I bought the SE version because it was on sale, but I have to say that I am very happy with it. I had thought about getting the CE, but this version is long and involved, so I'm not missing out on much. There is one strange thing, though; when Prospero first appears and speaks to the player, the text is completely different from the voice-over, so you really should play with the sound on. The mini-games were not too difficult and I like that. Something I enjoyed, as with the other games from these developers, were the credits at the end. These people have senses of humor. Try this game, and also "Final Cut, Death on the Silver Screen." You'll enjoy them.
This game was okay, and I've played plenty of them! The main problem is that it is not intuitive at all. The story doesn't make a lot of sense, so I had to use hints in order to have some idea of what to do next. In addition, there is no map for transporting, and the player has to do a LOT of scurrying back and forth for one item at a time to use. Upstairs, downstairs, out in back, upstairs to a different room, downstairs...you get the idea. After a while, I found myself hoping that the game was nearly over. This doesn't happen much, but I was certainly getting bored. Luckily, I used a coupon for a free game on this one. Try it, but be aware that the trial hour is not representative of the entire game. Maybe the CE version is better, but I doubt it.

No, he can't. He can just murder them. The game was on a par with the others from this company, even a little better. Someone should point out that some words cannot take the place of others: An ally is someone who is an associate or confederate; it is not a lane behind buildings. A clam is a marine bivalve, and it is not usually used to attach wires to metal grates. To broach is to break or open up; ie. to broach the subject. It isn't a piece of jewelry that a lady pins on her dress. Oh well, picky, picky. The main irritant in this game is the fact that I solved the turtle & hare puzzle several times (even checked the walkthrough to make sure it was correct), but nothing happened. Ever. So I had to skip it. In all, it was a pleasant way to spend a very cold day indoors. Try it, if you aren't the grammar police.

I bought the CE version of this game and I found it interesting and fun (well, as much as a game about soul-stealing can be called "fun"). I generally prefer lighter subjects, but sometimes a dark story is a good change. Maybe it's that I grew up pre-computer games and I enjoyed reading. By the way, I didn't find the CE "jerky" on my pc. You should try this game.

This is the third Exorcist game, and I was somewhat disappointed. Many of the hints don't make sense in the context of the game, especially in the underground cavern. There seems to be a lag between what you see and what is described. You are told to use the water bucket on a rock fissure, when you have previously used the bucket and the situation calls for a pickaxe. Or, a body dangles from the ceiling and the game says this is where you use the bunny; the bunny is described as a dead explorer. Oh well, we all make mistrakes! Also, it is irritating when the character is speaking and the caption shows a very different sentence. On the plus side, most of the hidden objects are described correctly, which is not always the case in some of these games. Over all, this game was pretty boring. It didn't stop me from purchasing a while back, but there are better games.
Just finished The Curse of the Werewolves, after getting it as a BOGO game, and it was pretty good. Grandma is missing, there is a werewolf statue in the yard, and the house is a terrible mess. Grandma apparently gave up housekeeping long ago. Oh yes, there are a few bodies strewn around, but not to worry. Granddaughter finally finds Grandma, who gives a simplistic explanation and the two walk off into the sunset. The game is fairly easy, although not everything you must do is obvious. HO scenes are pretty dark and items are small; if this is not your first HO game, you will know what to do. And the bodies in the house and yard? Well, let the dead bury the dead, I guess.

Just got the SE version of this game with a free game coupon. I've played some of the other games in the series, and enjoyed them. The puzzles in this one were not too hard for me, except the rings in Chernobyl. I am impatient, and I just didn't want to take the time to figure it out. Also appealing was the fact that you don't have to traipse back and forth as much as in some other games. This was fun for me, but it might be too easy for expert players to enjoy.
I recommend this game!

Full disclosure: I'm a grandma, and I grew up listening to Elvis. Never cared much for the Beatles. Whenever I think of Elvis (not too often), I remember the young Elvis, not the bloated, drugged-out one. Back to the game: I played only the trial, and I enjoyed the short clip of Elvis in the snow in front of his home. The music was unobtrusive, and not of Elvis' singing, so there isn't much chance you will hum his songs the rest of the day. I found the graphics clear and not at all grainy, even in the aquarium scene. The games and HO scenes are easy to complete and the storyline is adequate. This is a good change from all the gross, monster-ridden games offered. I suggest you try this one if you are new to the genre.

The "hostess" of this game impedes your progress. The game has the possibility of being an amusing game, even teaching something, but the woman blocks every view, with endless and repetitive instructions. You cannot get rid of her by clicking...she just overstays her welcome! I quit after twenty very long minutes. I'm an impatient person. I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone. Read an art book; it would be much more entertaining.

I enjoy the "old fashioned" games, I guess. The graphics are clear, the drawings very good, not grainy or blurry to me, and I don't have the best eyesight. The hidden object scenes were not too difficult. Sure, the storyline is familiar, but this isn't supposed to be great literature. The reason some of the scenes have a grayish tone is because it is nighttime. The voiceovers were good and the music was okay. I don't listen to the music much when I'm playing these games, because it is distracting to me. I didn't find anything in the trial that was objectionable. This is a game that will go on my "to buy" list.
