You just go from one room to another doing HOS's which repeat. Many items were just plain tiny. There are very few puzzles and what there were, were extremely easy. The whole game was very short, about three hours tops. There are no voiceovers and the ambient sounds/music(?) were irritating. The game froze up twice and I had to restart it, but it did remember where I left off, so nothing lost. One item was called "Clue" which had me baffled, but it turned out to be glue.
Unless you want to do straight hidden object scenes, I would pass this one by.

The voice acting is top notch as are the sound effects and music, although the repeating jazz got to me after a while. It's just not my favorite genre of music. It is well done.
The story drives all the action and the puzzles make sense. I didn't have to skip any--they were all pretty easy.
The game ran smoothly without a single glitch. The only error I saw was them calling a violin bow a "fiddle". Oh, and they never seem to give you the right kind of screwdriver but it works anyway.
I got about four hours of play out of it, maybe a little less, so not the longest game but very entertaining. These Cadenza games all seem to be really well made, and well thought out.

There is a decent story through the whole game that ties all the actions together, and it progresses through video cut scenes that have a cinematic quality. There are voice-overs in the beginning of the game, but not through most of it. You read the dialog.
There are a few oddly named hidden objects, like a Fetlock (a horse's ankle) turned out to be a brush. I did have problems using an item in several places where I knew I had the right item and the right place. In one case, I had to click off to one side of the object to get the item to work, but most of the time, you had another action to complete first. After you completed the action, you could come back and the item worked. I did not get stuck anywhere in the game, and no crashes. There were a couple of puzzle types that I have not seen before and I've played over 200 games.
It's a fairly long game so you get your money's worth in game play. It's not outstanding in any area, but a good solid, entertaining game that I would recommend.

This game has a kind of old feel about it. The characters are 3D and their lips move when they talk, which I like, but they don't match what's being said in English.
There are a few odd things... Newly acquired inventory items show up in random places in the inventory bar, mostly to the far left but not always. There are some items that are misnamed but nothing that caused any difficulty playing the game. There are many objects that need keys, both regular and shaped, and unfortunately, my least favorite thing--poking a key out the other side of a lock with an awl. Just so tired of that one. Most of the puzzles are pretty solvable, but I admit to skipping one with two interlocking circles.
There are times you keep a tool after using it once, which was encouraging, but unfortunately, you throw it away at some point and need one again later in the game. Come on, if you have a knife, hang on to it for Heaven's sake.
There are a couple of places where you had to persistently click all over to find where an inventory item goes (when you know it goes there somewhere). One puzzle near the end needed a missing piece but clicking the empty spot didn't do it, clicking the middle of the puzzle didn't do it, finally clicking on a not-missing piece did the trick. I stuck with it and was able to play the whole game with no crashes or dead ends.
The hint button, along with one that highlights active areas and one that brings up the menu, can be accessed by moving your mouse near the top of the screen (they drop down temporarily). You can move back either by clicking near the bottom of the screen (as in most games) or clicking a "back" arrow button in the bottom right corner.
The story was decent and kept you motivated to keep moving, but it does end on something of a cliff-hanger, so don't expect all the loose ends to be neatly tied up. There is a helper character who is identified near the end.

Okay, time travel has been done before, but I liked the mix of characters thrown together through time in this game. The visuals were good quality, with many interesting locations. The background sound effect fit each scene, and the music was nice and not too repetitive. The voice overs were mostly good, but some were a little off. Tesla had a weird accent, for one.
You have a helper and he gets progressively more powers as you go through the game. I was waiting for him to realize his power was far greater than mine and stage a revolt, but it never happened. Some of the puzzles didn't seem to work quite right (finding a path along lines without going over any twice) and some were just too fiddly and time consuming, but most were doable.
Overall, it was entertaining and I would recommend it as a pleasant way to spend an afternoon.

Others do a great job of detailing most of this game, but when considering the extra price of a CE, I always want to know about the bonus chapter. I don't care much about all the extras, but I don't want to miss out on a chunk of the story. This bonus chapter is about 90 minutes long and takes place when the two magicians were still boys, learning their trade. You help them complete a task by playing both boys in turn.

I really enjoyed this game. It had several characters to interact with and learn about, so you weren't alone all the time. The voice acting was excellent.
In the bonus chapter, you play as a police detective solving what appear to be murders by vampires. It added about 90 minutes to the game play and there were more masks to find.

There are still the shaped keys to find, but you at least have a cat helper to assist you. There are lots of other characters that help or hinder you along the way, so you're not entirely alone in this game, which I like.
In the bonus game, you play the part of the cat, having to find Lerione. You have your cat night vision and cat claws to help you. I liked seeing the world from the cat's point of view. It added more than an hour of extra play.
So many games consist of you versus evil and they're kind of lonely. In this game there are other characters to help you and for you to care about, which was refreshing. The voiceovers were well done, the game ran without a hitch, and the music fit the scenes and was not monotonous. It was fairly long, as well, so a good solid game without a lot of the overused mechanisms like catching a key pushed out of a lock onto a paper. There are however quite a few shaped lock pieces to find and use. The puzzles were pretty good, and all solvable without too much brain straining. Hidden object scenes varied a lot in type which kept the searches entertaining.
I won't ruin it by giving away what happens, but I like a little more complex story than most hidden object adventures offer and this one delivers to some degree. The voice and visual acting is good, as are the sound effects. I got to play the beta version which was the first part of the game. I'm glad I got to finish the story. Yes, there are shaped keys galore but that's hard to avoid these days. Overall it was an entertaining game.
