This could have been an alright and fun game, but it is one of the worst games from BFG that I've played from a technical standpoint. Things don't always work as they should, and at one point, if you don't follow the exact correct actions, the game quits working altogether. To finish the game, I had to start all over again with a different name to get back to where it quit and try again. Terrible.
It also has some of the most bizarre use of objects I've seen that I couldn't figure out without the hint. You destroy plants by every method you can think of and some that you would never think of.
Artwork is average; music worse. The HOS are OK, but the IA part is poorly designed. Puzzles are so-so.
The story is interesting, but is not very well told. As I wrote before, this could have been a fun game, but they dropped the ball.
I don't recommend this game.

The main thing I liked about this game that it isn't the same-old fairy tale that has been descending on us from BFG like a swarm of locusts. Too bad it wasn't better produced. Game play is OK, but it could have been so much better. Navigation is not always the best (no map) with one place that indicates the "sky" while it takes you to an alley. Huh? HOS are the old standard (no IA), and the puzzles are the same. The in game HINT is not all that helpful - "nothing to do here" for the most part. The story is marginally OK, and the characters are worse - poor VO. Still, I enjoyed playing the game. What a refreshing relief from overcoming evil witches.
I recommend this game!

This is yet another story about a witch taking over a kingdom, and you, and only you, can save it. Gag me! To make matters worse, game play is poor with the same-old amulets, etc., to find, the same-old puzzles and HOS, and poor characterizations and VO. Totally boring! I couldn't even make it through the demo.
I don't recommend this game.

This is a well designed and thoroughly enjoyable game. Interesting characters with good VO and with little critters to help you. The story is good and is well told with a journal and an encyclopedia. There isn't a map, but you don't need one. The HINT works well during game play (easy mode). The puzzles are good, and there aren't any HOS. Length of the game seems just right.
I highly recommend this game.

This game is well-produced, with an interesting story and setting. I don't know if the depiction of the setting is true to reality, but it's fun to see regardless.
Game play is good with the exception of too much back-and-forth. To make matters worse, there is a map that shows objectives, but it isn't a jump map. I had problems at times following the map - looks like I ought to go left; oops, wrong. I had to keep going to the map just to figure out where I was - the locations are not identified on the map.
The HOS are all IA and fairly easy. The puzzles are the same-old.
If you don't mind all the rambling around, I think you will enjoy this game. I did.
I recommend this game!

I played the demo, and I thought that this would be a really good game. Wrong! It's all downhill after the demo. Talk about bait and switch! The story looked like it might be interesting, but, again, only in the demo. The story is totally nonsensical with one of the worst "evil creature" renderings I have ever seen. The journal isn't updated often, either.
Game play is short and not much fun. HOS are all very IA, which others like, but that I find annoying. The puzzles are easy and boring. Another annoying feature to me that others go bonkers over (go figure) is all the so-called "collectables". There are all these different objects that if you click on them, a dialog box comes whizzing out to give you an "Atta boy". Super annoying! Adds nothing, zero, nada to the game - only a distraction. To add to the annoyance, the box comes whizzing out if you solve a puzzle, finish a HOS, anything and everything. And, you get points! I guess so you can brag to your friends about how good you are. Gag me!
Two good things about game play - there is a jump map with actions indicated and the HINT button works well.
It seems as though the developers forgot that they weren't making an arcade-type game where high scores are the object and were supposed to be making a HOPA game. This is a very poor attempt at a HOPA game that is certainly a waste of money as a CE and I wouldn't even recommend paying the SE price. I liked the little kitty cat, but nothing else.
I don't recommend this game.

The story starts out like it will be interesting - find the missing animals. But, turns out, they have little to do with the plot. In fact, there really isn't a coherent plot although an attempt is made.
Game play is poorly designed. Weird use of objects; bad and easy puzzles; HOS that are all IA and some that are silhouettes and have puzzles within them; no map; HINT button not helpful. Not much fun to play, really.
Artwork is the standard for this developer and is OK. The music is the same they use in all their games, and is really atrocious. I wonder if they have tried ITunes?
Others seemed to like the game, so I might have missed something. That would be easy to do with this boring, sleep-inducing game.
I don't recommend this game.

This has got to be right up there near the top of the worst games ever list. The story is just plain awful, and, unbelievably, the way the story is told is even worse. Horrible VOs. Lame characters and chatter. I almost couldn't stand to play this thing because of that.
Game play is marginally OK, with lots and lots of back and forth. The HOS include some fragmented objects that I hate - they weren't in the demo. There is an IA map, and the HINT button works well during game play.
I guess if you're an little girl or you wish you were, you might like this game. Otherwise, I don't think so.
I don't recommend this game.

I thought this was a well-designed game. Numerous places to visit, and various ways to get there - glider, elevator, etc. There is a map that shows where action is needed, but it isn't IA. The HINT button works well pointing you in the right direction. The HOS include just about one of everything - words, pictures, put-back, even fragmented objects and HOS within HOS. Very well done. I thought the puzzles were good and varied. A SG is also available in the game, but I never used it.
I thought the production was good, too. Good artwork, interesting scenes, etc. I didn't find the VO to be all that bad as did others.
The "but", which keeps me from giving this a five star, is mainly the story. It seemed to be good at first with an interesting concept, but it is almost as if the producers lost interest along the way. The story got choppy and then, boom, like that, it ended without making any sense. Very poorly done. Another thing to be aware of is that the first time you visit a scene, all the objects available there may not be available until later, which was kind of annoying to me.
I recommend this game!

This is a well-produced game with live actors and good artwork. Game play is also well-designed without a whole lot of back-and-forth and with not many nonsensical uses of objects. The HOS all include IA and are pretty standard for quality. The puzzles are the standards, too.
There is a map that allows jumping, but it doesn't tell you where action is needed. The HINT button works well during game play pointing you in the right direction. It doesn't tell you exactly what to do, but I like that.
My only complaint about the game is the story. On the surface, it seemed like it would be interesting, but it is poorly told and full of gaping holes. The ending is very bad and abrupt - maybe the CE does better? There is a journal, but it almost seems like an after thought. It does store cut scenes, so you can go back and look at these.
If you can ignore the poor story, this is a fun game.
I recommend this game!
