Spellspire is a thrilling mashup of word game and action role playing game. Pick letters from a grid to spell words and shoot them from your wand as spells. The longer the word, the bigger the blast!

This game brought back fond memories of some long-forgotten Word Games like Bookworm and Word Womp but at least those games accepted legitimate words that can be found in any English Dictionary. It clearly doesn't accept spelling preferences outside of North America either as stated by the reviewers from New Zealand and Australia. For example: Recognize is preferred in American and Canadian English, while Recognise is preferred outside North America and the same rule applies for Realize versus Realise
It doesn't accept common words that can be used in two different ways (either/or) such as Blue and Bleu. It accepts Blue but not Bleu even though both are acceptable and technically, Bleu is correct when referencing Roquefort Bleu Cheese. The latter issue could be easily solved by adding a Language or Country preference, otherwise, the game seems to be programmed to look for, and even prefer, Affixes (prefix/suffix) over words with unusual spelling.
If it was just a matter of recognizing or recognising the pattern of acceptable words, the game could potentially be enjoyable for a select group of players who are at least somewhat knowledgable of spelling correctly and the ability to quickly click on the letters because a certain amount of manual dexterity is required. Personally, I wasn't crazy about the "batteling of zombies" scenario, I'd much rather race against a clock to spell as many words as possible.
There are 100 levels and 22 Achievements, and you can replay the levels with the Stars you earn, Coins are used to upgrade your wizard. You can upgrade his Wand, Robe, Hat, and Bag (to hold more items) which basically gives you more "health" to last longer against those word-hating zombies, and you can sell some of the items you don't want. Occasionally, you will receive a Dictionary which automatically finds the longest word available and various other potions and spells. There is a Treasure Chest full of various coins and stars that can be opened every 8 hours but I'm not sure whether that means 8 hours of actual gameplay or just 8 hours on the clock.

Like its predecessors, The Black Raven, Cthulhu Mythos and Arkham's Spirits, Grimm Tales is just another cookie-cutter version of all the other solitaire games by this dev. Once again, this is a Solitaire version where the game ends once all of the Gold Cards have been removed. I just don't understand why they can't make an adjustment to allow the option of continuing to play for points once all of the gold cards have been removed, how difficult can that be? (and I'm sure they would sell more games that way)
The features never change on games by this dev, the features included in the first solitaire game they released will be the same features offered in their latest solitaire game 8 years later! You can choose from 9 uninteresting themed card backs and 3 different face card fonts. You are forced to begin the game in Newbie mode, which allows you to replay any hand, then, if you prefer, you can switch to the Professional mode which only allows you to replay the entire pack of 10 levels.
You need to earn the specified amount of points to unlock the next pack, and the scoring is similar to bowling, in the event of a perfect score, the points of that level are added to the next. Another feature I don't like in this devs games is that the tutorial makes you click another card off of the deck even though there are several playable card options available on the board. (but then again, you don't really need a tutorial if you have played any other solitaire game by this dev) I'm reluctant to skip the tutorial just in case they have added a new feature, which never happens, but one never knows, and I remain hopeful. I also hate that when you remove a Bonus card with a Swirly Gem it takes forever to explain what the card gives you, as it freezes continued gameplay to tell you what you won. Most of the time it gives you +499 extra points, but occasionally, a Joker, Mulligan or a Shuffle, because it takes so long, finding two of these cards back to back is super agonizing!
If you own or have played any games by this dev, you've more than likely already played this one because they are all identical, you just can't tell the difference between them, and there's certainly no "storyline" much less a Grimm Tales storyline.

The next time I go to the Zoo, I'm totally going to just stand there at the gate, holding up the entire line, waiting for the zookeeper to pick me up and carry me to each and every animal exhibition. Better yet, he could just get behind me and push me just like the game. The zookeeper would surely rather clean the lion's den or scrub the alligator's teeth, and I'd surely rather join him in doing so, before playing a game that requires me to drag characters all over the board!
I gotta admit, I was pretty excited about a TM game where I get to build a Zoo to house all kinds of exotic creatures big and small, how cool is that?!? I'm sure many fellow animal lovers will enjoy this Time Management game if they aren't opposed to dragging the poor kids through the park, and if they can overlook the fact that the game is nothing more than a Manual Dextethrity exercise based solely upon the premise of simplistic fast-play "mini-games" that are neither fun nor do they require logic or any other thought process. Perhaps, the game was an app and someone got the bright idea to convert it to a desktop version without tweaking the settings?
Basically, customers arrive and pop a squat on a chair in the middle of nowhere and patiently (☺/ ☹) wait to be dragged to the animal of their preference, a raccoon or a fennec fox for starters. As assistant to Zookeeper Kerry, and the only employee, it is your responsibility to hoist them over your shoulder and plop them gently at the chosen exhibition destination, as indicated by the patrons' thought bubble, because you are also psychic.
Once the patron has arrived at their Zooworld location, you simply click the tiny pink button which summons Kerry the Zookeeper because she can't seem to figure out which of the 2 locations she should visit even though they are within a few feet of each other. Once that magic Call Button has been clicked it's time to play a mini-game such as choosing the correct item the raccoon wants (1/3 pictured items) or a whack-a-mole version of choosing the holes the fennec fox will appear. The mini-games require speed and manual dexterity, not logic, so I'm confused as to who the targeted audience is supposed to be, kids or adults? I don't think older people will like this game because of the above features.
When the customers are finished being picked up and dragged to the animal exhibitions, a MIRACLE occurs and they are suddenly able to walk on their own two feet to the Cash Register! Guess that's why they call it Zooworld Odyssey!

A Time Management fan can always count on Viking Brothers to be a top-notched, strategy-based game that's fun to play. They always add new features to keep them interesting and new, to us original diehard fans, which keeps us coming back for more. With that being said, I hate cold weather, I'd rather be sweating in a 100° climate than freezing during a "great white death snowstorm" and since "Winter Is Here" I just wasn't crazy about the theme of this episode where everything is frozen and everything needs to be chopped out of iceblocks, it looks exactly like Ohio :( If you don't mind the bland icy tundra, the game itself is excellent.
There are 45 levels +15 in the Collector's Edition version's Bonus Levels. You can play in a Casual untimed mode, Normal or Expert modes of difficulty and there are 40 Achievement awards to earn. (+4 in the CE version?) When you earn an award a pop up appears on the bottom left of the screen just long enough to read it, without being obtrusive or slowing down progress.
There is a Star meter on the top right to help you keep tabs on getting close to losing a precious star. You can earn up to 3 Stars per level, and the only complaint I have with this game is that once again, after finishing the level, there are no dancing characters, and, there's a brief lag between finishing the level and receiving the Score pop-up. Several times I found myself panicking, wondering if I had missed fulfilling a level goal because the characters were just casually walking around as if I still had to point them in the right direction to finish a task.
The Magic Chests have returned that allows you to choose which resource you want, such as Wood, Stone, or Food. You'll still have the usual goals of building and upgrading Sawmills, Quarries, Farms, and Gold Mines, repairing Ladders and Bridges made of various materials. Because the brothers are shipwrecked on Queen Elsa's Frozen island, you'll need to build fires to keep resources from freezing into a block of ice, chase away starving Snow Wolves, or build Igloos to keep warm, brrr. As you progress, you will also be able to use the Bonus Icon to add workers, make the Workers move faster, earn more money, extra resources, etc.
Keep warm, enjoy!

Completed Game approximately 5 hours (including completion of all mini-games & CE Bonus Chapter) 23 Scene Locations + 9 in the CE Bonus Chapter Difficulty Range: Beginners
There's no Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Booing going on here folks, and Walt would never consider hiring these writers! (Do you hear that? That's just Walt turning over in his grave) I have been looking forward to this new addition to the Domini family since I read about its upcoming release. Fairy Godmother Stories had so much potential, a Fantasy Game with a Fairy Godmother who can make someone's wishes come true with a wave of her wand sounds so magical, so whimsical, so fun! Instead, what I got was a Fairy Godmother who doesn't do ANYTHING MAGICAL, she doesn't even use her magic wand until the final scene and that was a scene that was anything BUT MAGICAL!
Don't let this title fool you, the Fairy Godmother is nothing more than a Detective, the storyline is nothing more than an average non-magical plot, this game is NO different than any of this developer's other game series, which always involves a detective with a gimmicky device! Note to developers: Would you like to hire me as a writer? I guarantee my imagination is far more creative!
Morphing Objects & Collectibles: (CE version only) There are 15 Magic Devices of Fairyland that are way too obvious and morph far too quickly to present any kind of challenge. There are also 15 Magic Shoe Collectibles that are a tad bit less obvious. Each scene has a Zoom-Zone Moonstone Collectible of varying amounts (with the exception of the final scene in the BC) The Moonstones are used to purchase 15 Magic Potions Ingredients. The Collectibles and Morphing Objects are available throughout the Main Games as well as the Bonus Chapter (CE version)
Hidden Object Scenes: There are 12 Hidden Object Scenes +5 in the CE Bonus Chapter with an optional Match 3 Game available. The scenes aren't very creative, in fact, the #7 HOP required you to find an object that would be created if you combined the 2 Silhouetted Shapes (sun + Glasses=__) and I was able to correctly pick all but 1 item without looking at the Combo Silhouettes shown! There are several variations offered such as Interactive Listed Items, Keywords in Sentence Finds, Listed Multiples of Item Finds, Find & Replace Items, Combo Finds, Spot the Difference Finds, and a Follow the Recipe Find HOP.
Mini-Games: There are 20 Mini-Games +9 in the CE Bonus Chapter, most of which can be played in an Easy or Hard difficulty mode. Domini did a terrible job with the instructions, in my opinion, simplistic puzzles would have detailed instructions while complex puzzles would contain one line that didn't explain anything?? Below are brief descriptions of some of my personal favorite puzzles from the game.
1-Chose paths 1-3 at the correct time to sneak past the guards. 2-Use directional arrows to pick up the gems scattered around the board and place them into their slots in the center. (gems or groups will cling to the central gem) 3-Swap lock sections from the left and right to complete the openings. 4-Use directional arrows to guide the pointer through the maze to unlock 3 different lock pins. 5-Drag various vials & toppers to place them into square grids w/o overlapping objects. 6-Select golf balls that move in varying speeds in the correct order so they all reach their holes at the same time.
Bonus Chapter: (Collector's Edition version only) A Fairy Godmother's work is never done! The Fairy Godmother receives an urgent phone call from Charlotte. one of the students she met at the college, who believes something terrible has happened to her Grandmother Amanda. This is a fairly-lengthy chapter that takes place over 9 Scene Locations with 9 additional Mini-Games and 5 Hidden Object Scenes, You will pick up the remaining 4 Morphing Magic Devices of Fairyland, 5 Magic Shoes, and 8 Moonsouls (of various amounts (one moonsoul may be worth 1 or 3) which allows you to purchase the final Potions.
Collector's Edition Extra's 10 Wallpapers (all with uninteresting characters) 10 Concept Art Pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks. 27 Cutscene Movie Videos, 17 Replayable Mini-Games, 17 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 18 Achievements to Earn. 15 Morphing Magic Devices of Fairyland, 15 Magic Shoes. 53 Moonsouls (used to purchase Ingredients for Potions) 6 Main Chapters +Bonis Chapter, and a Built-In Strategy Guide.

Did she just throw me a bone? Within the walls of the Hawa Mahal, known as the Palace of Wind, are a thousand windows. One of those windows leads to a parallel universe where animals truly are king. The animals have lived in peace for many years because of a single human inhabitant, Princess Manu who was raised by the Jungle Queen elephant, Nanda. Peace is a difficult thing to keep, however, especially when legends speak of a human prophecy that ends with human triumph. Seekers have come and gone throughout history, but this time, a Seeker fulfills an ancient prophecy!
Gαԃɠҽƚʂ/Hҽʅρҽɾʂ: I'm happy to report that there are NO Gadgets or Helpers :)
CσʅʅҽƈƚιႦʅҽʂ/Mσɾρԋιɳɠ OႦʝҽƈƚʂ (CE Vҽɾʂισɳ σɳʅყ): Domini always does collectibles and morphs right, they are small, appropriately themed, and morph at a good pace, and you can enable/disable the Collectible Tabs and choose whether or not to show them on the Map as well. There are 15 Morphing Animal Figurines, 15 Stone Plates, and 70 Zoom Zone Butterflies (FYI: also available in Zoom Zone HOP's) that are used to purchase 15 Tree House Boudoir Decorations.
Hιԃԃҽɳ OႦʝҽƈƚ Sƈҽɳҽʂ: There are 18 Hidden Object Scenes +7 in the CE Bonus Chapter and an alternate Match 3 Game available. The scenes are bright and colorful and fairly interesting although the objects themselves are easily spotted. There are Interactive List Finds, Silhouetted Shape Finds, Keywords in Sentence Finds, Spot the Difference Finds, Multiples of Objects Finds and one of my favorite scenes was a Keyword variation where you must find objects to fill in the blanks by finding objects that match 2 combined Silhouetted Shapes.
Mιɳι-Gαɱҽʂ: There are 17 Mini-Games +10 in the CE Bonus Chapter. You choose to play them in an Easy or Hard difficulty mode and you can choose which mode to have them start out in the Custom Setting (you can still switch between modes for each individual game) Below are brief descriptions of some of my personal favs:
1-Fill the central flask w/the correct amount of liquid using 2 other flasks to fill & empty. 2-Use directional arrows to move plants onto fire squares by using obstacles to block. 3-Place elephant figures on a chessboard so there are no duplicates vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. 4-Manipulate 2 keys through a maze to open locks.
Bσɳυʂ Cԋαρƚҽɾ (CE Vҽɾʂισɳ Oɳʅყ) Return to the thick of the jungle playing as Princess Manu as she goes head to trunk with an Ancient Elephant (ya can't choose your family, right?) This is a very lengthy chapter spanning over 10 beautiful scenes with 10 additional Mini-Games and 7 Hidden Object Scenes. You will continue your search for the final 4 Stone Plates, 5 Morphing Animal Figurines and 70 Zoom Zone Collectible Butterflies which allows you to purchase the final Tree House Boudoir Decorations.
Cσʅʅҽƈƚσɾ'ʂ Eԃιƚισɳ Exƚɾαʂ: 20 Wallpapers, 20 Concept Art Pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, 32 Movie Video Cutscenes, 39 Achievements, 20 Replayable Mini-Games, 18 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 15 Morphing Animal Statues, 15 Stone Plates, 70 Butterflies, 15 Tree House Decorations (decorate boudoir using Butterflies as currency) 6 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a Built-In Strategy Guide.

My apologies to PQ for my rating, you guys are awesome but my Trip to New York wasn't very fun :( Perhaps after playing the previous Three Seasons Around The World it was just too familiar, therefore it was boring, but I found myself feeling like playing the levels was a dreaded chore as I struggled to finish the demo to give a fair assessment of the game? The tile images were bland and unappealing and certainly didn't remind me of New York, nor did the lack of curb appeal help with my feeling of dread. I'm just being honest in hopes that it will help in making improvements to the next Match 3 game.
You can play in an Easy Mode of difficulty which has no Timer and quick charging hints and skips, a Medium Mode and a Hard Mode which doesn't allow you to Skip mini-games and has a slow Hint recharge and less time to finish the levels. There are 128 Match 3 Levels and 16 Mini-Games available.
Large Matches will reward you with Bombs on the field that can be matched to create an explosion. There are bonus tiles that appear such as Butterflies, Eagles, Salmon and Sparrows that can be collected with a single click, and once the Icon has been filled, you can use that Power-up to destroy tiles in different formations such as a snowflake formation, an X formation or a 2-tile Radius.
As you progress, Obstacles are added to make things more challenging, with the usual Chains & Double Chains, Mist covered areas, Wooden Blocks, and Stone Walls which take 3 matches to destroy them, basically the same features as the other 3 Seasons. Each Level requires you to clear all of the Gold Cells by making matches over them at least once.
As you progress, you have to collect keys to unlock the Chest, Shovels to uncover the Snow, etc. Once you have collected the required tiles, you grab that item from the bottom right icon and drag it to the correct place. These items are collected as Keepsakes from your virtual trip to New York.
There are 16 Mini-Games offered to break up the monotony of Match 3 levels such as coloring a Magazine Cover with the correct color. There doesn't seem to be anything different than the other 3 Season games in this series, so I'll pass on this one.

If you are a Mahjong fan this game is definitely worth trying because it's colorful, the tiles are large, it has customizable settings, nice board layouts, and an interesting Lock & Key feature. Mahjong is my least favorite genre, however, if it's a very challenging game such as this developer's Legendary Slide series, I thoroughly enjoy them. Unfortunately, I breezed through 30 or so levels during the demo and earned 3-Stars on the first attempt because they were super-easy layouts. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that because there are 108 levels, they will eventually get trickier?
This developer always has a custom settings tab that allows you to choose the Mahjong Tile graphics which includes the Fish/Sea theme, a Number theme, a Spring theme, and 3 Traditional Mahjong Tile themes. You can also choose between 4 Tile Border colors, Square or Rounded Tile Edges, a Multi-Colored Layers option, and 3 different Background Themes. The tiles are large and easy to see, and I thought the Ocean-themed tiles were bright and colorful.
The Goal is to earn 3-Stars by matching unblocked identical tiles, (Season & Coral tiles can be matched with any other Season or Coral tile) The level will end when you remove the two Special Tiles so you need to remove all other tiles first or keep an eye on the Star Meter to make sure you have earned all 3 stars beforehand.
There is an Undo Feature, a feature to Show or Hide Available Tiles, and a Hint & Shuffle feature available. Using any of these features will deduct points (-500 to Shuffle!) but that doesn't make sense to me because the points seem to be moot. I reshuffled a level 3 times on purpose before earning 500 points but I still earned 3-Stars so what's the point of points? Can I purchase anything with them?
There is a Lock & Key feature that was this games' saving grace. When you uncover Key Tiles you can choose which Lock to use them on which blows away the Sand that blocks a portion of the board, otherwise, the levels are far too easily solved and it would become boring because of the lack of challenge.

Elven Legends is, and probably always will be on my top personal favorite Time Management Games list. It has one of the few storylines I actually read and enjoy (on TM games) I've followed a young Princess Aerin as she discovered her magical abilities and grew up to lead her Kingdom's people. She met and married Tillian and eventually, they became proud parents to Princess Sonja who is now a somewhat rebellious teenager. I was a little upset that this wonderful story took a hard right and practically erased Queen Aerin from the plot, so I am delighted that she has returned to try to tighten the reigns on her mischevious daughter.
Most Collector's Edition versions of TM games aren't worth the extra price tag, but I დ LOVED დ all the collectibles offered on the CE version and if at all possible I recommend the CE over this SE version. The CE version has 60 Gears and 60 Puzzle Runes to collect and my personal favorite, 60 Now-You-See Them, Now-You-Don't Morphing Gremlins! What's even better is that you can replay any level to just search for the collectibles without messing up your star-rating (you can finish the level and then re-enter the level to just click on the collectibles w/o actually re-playing the level, and then exit to the map, the stars you earned the 1st time will stay the same) I just wish there was an indicator on the map to show which collectibles have been found, or not found.
Elven Legend games are strategy-based Time Management games requiring you to queue your tasks in a specific order. You can play in a Relaxed mode with no timer, a Normal, or a Professional Mode of difficulty, and you can replay the levels as often as necessary. In the CE version, there are 38 Achievements to earn across 50 Levels +10 in the CE Bonus Chapter (Elven Capital-Gremlin Dimension-World of Forest-Elven Kingdom-Star World & CE Land) Bonus Icons become available that help you beat the levels, such as Worker's Speed, Add Workers, Double the Production of Resources, Speed up Work Production or even Increase the number of Existing Resources.
There are the normal TM tasks of collecting food, water, wood, stone crystals, etc. and the same tasks of clearing the roads by repairing bridges and filling in pits along the way. Princess Sonja has the ability to animate non-living objects and her best friend Napej the faun is her mischevious sidekick. On each level, the girls meet various new allies to help them overcome the level obstacles, like Griffins and Goblins.
There are several Altars of Resources that continually produce resources of food, lumber, crystals, and water, over a period of time. Magical Trees produce wood, but they will first require Water before they will regrow and produce lumber, Waterwells can be constructed on most levels or reproduced on altars, and some levels have Water towers that produce a limited amount of water You will need to construct different buildings as well as upgrade them to produce various resources such as Farms to produce food, Workers House's to hire extra workers, Sawmills for wood, Mines to produce magic Crystals, Labs to produce Philosopher's Stones as a source of Princess Sonja's magic.
Collector's Edition Extra's: 8 Wallpapers, 8 Concept Art Pictures, 38 Achievements, Top 10 Scores, 60 Puzzle Rune Stones (10 purple, 10 yellow, 10 blue, 10 orange, 10 green, 10 pink) 60 Gears, 60 Morphing Gremlins, 5 Chapters with 50 Levels, Bonus Chapter with 10 Extra Levels, and a Built-in Strategy Guide.
