Once upon a time, humans did what humans always do, encroach upon the Kinzuls sacred lands destroying its precious resources. A battle raged, pitting Kinzul warriors against human Mages until an explosion occurred so powerful the humans were destroyed. The Kinzuls, however, were cursed to live within their armor, a mere soul of their former selves forevermore. That is until Lancer vowed to seek revenge on all humans, but he wasn't expecting a powerful Explorer graduate to foil his plans (no, that's totes the scenario, a simple explorer is more powerful than all the demigods combined???)
Gadgets/Helpers: There is a Translation Gadget that is used 6 times +3 in the CE Bonus Chapter. Each time it is used you will play a Symbol related mini-game that varies each time, but none of the puzzles are very challenging and the games themselves take forever because you have to wait for the next symbol to show up 6 different times.
Hidden Object Scenes: There are 13 Hidden Object Scenes +7 in the CE Bonus Chapter. There are a ton of Slider bar variations where you adjust the vertical & horizontal bars to align symbols or animals. There are also Keywords in Sentence Finds, Progressive-Interactive Finds, Silhouetted Shape Finds, Fragment Finds, Matching Pair Finds, Multiples of the Same Object Finds, Spot the Difference, and Listed Item Finds. There is an optional Match 3 game available.
Mini-Games: There are 21 Mini-Games + 8 in the CE Bonus Chapter, several of which had horrible or confusing directions. About half of the mini-games were a symbol-related game associated with the Translation Gadget. I wasn't crazy about any of these particular puzzles, to be honest, but here are a few of the ones a little less boring:
◪~Arrange the potion vials on the shelves correctly according to the partial clues shown. ◪~Pump the colored liquid into the correct colored bubbles by rotating pipes. ◪~Place tulip shapes into the correct slots so they all fit together. ◪~Rotate outer disk and press animals to follow tangled paths to their correct slots. ◪~Pull the barrel to shore by selecting horizontal & vertical directional arrows to avoid obstacles.
Bonus Chapter (CE version only) has us chasing after a poacher/beast tamer who is trying to raise his deceased wife with the Resurrection Artifact, let's hope she hasn't been dead too long. There are 8 Mini-Games and 7 Hidden Object Puzzles and you'll use the Translation Amulet another 3 times during this medium-length Bonus Chapter. There are 2 Morphing Medallions left according to the SG but I had collected all but one in the Main Chapters? The final 2 Character Statues will be discovered as well as the final 7 Pheonix Feathers which allows you to purchase the final Laboratory items, according to the SG and once again I have a discrepancy because I only needed 2 phoenix feathers, after the main chapters, to buy the last laboratory item which cost 4 feathers and I only needed 2 more feathers???
Collector's Edition Version Extra's: 10 Wallpapers, 10 Concept Art Pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, 23 Movie Video Cutscenes, 18 Achievements, 14 Replayable Mini-Games, 18 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 15 Collectible Arcadian Kingdom Character Statues, 15 Morphing Medallions, 64 Phoenix Feathers (used to purchase 15 Laboratory Items) a Gazillion Missing Notes, 5 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a Built-In Strategy Guide.

Fall has officially arrived when the USS Liberty pulls into the Big Fish port. I love my summer vacation at the park more, but there's just something about these cheesy, old-fashioned HOG's that has me scrambling to hit the "Buy Now" button, and I truly look forward to them.
You can choose either Casual, Challenge or Extreme modes as well as which gender of cruise director you want. The best part about this game is that it's relaxing, there's no timer so you have all the time in the world, and some of the items to find are tiny and very well blended, so it's a good thing there are no time restraints. I will say that a few of the scenes seem a bit blurrier than usual.
Each scene has Lost items that need to be found, the portal on the bottom left will show these items one at a time as silhouetted shapes and when all have been found the portal will close. Each scene also has recyclable items that need to be found such as paper bags, cans, and bottles, when all recyclable items have been found the lid will close. You earn coins as you play and the coins can be used to purchase 16 different Souvenirs.
The items to find are list finds, items in Red are hidden in or behind something, items in Blue are tasks to complete such as finding and dragging a flag to the pole. Most scenes have a couple of sparkling zoom zones as well. There are 16 Photo Shoot opportunities when you spot the Camera Icon, and the pictures will go into your Photo Album. There are 18 Trophy Achievements to earn and you will earn a bronze star if you find all items, a silver star if you find all lost items OR all recyclable items and a gold star when you find all lost items AND recyclable items. You will also receive an eagle eye bonus if you don't use the hint. There is a Mega Hint feature that will briefly show you the location of all available items on the list.
After each HOG you will get to solve a puzzle or mini-game such as rotating puzzle tiles to complete a picture, Match 2 identical items by flipping over two cards at a time, Spot the Difference between two almost identical pictures, finding cruise-related words in a word search, or putting together a jigsaw type puzzle of the ship's layout.
Collector's Edition Extra's: 24 Wallpapers, 22 Music Soundtracks, 48 Replayable Mini-Games, and a new Cruise Adventure on the Caribbean Queen.

The Blackthorn Brothers aren't the sharpest tools in the Haunted Hotel Shed. After receiving their Family Reunion Invitation, they head to the Sweet 18 Hotel long before any other family member arrives. They don't seem to notice the dreadful condition of this establishment, nor do they put two and two together to draw a haunted hotel conclusion until it's too late. The concierge hands them a key to a very special room, Room 18. The boys soon find out that Room 18 has roots that intertwine deeply into their family's past, discovering how and why is the easy part, escaping Room 18 is a whole different ballgame!
What a perfect game for Halloween! The graphics are creepy, the sounds are haunting, and they remind me of the perfection this developer insisted on back in the day. I LOVED the Keyhole Hint graphics, well done! Okay, so the Morphing Objects are the Elephant in the room, literally, they are the size of a baby Elephant, but I am so happy to see that these guys are slowly returning to their roots. They are abandoning the "Emblem" for every single door, window, box, cabinet, and drawer scenario, they have returned to their original graphics style that was superior to all other developers back in the day. They lost sight of what made them special, honestly, they got lazy because we allowed them to be lazy by not noticing or complaining once we did notice. Room 18 isn't perfect but they are obviously trying to improve, and I will show my appreciation by giving them 5-Stars for the first time in a long time!
Hidden Object Scenes: There are 10 main Hidden Object Scenes and 4 smaller Zoom Zone HOP's +6 in the CE Bonus Chapter. They are mostly Interactive Listed Item Finds and Silhouetted Shape Finds but there are also Symbol Finds, Multiples of the same Object Finds Keyword Interactions Finds, Uncovering Pairs, and Finding 2 Related Combo Items that match the Listed Words (_+_= Mermaid) There are no alternate puzzles offered.
Mini-Games: There are 21 Mini-Games +6 in the CE Bonus Chapter. Although they are decent puzzles, they do tend to be fairly easy to solve, and there are several "clicking one may affect others" which are my personal nemesis. Below are a few of my personal favorites during the game:
1-Drag the frame over a tile & press directional arrows to align paths to allow energy to flow. 2-Move blocks horizontally or vertically to clear a path for the key. 3-Rotate groups of bottles until the colored corks match the pattern shown. 4-Press the 'jump" button on an arcade to avoid moving rows of skeletons, pumpkins, and ghosts, then jump on logs to the exit. 5-Drag clock weights that move the clock hands in different increments to set each time shown. 6-Remove all blocks by dragging and droppping them to matching colored blocks.
Bonus Chapter: Uncle Samuel insists on returning to Sweet 18 to rescue Caroline who he claims has been begging for his help in recurring nightly dreams, so it's back to the Haunted Hotel for some more ghostbusting work. This is an average-length chapter that takes place over 7 Scene Locations with 6 Hidden Object Scenes and 6 Mini-Games. You will continue to search for 7 Morphing Objects, 4 Morphing Character Statues, and 5 Puzzle Fragments to complete the final Bonus Scene Image as well.
Collector's Edition Extra's: 10 Wallpapers, 10 Concept Art Pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, 18 Achievements, 13 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 14 Replayable Mini-Games, Secret Room, 14 Morphing Character Statues, 26 Morphing Objects (25??), 20 Puzzle Pieces (to complete 4 Scene Images) 3 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a Built-In Strategy Guide.

This is basically the same game as Summer Adventures, only the names and the title have been changed to make it appear as if it were a new game. Everything is the same, it has the same features and the same mini-games in the same order!
The Hidden Object Scenes can be played in a Timed or Relaxed Mode, and you can earn up to 3 Stars, according to the amount of time it takes, but it doesn't seem to penalize you for misclicks or using the Hint feature. This is an old-fashioned Listed item find Hidden Object style (17 Text Listed Items per scene) and each scene has a Zoom Zone that contains the final 3 objects. The items to find are not proportionate, a tie may be normally sized sitting next to garlic the size of a basketball. You can improve your star rating by replaying the scenes, but the objects to find are different each time you play.
Each scene has 3 Hearts and 3 GPS logos that are the size of a small dog. Finding all 3 Hearts will unlock a new animal picture in an album, finding all GPS icons will unlock an album with island shapes, how amusing. Completing a scene will award you with a photo of the scene in yet another album, a feature I've been secretly hoping to see in a game for years, and yes, that was sarcasm. :)
After each Hidden Object Scene, there is a simplistic mini-game available, such as a 24 piece Jigsaw Puzzle with no rotating feature, a game of Pipes where you click to rotate square tiles to connect a path of pipes, a group of 2 or more identical image Match 3 game or a word search variation with fruit images instead of actual words, which had to selected from beginning to end, even though selecting it from end to beginning is the same thing. They don't even bother to change up the order of mini-games, much less offer a new version of the same game!

Unlike the recent Halloween themed Match 3 game released by this same developer, I liked most of the features, in fact, I loved the levels where you had to make matches in front of the statue to trigger a dart that would first clear the fog and the second time would remove the gems. I also liked the levels that had locked areas that required making a specified number of matches of specified tiles to open up the areas. There are several features that for me, made the game really fun to play, and I looked forward to each proceeding level because they were always unique.
The goal is to climb all 100 levels of the Tower of Gods which grants you a single wish. You can choose the graphics (fast or quality) and choose between a Casual or Expert difficulty as well as the type of Match 3 style, a Limited Time, Limited Moves, or a Relaxed Timeless Mode. There are 14 Achievements to earn and you can earn up to 3 Stars per level. I was super impressed that you can not only replay the current level but any previously played level at any time.
Unlike Halloween Trouble, this game doesn't have the annoying pop-up windows explaining the same two bonuses before the start of each level, the tiles are easy to see and differentiate between. It does allow you to make fast, consecutive matches which is a feature I insist on when playing a Match 3 game, but you have to wait for the computer to finish playing through before the score pops up which is really annoying, however, once the computer-generated moves finishes, you can double-click the Continue button to speed through to the next levels play icon.
After a few Match 3 levels, you can play, or skip a Mini-Game or Hidden Object Scenes, such as a Matching Pairs game where you flip 2 tiles at a time to find matches or a variation of Blocks where you move blocks out of the way to get the special block to the exit.

I liked the sci-fi theme when activating bonuses and the Halloween Tile themes with bats, witches hats, spiders and of course, pumpkins. I liked that you can choose between a Timed or Untimed Mode before the start of each level and that you can make fast back-to-back consecutive matches, but that was about all I liked about Halloween Trouble.
The instructions are vague and when the pop-up window appears to explain what a particular Bonus does, it disappears to fast to find out why you got it or how it works if you are in the zone and happen to click a match. The explanation for the refillable Hammer and Shuffle features, however, are constantly popping up and interrupting gameplay and are super annoying.
Although I liked the tiles themselves, they are difficult to see at times because the board layouts have black backgrounds and the tiles themselves are black or grey. Large Match opportunities are slim and I was forced to use the shuffle feature several times for lack of matching possibilities. Making fast, consecutive matches is a feature I insist on when playing a Match 3 game, but it defeats the purpose when you have to wait for the computer to finish playing through before the score pops up, then you are taken to the map scene, then you have to click play, then you have to see the explanation for the Hammer and the Shuffle, etc.
There are 14 Achievements available and there are the usual goals of making matches over gold cells or twice over blue cells as well as making matches of specific tiles or dropping items off the board. It also has the usual obstacles such as breaking stone walls, etc.
This is the kind of game you'll just have to play yourself to see if it rocks your Halloween world, but for me, the cons outweigh the pros and it just wasn't fun.

A Time Management fan can always count on Viking Brothers to be a top-notched, strategy-based game that's fun to play. They always add new features to keep them interesting and new, to us original diehard fans, which keep us coming back for more. I hate cold weather, I'd rather be sweating in a 100° climate than freezing during a "great white death snowstorm" and since Winter Is Coming, I just wasn't crazy about the theme of this episode where everything is frozen and everything needs to be chopped out of iceblocks, however, the game itself is excellent.
There are 50 levels +15 CE Bonus Levels that can be played in a Casual untimed mode, Normal or Expert modes of difficulty and there are 44 Achievement awards to earn. When you earn an award a pop up appears on the bottom left of the screen just long enough to read it, without being obtrusive or slowing down progress. There is a Star meter on the top right to help you keep tabs on getting close to losing a precious star. You can earn up to 3 Stars per level, and the only complaint I have with this game is that once again, after finishing the level, there are no dancing characters, and, there's a brief lag between finishing the level and receiving the Score pop-up. Several times I found myself panicking, wondering if I had missed fulfilling a level goal because the characters were just casually walking around as if I still had to point them in the right direction to finish a task.
The Magic Chests have returned that allows you to choose which resource you want, such as Wood, Stone, or Food. You'll still have the usual goals of building and upgrading Sawmills, Quarries, Farms, and Gold Mines, repairing Ladders and Bridges made of various materials. Because the brothers are shipwrecked on Queen Elsa's Frozen island, you'll need to build fires to keep resources from freezing into a block of ice, chase away starving Snow Wolves, or build Igloos to keep warm. As you progress, you will also be able to use the Bonus Icon to add workers, make the Workers move faster, earn more money, extra resources etc.

Perhaps it's just my imagination, but the tiles seem less bouncy, everything seemed to be less intense, and that's a good thing! I play Mosaic games to unwind and relax and the last thing I want is sensory overload while being gummy bear-ed and glitterbombed. These puzzles seem a little more challenging as well, so all in all, I'm impressed with the subtle changes, it also helps that I love Halloween :)
There are options for the crossed-off cells such as light or dark cells and there are Five Tile fill-in options to choose from, a Bubble style, a square with rounded corners, a Princess Cut Diamond shape, a multi-faceted tile, and a lunar-style. You can play in an Easy mode which crosses off cells for you and applies the appropriate colors, a Normal mode, or a Difficult mode which only crosses off squares when the entire row and column have been completed, and you have to manually switch between colors.
As you fill in the cells you will earn coins, Heart/Lives or Power-up recharges. Power-ups, such as a Hammer, Sun, Lightning or Bombs, originally don't have much coverage but increases with each upgrade. (can be upgraded twice) There are 7 Achievement Trophies to earn, and you can buy various souvenirs in the Shop to decorate the Walker family's spooky living room because apparently they ditch the older ones lol.
Each of the Locations has 6 main Mosaic levels, 1 bonus level, and 1 additional puzzle (jigsaw variations) You must earn at least 2 Stars on each main level to open the bonus level, and you must earn a minimum of 2 stars on the Bonus Level to open the additional puzzle variation. You also have to earn at least 1 Star in each of the main levels to unlock the next location or group of mosaic levels. If you lose all your heart lives you will be given the opportunity to answer a question about the story to refill the heart-life meter.

My Dearest #1 Favorite Developer Please forgive me for my 3-Star rating of Darkness And Flame. I have put a great deal of thought into what it was about Evil In Reflection that so disappointed me and the conclusion is that apparently I am being manipulated by the evil Dark Forces of the Darkness. That's surely the reason for the absence of the Dark Forces in this latest endeavor, because the force is strong in this fan, so they had to send all available recruits to extinguish my Flame. I tried to fight off the Darkness, but it was impossible to "go towards the light" when Alice bound the wings of her Flaming Phoenix 99% of the game. The evil Dark Forces have become quite strong over their 1.5-year hiatus and they probably took advantage of the fact that I love zombie-themed movies and games. By now it should be abundantly clear that the only way to banish my Star Removing, Dark evil entity, is to quickly release the next installment of Darkness And Flame, one that actually incorporates Darkness AND Flames...go ahead, I'll wait....
There are only 11 Hidden Object Scenes +3 in the CE Bonus Chapter. Most of them include at least one puzzle to solve, some have 2-3! Most of the scenes are Interactive-Progressive Listed Items or Silhouetted Shapes requiring you to interact with the scene or solve puzzles to find an item that is used somewhere else in the scene. These are very lengthy scenes and not for the faint of heart. There are a few scenes that are still highly interactive but only require finding Multiple coins, birds or artifacts, and some that required taking items from the inventory and placing them logically on the scene. My favorite HOP required replacing objects on 4 different scenes using arrows to switch scenes. I can't complain about the HOP's by this developer, they are the only developer to succeed in making HOP's both interesting and challenging.
There are a whopping 46 Mini-Games +4 in the CE Bonus Chapter, most of the HOP's have 1-3 puzzles to solve. They range from simplistic games that can be solved in 30 seconds to mind-melting ridiculous games you have to restart several times to solve. There are also several codes you have to memorize for some games but they are usually close to one another. Here are a few of my favorite games:
✇-Move insect tiles to their matching slots using other tiles as bumpers & gears to change their direction. ✇-Move blue chips to their slots using red chips as bumpers, moving chips on the left side will also move chips on the right side. ✇-Navigate paths through the mountain by finding and using objects to overcome obstacles, if you get hit by a rockslide you must start over from the beginning. ✇-Select buttons to move tokens along various paths so that the blue sides of triangular buttons align with the board. ✇-Connect a continuous line, without backtracking, to every point that recreates the images shown x 5 ✇-Place quantity-limited crystals of varying coverage to fully illuminate the path. ✇-Choose one partial image on the right & left that when combined will match the image on the stone in the middle of each step x7 ✇-Move rows so the heads will drop to their matching bodies.
The CE Bonus Chapter takes place shortly after the timeframe of the main game. Albert the scientist thinks he knows how to revive stone statues. There are only 4 Mini-Games and 3 Hidden Object Scenes in this lengthy bonus chapter. There are no Morphing Objects but there is a new collectible of 12 Tin Cans available. It doesn't have a very interesting story but at least the scenes are more colorful. This Collector's Edition has 11 Wallpapers, 10 Concept Art Pictures, 18 Movie Video Cutscenes, 8 Music Soundtracks, 12 Replayable Mini-Games, 5 Replayable Bonus Puzzles Puzzles (square tile jigsaws awarded for collectible completion) 20 Bonus Levels of Icon Sliding Tile Mini-Game (for completing Morphing Object collection) 22 Achievements, 32 Morphing Objects, 44 Collectibles (8 Bullfinches, 8 Butterflies, 9 Phoenix Symbols, 7 Apples, 12 Tin Cans) 5 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a Built-In Strategy Guide.

I love this developer, I love that he always visits and interacts with us at the pond, but I had to force myself to complete this game because I bought the game thinking this would be a great who-dun-it mystery game, a genre I happen to love! But, there are ONLY 2-3 AREAS OF INTEREST PER SCENE (zoom zones, hos, mini-game etc) there's nothing to do, nothing interesting to see, and when there is something to do, it almost always involves having to unlock a door or drawer, cut thru and/or use acid on a locked chain or cut the straps of a suitcase. How many times can I repeat these same 3 tasks before I go insane? The games are repeats, the games are boring, the HO scenes are boring, the repetitive tasks are really boring, the story is okay-ish but it's difficult to keep up with because the characters all look similar and getting from point A to point B is soooo slooooowww!
Gadget: You will use your Smartphone to take pictures of 18 different Evidence items. (the pictures are taken automatically) After collecting several evidence pictures, you will click the Phone Icon to make 6 different Case Analyses Deductions. This involves rifling through the images (how did phone snapshots magically turn into old polaroid photos???) and then placing them into the correct categories while hearing the conclusions the detective has concluded.
Collectibles/Morphing Objects (CE version only) There are 32 Collectible Playing Cards and 29 Morphing Presents. The Cards are huge and stick out like a sore thumb and the Presents morph way to quickly. Even if they didn't morph at all they would still be easily spotted because all you have to do is scan the scene for a square or round object laying in the middle of the floor.
Hidden Object Scenes: There are 13 Hidden Object Scenes +6 in the CE Bonus Chapter that vary with Interactive Listed Item Finds, Silhouetted Shape Finds, and Multiples of Related Items. There are a few Keywords in Sentence Finds, but they are listed as Mini-Games, not HOP's. The scenes are nothing more than large, unorganized lumps of clutter-junk and the items to find are usually blurry and difficult to recognize. To make matters worse, the scenes are located in unappealing, uninteresting locations. This would be a perfect time to add a "Skip" feature to a HOS, fortunately, there's an alternate Matching Pairs game where you flip over 2 available tokens at a time to find related images, such as a Rose and a Vase,
Mini-Games: There are 25 mini-games +10 in the CE Bonus Chapter. These are the same exact puzzles that were offered in the last couple of games released by this developer, most of which are easily solved on the first attempt and not all that impressive. One of the mini-games that this developer has used in nearly all of their games is repeated several times as a "Fight-Scene" scenario. You are challenged with dragging lines between 3 or more tokens that match your colors and hopefully, not your opponent's colored tokens which drains your amounts. There are 3 different boards to clear before you deck your male opponent (Do you really expect me to believe that I could win a fistfight with a testosterone, pumped-up dude who is ruthless enough to punch a woman?) however, the game is maddening because there are no more than 3 matchable tokens in your color vs. 7-10 matchable opponent tokens so the game is completely boring and not fun to play once much less 3 boards, and then having to agonize through the same game two additional times is maddening! I have listed a few games that were slightly more interesting:
1-Click directional arrows to slide 2 tokens to their matching slot, using obstacles as bumpers to change the destination paths. 2-Swap groups of 2 triangle puzzle pieces to complete the image. 3-Use directional arrows to steer the ship clear of obstacles. 4-Connect ends of colored wires into partial symbols to recreate the symbols. 5-Assemble a series of jigsaw variation puzzles (jigsaw-square tiles-rings)
Bonus Chapter: The Great Storm (CE version only) Relive that stormy night from a Coast Guards point of view as you rescue the crew of the Yacht. This is an average-length chapter that takes place pretty much entirely aboard the yacht with 7 additional scene locations. There are 10 Mini-Games and 6 Hidden Object Scenes to stretch out the length of actual gameplay. There are no Collectible Playing Cards or Morphing Presents to find which I find odd considering the game takes place on the yacht that is owned by the Present-giver? Once again, the Giant Brave guy does not give us an opportunity to pick up any missed collectibles or morphs. (I missed a card because 3 scenes had 2 cards instead of 1 and I just wasn't paying attention)
Collector's Edition Extra's: 16 Wallpapers from 16 of the scenes & w/o characters, yay! (can't download until completion of the main game...why, do I not own this game??) 5 Music Soundtracks, 8 Movie Video Cutscenes, 8 Replayable Mini-Games, 8 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 24 Achievements, 32 Collectible Playing Cards, 29 Morphing Presents, 4 Main Chapters with 29 Scene Locations, +Bonus Chapter with 7 Scene Locations, and a Built-In Strategy Guide.
