The residents of Bitterford, Maine have fallen prey to a terrible curse. It’s up to you to unravel the series of mysterious events that led to the town’s downfall and uncover the evil that was responsible.
First off, would like to wish Nilosh a happy birthday!
This game is ok, but it seems another company has taken over making the MCF games. This one is more like Dire Grove - but it ends there. Story line seems to be ok, but what is up with that SG? It took me almost the entire demo to figure it out, and when it did, I only got as far as jumping the map to the prison. The VO don't match the actor's mouth movement, not for me, anyway. The graphics are ok, not on the order of Return to Ravehearst or Dire Grove, but then again, I didn't get much past the motel, so really can't judge based on that. The idea I get from the description is Cassandra is a new Detective, and she's actually a psychic. I will probably buy this game simply because I have most of the rest - but the quality of this game leaves a lot to be desired, and certainly not what we have to come expect from a really good CE
I recommend this game!

Unfinished Tales: Illicit Love Collector's Edition
After the Raven Queen crashes her wedding, Thumbelina must save her prince to reclaim her happy ending!
I bought this game w/o even looking at it, based upon Kiandi's review! SO glad I did! I love it! Way to go devs!
Has map - you can jump from location to location Hint button refills fairly quickly Collect butterflies! Puzzles new and unique from what I have seen in short amount of play time Hall of Seasons - AWESOME!!!! Graphics are beautiful Environmental Sound - great Music - relaxing Story line - you are Thumbelina (who doesn't like Thumbelina?) and the prince you are marrying gets snatched by an evil witch (the prince jilted her!) and she ruins their wedding! Every girl's nightmare! Oh my! All in all, this looks like a really fun game with lots of features, and all this discovered within minutes of playing! A very lucky "sight unseen" buy for me!
These devs continue to deliver games with that WOW factor! Everything in this game was beautiful to behold, and I was soooo very glad they kept Elf in it, too! One of the really great new features was the morphing creatures guide that instructed what each creature was, and what it could do! That was awesome! The graphics, of course, are amazing. The VO and people doing the talking didn't match, and that was a big letdown for me, as the previous games in the series were better; but that wasn't a deal breaker for me. The music did get on my nerves a little, but then, I really haven't found a game whose music didn't get on my nerves - I just mute it. The HOS had just the right amount of challenge, but I thought the mini-games were fairly easy. The "hint" frog takes a good little while to recharge, but the frog is most helpful, letting you know exactly what needs to be done. The new feature for Elf - you get to collect coins to spend on him in the "pet store"! The game has a really great interactive map, with different levels, and you get to "jump" between scenes; and the game includes a journal and integrated SG.
I was a little disappointed, it seemed like the game was a bit short, and the bonus chapter included what, I assume, the next game is about. That was kind of exciting! I didn't think this game was as good as some of the past ones in this series, but that doesn't mean I didn't buy it, I did; and I do recommend it to others, but some may feel like they might want to wait for the SE
Explore the vastness of a ship lost in time, what mysteries will you uncover amidst its Mayan idols, menacing sea creatures, and exotic treasures? Find out in this exciting new Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure game on the open seas!
Wow!!!!! This game has it all! 4 modes of play - casual, normal, hard core AND custom; you can also switch modes while playing - awesome! Graphics are gorgeous! Very colorful, full of Mayan figures; VO are excellent, HOS well-defined. Challenge level of game is great. There are achievements to be had AND morphing objects, which I love. The music goes along with theme of game very well. It also has VO, environment sound, and effects sound. Has an interactive map that lets you jump from location to location. Story line is awesome, you are shipwrecked when another ship comes out of the thick fog and hits yours. The mystery deepens as you begin to realize nothing on the "ghost" ship is from modern times. I only played 22 minutes of demo, but I know I am going to purchase this game! This game is chocked full of things to do, collect and see. You must try it for yourself to see how the devs brought this game to us full of wow factor - haven't seen one this good in a while! Definitely recommend trying it out, at the very least; and looks like it's well worth the CE purchase price - I will buy anyway!
Who doesn't love elves, dwarves, mermaids and an evil wizard?
This solitaire game was awesome - you have to save Emerland from the evil wizard; and you gain assistance from various characters with magical powers along the way!
The graphics are stunning, VO great, great plot, great evil guy (and really ugly too!). The level of challenge increases as you complete levels - you get money to spend in the store, you gain in all as you progress. The lands are quite beautiful, from the wizard school in the beginning, to the human, elf, dwarf, and mermaid lands along your path.
Liked everything about this game, and so glad I bought it!
Graphics are crisp and beautiful! Music is annoying, but I usually just mute it anyway. The sound effects are not unpleasant to the ears.
No map, no VO; however the HOS are a bit challenging, and in some of them, you really have to look - I loved these! Also, the HOS are not interactive. Mini puzzles are not really brain-bending, but they do present a little challenge. There is little hand-holding in this game, but the hint button will tell you there is nothing to do in the scenes; and sometimes you have backtrack to get a second HOS from a previous scene.
All in all, I found this a very refreshing game, especially considering some of the new ones lately.
You know, the first 2 games in this series were great - these last 2, not so good! I am extremely disappointed with this one however.
While the graphics were as good as usual, Boom Zap should have ended this quest to find Sophia's parents already! Now, it just seems the devs are stretching this out for every penny they can get, and the games are not living up to the quality of the first 2 games.
First, let me say, the strategy guide is a joke, and I really resent paying for a CE with a strategy guide that is less than helpful. Then, there is the fact that you have to resort to USING the strategy guide as often as I did while playing this game. Since I purchased it, I made myself play the entire game, including the Bonus - a serious waste of time and money! And then, once again, the devs have decided to add another sequel: Get it over already, it has become a giant bore!
A lot of the minigames are ridiculously easy, and the rest make no sense at all - so you're forced to just skip them out of frustration!
There are not a lot of HOS, which I like, and they could have put in more than what they did as far as I am concerned. Directions on where to go and what to do next were spotty at best; and there was not really anything to tie the whole adventure aspect of the game together.
I play the first 2 games in this series over and over - the last 2 are like nightmares I would like to forget!
I do not recommend purchasing this CE or indeed, the SE when it comes out - especially as without the sorry strategy guide, I cannot imagine how buyers of the SE will progress!
Travel from the deepest trenches of the Atlantic Ocean to the awe-inspiring wonders of Mars as you solve the greatest archeological puzzle known to man: the origin of Atlantis.
Honestly, what was not to love about this game? Graphics were beautiful, cut scenes were well done, HOS were junk piles, but not so difficult, and indeed, even the minigames were not overly difficult.
As an archaelogist/linquist you have drowned while exploring Atlantis; only to be put into cryo and saved 150 years later. You go to Mars where your expertise is needed, and it's a deserted section that was being explored - and there's no explanation why no one else is around!
Some of this story gave me the creeps, while most of it fascinated me! Who wouldn't give their right arm to be able to explore a planet?
The beginning of the game was a bit confusing, but things were explained later on while collecting the different information tablets.
The hint and skip buttons refill quickly, and there is an interactive map, which thank goodness, you can use to go from one area to another; otherwise, the backtracking would be murderous!
The story line is really great too. As you get further and further into the game, more becomes clear about what happened to the others that were there conducting scientific research.
This game is really long, and well worth the money for the CE; but if you're one who likes to wait for the SE, get it immediately as soon as it's available! Even if you're not a science kind of person, I think you will enjoy this sci-fi thriller! This will be one of the games I play again and again!!
Wow! This Surface game was soooo much better than the first one! Loved it!
Graphics are fantastic, VO are really great, and level of challenge for minigames was outstanding! New and different minigames - had to skip a few, but will go back to play them again. HOS were not too much of a challenge, but it was kind of refreshing to be able to find everything so fast!
You get to collect flowers to spend in the store, to furnish and decorate your "office"; and for once, the devs continued the flower collection in the bonus game, which I absolutely loved. I hate it when you collect morphing objects, etc., and there's no chance to continue that in the bonus game.
Story line was awesome; you are a psychic who delves into the mind of a young who may or may not have committed a crime, and you have to save her from her split personality. The cut scenes were well done, and the bonus game is a continuation of our story; and ends well - again, for once, it didn't feel like the devs just threw the ending in there.
A very well thought out and put together game - well worth the money for the CE.
