What a nice game this is and I virtually played it non-stop.
You have:
* Voiceovers; * Diary; * Interactive map; and * A goblin to help you to get items out of your reach.
There are no modes of play, but the game is fairly straightforward and not too hard.
The graphics are very colourful and quite cluttered, but crisp and easy to see objects and items you need.
Sound is good. There were a variety of pieces of music which are all orchestral and quite lovely. I didn't turn it down at all throughout the game.
The hidden object games are interactive silhouette, straightforward, finding 20 axes, etc and some where you put items back. Most of these were relatively easy to do, but there were a few which took me a while. It was very easy to see what items and objects were - no tiny or blurry items.
There were a good range of mini-games to play, and even a couple I had not played before. These ranged from easy to medium to play - so no getting bored or wanting to skip them because they just seem too hard.
The interactive map works well - just as well because you will need it. You will go to approximately 40 locations in total and you will be going backwards and forwards to undertake tasks, so the interactive map is crucial - otherwise its too difficult to remember where every task is to do. However, if you get stuck where to go, just look in the interactive map and it will tell you where tasks are to do - trust me, this is very handy.
All up the game took me about 7 hours to play (not skipping any mini-games) - so very good value for money.
I tried the hint at the very end of the game and it recharged almost immediately.
This game is definitely recommended for all ages as there is nothing scary, violent, religious, etc in it to upset anyone.
I also checked out some other games by this maker, which are:
* Blue Tears; * Hope Lake; and * Dream Hills,
if any fishy is interested. I'm going to check out Blue Tears now which has piqued my interest.
* Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Frost, Snowfall, Blizzard and Custom modes of play; * 15 Achievements (3 in each achievement); * Find 44 crown symbols.
As is the norm, the graphics are just superb - very colourful but crisp and easy on the eye.
Sound is very good and the music is exceptional. As with all Mad Head games, I had the volume turned up with very loud, even with the chanting (I wonder what the neighbours were thinking!).
There were a range of hidden object games - interactive straightforward, silhouette and items to find. Some of them were quite challenging, but not frustrating. Please keep an eye out for the morphing object in each HOS as they can be a bit elusive. If you forget about them, don't worry because you can replay all the HOS in the Extras to earn any additional achievements.
The mini-games were fun and there are plenty of them. I didn't find any that were too challenging, but a few had me going for a while. I enjoyed them.
I didn't use the interactive map at all because you are only going a couple of paces forwards or backwards, so there was no need to use it.
All up the game, bonus and extras took me about 8 hours. Honestly, I could have gone 8 more.
This time I got about 70% or so of the achievements. So I'll go back into the Extras and replay some of the HOS to up it a bit. I've never struck 100% with Mad Head games yet!
So overall, definitely worth your money in buying this game. There is plenty to keep you busy, great graphics and music and a terrific storyline. What more could we want.
Complete dangerous missions amid dazzling landscapes of prehistoric Earth and alien worlds. Can you complete these thrilling puzzles in order to return home?
This is a really good game with lots to do. There is:
* Casual and Difficult modes of play; * Diary; * Interactive map; * 16 Achievements (these are hard to get).
The graphics are good - very colourful but crisp and easy on the eye. You can see long distances away clearly which I liked.
There are no voiceovers, so you have to read everything but there is sound. There were a variety of pieces of music which were all nice.
The hidden object games are straightforward, pictures and silhouette. These were easy to do because they were so clear - no tiny items to find or are too dark to see. I really enjoyed them.
Well, where do I start with the mini-games! There are dozens of them, all with varying degrees of difficulty. Some of these were kill the scorpions, lead the rocket through the plants and get the balls in their right coloured holes. The hardest of them all was killing the flying dinosaurs birds with a machine gun to save the little girl. That was hard - really hard, which took me ages.
The interactive map works well. Also too, if you get stuck on what to do next, just look in the interactive map and it will show you where you have to undertake tasks.
In the extras you can replay all the mini-games and hidden object games again, plus some extras.
Out of the 16 achievements, I managed to get 8, which is rather pathetic. Some of the achievements you have to get in so many moves, which I failed quite miserably. However, I am playing them again in the Extras, so hopefully I can get a few more achievements.
All up the game took me about 7 hours to play - so very good value for money. There is so much to do and I think can be played by all ages.
Definitely comes recommended. Happy playing fishies.
Wow, its been a long time since I played anything like this. In the main game you play Christine Mack (Subject 360) and in the Bonus game you play Howard.
There is:
* Voiceovers; * Test Subject, Escapee, Chosen or Free Will (Custom) modes; * Interactive map; * 15 Achievements (3 in each achievement); * Find 44 swirls; * Extras like a jigsaw puzzle, extra HOS game, etc.
The graphics are sort of dark and grainy, but with plenty of colour - which suited the game well. Everywhere was clear to see.
Sound was very good - ranging from the squeaky voice of the little girl to her natural state which was deep and very creepy. Music was excellent, ranging from orchestral to chanting and even some guitar.
The hidden object games were predominantly straightforward. There is also one morphing object per HOS which had a very good challenge to it because they morphed very slowly. I must admit I did stare at the screen for some time before I found some of them.
The mini-games were great and even a couple I hadn't played before. Some of these had a good challenge but definitely nothing too mind numbing.
You can find the 44 swirls as you play the game and bonus which are not hidden - you just collect them along the way. However, if you don't feel like looking for them while you are playing, then you can do this after you have finished. When you have found them all, you can play a hidden object game.
I found I didn't need to use the interactive map at all throughout the game because you only have to go a couple of steps backwards or forwards, so there was no need for it.
All up the game, bonus and extras took me about 7 hours playing on Chosen mode. The Achievements were harder to get than I thought, so next time I play I'll try and do better.
You can replay the hidden object games to get a better score percentage - which I'm definitely going to do.
So overall a fabulous creepy game which made me jump a few times. Yes, I started this game late Saturday night with the light off - NEVER AGAIN!
Definitely recommend that you play this game now - DON'T FALL ASLEEP!!!!
I loved this game and found it to have a great challenge.
There is:
* Voiceovers; * Stargazer, Astronomer, Cosmologist and Physicist (custom) modes; * Interactive map; * Achievements (some with 3 starts to get in one achievement); * Find 44 rocket collectibles; * Lots to do in the Extras.
The graphics are very colourful and crystal clear.
Sound is very good and the music is mainly orchestral and lovely.
The hidden object games are silhouette and straightforward. Some of these have a good challenge to them which I loved. There is one morphing object per HOS so please keep an eye out for it before you find the last item because you can't go back in the game. You can replay these in the Extras which also shows your percentage of how well you did for each HOS.
There are a huge variety of mini-games and once again some of these had a good challenge to them. What looks to be quite easy can actually take much longer to do than you think - as I found out.
The 44 rocket collectibles are pretty much easy to find. They are not hidden or too small, so you can just pick them up along the way - just check out each scene as you go through.
As usual, it is hard to get all the Achievements - I've never accomplished this yet with Mad Head games, but I'll play the game again down the track and see if I can do better.
All up the game, bonus and extras took me a good 10 hours, playing on Cosmologist (that is with Hint and Skip turned off).
I had a great time playing this game. It has everything I like - brilliant graphics, good challenge and ITS A SI-FI.
Definitely comes recommended. Well done Mad Head Games.
A great challenging game which had me on the edge of my seat the whole time.
There are voiceovers, but you don't have a journal/diary or interactive map, however it is easy to get move around without getting lost or what to do next.
You collect little bugs/fire flies as you move around to use as hints. You will need these and you can collect up to 5 at a time.
The graphics are good - kind of gritty but not too dark. Sound is good and the music is very creepy.
There are no hidden object games in the main game. However, in Dr Haken's Journal, which you can play after you have played the main game, there are timed hidden object games to play for each room. You have 5 minutes to find all the items before you can go to the next room. I loved this and am still playing my way through the rooms.
The mini games range from quite challenging to really hard. These can take a while to do, but if it gets just too hard then you can use your hints to skip the mini-games. I didn't do this, although I did come close a couple of times. So I looked in the walk through online to help.
All up the game took me about 7 hours to play. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I am going to buy 'Campfire - Last Act' to finish off the entire series. Definitely recommended - especially if you want a serious challenge with a great story line.
This game is like reading a horror comic book but you are actually part of it. The developers did a terrific job and hopefully will keep bringing games like this out. This series is just so different from all those cookie cutter games out there, especially if you are in the mood for something different.
That's more like it. The challenge was good and so much more to do. This time you play Edward (the husband of Lynn). There is:
* Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Casual, Normal, Hard and Custom modes (can change any time); * 12 Achievements; * Interactive map; * Find 35 morphing objects; * Find 36 puzzle pieces; * Imp to help you grab items out of your reach.
The graphics are in the usual Witches' Legacy mode - very colourful and quite cluttered. However, you can see everything clearly.
Sound was good. The music was different this time and it was lovely. I had it turned up very loud all the way through the game.
The hidden object games are interactive silhouette and straightforward which you do twice. These are very easy to do and don't take much time.
There is a good variety of mini-games to play which ranged from very easy to quite hard - mainly getting sliding tiles in the right order or to their home base. I've seen these games all before but I did enjoy playing them again.
The 36 puzzle pieces and 35 morphing objects are easy to find as they are not hidden and you just pick them up on your way through each scene. A hand comes over them anyway, so not much chance of missing them. You can check in the interactive map if you accidently miss any - just check for the star with a circle around it. If you have those, then you have got them in that scene.
The 12 achievements are pretty much easy to achieve.
All up the game and bonus took me about 6 hours.
I liked this game and definitely comes recommended.
A very easy game to play with little challenge, even on the Hard mode.
There is:
* Casual, Normal, Hard and Custom modes (can change any time); * Diary; * Interactive map; * 12 achievements; * Find 10 items for the imp (in game and bonus); * Find 35 morphing objects (in game and bonus); * Find 35 puzzle pieces (in game and bonus) to activate the wallpaper.
The graphics are okay - very colourful and quite cluttered. Sound is good. The music is mainly orchestral and quite haunting and lovely.
The hidden object games are slightly interactive silhouette and straightforward which you do twice. These are very easy to do and can be done in under a minute. However, if you don't feel like doing HOS then you play matching pairs instead (yawn).
There were a lot of mini-games to play which ranged from very easy to medium. I've seen them all before - nothing new here. There are lots of sliding tiles, puzzles, etc.
The 35 morphing objects and puzzles are very easy to see. A hand comes over them anyway just in case you don't see them straight away.
The interactive map works well. It also shows that morphing objects and puzzles are in that scene. Once you have found them, then a star with a circle round it appears, so you know you can move on and not worry about having to find them later.
The 12 achievements were very easy to accomplish without much effort.
All up the game and bonus took me about 5 hours playing on Hard and that was doing others things in between.
I'm about to start on "Legacy - The Dark Throne", so hopefully that game will be more challenging.
Definitely recommended for beginners or maybe a lazy Sunday afternoon without using too many brain cells.
Once upon a time in the small, undistinguished town of Silentville people started disappearing. Help uncover the mystery behind these disappearances and save the town from a curse!
I liked this game the more I played it. At first in the beginning I wasn't sure and thought I may have made a mistake, but yes it did get better. There is:
The graphics are quite good. Everywhere is clear to see and there was no problem trying to decipher what items were. Colour was there but was quite muted in a lot of scenes, however that is part of the story.
Sound is good, however there is only one piece of music which drove me bonkers, so I turned it off.
As you go through each scene you will be talking to people to find out what happened to them and what to do next. This doesn't take long and there is not to much talking to make you bored.
The hidden objects game are highly interactive and quite challenging. I enjoyed that. At the beginning these took me a while to do, but as the game progressed I did get faster - you get used to finding what you need. A hand comes over items that need to be placed elsewhere or put with another item, so that helped. There were quite a lot of these to play, so you may need some patience. However, I did get to enjoy these after a while.
The mini-games were actually a lot of fun and I played some that I had never seen before. Some of these were picking flowers (which was quite hard), getting the rocks into the baskets (that was diabolical, but so much fun) and arranging the train tracks, etc. I really enjoyed these mini-games because they were out of the norm.
There is a diary and its best to check in there now and again because it has the answers to some clues.
The interactive map works well. I deliberately used a hint towards the end of the game to see how it worked and it takes you to the place that you need to work out what to do.
All up, the game took me about 5 hours to play. Overall I enjoyed and game. Definitely recommended.
I did not like this game very much and thought it was too easy and childish.
You play a teenager, Caroline Evans, who has to find out what happened to all the parents who have gone missing.
There is:
* Casual, Advanced, Hardcore and Custom modes of play; * Interactive map; * Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Notebook/Journal.
The graphics are okay - very colourful and quite cluttered. However, you can see most scenes fairly clearly.
The hidden object games are interactive silhouette (where you find one item to use to find another item, etc), straightforward and answering questions by finding items. These were incredibly easy and took no time at all.
The mini-games were also very easy and I was able to do all of them in under a minute.
There was no need to use the interactive map at all as you are only moving a couple of steps forward or backward, so it was pointless using it.
All up the game and bonus took me about 4 hours to play. So not a long game.
So, do you get the CE or the SE? In the bonus game you play Andy which took place 10 years earlier. You also have approximately 120 flowers to find and a Secret Room where you can replay the HOS and mini-games again to get to 100%. Boring. I didn't want to replay HOS or mini-games - I wanted something different to get my teeth into.
Overall, I think the game is perfect for kids of between the ages of say 10-15 years, but too young for adults. So I recommend this game on their behalf. For the rest of us, I would give it a wide berth. However, in saying that, I thought the Bonus game was better than the main game. The main game started off just okay but went steadily downhill after that.
Definitely recommend that you trial this game first before buying.
