I don't know why this game didn't get better reviews. I think it is a well-produced game with good artwork and music. The story is very interesting with a surprise ending, and the story is well developed during game play. The story has an ending, too, in normal game play. The bonus chapter just adds to the story, although it did have a rather abrupt ending. The journal helps in developing the story. The HOS all include IA, and I thought the puzzles were challenging. The HINT button points you in the right direction, so you don't need the SG. There isn't a map, but there also isn't a huge amount of back-and-forth. In addition to the bonus chapter, there is also unlimited HOS and puzzles to play and the usual wallpapers and concept artwork. I found this to be a very enjoyable game. If you don't want to pay the CE price, I highly recommend at least the SE.
I recommend this game!

The Missing: A Search and Rescue Mystery
A group of college students have gone missing from a remote island in the Pacific Ocean. You are called in to rescue them, but nothing is as it seems.
I bought this game based on playing and liking the next in this series, Island of Lost Ships. Big mistake! This is one of the worst games BF has offered. Very amateurish artwork and game play, and the story is lame to say the least. The in-game HINT button flashes a picture of where to go as if you can remember what every place looks like. There is a map, but it isn't IA and is virtually useless.
Shakespeare must be rolling in his grave after the developers of this game butchered his work, especially after throwing Dorian Gray into the mix. Give me a break! Just plain awful. Game play was OK with the usual, for this developer, tons of objects needed. The HOS are all replace items, and the puzzles are OK. The HINT button works well during game play, so you really don't need a SG. Lots of back-and-forth, and although I saw that others found a map, I didn't see it. Could have saved my clicking finger a lot of effort. Artwork is good, but the VOs aren't. The bonus chapter is long, but it really doesn't add to the story. In fact, it makes it worse - the Dorian Gray bit. I don't recommend the CE version of this game. Maybe the SE.
This is a very well-designed game with a unique concept. You travel to the past through mirrors to search for needed objects, and you hide them where you can find them when you return to the present. The HINT button works well during game play, so you don't need a map, SG, etc. The story is interesting and builds well during the game with a diary. The HOS are the usual, cluttered but OK. The puzzles are fairly easy even though the instructions leave a little to be desired. I found the game to be very fun, and it was a good length.
I recommend this game!

The Missing: Island of Lost Ships
After setting out to search for your missing friend, you find yourself trapped on the mysterious Island of Lost Ships.
The setting and characters in this game are excellent. This is one of the best games I've played from that standpoint. The artwork and music are very good, too. Good VO. Game play is well thought-out without a lot of strange use of objects as in some games. There is a map, that while not IA, it does show where action is needed. The HINT button also points in the direction for action. The HOS are mixed with some words and some silhouettes along with some IA. The puzzles are easy to difficult with a fairly fast charging SKIP. I found this game to be a joy to play and hated to see it end.
Louis the Clown and Mr. Dudley are back in an all-new adventure! Travel through the dark corners of history's most famous fairytales to rescue children trapped in a frightening netherworld!
I really enjoyed playing this looong game - very long and involved. It easily deserved five stars except for some annoying technical problems. I had difficulty getting the inventory bar to show, and sometimes the cursor didn't assume the right configuration for the action needed. Other than that, this is a top-notch game. The HOS are the usual as are the puzzles. The HINT button points you in the right direction. There isn't a map, but I think it would be confusing anyway since there is are so many scenes. The story is well told - you save kids who were turned into various fairy tale characters. VO is good. Artwork is good. Just a great game.
Based on playing the demo only, this has got to be one of the dumbest games BF has offered. Really bad story with corny dialog. Barely average artwork. HOS and puzzles are standard fare and easy. I can't imagine paying the CE price for this dog. I wouldn't buy it if it was the deal of the day.
This is a well produced game that is fun to play in part due to the wide range of strange characters you run across. Really clever! Game play is OK with too much back-and-forth for my tastes, but that seems to be the trend, And there are some not so obvious (to me) use of objects. (I would have rated it five stars otherwise.) At least there is a great map that shows where tasks are needed to be done, and it allows jumps. The HINT button also gives exact instructions. The HOS are all reverse - put back objects. The puzzles are mostly simple. Don't judge this game by the demo. It's much more than that and is quite long.
This is a very poorly produced game with amateurish artwork, VO and music. They show saguaro cactus, which only grow in Arizona, in Egypt. Give me a break! Mummies pop up for you to shoot at to get hints. Aw, come on! This is one of the worst BF games I have seen. I couldn't even stand to finish the demo.
If you can ignore the dumb story, this is an enjoyable game. The production is good, and game play is well designed. The HOS and puzzles are pretty standard. The HINT works well during game play, so you don't need an SG. The main game ends well, but the bonus chapter adds to that. One of the extras is a film clip showing the developers at work - interesting. Another extra is a copy of the story on which the game is based in three different formats.
