Detective Dupin has asked us to help him save the world again after portals began appearing and disappearing throughout our world. The Gaming World's began fusing and the boundaries between them blurring which will bring an end to all Worlds if a solution isn't found quickly. It looks like the dastardly deeds of Saint Germain have struck once again, this time with deadly consequences for life as we know it!
Gadget/Helpers: There is a Staff of Time Gadget that is used several times throughout the game with an associated, repetitive mini-game where you rotate sections of a column to create a specified animal before activating the Staff.
Collectibles/Morphing Objects: There are 27 Morphing Objects (19 in the Main Chapters +8 CE Bonus Chapter) throughout the Main and Bonus Chapters and 76 Zoom Zone Coins (49 in the Main Chapters +27 in the CE Bonus Chapter) of various amounts that allows you to purchase 12 Dungeon Items.
Hidden Object Scenes: There are 30 Hidden Object Scenes +12 in the CE Bonus Chapter and several smaller Zoom Zone HOP's. Most of the scenes are Interactive List Finds and Silhouetted Shape Finds but there are also Keywords in Sentence Finds, Find & Replace scenes and Multiples of the Same Object Finds.
Mini-Games: There are a whopping 62 Mini-Games +13 in the CE Bonus Chapter, some of which are available in a Casual or Hard difficulty Mode. There is a repetitive mini-game associated with the Staff of Time Gadget which requires you to rotate segments of a column to form a specific animal. Here are a few of my personal favorites from the game:
1-Clear a path to navigate a horse through a maze. 2-Play a Rock-Paper-Scissors Card game against a puppet. 3-Place books on top & bottom shelves so their sum equals the books on the middle shelves. 4-Rotate & swap triangular puzzle pieces. 5-Interlock sections to form a bridge. 6-Swap keys to match color & design
Bonus Chapter (CE version only) The Bonus Chapter is a lengthy sequel that takes place over 8 scene locations as a member of the newly formed group called The Watchers, battling werewolves from an alien planet. There are 13 Mini-Games and 12 Hidden Object Scenes, and you will continue searching for the remaining 8 Morphing Objects and 49 Coins to purchase the final Dungeon Items.

Harry is an adventurous little penguin now that he is on his own. This time he's on an Underwater Adventure discovering the beauty of the depths of the ocean blue and I sure hope his momma had a Stranger Danger talk with him about shark-infested waters.
Little has changed over the last 38 games in just 5 short years. They added multiple colors, they added tile styles, they added locked colors, they added multiple difficulties including Zen mode, but #38 is basically the same, nothing new or different added.
Zen Mode has returned if you prefer to solve the griddlers without all the hand/flipper holding. In Zen Mode, the numbers aren't crossed off but Mistakes aren't counted against you either, because chances are, you'll have to edit some of the cells as you switch colors. You can delete filled-in or crossed-off cells by right-clicking the cell in Zen Mode, and you'll know you have completed a particular color correctly because a checkmark will appear on the color bubble.
In addition to the new Zen Mode, you can also choose to play in a Casual Mode which crosses off the cells one by one, or the Advanced Mode, which only crosses off the remaining cells once the entire row and column have been filled in. You will earn a Gold trophy if you make no mistakes, a Silver trophy if you make one mistake and a Bronze trophy if you make two mistakes. You will also earn up to three gold Stars if you don't use any hints, one star is deducted each time you use a hint. Therefore, it is possible to make a mistake or two but still earn 3 stars as long as you don't use any available hints.
There are 20 locations, and each location has 5 Griddlers each. You can choose from 7 different tile sets, ranging in color vibrancy and styles. Locked Colors can be disabled in the Settings menu, otherwise, some of the colors are locked and unavailable until you uncover color-specific keys that are hidden beneath some of the filled-in cells The Eye feature allows you to hide the grid to get a look at the puzzle without all the grid lines, and there is a reset icon that makes it much easier to restart the level if you make a mistake.
There are groups of numbers located on each column and row of the grid, each group of numbers must be separated by at least one blank or crossed off cell. Sometimes it's easier to cross-off cells that can't possibly contain a filled-in cell, which will reduce the number of cells and narrow the playing field down a bit, when you get stuck, you can switch colors and work back and forth until it's solved. Some of the cells contain bonuses such as extra hints, extra mistakes allowed or an extra pickax which allows you to choose which cell you want a hint on, and some cells contain keys to unlock colors (unless you disable this feature in settings) There is a Sun icon as well that when fully charged, will give you a mega-hint, filling in or crossing off a 3x3 area of your choice.

Here a ball, there a ball, everywhere a Tree Ball, yes those Walkers have some balls, E-I-E-I-Oh-my! I have fun playing Shopping Clutter for a few levels but after the introductory tutorial levels running through the different Clutter styles, it just gets repetitive and boring. The items are huge, so large they can be spotted from across the room and they are the same items in every level, in fact, they are the same items in the four previous games as well...and a good chunk of them aren't even Christmas related! I will admit that this dev tries to come up with different styles but they aren't challenging and when a game is super easy, it gets super boring :(
You can choose between an Easy or Difficulty Mode, but as I said earlier the difficult mode is worthless because the objects to match are so large. The Easy Mode is an Untimed mode and the Difficult Mode is simply a Timed Mode that gives you extra points for completing the level, +10 points for every second remaining on the timer, and +500 points for every unused Hint feature. There are 140 Clutter-type levels that can be replayed if you want to earn a better score. After playing 7 Clutter levels, you can play a Puzzle variation such as Square Tile Swaps (adjacent, diagonal, etc.) or Sliders (20 Total Puzzles)
Some levels have objects that can be moved out of the way. some continually move along a path. Each scene has a ton of GIANT Sun Emblems scattered among the junkpiles to recharge the Hint Meter.

DON'T let the cutesie graphics fool ya, this is no fool's game and it's certainly not a child's Match 3 game! I've played a lot of Match 3 games over the years but I have never seen a game quite like this one. Button Tales is an extremely challenging Limited Moves game that requires a little bit of luck, a little bit of skill, a little bit of memory, and a whole lot of patience!
In Button Tales: Way Back Home, there are two ways to make matches, the old-fashioned way of swapping tiles, or the Button Tales way of flipping buttons over. The old-fashioned way is perfectly fine but isn't strategically advantageous most of the time because, for one, it uses up a precious limited Move, and trust me, they aren't very generous with the amounts given. When you flip a button over, on the other hand, it doesn't affect your Limited Moves, AND it may result in an automatic match which also doesn't count towards a Move. (I found this out the hard way on level 3)
Everything else is pretty much standard Match 3 flair, make required matches of Specified Buttons, Clear all Green cells, bust through Obstacles such as Crates, and receive Bonuses for Large Matches, like Bombs of various coverage and Vertical or Horizontal Line Busters.
The first two levels really fooled me into thinking this was one of those sugary sweet Match 3 games converted from mobile to PC. By the time Level 3 rolled around I realized that there was more to this game and that I'd need to plan my moves strategically. The board layouts are tricky and the challenges they present assures a lengthy game well worth the price.

Beeeeeeep--/\|/\/-|/\-------------One minute you're flatlining, the next thing you know you're face to face with Chronos the Keeper of the Temple of Time who tells you there's been a mistake made...wait, what! Priestess Hecate has gone completely insane and she's on a rogue murder spree killing innocent people way before their clock is supposed to stop ticking, and you're one of her victims...but why? Only one way to find out, save three innocent souls in the Redemption Cemetery...(why do I always have to fix everyone's mistakes????)
૮σℓℓε૮ƭเɓℓεร & ɱσ૨ρɦเɳɠ σɓʝε૮ƭร: (૮ε ѵε૨รเσɳ σɳℓყ) There are 24 Collectible Hourglasses in 8 different colors (3 of each color) The colored sand is used to "paint" an image correctly. (select the "Check" button to briefly show the colors' placements on the image and then select the desired sand color and the highlighted areas to fill) Each of the 26 Scene Locations also has a Morphing Skull.
ɦเ∂∂εɳ σɓʝε૮ƭ ร૮εɳεร: There are 12 Hidden Object Scenes and 11 smaller Zoom-Zone Hop's +4 in the CE Bonus Chapter. They are mostly Interactive List Finds and almost every scene is repeated at least once. There are also Swatch Finds, Silhouetted Shape Finds, Multiples of the same Object Finds, Picture Finds, Keywords in Sentence Finds, Description Finds, and one fairly creative scene where you have to place Stencils onto highlighted areas that become animals even though it doesn't look like an animal before the stencil is placed.
ɱเɳเ-ɠαɱεร: There are 30 Mini-Games +8 in the ૮ε Bonus Chapter. They are decent puzzles but fairly easy to solve. Here's a list of games that I enjoyed the most during the game:
☠~Drag Horizontal & Vertical strips to complete the image. ☠~Use fire to push the tiger away from the edges toward the jungle path. ☠~Swap various statue decor between 3 statues. ☠~Use the green spider to jump and eliminate red spiders. ☠~Arrange triangles so the colors of their adjacent sides match. ☠~Swap tiles to make connections of wicks from each color-coded bomb to its matching sparK. ☠~Guide 4 elemental tiles to the crystal of life (Earth beats Water, Wind beats Earth, Water beats Fire, Fire beats Wind)
ɓσɳµร ૮ɦαρƭε૨ (૮ε ѵε૨รเσɳ σɳℓყ) Save your own soul in this slightly above average-length bonus chapter that takes place over 8 new Scene Locations. Play as Bernadette who loses her life while rescuing a young girl named Ginger who became trapped in a camper during a fire at the campgrounds. Chronos tells you there has been a mistake, you shouldn't have perished and sends you to untangle the Threads of Time which will reverse the incident. (why do I have to fix his mistakes...again!?) There are 4 Hidden Object Scenes, and 8 Mini-Games and you will continue searching for the final 8 Morphing Skulls and 6 Hourglasses to finish the sand painting.

It was bound to happen ⚣ sooner or later, and the result of it ⚢ happening was a hybrid spirit-human child ⚤. This child was the key to peace and harmony between the two races, but not everyone believed peace and harmony was possible. There will always be naysayers, always be those who fear change, those with an old-school mentality of "the way we did it back in my day" those with clouded vision who refuse to bend or see things from a new perspective, and you soon discover that there are two sides to every coin...and it's only your first day of class at the Monster Hunter's Academy!
Gadget/Helper (5 times in the main chapter only) There is a Beastiary Book that allows you to banish various Beasts after collecting 3 key ingredients and playing an associated mini-game. The mini-game varies each time and it's not a horrible feature because it's only used 5 times.
Morphing Objects & Collectibles: There are 15 Morphing Spirit Geodes with descriptions and 15 Inventions Collectibles some of which are very small and hard to spot because of their size. Each scene has at least one Zoom-Zone Sapphire of varying amounts which are used to purchase 15 items to decorate Pricilla's Office. The Collectibles and Morphing Objects are available throughout the Main Chapter as well as the Bonus Chapter (CE version)
Hidden Object Scenes: There are 12 Hidden Object Scenes +4 in the CE Bonus Chapter with an optional Match 3 Game available. There are several variations offered such as Interactive Listed Items, Keywords in Sentence Finds, Listed Multiples of Item Finds, Find & Replace Items, Combo Finds, ? + ? =Horse finds, Listed Items x2.
Mini-Games: There are 22 Mini-Games +8 in the CE Bonus Chapter, most of which can be played in an Easy or Hard difficulty mode. Five of the mini-games are associated with the Bestiary Book Gadget as well. Below are brief descriptions of some of my personal favorite puzzles from the game.
1-Use directional arrows to move the slider bar to pick up & place 2 symbols at a time to match the order shown. 2-Follow wires to get symbol numbers to enter code. 3-Guide the frog to water droplet & then firey hound by rotating the board and using arrows to move the frog to open squares. 4-Mover ladders and bridges by selecting available levers. 5-Connect clouds with the number of connections shown on each cloud. 6-Combine the correct amounts of each liquid according to the clues.
Bonus Chapter: (Collector's Edition version only) Momma needs your help once again from an ancient evil that has been awoken in this lengthy bonus chapter that takes place over 10 Scene Locations. There are 8 additional Mini-Games and 4 Hidden Object Scenes, and you will pick up the remaining 5 Morphing Geodes, 4 Inventions, and 7 Sapphires which allows you to purchase the final office items in Priscilla's Office.
Collector's Edition Extra's 15 Wallpapers, 16 Concept Art Pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks. 37 Cutscene Movie Videos, 22 Replayable Mini-Games, 18 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 33 Achievements to Earn. 15 Morphing Spirit Geodes, 15 Inventions, 70 Sapphires (used to purchase 15 items in Priscilla's Office, 6 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter, and a Built-In Strategy Guide.

Prince and Princess's little Princess, Princesses Princess Aurora (just wanted to make an abundant amount of random princess runs to show how absurd the generic princess names are) is all grown up now and doing what every HOPA princess does best, getting kidnapped. Gather the Stone Troops, send in the Stone Bassett Hounds (can they still sniff stuff?) and grab your shovels, we're going underground to pluck Princesses Princess from the powerful plundering sorceresses grasps, Prince can be filled in later I'm sure he won't mind...oh btw, don't forget to bring a box of tissues, you're gonna need them! (preferably the softer, non-stone brand)
Collectibles/Morphing Objects: There are 26 Morphing Flowers and 12 Collectible Character Statues that quite small, but they are fairly easily spotted. The 48 Zoom-Zone Puzzle Pieces, however, are fantastically blended into the scenery so well that I had to concentrate to find some of them, so Bravo my peanut-loving friend! The puzzle pieces are used to assemble four 12-piece jigsaw screensavers.
Hidden Object Scenes: There are 8 Hidden Object Scenes + 7 in the CE Bonus Chapter and 5 smaller Zoom-Zone HOP's. Some of the objects are nicely blended into the scenery which is a rare feature from this developer! They vary with Interactive Listed Item Finds, Silhouetted Shape Finds, Keywords in Sentence Finds, Swatches Finds, Multiples of the Same Object Finds, FROG's, and Matching Pair Finds. There are no alternate puzzles available.
Mini-Games: There are 17 Mini-Games +6 in the CE Bonus Chapter, some of which are multi-layered. These are all rehashed puzzles that appear in all of the games by this developer, not a single puzzle was original! Here's a list of a few of the games I enjoyed the most: ❀Move plates between panels to restore each character's image.
❀Place flowers with partial stems onto highlighted slots correctly. ❀Swap horizontal tiles to complete the image on 2 cabinet doors. ❀Rearrange plates to create 3 different keyholes.
Bonus Chapter (CE version) Aurora calls in a Detective to help locate a special Reedpipe after her mother's mental health declines. Explaining further will ruin the plot of the main game, but I will say that this is one bonus chapter you need for closure after such a sad main chapter-ending :( This is a slightly above average length chapter that takes place over 8 scene locations from the main game, with 7 Hidden Object Scenes and 6 Mini-Games (one of which is a 3-part game) You will pick up the remaining 8 Morphing Objects, 3 Character Statues, and 12 Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces which allows you to complete the fourth and final Screensaver Jigsaw Puzzle.
Collector's Edition Extras: 14 Wallpapers (6 of them w/o characters, yay!) 12 Concept Art Pictures, A Winking Cat, 5 Music Soundtracks, 12 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 13 Replayable Mini-Games, 21 Achievements, 26 Morphing Objects, 12 Character Statues, 48 Zoom-Zone Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces, 4 Jigsaw Puzzle Screensavers (12 pieces each) 5 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a Built-In Strategy Guide.

This is the way a Christmas Story should be, wickedness running amuck, while still remaining light-hearted and full of Christmas Cheer...and of course, a "Happily Ever After" ending. Well done big D, and did I detect a bit of sarcasm in response to the "other" Christmas game?
Gadget/Helper (9 times in the main chapter only) There is a Magical Mirror Gadget that allows you to communicate with your father, Wilhelm Grimm. Because they don't have an unlimited Data Plan in Fairyworld, you'll have to get your "minutes" by replacing one Blue and one Green Crystal, and naturally, the "minutes" don't roll-over and the Crystals shatter after each use.
Morphing Objects & Collectibles: There are 15 Morphing Christmas Trees and 15 Constellations Collectibles that can be a little hard to spot in some scenes. Each scene has at least one Zoom-Zone Gingerbread Stars Collectible of varying amounts. The Gingerbread Stars are used to purchase 15 Boudoir items that are Christmas themed. The Collectibles and Morphing Objects are available throughout the Main Chapter as well as the Bonus Chapter (CE version)
Hidden Object Scenes: There are 18 Hidden Object Scenes +5 in the CE Bonus Chapter with an optional Match 3 Game available. There are several variations offered such as Interactive Listed Items, Keywords in Sentence Finds, Listed Multiples of Item Finds, Find & Replace Items, Combo Finds, and my favorite, Listed items that are missing letters.
Mini-Games: There are 32 Mini-Games +10 in the CE Bonus Chapter, most of which can be played in an Easy or Hard difficulty mode. Below are brief descriptions of some of my personal favorite puzzles from the game.
1-Place bells on shelves so each group of music symbols is surrounded by their symbol-related bells. 2-Slide beaded ropes up or down to align the symbols to the door's edge. 3-Use directional arrows to move the tassel the specified number of moves shown on each tile to land on the green tile. 4-Move, rotate and scale images to fit the highlights on the background. 5-Rotate triangle puzzle pieces to complete the image. 6-Drag a line between color-coded buttons without overlapping.
Bonus Chapter: (Collector's Edition version only) There's no rest for Mother Holle as she tries to make this season bright. I have become rather bored with the mosaics offered by the same two developers, one of which has offered 38 games in just 5 years. Those series games are perfectly fine, but there are thousands of developers out there and just as many Mosaic games, yet BF chooses the same two developers with the same two Mosaic series games each and every month. My point is, it sure is nice to get a change of pace, and this developer has once again delivered a great Mosaic game that has great features, beautiful (& recognizable) images, a variety of Bonus games, and to top it off, they are really challenging, logic-based puzzles! My only complaints are that the cursor seems to lag a bit between placing it on a cell and the highlighted cross-hairs that appear to show you where you are, and I'd like a tile choice option.
You can choose from 14 different Avatars and there are 32 unique and humorous Achievements to earn, You can play in an Easy or Hard difficulty mode which either crosses off numbers immediately or when the entire row or column has been completed, and you can earn up to 3 Stars per level with 5 Mistakes allowed per level.
Each Level has 6 Mosaic puzzles to solve and right from the get-go they are challenging because they are detailed images with a lot of color-shading variations on oddly shaped grids. They aren't hard to solve, but it's easy to make a mistake if you don't pay attention because unlike those other 2 mosaic games I mentioned, these aren't necessarily symmetrical puzzles (which is why those puzzles are so easy)
The Gold nuggets you uncover while solving the Mosaics is used to unlock the Bonus Puzzles, There are 9 Bonus Games available:
