Based on hour-long demo. This is visually a beautiful game, but the positives stops there.
I first marked Level of Challenge good because it really makes you think. But the challenge was so frustrating I downgraded it to poor because where is the challenge when there are so many obstacles?
Main obstacle is the hint button. While is works normally within the HOS it gives false clues. It points to things that need to be done but you don't have the inventory item to solve it! Whose bright idea was that?
There is a walk through and my advise to you is to open it before starting the demo and alt-tab to it so you can return to it quickly.
BF offers an hour-long demo, a walk through, a forum, and previous reviews. I like to use them all before making a decision on whether or not to purchase. I will not be purchasing.
I don't recommend this game.

Theatre of Shadows: As You Wish
Become a Hunter of darkness to cope with possessed owner of theater and revived shadows. Help other people by correcting their wrong fulfilled wishes!
I didn't play this game more than 20 minutes until I was ready to quit -- I'd had it!
It did have 3 things I like in a HOG, an interactive map, a hint button that gives hints outside the HOS and a walk through. That wasn't enough to keep my interest as I had to use the hint button a lot. And I played Casual mode. I have no idea how someone played the Extreme mode.
This game got bad reviews in 2012 and it hasn't improved. I like games that pull me along. I got tired of ready dialogue (no voice overs) and not having clear instructions. I just wasn't getting any where. If you are the least bit ADD you are in trouble LOL.
BF gives us a generous hour to preview a game. It won't take you that long to decide whether you love it, like the majority, or hate it, like me.
I don't recommend this game.

Heroes from the Past: Joan of Arc
Take a journey through medieval times. Help Joan of Arc to build a new kingdom and change the fate of the people in this epic story of honor and courage.
I played about 20 minutes of the demo and that was enough for me to decide this game isn't for me.
While it has the ability to set custom modes, this wasn't enough to make me continue to play.
What I did play were 2 puzzles, each I skipped. And I didn't play any HOS because there weren't any presented in that time frame. I picked up a few items and only used the key to get into the front door.
Something about this game isn't right. Therefore a no buy for me.
Read some of the reviews and play the demo to make up your own mind.
I don't recommend this game.

Phenomenon: City of Cyan
20 years ago a terrible accident destroyed most of Cyan City. Now, Monica returns to uncover the secrets of her childhood!
This review is based on the demo, which I don't normally do, but thought I could add some information I didn't see in the reviews I read.
There is a strategy guide for this SE which is usually meant for only the CE. It doesn't have a walk through and it doesn't give hints outside the HOS, but having the strategy guide (SG) eliminates the need for either.
In the demo I did notice the SG didn't return to the last page I had checked so keep track of your page number.
The map shows areas where there is something to do but it doesn't transport so the SG will be useful if you get stuck.
As I played the demo in 2 installments a couple of months apart, I can only remember what I saw today of a interactive puzzle where you are given detail instructions on what to do in the scene and if you get stuck you can use the hint button to show the instructions again. It was very easy but fun.
There are lots of pretty objects to find and I loved the scenery and the story very much. I really liked the characters who are well drawn and very believable.
I'm using a free coupon I earned by being a member of BF Game Club. If you purchase a lot of games this is well worth the monthly charge and you can opt out at any time.
I really think you should give this a chance. Having a strategy guide really sold this for me.
Thank you for reading my review and I hope it was helpful. Good gaming fishes.
I recommend this game!

Based on about 40 minutes of the demo, I've decided not to buy because the hidden objects are either too small or are so distorted with grime or whatever to locate. Too frustrating for me. I like pretty things not a bunch of dirty junk!
I hated the music! It was monotonous and during the HOS it was too excitable. Ridiculous IMHO.
As always play the demo and read some of the reviews.
I don't recommend this game.

Nightmares from the Deep: Davy Jones
Escape the cold incarceration of Davy Jones' brig and discover the otherworldly origins of his galleon in this thrilling Hidden Object adventure!
This review is based on finishing the SE in the casual mode.
I really loved playing this game. The scenes were beautiful - kind of Cinderella looking. At least one reviewer highly disagrees but I like looking at beautiful things and this game has it.
I did turn down the volume, usually do, but what I heard of the music was nice and voiceovers good.
This is a very easy game, where objects you find are generally used within a few scenes. There is a terrific map which shows where things can be done and it transports you there.
The hint button gives free directional arrows and recharges quickly. It, of course, points to something to find or do.
There are a lot of HOS consisting of lists and fragmented items. In these 2 types of HOS you also have the option of play Mahjong instead. There is another type of HOS where you find an object, then use it in the scene which leads to another object until finished -- these do not have the option of playing Mahjong. I don't particularly like fragmented HOS so I played Mahjong instead with the exception of 2. I do, however, like lists and found them not too easy, but certainly everything is clearly depicted. There are no cloudy scenes.
There are lots of puzzles which were nothing I hadn't seen before. Used the BF walk through several times as I was unclear what to do. I also skipped a few which weren't my cup of tea.
All in all this was very entertaining. As I always suggest, play the demo and read some of the reviews. I hope you read mine and it's helpful.
I recommend this game!

Mystery of Sargasso Sea
Solve the mystery of the island of abandoned ships in a new classic Hidden Object Adventure game!
If you've read any of the long 5-star reviews you already know the gist of the story, i.e., bad man wants to steal souls and you must stop him before sundown.
For me this game was just okay and I was glad when I finally finished. There is no walkthrough for this game, but if you really get stuck, as I did at the very end of the game, go to the BF Forum. That's always a good place for information. I'd tell you how to solve the ending but that would be spoiling it -- just go to the forum -- lots of people got stuck at the end, as the game stopped giving hints.
The storyline is pretty good.
The visual and sound were appropriate for this type of spooky game. I must admit I did love the accents of all the people and the voice overs weren't too bad -- not perfect -- but we are talking about talking to ghost so all in all I liked it.
There is a map which shows a small image of a scene and it transports you there. However there is no clue as to which scene you need to go to and there are tons of scenes!
There is a wonderful hint button until the very last scene. It gives free directional arrows and highlights areas or items (in a HOS) and takes about 45 seconds to recharge.
There is also a skip button for puzzles if you choose to skip, which I did. I hated the whack-a-snake game and it seemed like forever for the skip button to recharge, so I watched TV for a minute or so. Thankfully there weren't a lot of puzzles and none of them were new to me.
There are many list-style HOS and most are revisited. The objects are mostly easy to find, but one or two objects may be harder to find. There is usually at least 1 object that requires you to move/cut/unlock something to get at it. Nothing new. There is no shame in using the hint button LOL.
There are no collectables or morphing objects and you can't go back and replay any of the puzzles or HOS. Usually these things are limited to CE only, so no disappointment there. And there is no bonus play, which I really would have loved because the game ends very abruptly IMHO.
This review is based on completing the game in the easy of the 2 modes. I always suggest you play the demo and read the reviews. I hope you read mine and find it informative.

Nemo's Secret: The Nautilus
Go on a fun and exciting Hidden Object Adventure and find Captain Nemo’s legendary submarine, the Nautilus!
This is strictly a HO game, meaning each scene has a list of items you find (some extremely hard to see) and then they relocate in the same scene.
There is a lag time between each scene so this game just drags along. There are no voice overs - you have to read the dialogue which is very lame IMO. The music was irritating so I turned off the sound.
I always recommend playing the demos Big Fish offers. This is a no buy for me.
I don't recommend this game.

The Fall Trilogy Chapter 2: Reconstruction
After a fall, you wake up in a building where a contact briefs you for a mission! Complete the mission to find your family!
I never submit reviews on games I don't finish, but this is based on about 45 minutes of the demo, which I always advise doing before purchasing.
I guess I was lost from the beginning, I just didn't get it. Maybe I should have tested chapter 1 of this trilogy before playing this one, but I didn't.
I didn't play any list-type HOS, which I like. Instead I had to find multiples of an item. Most items were very easy to find, albeit some objects are very tiny. Then I was presented with one of the items, e.g., a key card to use to move on in the game.
The game has a 360 degree view of the scenes. I found it time consuming and a bit confusing. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood to play this type of game, which is totally different from any other HOG I've played.
There is a skip button and hints which recharge in a standard manner.
I'm sorry, this doesn't seem to be a very good review, but I didn't like this game and suggest you play the demo. This most likely appeals to some, as there are some positive reviews, but a no buy for me.
