Boom Zap did my favorite series of all time: The Dana Knightstone games. I thought this would be similar, but it is just a pale ripoff of their old series. Please bring back Dana Knightstone! Those games pull you in and provide some fun puzzles along the way. The storyline in this game is okay, but Dana Knightstone storylines are far superior. All this game did is make me want to replay all of my old Dana Knightstone games. It did not make me want to buy or play this one. Really disappointing for me.
This would have been a definite buy for me if it had not been timed. It is different and not a carbon copy of every other game. I like how unique it is, and I like the artwork. I just wish it hadn't been timed. Maybe I'll buy it, even though the timer reduces the enjoyment of the game considerably, but I haven't decided.

I might have enjoyed this if it had a relaxed mode. As it was, the items are small and the descriptions are confusing. I don't like losing stars! Especially when the fault it the developers. The items needed less confusing descriptions, and the objects needed to be larger. Those issues made the game stressful instead of enjoyable. I'm not going to play a game that is stressful. I think I would have loved this game if it had added a relaxed mode.
This game was too frustrating in places, as well as boring, with an all-too familiar story line for me to enjoy. One of my favorite puzzles is mixing the right amount of a liquid by pouring from one container into another. I was really excited to see that particular mini-game in this. However, it was so poorly executed by the developers that it just turned into total frustration. I ended up skipping it, and I really don't like to skip a mini-game. I just closed out the game after that and don't intend to go back. I'd given it several second chances, and that was the last one for me. I wish I'd gotten something else. This just wasn't a fun game for me. In fact, it even put me in a bad mood for awhile. I play games to relax. Not stress out.
I have not really enjoyed these games for the past two or three years, but I get them because I love the kittens in the bonus game. The main game is hit or miss, and this one was a miss for me. I did not like Glu and found him annoying, so I was really disappointed to get to the bonus game and realize I had to put up with him some more or quit. If I'd known the kittens were not in the bonus game, I would have gotten the standard edition. I probably should have read the reviews.
There were some challenging puzzles, and the art work and music are beautiful, but I still found this game boring and derivative.
Grab some cards and keep cool in the shade. It’s time for a picnic and a game of Solitaire! Explore more than 300 levels and restore 5 beautiful summer escapes!
Several changes to this have ruined this game for me. One is the cost of items in the shop. I didn't like that, but what made it even worse is that things like "remove selected" have to recharge. Wish I'd noticed that before I bought this. I would not have purchased it if I had. I really wish I had saved my game credits for something else. Very dissatisfied with this one. I had to fight myself not to click one star on everything.
This is like playing a Nancy Drew game without Nancy. It also reminds me of "The Silent Age." The game is definitely a challenge, and tasks are not immediately obvious. It's been a lot of trial and error. I found the controls confusing at first, and I kept hitting "game over" early on. One thing that was confusing was how to save the game. Then I realized I needed to hit escape and click save. If you don't do that, you'll have to start from the beginning when you go back again. I soon figured things out. It has me completely absorbed, and very few games do that anymore. It's not for everyone, though. I can see how this would annoy and frustrate a lot of people. I was certainly annoyed and frustrated after my first attempt. I almost didn't go back. I'm so glad I gave this a second chance because I love it now. Can't wait for more from this series. I've always been a fan of Goosebumps, and this has that "Goosebump" vibe. Perfect for me. Give it a chance and see if it's for you.
I play a lot of games, but I don't review a lot of games. However, I have a couple of reasons for reviewing this one. First, Microsoft Visual C++ needed a repair, which failed. The game still played. Thank goodness. I love Vacation Adventure games and find them a great way to relax. However, the issue with C++ has happened on the last few Vacation Adventures games, so I wonder what gives. It's getting annoying, so I took off one star for that.
Second is a shout out to Pennmom36. Her reviews are amazing, and I often choose a game based on what she wrote. I was sorry to hear about her recent house fire and the loss of her beloved Loki. So thank you to Pennmom36 for the wonderful reviews, and my condolences for the terrible losses you've experienced. I pray for better days ahead.
Thanks Big Fish for letting me reach out to a fellow Big Fish gamer!
The logic puzzles were my favorite part of the game, and they were challenging. I wrote down the clues as I played the solitaire/mahjong portions; so by the time I got to the actual logic puzzles, I'd put a lot of the facts together. I found it helped me when I played the actual puzzles. The other parts of the game were a little tedious, but the logic puzzles made up for that. I liked the first one in this series, and I liked this one even more. I hope there will be more of these in the future -- but not quite so far in between.

They have addressed some of the player complaints. There were 20 levels and 10 new backgrounds. And that's a big improvement. The boards were beautiful, and I enjoyed them very much. My only reason for giving it four stars instead of five was that they still don't allow the whole board to be cleared. It's very frustrating to get the last special card and have bonus cards on the table or numerous left over cards. I wish we at least had the option of playing all of the cards. Other than that, I really enjoyed this game.
