An interesting story line. However, one would think that after all the iterations of this game, there would be a seamless transition between scenes. I won't buy the collector's version until the quality of the games improves. I would also like to see the objectives as an option. The objectives are apparent and the windows with objectives are irritating.
I enjoy the Vacation Adventure games and have all of them. However, I will not buy another one that makes you wait 4 1/2 minutes when you don't want to play a game! Most of the games are fun, but several are not. Why the penalty in a "fun" game? It is not fun anymore!
You are in a storm and see a house nearby.... The play is several match games then a HOP. There is little story line. The graphics are not good so items are difficult to see.
This review is based on the demo. Others have described the game elements so I won't repeat them. The story line is interesting and so are the puzzles (although not challenging#. I like the varying numbers of morphing objects, new element (won't give it away), and flow. My only critique thus far is that while the still graphics are very good, the moving graphics are slow and lack clarity. I will definitely buy this game!
You have returned to the town (where everyone knows you) and find a young woman unconscious. After reviving her, you begin a journey to find out about a being that lures people to their deaths. The graphics were ok but the storyline was not that interesting - I did not finish the demo.
I have purchased the past four games. The first game was excellent: the music was good and varied, it was self-paced and not scored, and you could actually see all the items. Each successive game has become more item-dense and the quality is not the same. This game retains the good colors and puzzles of previous games, but takes finding things to a new level of impossibility due to the number of items in a scene and low contrast in many scenes. In at least one of the scenes requiring painting, the brush will not paint certain areas on the edge despite many tries. I like complexity and challenge, but there is not much challenge when the item literally blends into the background (and I have a good video card) or is too small to be seen. In addition to being able to see items better, there should be an option not to score and the flashing in the concentration-type games (it slows down the game). Keep it simple! If you want a pleasurable game, purchase one of the earlier games. .
I look forward to the Christmas game, and this is another great one! The color and art are well done, the music is good, navigation is easy, and the puzzles are fun. Thanks!
I bought this prior to finishing the demo as I always buy these games. However, it is very difficult to see items in this game. Had I finished the demo, I would not have bought the game. While things can be difficult to find, they shouldn't be impossible.
I enjoy this series, and reload the older games to play each holiday season. This game has fairly good graphics, but individual items are often difficult to see. It has the best of several versions. I do wish there was an option to not keep score and just play the game for fun.
Pros: - music much improved, especially the vocals. I had to turn the music off on previous versions - several things to look for in each scene - challenging due to the density of items
Cons: - impossible to see some of the items - unable to turn off scoring
