronomical price point, however, they are quite generous because they start you out with 3 Jokers, a single Shuffle and a single Undo (yes, I'm being sarcastic) Cards that have a Flower on the top right are special Bonus Cards that usually give you +499 Coins, (because giving you +500 points would just be ridiculous) occasionally, you are awarded a Mulligan's (undo) a Joker (wildcards) or a Shuffle bonus (shuffles the cards and re-deals new ones) The goal of each level is always the same... Remove all Gold Cards from the board which will give you the maximum amount of points, even if other cards remain on the board.

I'm not crazy about this old-fashioned HOG series but when I opened up the first investigation and saw a large ominous-looking Manor, I got a little excited. I thought the investigation would have me searching each room in the creepy manor filled with things that go bump in the night, but that just wasn't the case. Instead, they chose odd locations that I could sware were the same scenes from the other Secret Investigations games. They had a golden opportunity to pique my interest, but the scene locations were boring and 30-40 scenes into the demo I completely lost interest.
There are 10 Investigations available, Lost Inheritance, Unknown Masterpiece, The Tailor's Case, True Detective, Love Sick, Unexpected Present, Mysterious Bankrupt, Final Trick, Iron Health, and Noble Motive, and each investigation takes place over 100 different scene locations. The Investigation isn't really an investigation, it's a story progression in the form of Texted Dialog boxes by the character doing the so-called investigation, before the start of each HO level and usually very brief. (there is a skip dialog tab) There are 18 Trophy Achievements to earn, mostly for finding different increments of objects or using the various Hint's available in specific increments.
The options are still pretty basic, and once again, there are no Difficulty Mode options available, it's a Timed Game you play for points and try to obtain all 3 Stars. You are given ample time to find the Pictured Items in the beginning because there are only a handful of items to find in about two and a half minutes, but after the "breaking in period" you soon realize time is not on your side as you're left scrambling to find several items at a break-neck speed. There is a Star Meter on the top-right side that shows 3 Gold Stars that slowly turn silver (fades vertically, for example, the left side of the star will be gold, the right side silver at the halfway mark) Even if the star has just a tip of gold remaining you will earn that star in its entirety. I would just keep an eye on the third star and when I knew I wasn't going to finish the level before losing a star, I would click the exit tab and restart the level. Some of the items are different each time you replay a level, but because you just played the level, most of the objects are easily spotted the second visit.
Each scene has one item that is considered an Inventory Item and will automatically be placed in a box to the right of the Inventory box. Once found, you have to drag the inventory item to its logical counterpart, within the scene itself, to complete the task, such as finding a palette to paint a tribal shield. The scene locations have decent graphics, but the items themselves aren't proportionate, and often times aren't the same color, or even in the same position as pictured.
You begin the game with 5 of each available Hint Booster, once those run out, you have to wait for the Booster to recharge after each use. The first Hint Booster Highlights one Random item from the list. The second Booster Removes 3 Random items from the list. The third Booster Freezes the Timer. The fourth Booster illuminates the entire scene during the dark scenes that would normally only have a small flashlight beam to search with.
Looking on the bright side, if you enjoy this type of Timed Hidden Object Game, it has a great replay value because it has a thousand different scene locations, and each time you replay a scene the items to find are different.

Completed Game approximately 4.5 hours (including all mini-games & CE bonus chapter)
Aaron's cousin Kevin was acquitted for the murder of classmate Elizabeth Fox in the fall of 1969. Twenty years later, the residents of Pineville are painfully reminded of her brutal murder when movie crews flood the rural community to film a documentary of Elizabeth's murder, from Kevin's perspective. Emotions are flying high because most people still believe cousin Kevin is a guilty man, but just how far is this angry mob willing to go to see Kevin behind the bars they think he deserves?
There are 17 Hidden Object Scenes +4 within the CE Bonus Chapter. I actually found some of them to be somewhat creative, or had some items that were cleverly blended into the scenery, such as a Missing Vowels Scene. One I really liked was a Progressive-Interactive Silhouetted-Shape HOP inside of a grocery store which also had 3 small puzzles to solve. There are also Keywords In Sentence Finds, Spot the Differences, Listed Items, Multiple Object Lists, and Interactive Finds. In this Collector's Edition version, 14 of the HOS have a Morphing Object. You can replay the HO's in the CE extra's section to pick up any Morphs you may have missed.
There are 25 Mini-Games +4 within the CE Bonus Chapter, not including the HO puzzles. I found most of them to be just as boring as the storyline. Some of the puzzles could have been really fun if they made them a bit more challenging or at least more lengthy. (such as aligning upper & lower teeth but there were only 4 teeth) Here are a few games that were slightly less boring.
1-Rotate discs to align& place several rods of various shapes. 2-Recreate letters by clicking on buttons. 3-Align dominoes to match the dots. 4-Labyrinth maze to navigate through a cornfield. 5- Multi-layered puzzle bouncing signals from satellite to satellite when they are facing each other.
The Collector's Edition Bonus Chapter takes place shortly after the case wraps up when The Fletcher's attend a celebration party. Mary arrived early to help with the preparations, but Aaron quickly discovers that Mary has been abducted...Party's Over! This is an average-length bonus chapter that takes place over 8 scene locations, with 4 Mini-Games and 4 Hidden Object Scenes. There are 8 Clapboards Collectibles remaining as well as 4 Hidden Object Scene Morphing Objects.
This Collector's Edition version has 8 Wallpapers (who cares about a picture of a hand inserting a VHS tape into a VHS player? Why do they have to ruin the picture by including a character image?) 8 Concept Art Pictures (again, who cares about 8 pictures of the same characters standing in the middle of the page?) 8 Music Soundtracks, 6 Movie Video Cutscenes, 14 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 18 Replayable Mini-Games, 20 Achievements, an Arcade Game (play a version of space invaders after completing the Souvenir Room) Souvenir Room with 12 Souvenirs (return to scenes from the game to search for 1 slightly interactive item per scene, after completing the CE Bonus Chapter) 38 not-so-hidden Clapboards, 14 Hidden Object Scene Morphing Objects (you can replay the HOS in the CE extras to pick up missing Morphs) 5 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter, and a Built-in Strategy Guide.

Back in the day, Time Management games were a rare treat here on Big Fish Games. Recently, Felix finally realized that there are a ton of Time Management fans and we have been treated to some top-notched, 5-star TM games. Because of this, we TM fans don't have to settle, we don't have to be content with subpar, run-of-the-mill, boring games, such as Argonauts Agency! We can be picky, we should be picky IF we want the top-notched, amazing TM games to keep flowing our way.
This game isn't visually appealing because everything is a golden hue. Constantly having to row my raft back and forth to gather resources on several different islands just isn't fun, it's boring, and it's exactly the same scenario as the last game, and the game before that, and the game before that, I'm confident it will be the same task in the fifth installment as well.
You can play in an Untimed, Normal or Hard difficulty mode and it allows you to switch back and forth easily before the start of each level with an icon located above the levels. I do like this feature because sometimes it's helpful to play the first go-round in an untimed mode to figure out what the requirements are, such as what materials are needed for each task (bridges, boulders, etc) and then play the level again in a normal or hard mode, especially when a TM game requires a lot of strategies. Once you have collected 5 Stars, you get to open a Treasure Chest located on the bottom left of the Map screen. That gives you 3 small chests to choose from and you can earn extra resources and bonuses.
Bonuses have to be won by spinning a Casino Slot Machine with Crystals as the currency. You will earn 10 Crystals every 5 minutes you play (why not leave the game running overnight?) The bonuses are % based and become more worthy the higher the percentage:
⛏️Sandals~speeds up the characters. ⛏️Axe~cut down trees faster. ⛏️Shovel~fill holes faster. ⛏️Sword~monster battle time reduced. ⛏️Hammer~speeds up construction. ⛏️Pick~speeds stone breaking time.
There's really nothing different here than any other TM game. Build Farms for food, Sawmills for wood, Gold Mines, Quarries for stone and Markets for trading food for specific materials such as Stone or Gold. There are the usual Berry Bushes for a renewable food source, as well as the usual path blockers of conveniently cut & stacked wood, boulders, puddles, holes, bread loaves that somehow gets left strategically on a blocked path just when you need it the most, not to mention random caches of gold coins. (did 1 person lose all that gold or are there several absent-minded millionaires?)
The only features offered in the Collector's Edition version, are 10 pages of Concept Art pictures and 5 Music Soundtracks, 31 Achievements a few extra levels in the Additional Campaign section, and for the first time, a Strategy Guide was offered. So I suppose this would be the better choice of versions?

Knock, knock. Who's there? It's me, Alice Gray, don't you recognize me? Welcome to the future, and congratulations Anna, you're a momma! Okay, so she's 15 and she's here to warn you that you're all going to die. No biggie, just spend the day with your new daughter bouncing all over town, oh, and don't forget Grandpa's skull!
Guest From The Future has a superb storyline that keeps you playing because you want to learn more about the story. Unfortunately, learning more about the story requires muddling through cookie-cutter cliche tasks to the point of being ridiculous. How many emblems can one place before it becomes nothing more than a chore? How many animals do I have to feed before I can take an important inventory item they have been guarding that shouldn't be there in the first place? This developer could climb back to the top slot if they would just think outside the box, they have amazing writers, amazing graphic artists, but they completely fail when it comes to getting from point A to point B!
There are 10 Hidden Object Scenes +5 in the CE Bonus Chapter, and 8 smaller Zoom Zone HOP's. They are mostly Listed Item Finds, but there are also Multiples of Objects Finds, Silhouetted Shape Finds, Keywords in Sentence Finds and Progression Finds. Some items are difficult to see because they are tucked away in dark corners.
There are 15 Mini-Games + 12 in the CE Bonus Chapter (some of those mini-games are multi-layered puzzles) Here are some of my personal favorites:
1-Use up & down arrows to reshape the lockpick. 2-Select color-coded path buttons to move roses into correct slots. 3-Match inner icons with outer icons along paths. 4-Rotate 2 multi-colored star crystals so the gems between them are the same color.
In the Collector's Edition Bonus Chapter, Alice and Richard unite to save Anna Gray from her kidnappers in the medium-length chapter. There are 12 Mini-Games (some of which are multi-layered) and 5 Hidden Object Scenes. You will find the remaining 8 Morphing Objects, 3 Gray family Character Portraits, and 12 Photo Fragments to complete the final Screensaver.
This Collector's Edition version has 8 Wallpapers, 8 Concept Art Pictures, 3 Screensavers, 5 Music Soundtracks, 22 Achievements, Archives with Replayable 13 Hidden Object Scenes and 13 Mini-Games, 14 Collectible Gray Family Portraits, 26 Morphing Objects, 37 Photo Scraps to unlock 3 Screensavers, 5 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a Built-in Strategy Guide.

Played in both Difficult & Casual Modes Played Limited Moves Mode only
Holy water! Cursed House 7 just raised the strategy bar with a few new hair-raising features that will surely have your head spinning. The Match 3 games by this developer are some of the most challenging games available, nun the less, they always bend over backward to add exciting twists for their diehard fans. Throw up you're hands Cursed fans and rejoice, it's time to banish the evil spirits that dwell within this wretched CURSED HOUSE!
The High Difficulty mode has returned. In this mode, some parts will be impassible or will take too long to complete if you do things in the wrong order, and there are no pop-up hints available. In Casual mode, you won't require as many power-ups to complete levels and there are no impassible levels. Both modes can be played in a Timed Mode, a Limited Moves Mode (which I recommend) or a Relaxed untimed Mode and you can switch between modes to help you beat difficult levels.
You have to match Stars to receive a Power-up, a Match 4 Stars will give you Dynamite and a Match 5 Stars will give you a Morphing Power-up (just click when it's on the desired power-up) The Morphing Power-up choices include a Dynamite Barrel, Lightning which removes all of one kind of tile, or a Rocket which targets objects from most important to least important depending on what obstacles remain. The chosen morph can be canceled within 10 seconds by right-clicking. Power-ups are usually a critical component because most coins are blocked by obstacles that require a power-up to destroy them, and most often by a specific power-up.
Collecting Coins is always the goal and there are several different types of Coins that can be collected with an adjacent match but usually blocked by an obstacle that requires a specific power-up:
$~Gold Coins: adjacent match $~Dust Coins: adjacent match twice $~Frozen Coins: direct Fire to melt (also works on Snow) $~Trunk Coins: adjacent match (collect all to open Trunks. $~Locked Coins: collect the key coin. $~Coin Molds: move gold drops to fill the molds. $~Half Coins: clear a path between halves until they adjoin. $~Bug Coins: destroy the bugs to unlock the coin.
There are Obstacles that require using strategies to overcome. Lots and lots of Obstacles, some old, some new, but always challenging:
☆~Magnets: will magnetize all rocket power-ups and lightning ☆~Bombs: requires adjacent match, Lightning or Cannons to detonate. ☆~Darkness: requires a direct ray of light (light is reflected by mirrors) ☆~Trunks: collect all Trunk Coins then make adjacent match near Trunk to open. ☆~Crates: adjacent match or power-up. ☆~Shielded Crates: adjacent match near unshielded sides or power-up. ☆~Cannon: adjacent match next to the wick. ☆~Bugs: use power-ups or cannons to destroy them. ☆~Vials: move liquid drops to fill vials that block areas. ☆~Papyrus: make matches in the sequence shown on the papyrus. ☆~Ground Tiles: make an adjacent match. ☆~Lava Stones: use power-ups or cannon to destroy them. ☆~Fog: adjacent match or cannons. ☆~Ice: make a match with the tile inside the Ice. ☆~Snow: adjacent match or fire ☆~Chains: adjacent match or cannons. ☆~Shields: remove the required number of specified tiles shown inside the bubble. ☆~Red & Green Cells: adjacent matches or power-ups. ☆~Red & Green Hot Stones: remove all Red & Green Cells. ☆~Locks: create a path for the Key towards the Lock. ☆~Electricity Emitters: create a continuous path of Blue tiles from Emitter to Bulb. (single adjacent electricity tiles can be moved into place)
After playing a few Match 3 levels you can play a Mini-Game that does include a Skip feature. My personal favorites are the Spot The Differences scenes which I think they do an incredible job of making the obvious not-so-obvious.

Today the PC version was finally released for "The Chronicles of King Arthur Episode 2" while Mac users were treated to the same game with a different story about Robin Hood. I went out on a limb to give King Arthur 4 stars because they had added a Timed Mode and a few other game mechanic upgrades. I mistakenly thought the devs were listening to our suggestions, but obviously, they don't care enough to bother changing the level layouts.
These Match 3 games may have an interesting story, amazing graphics, challenging obstacles, smooth Match 3 mechanics, interesting bonus power-up tools, clever builder aspects required to progress, and obtainable goals, but who cares about all that if it's the SAME game as the previous 6 releases? If you have only played one or possibly two games by this developer this will be a 5-Star game and certainly worthy of a purchase, but for those of us who have purchased or played several e-FunSoft Match 3 games, it's a huge NO THANK YOU!
This is a swap type, Match 3 game that requires you swap two adjacent elements to create a group of at least three tiles. You can opt to play in a Relaxed, untimed mode and there is a High Scores Leaderboard. The goal of each level is to make matches over all of the Brown filled-in Cells as well as matching a specified number of specified Tiles that are shown at the top of the screen. Some levels also require you to collect Magic Spheres by dropping them to the bottom of the board. Some tiles Morph inside of a Bubble which allows you to pop the bubble when the jewel inside morphs to the desired jewel. I'm not sure why the morphing bubble tiles appear but I would suspect it's a reward for making a large match?
You don't earn Power-ups for making Large Matches, however, every match you make fills the Energy Orb, the larger the matches are, the faster it will charge. The good thing about this feature is that any of the power-ups can be used and refilled on any level, unlike some games where you have to wait until a level comes along that has a particular bonus tile to refill that power-up. The Ave removes a single tile or chain, the Smoke Bomb will absorb a 3 x 3 group of tiles or chains, the Shield collects all tiles of the same kind, the Lightning clears an entire Horizontal Line including chained tiles, the Bow clears an entire Vertical line including chains, and Explosives clear a large group of tiles and any chains on them.
There are the normal obstructions as found in most Match 3 games of Chained tiles, Double Chained tiles, Spiders that spin webs to lock tiles if you don't make matches under them quickly enough, but nothing unusual or different than most Match 3 games, and certainly nothing different than other Match 3 games by this developer. You can purchase upgrades to build Robin's posse of merry men, after gathering enough resources and you must purchase all upgrades to complete the chapter and open up the next Chapter's levels.
This is a good Match 3 game, but it feels like they are trying to take advantage of the consumer who may not realize that nothing has changed except for the story. Unfortunately, I have purchased a couple of M3 games by this developer only to discover that the level layouts were the same as all of their previous games. Until they do, I'll call them out on it!

I was thoroughly enjoying this Higher/Lower Solitaire game, which has a "builder" aspect, but as I progressed and became familiar with the game mechanics I ran into a couple of features that spoiled my fun. Once you earn 3 Stars, you can't replay the level, and unfortunately, you may still have cards remaining on the board. (to be clear, you CAN replay the levels IF you haven't earned 3 stars) Towards the end of the Demo, the cards to remove from the board are numerous, but the deck cards are scant, often receiving only 20 deck cards. I was rifling through 5-6 deck cards out of 20 at a stretch that couldn't be used and it simply wasn't any fun, especially if I had cards remaining yet earned 3 stars which meant I couldn't replay the level.
After earning resources during the Solitaire level, you use those resources to build various buildings such as Sawmills, Stone Mills, Crystal Mills, Magic Elixirs, Wells, Towers, etc. until you complete the level goals. I liked this aspect, although it would have been more fun to be able to place those buildings where I wanted and perhaps decorate the landscape as well. I soon realized that I had enough resources to buy all or nearly all of the buildings at the beginning of the next group, or chapter before actually playing the first solitaire level. You can also upgrade the buildings which get you to the level goals even faster. You also have to click on the resources the buildings produce because it isn't collected automatically. Constructing or upgrading some buildings will reward you with Joker Wildcards (number specific)
Most of the Levels have a Key Card that will Unlock the Locked Cards once it's uncovered. There is also a "Test Your Luck" Bad Luck or Good Luck Card that will grant you vital Resources or remove them. This is a worthless feature, in my opinion, because If I'm not given a choice to test my luck, I'm being forced to test my luck, thus, it's not an option to test my luck. Most levels also give you a Number Specific Wildcard, and there is an Undo feature that gives you 1 free undo per level, others can be purchased if you have the appropriate resources.
The two Key Players of the storyline, The Queens daughter and the building Forman, act as Boosters. One removes a random Face-down card, the other a random face-up card. They are available in limited use, but extras are earned every time you earn 3 Stars.
Unfortunately, I won't be purchasing this game. I can overlook the ease of being able to purchase the required buildings, I can also overlook the fact that there aren't many deck cards dished out. but the one feature I insist on having in a Solitaire game, is that I can replay the levels until I remove all of the cards, so my apologies to the developers for my stubbornness in that department.
