At first I really liked this game - even the simple mini-games - but they continue throughout the game. Find an item & place it where it belongs.... Find an item & place in the picture where it belongs.... That part just became soooooo boring. The rest of game is good but too many mini-games interrupt so you can activate the magic ball, etc. At least it is NOT a dark gloomy game..
Some people like this type game - especially kids...
Was a fun game. Nothing ghostly, dark, or evil monsters, etc. I did use Hint more than I prefer - but that may have just been my fault.
But it is worth purchasing & playing especially if you get tired of all those evil dark videos. - There is the man who wants control - but nothing bad happens until he passes out at the end.
I will state that there are several mini-games where I could NOT skip - despite there being a skip button. So I was either bored with some or so challenged that I had to check out the Walk-Through - but even the Walk-through directions were not specific enough sometimes so I did have to Use My Brain..........
But overall, I did get past those mini-games & enjoyed the complete game.
Beautiful pictures/graphics with a change in your typical HOG scenes. There is some going from screen to screen but that is where the Map is so very helpful, especially when you forget where a certain item should go.
The map may not show you the exact location to go but it does show the locations that need something to be done.
I enjoyed this game and I believe I have all of the Dark Parable games.
This game has so many new type hidden object areas & I could click Hint if needed - but didn't use much.
I enjoyed the mini-games even though usually they were hard & didn't know what to do next. Unfortunately I had to skip because there was no hint for that part. This part would be better if they had a Hint for various areas (not just the info) - so I could continue instead of having to completely skip it. The developers did a lot of work to create all these different things/games you have to do - but a decent hint would work in those places.
Otherwise you do have Hints you can use. When you complete a room, you go to another room & may have to go back to that room. In the beginning that is just typical playing. But it did get rather annoying toward the ending because you have to go from room to room to room to room just to get 1 item or place an item. The Best part of that is they have the Map you can use to go from room to room & it shows you Where you need to go.
Even though there is some eery (spelling) rooms but even the darker areas didn't stay that way for long. (I personally do not like the really dark-type & was afraid this was one of them - but it wasn't)
[To make it even better - perhaps more rooms we've not seen - even if we had to return to previous rooms - and to add more help on the mini-games because I wanted to finish them but when I got stuck, I had to skip.]
But Overall, it was well worth my time & was fun while it made me think, consider, find. - And most wasn't very easy.
I love Christmas and this is a HOG game - so fun fun fun. This is Not as easy as some may think. Some objects are hard to find, some aren't real clear, some may be too small. But I wear reading glasses & in my 60s and I'm still enjoying this game.
And while you are trying to find the HOG items, you are also suppose to find & click on candy canes and about 3 each game of the 12 Days of Christmas items showed in shadow on the left side. So you are busy trying to find 3 different groups of things. Just adds to the uniqueness and fun factor.
There is also a Hint (for one item) and the Mega Hint which will highlight all the items you haven't found yet.
Plus after each scene you are given a mini-game - so far all are different. If you don't want to play it, just wait & you can skip it. (I still about 8 more days (scenes) to play & just had to give my review.)
A strange and deadly pollen is spreading around the world, and you’ve been hired to track down its source. But the secrets you discover in the fabled kingdom of Floralia are much darker than you imagined...
Even though it has a 'wicked, gloomy' things going on - The screens are never the dark, gloomy scenes that so many games have - & which I don't like playing.
The colors are great & I enjoy putting together / finding items that are put together to create a needed larger item. And they are all beautiful.
I will admit there was a repetition of the mini game-types that I didn't really care much for - so I just skipped most. But they didn't take away from my enjoying playing.
As for the sound, I don't know because I seldom listen - mostly habit because I'm usually in a room with others & is just more considerate.
This game had a gloomy story with a dog & people turning into werewolves but the game & the pictures and all the colors were NOT gloomy looking. Thankfully, there were No dark gloomy areas which I don't like. I did have to check the walk-through twice to figure out why something wasn't working but other than that, I had not help.
I believe I have all of the Shadow Wolf Mysteries - true some are better than others but I've enjoyed them all.
I have the full game, played on my laptop. Loved, Loved, Loved it. At first I wasn't sure if I would but grew to love playing it.
Was not one of those Dark, Gloomy witches & goblins kind of game. It is definitely different that the newer games but I never grew tired of it and I keep wanting to find games that are as good as this one.
I have many games but I never want to play them again. With Syberia I wait awhile then play again. Some things I remember what to do but many areas I don't remember - almost like a new game.
