This is a really cute game with a nice story and adorable, hand-drawn graphics. In spite of its cuteness, it isn't a cake-walk. There are a few hard puzzles to solve in this game. There are lots of little interactive details and funny sound effects that add to its charm.
If you're bored with hidden object games, and longing for something more like a classic adventure game, this is a can't miss. It's long, too, so a lot of play for your money.

There's nothing wrong with this game, but I still got bored about half way through it. I think there just wasn't enough story to make me care about the characters. It's light on hidden object scenes, heavy on having to trace a shape with your mouse, and a handful of mini-games. One of these, a linking game, made no sense to me even after seeing the completed puzzle. There is just endless running around trying to find a "key" shaped like that slot it goes into. Just like a thousand other games. Evil has spread across the land and it's up to you to wipe it out, just like in a thousand other games. With the name of the game, I expected there to be more doors and door puzzles. I always hope for good story lines and really treasure those games that have them. This wasn't one of them. Still, it's a decent way to kill a Sunday afternoon.

The artwork and sounds are average, the voiceovers are okay, and the story didn't have any supernatural elements which I count as a plus. It is a fairly long game with lots of locations and a jump map to quickly move between them. There was a nice variety of hidden object scenes and a fair amount of mini-games.
Unfortunately, there were a lot of shaped indentations that needed a shaped "key" to unlock. I'd really like to see the developers get away from those and use something more realistic and believable. There are also a lot of tools you pick up, use once, and then toss away, only to need something similar later in the game.
I recommend the game if you can put up with the shaped keys and disposable tools.

... there were a number of problems with it. First the translation was often horrible which made it difficult to understand what the characters were trying to say. Second, the mini-games often lacked instructions so you didn't even know what you were supposed to do, let alone how to do it. Third, there were some very difficult puzzles and one that was impossible and had to be solved by luck rather than skill (because it moved faster than the graphics could draw the parts).
That said, the artwork is adorable, the sound is good although there are no voiceovers. Some of the puzzles were fun and challenging which was refreshing.
I guess I was hoping for more humor than there was. If you're hungry for an adventure game, give it a try. There is a youtube walkthrough out there if you really get stuck, and most (not all) mini-games can be skipped as a last resort.

I could manage the side to side scrolling. I don't mind FROGs. The few HOS's were okay once you realize you have to move your cursor to the bottom of the items list in order to scroll down in the screen, and the clunky cursor and inventory were workable. The puzzles however were often undecipherable and had no instructions whatsoever. Most had a skip button, but not all. Some require the use of clues you have to write down that are found throughout the game. This is standard fare for adventure games so I wouldn't normally complain, but even with my monitor's screen brightness turned all the way up, there were lots of clues I was never able to see even though the walkthrough says they were there. They are randomized, so you need them. This makes the game almost unplayable. In a few cases, I just used trial and error until I happened upon the solution. Also, if relying on the Hint system to find invisible fragments, you might be out of luck as it sometimes decides to point you to something else, like where an action is needed, so you might not be able to find all the fragments of a needed object.
We so rarely get a real adventure game here that it's with a sad sigh that I say I can't recommend this game. Pass it by.

rather than a polished product. The dialog is poorly translated, the HOS's are dark with the items hard to see and sometimes with mistakes in the item list, and I didn't have a clue what to do most of the time. Thank goodness for the hint button or I would never have made it through the game. One thing I did find interesting was the inclusion of several walkthrough HO scenes. You go through the scene to another screen with things to do, then back through the scene on your way out.
After slogging my way through this game, I have to sayI didn't enjoy it at all.

As you move through the game you pick up various useful items, just like most games. However, in this game you don't pitch your knife over your shoulder the first time you use it. All the useful items stayed in my inventory until there was no longer a need for them through the end of the game. I so wish more developers would do this.
Yes, there are certainly endless keys to be found but the puzzles aren't bad and the hint and skip work well. The only flaw I could find is that in a HOS when you need to use one item on another, only one item is shown by using the hint. For instance, I knew I needed a pen but couldn't find anything to write on and the hint only points out the pen.
Aside from that this is a decent game I think is worth playing.

I liked the first one in the series and this one is very similar. The hint system is very poor and the puzzles are hard to impossible. One required my fast-fingered son and a touch-screen monitor, otherwise it was not do-able at all. If you are tired of puzzles that offer not challenge, this is a great game for you. I hate to skip puzzles but had to in this game several times. Other than the hint system and puzzle difficulty, this is a fun game with pleasant music and interesting locations. I did not have any performance issues. The forum helped me out a couple of times, so that's a good resource but there is no walkthrough out there anywhere.

This game resembles the old Monkey Island games but with more spelling irregularities and a little less funny. Similar style and music. No voice-overs. This really should have been part of the first episode to make a small, but more complete game. If you don't mind the short length, it's a fun real adventure game (not a hidden object game).
You won't find a hint or skip button here, and you have to remember to save your game as there are ways to get totally stuck if you make the wrong decision. This is the way adventure games used to be, and I, for one, am thrilled to find one here at Big Fish.
It's a big, long game, all 3D so you can pan around and look everywhere. There are some things that don't work until you have done something else first, and some that are fussy about details. Luckily, Big Fish has a pretty good walkthrough, and what you can't find there, you can in the forum. All the clues are there if you get stuck.
The story is well-developed and I didn't know how it would end, which is a treat! The only downside is that this is a difficult game and may put some new adventurers off the genre. There are still plenty of others out there that aren't so fussy, but still long and challenging (Syberia, for one).
If you're an old adventurer like me, or just tired of all the hand-holding, I think you should give this one a try.
