It all depends on if you want a good storyline, cause this does not have one. Disjointed is putting it nicely. I am not referring to the fantasy aspect of it, i love fantasy stories. I am referring to the incomplete and dangling dialogs, and ending. For example, one character begged our heroine to find and tell his mother he was looking for her no less than 2 times. Our heroine not only found said mother but talked to her 3 times without once saying her son was looking for her. And why wasn't the mother leaving anyway? she was perfectly capable of doing so. This was just one of many character interactive problems that really ruined the story for me. The ending is very disappointing along these same lines. no closure, or for that matter no mention of any of the characters at all.
So, as i am recommending this game to those who do not care for decently written story lines, I did feel the game had a good length to it, puzzles and HO's were good, and the music was enjoyable. Just don't expect the character interactions and story to be very well done.
I recommend this game!

This was such an odd game. During the demo I almost gave up five minutes into it, but decided to keep going and then the storyline started to kick in and interest me. By the middle I thought "ok, 4 stars would do it justice". It has a nice long playing time, that's with taking one's time looking around and exploring everything. Storyline kept me wanting to see what happened next. Mind you it is pure fantasy, things that just do not make any sense at all, but if you can just take it for the story, you're good to go. Puzzles are very different and unusual, be aware that very little info on how to solve them may cause some people to be very disgusted, and once, i was too, when there were no clues at all for solving a block puzzle that with random selection would take hours to hit the right combo. I had to cheat with a walkthrough which annoyed me greatly as it too just gave me the solution but no info on where they got the info to solve it. That being said; mostly they were way too easy once you knew what was needed.
I did find the music very enjoyable, and the way the HOS were set up were varied and original.
The three stars are for the ending, which felt incomplete, wanting, and therefore very disappointing. Yes i recommended this game, would I buy it knowing the ending as I do? Probably, because up until that point it was an OK game. But i would still be upset about it.
I recommend this game!

Almost gave it three stars, but just couldn't bring myself to do it. I love fantasy based games, but this one had such a poorly written story line that after 2 hours it just didn't appeal anymore. I liked the demo enough to buy it as I like to give games a chance, but I am glad it was on a weekend sale and not full price, I do not recommend buying this one at full CE price, if you want to take a chance after the demo then wait for a sale.
The puzzles were many, but quite a lot of them were the same solving procedure albeit under the guise of different faces (i.e. numbers, pictures, etc). There was a nice mixture of way too easy, to totally absurdly hard. Some didn't belong in the game at all (like the first rainbow themed one) since they outright gave you the solution before even playing it, because many people would not know the "cheat" in order to remember the colors of the rainbow.
As a final note and probably more my personal preference, I did not like the fact the Margaret screamed each time a soul was returned to her, quite unnecessary and the three-headed animals were very disturbing to view. I am playing a game, not watching a horror film. I am sorry i purchased this game, I am hitting the recommend No button, but will recommend it for those who like poor dialog and terrible puzzles,
I don't recommend this game.

I can't recall anytime in the past that I have given such a bad review for a game that I only tried the demo for. In fact this was so bad I felt I Had to submit a review in order to help warn those who buy games without trying the demo version first. Honestly, the worst part about this game is the awful sentence structure. Please Devs, if you want to sell a game in America, please please have someone go through your dialog that can correct errors. I usually do not mind one or two, heck anyone can make mistakes, but the incorrect sentence structure is constant and quite off-putting. This game was included in a bundle offer today, after trying this game i had no inclination to try the other two, nor buy the series. Not fair BF for trying to hide this horrible game within the package deal... no it's not even worth the $3 and change.
I don't recommend this game.

Having never played the other game others have mentioned here, I was new to this type of game and found it very odd. It had potential to be quite a unique game but was not fully developed. I played the demo and only 40mins of that. There are no instructions, I like that type of game, but not everyone will. Voices are annoying. The concept had so much potential but really fell short, it was like the devs rushed thru the content to get it out on the market. Not one I would put money into.
I don't recommend this game.

Yes the graphics are cartoon-y, but i enjoy that type of game once in awhile. Yes the game play can be symplistic, but I get tired of the dark, gloomy HOGs. It's a fun little game, puzzles are unique in design of the favorites, and yet just a little different. I did like the storyline, I thought it was original aside from what other negative reviewers stated. I liked this game and applaud the Devs for trying something different and would love to see more. Bottom line, yes you have to be in the mood for this game type, but if you are, it is worth the buy.
I recommend this game!

So disappointed in Blue Tea for this abomination. Developmental quality very low. Storyline horrible and graphics bad at best. I loved the previous games from this company and bought this on my trust of their standards alone. Learned my lesson didn't I? I even got this on the recently past 2 for one Memorial day sale, and i still feel "taken". Never again Blue Tea, my trust is broken. I gave it one star just so i could post a review, it is not even worth that. Don't waste your money. Read the forum posts for more info, don't understand why reviewers here gave it such high ratings.
I don't recommend this game.

Well first off, as i have stated in my reviews of the previous 2 Blackwell games, these are just the best single-player games I have bought this year. That being said, the game obviously only appeals to a certain group of players. Those that don't want things "handed" to them. i.e. ="locked door, go across room, move picture, find key, back to door open, proceed" You need to think in this game, immerse yourself into the Story, not the graphics nor most of the voice-overs, they are very rough, retro. Get into the Story, ask questions, compare notes in the notebook, talk to everyone, ask the same question several times, you may have missed something, Oh and even Really write stuff down in your own real-life notebook to help figure out what to do next. Use the phone book. This is not hard everyone, just different than how most are used to playing. Thank you Wadjet Eye games, please don't leave us hanging, yes each game does have an ending, but there are so many other questions left open, I'd like to see you bring the story around to it's true finality.
I recommend this game!

Totally agree with the other 2 previous 5 star reviewers. This series of Blackwell games (the first 2 , i just bought the "unbound" now and will play soon) are the best single-player games i have bought this year. It goes to show that the "retro" look and feel of the game does not matter when you build in an engrossing storyline. The voice-overs are a little better this time but they grow on you, so it did not take away from the immersion factor for me. The story was just that good. For those considering buying this game make sure you play the Blackwell Legacy first, it is better for understanding the flow of the story. I love the risk these developers took making this game and its predecessor, Good work guys! Please don't stop.
I recommend this game!

I have never ever given 5 stars to any game on this site before. These stars encompass both of the games i have completed to date. (i have not looked at the "unbound" game that goes back in time yet.) If you only judge a game of worth because of the graphics, uninspiring voice-overs and how much reading you have to do, then you are not interested in the immersion the developers have put into this game and its second sequel. This is the best single-player game i have bought this year. The other reviews will tell you how this game is played and what to expect, i just wanted to let you know that if you are willing to take a chance; more interested in playing a game that has a developing, captivating Story, then give this game a try. It will pull you in. Kudos to the developers, please don't stop.
Oh, btw, those of you who do play this game and the sequel...don't forget to watch thru All the credits! :)
I recommend this game!
