Completed CE Game approximately 5.5 hours
(including CE Bonus Chapter & all mini-games)
His Eminence has requested Agent Y̲o̲u̲ once again to investigate the mysterious deaths of several adolescent girls inflicted with bizarre, glowing scars. (tattoos are ancient, I'm sure they knew the difference between a scar and a tattoo) Being the astute Agent Y̲o̲u̲ that You are, You quickly discover that the "scars that aren't really scars" are actually maps to the ancient Eternal Water source capable of healing anything and anyone. There's just one problem...they are all counterfeit! Someone is trying to throw someone off the trail which means Agent Y̲o̲u̲ has two evil-doers to contend with!
There are 10 Hidden Object Scenes +7 in the CE Bonus Chapter and 16 smaller Zoom Zone HOP's that are variations of Multiple Object Finds. Most of the main HOP's are Interactive List Finds but there are also Keywords in Sentence Finds, Silhouetted Shape Finds, Multiples of an Object Finds and Replacing Items Logically into the Scene. The scenes are lacking in both color and imagination, and towards the end of the game, the scenes are repeated making them even more boring than I thought possible.
There are 35 Mini-Games +17 in the CE Bonus Chapter. I found most of the puzzles boring because they are the same puzzles offered in all Amax games. Below are descriptions of some of my favorite puzzles:
☠ Swap tiles to their matching slots using clock hands
☠ Swap triangle-shaped puzzle pieces to complete the puzzle image.
☠ Drag flasks to "untangle" the ropes that bind them.
☠ Arrange butterflies by aligning them with the color clue indicator in the central disk.
☠ Place numbered plates to navigate safely w/o landing on an obstacle.
☠ Find the correct combination for each dial (spin at different speeds) and drag tokens to the corresponding slots to drop them to the bottom.
The Collector's Edition Bonus Chapter is a somewhat lengthy chapter spanning 8 scene locations; and takes us back to Sauvetage City to search for Gustav Lefer who disappeared after donning a mysterious Skull Ring. There are 17 Mini-Games in this BC but only 7 Hidden Object Scenes and you will pick up the final 8 Morphing Objects and 12 Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces to complete the last 2 Jigsaw Puzzles
The Collector's Edition version has 5 Wallpapers, 8 Concept Art Pictures, 6 Screensavers, 4 Music Soundtracks, 15 Movie Video Cutscenes, 14 Achievements, 13 Replayable Mini-Games, 14 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 36 Hidden Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces, 6 Jigsaw Puzzles (each puzzle has 6 pieces to assemble which gives you game info) 26 Morphing Objects, 4 Main Chapters, +Bonus Chapter, and a Built-in Strategy Guide.

The Phantom of the Opera is wreaking havoc within the Vienna Opera House, seeking Justice and demanding the guilty atone for their sins! The lives of the troupe and the Opera House are at stake because the Phantom won't stop until the criminals confess, but who confesses and for what crime?
The first of two Gadgets is the All-Seeing-Eye which requires you to collect "evidence" in the form of a small Hidden Object Scene. As you find the Listed items, they show a brief description next to them and the detective gives a brief summary of events that took place. This gadget is used 7 times in the main game and 4 more times in the CE Bonus Chapter.
The second Gadget is a Deduction-Conclusion Notebook. Once you gather a slew of evidence and photos, you are tasked with placing them into corresponding oval slots that highlight automatically, no actual deductions necessary (What's the point of this annoying task? At least let me try to figure out where the items should be placed!) This gadget is used 7 times in the main chapter and 2 times in the CE Bonus Chapter.
There are 30 Morphing Opera Masks in the main game and 8 within the CE Bonus Chapter. There are 20 Hidden Alphabet Letters in the main Game and 7 within the CE Bonus Chapter. They have done a really good job with both features, the Opera Masks not only morph slowly but they don't morph into something that looks out of place. Once you find all Morphs and Letters, they are used to unlock additional Bonus Super Puzzles!
There are 14 Hidden Object Scenes +6 within the CE Bonus Chapter, not including the Evidence All-Seeing-Eye HO's. I have to give kudos to our 4 good Friends who were able to reinvent the wheel to bring a new type of HOP to the table! You have to grab pictures or images that have a missing section from the inventory bar and align the hole with an item in the scene. The First one simply required finding a logical shape like a missing bouquet of flowers but the second go-round was way cooler because the objects were so well blended into different fabric textures in the scene, Nice! ✔ There were also the usual Interactive List Finds, Silhouetted Shape Finds, Replace Item Finds, and several Multiples Finds that were usually offered in a repeated scene.
There are 18 Mini-Games +10 in the CE Bonus Chapter. There are several smaller puzzles to solve before using an inventory + item and within most of the HOP's such as placing torn photo fragments, rotating circles on disks, etc. Below are brief descriptions of some of the mini-games I liked:
♫-Jump Red and Blue Chips until only one remain.
♫-Use the empty slot to replicate a bird's flight on a film strip.
♫-Select the number of moves & direction to travel from point A to B.
♫-Place wine bottles of different categories for each country.
The CE Bonus Chapter story takes place shortly after solving the Phantom of the Opera case when the Detective receives an urgent message from Johann Strauss, the conductor at the Vienna Opera House. A Muse has been appearing to Johann shortly after sunset and everyone thinks he's lost a few nuts and bolts and desperately needs the detective to validate and identify the Muse and its purpose. The chapter is slightly longer than any of the main games' chapters, spanning over 8 scene locations. There are 10 Mini-Games and 6 Hidden Object Scenes and you will collect the remaining 7 Letters and 8 Morphing Opera Masks. You will use the All-Seeing Eye Gadget 4 times to collect evidence via HO scenes, and the Deduction Notebook Gadget one final time to draw your conclusion and put another Dark City notch on your belt.
This Collector's Edition version has 11 Wallpapers (psst, Friends of 4, most ppl want wallpapers of the beautiful scenery you created so can you skip the character cameos?) 19 Concept Art Pictures, 4 Screensavers, 5 Music Soundtracks, 26 Movie Video Cutscenes, 23 Achievements, 12 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 13 Replayable Mini-Games, 4 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a Built-in Strategy Guide.

I think Big Fish is so used to offering Hidden Object Games that they don't notice when they mislabel a game, sorry Home Designer Hidden Object fans, this is a Limited Moves, "Click Groups of Tiles" Match 3 game. It's not even a good Match 3 game, it'$ another one of tho$e "ϝɾҽҽ2ρʅαყ" mobile devi¢e game$ di$gui$ed a$ a de$ktop P¢/Ma¢ paid game.
This is a Group click type of Match 3 where you simply click on groups of at least 2 identical tiles to collect them, so technically it's not even a Match 3 it's a Match 2. The level goals usually consist of collecting a specified number of specified tiles within a specified number of moves, but you may also have to drop Cactus to the bottom of the board, make matches to destroy obstacles or pop all Bubble Tiles.
Clicking on Large groups will earn Bonus Power-ups, 5-6 will earn you a Drill to clear a vertical or horizontal line, 7-8 will earn you a Bomb to clear a small group of adjacent tiles, 9 will earn you a Battery to collect all of one kind of tile. Combining these power-ups will create bigger explosions to play the game for you, such as Drill+Battery=turns all tiles to drills, Drill+Bomb=1 directional blast, Bomb+Battery=big bomb.
Boosters become available as you progress to specific levels and can be used at your discretion, a Hammer to remove a single Tile, a Saw to remove an entire row of Tiles, a Scraper to remove an entire column of Tiles, and a Shuffle to reshuffle all the tiles on the board. You start with 6, but you are forced to use one during the tutorial, however, they seem to be generous by allowing you to earn extra Boosters when you open up the Star Box which rewards you with Coins, Prestige Points, and random Boosters. The Star Box requires earning a specified number of stars to open it, and when 1 is opened another Star Box appears. There is a Spin Wheel offered eventually to give you another chance to win an auto-play feature that allows you a free spin every 30 minutes.
As with the Hidden Object versions of Home Designer, you get to use the coins you earned playing the Match 2 game to decorate your first customer's Living Room (I'm assuming more clients to follow) Each decoration has 3 selections to choose from (all costing the same amount) Honestly, most of the selections are ugly and pleathery-looking, thank goodness it's not in my living room lol.

If you like Match 3 games that are actually "Click Groups of 2 or more Tiles" you're in luck! If you like Limited Moves only, Match 3 games, you're in luck! If you like boring tiles that are nothing more than colored boxes, you're in luck! If you like Match 3 games that have a ton of large match opportunities that rewards you with numerous Power-ups & Boosters to play itself, you're in luck. If you like Match 3 games that don't require skill, you're in luck!
However, IF you like Match 3 games that require using strategy and skill, IF you like to try to beat a Match 3 level without using power-ups and bonuses, or IF you like a Match 3 game that doesn't pass out bonuses like candy on Halloween night, I'm afraid you're out of luck ♧ my friends, this isn't the Match 3/Hidden Object Game for you!

Once again, Crystal Mosaic delivers a beautiful Mosaic-Griddler with unique crystal tiles. The colors are bright and vibrant and pleasing to look at and the images are easily recognizable (and labeled) The only complaint I have is that the puzzles are far too easily solved, in fact, there are a couple of images that literally only take a few seconds to complete! That isn't necessarily a bad thing, this would be the perfect entry-level game for beginners or an ideal game for relaxation.
There are 5 different levels with 20 puzzles in each level, you can earn 3 stars per replayable level when you make no mistakes (5 allowed) and don't use any of the 5 available hints. You can opt to have the cells cross-off automatically or manually, (auto-remove) and you can switch between colors easily. There is a Measuring tool that allows you to measure how many cells are in a row or column, which can be helpful in an oddly shaped puzzle. There is a Layer feature that allows you to switch from seeing all color layers to only seeing the particular color you are currently working on.
I like the option customization features, but what I love is that you can exit the game mid-puzzle and the game saves your progress. I never understood why some of the largest Mosaic series games don't have an option to save your progress forcing you to restart the level from the beginning?

I had issues with the last 2 Alicia Quatermain games not being able to see the dialog or conversation boxes, making it nearly impossible to play. I mentioned my graphic resolution specs originally on my review of the CE game as well as the issues I was having and to my surprise, the developer contacted me at the pond forums and worked very hard to tweak the graphics to work on large screens! I can't tell you how impressed I am that a developer took the time to contact me AND solve the issue, so now I finally SEE what everyone else SEES!
You can play in an Easy untimed mode, Normal or Expert mode, and if you earn all 3 stars, you can repair or restore items in Davinci's Museum. (available in both CE & SE versions. The Collector's Edition version has 6 Wallpapers, 35 Achievements to earn, a Hidden Jigsaw Rune in each scene, items to restore Divinci's Museum (when you earn 3 stars on a level) 11 Bonus Levels and a built-in Strategy Guide.

Fortunately, I have both a Mac and a PC because this game works on my Mac but when I try to play it on my large screen PC, the background or actual playing field appears to be a normal size, but all the dialog boxes, task lists, and important features that pop-up is so tiny that I have to strain to read them. This is a TM game so I have to know what requirements are needed and what does what, in a "timely" manner.

There are only 15 Hidden Object locations and I was able to complete 12 of those locations during the 60-minute demo, AND that includes revisiting the scenes at least twice, as you progress 3 times! In all fairness, each time you revisit a scene, the items to find are different (Listed Text or Silhouetted Shapes available) and there are several Pizzle Locations to unlock, Jigsaws-Pairs of Cards-Match 3 jelly bears-Food & Drinks Word Search-Flower Mahjong. The items to find are just ridiculously easy to spot, and that's without using the Magnifier.

Unlike Travel To Italy, Travel To France has an Untimed Mode as well as a Timed Mode that gives you 10 minutes to find everything, which is way more time than you'll ever need. You will earn a single star on each HO location and the next location requires 2-3 stars to unlock it so you will need to replay the previous scenes in order to earn enough stars to progress.
I found the game to be slow to respond to clicks and some objects required clicking on a specific area rather than a general area anywhere on the object. When I used the magnifier the scenes became darker and blurry and was almost useless in some areas.

Review based on Completed CE Game
approximately 5.5 hours
(including CE Bonus Chapter and all mini-games)
IF I had only played the demo portion of this game I would have given it 5 stars, but I played the entire game. The ending was a huge letdown and the dragon's voice was the worse voiceover selection choice for a dragon that I could ever have imagined! IF they had stuck to one theme, I may have given it 5 stars too, but they went from Leprechaun town to Faun town (psssst: pachyderm guys are you okay with this infringement?) then onto Merlin's Wizard school, and finally to the dragon's lair, but it wasn't until the very last scene that we actually get to see the dragon. I was "fooled" into thinking this was a game about Dragon's and Leprechauns but after the demo, I get a game about 1 evil leprechaun and a lot of talk about said dragon?????
It's a miracle I tell ya! Domini released a game with only 3 chapters instead of the usual 750 chapters! I have complained about the over-abundance of chapters that were crammed full of repeated tasks and no plot progression. This game is a vast improvement, however, they still need to work on the overabundance of cliche tasks. How many times do I need to cut vines, sweep debris with feathers, replace eyeballs, replace rings on a skeleton (trust me, he doesn't need them nor does he care about them) and how many times are you going to make me screw a screw with a coin, a different coin every time??? And one more thing, if I have to save a drowning victim, give me enough credit to immediately grab a nearby branch or dive in to save them, DON'T make me play 4 mini-games, search 3 different scenes for emblems to place and then play a Hidden Object Scenes before attempting to save someone that just pleaded with me to save them because they don't know how to swim!
There are 15 Hidden Object Scenes + 5 in the CE Bonus Chapter, a FEW of which were indeed creative although not really original. One was a Missing Letters HOP where you had to find listed items that had 2-3 missing letters, the other HOP that was different required you to choose the correct answer to a riddle and then find 1-3 items related to the answer of that riddle. The rest of the HOP's were Interactive List finds, Silhouetted Shape finds, Keywords in Sentence finds. Matching Pair finds, and Multiples of the same object finds. There is an alternate Match 3 game available as well.
There are 18 Mini-Games +8 in the CE Bonus Chapter. These are the same exact games offered in the last Domini release, not a single game was new or original. Here are a few games that I found to be more interesting:
*Move to highlighted cells to reach the torch while avoiding the red cells.
*Grab 2 tokens at a time and move them to their matching slots using directional arrows.
*Place bugs on the board so that their "domino" numbers will match.
*Find the correct sequence of musical notes shown. Notes can be located horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
The Collector's Edition version Bonus Chapter has us chasing after another greedy and misguided Leprechaun named Aaron. You will play as Cedric before he became an Elder, trying to thwart Aaron's nefarious plans to reconstruct an artifact of immense power. This Bonus Chapter is slightly longer than average with 5 Hidden Object Scenes and 8 Mini-Games. You will find the remaining 4 Morphing Fairies, 4 Leprechaun Statuettes, and 8 Celtic Crosses that will allow you to purchase the remaining Garden upgrades.
The Collector's Edition version has 20 Wallpapers, 20 Concept Art pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, 30 Movie Video Cutscenes, 32 Achievements, 18 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 18 Replayable Mini-Games, 15 Leprechaun Statuettes, 15 Morphing Fairies, 60 Celtic Crosses used to purchase 15 Garden Decorations, 3 Main Chapters, +Bonus Chapter, and a Built-in Strategy Guide.

Once again we have a story about a poisoned King and a Queen who pleads with her son to take on an entire rival by himself, to save the day and resurrect dear ole dad from the dead. I know how this dev likes their King & Queen run Kingdoms but the plot is getting slooow and boooring.
There are 12 Hidden Object Scenes +5 in the CE Bonus Chapter. There are Interactive List Finds, Keywords in Sentences Finds, Multiples of the same Object Finds, Silhouetted Shape Finds, Replace or Reverse Finds, and my favorite was finding object placements by selecting items in the scene that match swatch tokens.
There are 19 Mini-Games +10 in the CE Bonus Chapter. The games can be played in an Easy Mode or Hard mode and you can choose your difficulty preferences in the custom settings, but you can change to the mode you want individually before starting the game. I thought the games were decent but very easily solved even on the Hard mode.

fromAre there pictures of Dragons? Wizards? Magical Kingdoms? Nope, just the same old boring pictures recycled from one puzzle game to the next!

When I saw the title of today's new Mac release I said to myself, "Self, today is a day of 8floor miracles!" With a title of Jigsaw Magic Elements, surely the devs have answered my "change something, anything" prayers. Surely, with a title containing the word Magic, there would be at least one puzzle category about magic elements, or magic, right? How about Six, is there a category about magic sixes? Nope, it's the same uninteresting 1001 Jigsaw puzzle categories offered in all their jigsaws games, they just tried to fool me by labeling the categories differently, cuz that's what they do best! The Water Element tab has the same sea life/beaches/fountains pictures, The Stone Element has the same stone statues, the Fire Element is the same staged pictures of candles/fireplaces, etc. I'm sure you get the jigsaw picture, once again, the only thing that changed is the title and the puzzle box labels!
Once you finish the puzzle you get to see a brief glimpse of the picture before it disappears forever, it's so brief that if you blink you will miss it! You can't save them as screensavers, you can't even revisit them in a gallery, but that shouldn't be a big shock, because these puzzles never have any cool or interesting options or features.
Any of the puzzles can be modified with the number of pieces, the cut shape of the pieces and whether or not you want the pieces to rotate. There are 4 different backgrounds to choose from, pink, green, blue and grey, a box to store extra pieces until needed, a Sort option a Border only option, a Hint option, and an available Magnifying glass to enlarge pieces. You can also Ghost the image of the puzzle to the background or hang a picture in three different sizes for reference.
I'm sure this will be perfectly fine for a novice puzzle player, but for puzzle geeks like myself, this is an archaic, old-school type of puzzle. BF hasn't offered a single Jigsaw Puzzle game by any other developer in the last several years. If they did, people would finally see that all other jigsaw puzzle games have a ton of customizable options and they too would be demanding more!
I don't recommend this game.
