This is older & slower than those today but what a fantastic trip. I purchased mine in 2012 and have played again every 1-2 years. You go on a trip with Kate as she tries to get a signature for her boos to buy the factory, almost like reading a book except you are experiencing what she is going through. You can easily get 'lost' into this fantasy land.
Beautiful graphics of a prehistoric era. Yes, there can be some 'dizziness' if you do not control your cursor. The first game I played like this took me 3-4 times (just getting started) to finally determine how to handle it.
The puzzles were interesting and do get you mind working - but many will take so long that you really need to use a walkthrough. And that is the problem with so many of these adventure games, you really need to use a walkthrough -unless you want to wander around & have to keep going back to pickup something OR spend forever figuring out a puzzle.
But overall it was interesting even while using a walkthrough (which I had to print out).
(could only put one game for favorite but ALL Syberia is my favorite, not just part 1)
I recommend this game!

Dreampath: Curse of the Swamps
A mystical rain is turning everyone into frogs! It's up to you to find the cause of this wicked weather and save your loved ones.
My favorite item is the Beautiful Graphics / Pictures. No gloomy dark scary areas. This game only has a 2-3 (sorry, did not count) of the usual HOS. These you find parts then you may need to find where to put something- you may still need to do a 3rd thing on that one HOS. Mini-games - some I didn't want to complete 'cause were taking too long so I skipped - but overall I really enjoyed these mini-games. So overall, you should enjoy this game. And I will repeat - i really enjoyed all the colors / graphics / pictures. I am very tired of those gloomy dark games. I prefer games that make me feel good while playing & after I finish.
The mystical Silver Arrow has been stolen from you on the eve of your wedding. Without it, you can’t marry your beloved Prince Philip! Can you track down the arrow in time?
the beautiful graphics and artwork is what actually draws me to play a game. I get so bored with the dark, gloomy, ugly in other games. That said, this was a fun game. You have a 'furby' friend that will interpret what the animals say. And you have a Map that shows where you are, areas you have completed and areas that still have work to be done - this definitely will help especially when you get tired of going back & forth, etc. - With the map you don't have this problem as you can click to go where you want to go. I love games with this type Map. -- And you of course, have the Hints when needed. -- A few HOS areas you have seen before - but you have to find other type items which makes it all ok. - And I will repeat, I love games with Beautiful Graphics, they just help keep me happy while having fun!
Beautiful graphics - thankfully not one of those games with all those gloomy, dark scenes. -ugh!
There are a nice amount of things to do and the HOGS are nothing like I've seen before & so much more fun - Makes me think....
There isn't all that going back & forth for just one item - basically just 1 to 3 scenes/locations at a time which makes this game so much more enjoyable to play.
If you like 'thinking' and playing the various fun games -finding, etc. - you will greatly enjoy this game.
There is one thing that irritates me sometimes - when I want to go to the previous scene, I have to move my cursor very slowly for the cursor to change to the Down arrow.
2nd thing - just remembered - occasionally you have to put an item Exactly in the place it should go otherwise it goes back & you have to remember to re-try elsewhere.
While playing you go between the 2 characters. The Graphics were bright & colorful and not the dark, gloomy scenes like so many games have (& which I don't like nor play)
The Hogs were different and not always the same. Sometimes you click on an item & it is the item behind it that you need. Sometimes you find items to put together what is required - which makes it more interesting. Plus if you don't want to do the HOG, you can play Match 3. And there is map which is extremely helpful.
Overall very enjoyable and as always - the good defeats the bad.
Nothing wrong with the graphics. Was different than a lot of games - Overall the story was basically ok yet nothing there to appeal to me. So I kept hitting Hint. Plus the book kept sparkling & when I clicked I really didn't learn anything to help me along. Plus when in a HOG, it was hard to unclick something to try another item. Have to keep clicking to get rid of it sometimes.
I ended up using Hint all the time. There were interesting HOGS that made me think but there really didn't seem to be much of a story - sure there were areas that told you of the story & where / what you needed to do but the what to do, etc. caused me to click Hint so much because nothing really went toward the story. Some may like this and I gave this a 3 start only because the graphics were really nice and even the parts that might be gloomy - the pictures never were 'gloomy' - all was bright & pretty.
1st - the HOs & other areas you had to click on the exact spot- if not, you have to keep trying. 2nd - I should have known better - too much darkness, witch/devil type story & why I didn't listen to the audio.
The good part, there is a map that will show you where there is an open action/job to do & you can click on that & it will take you to that location.
All you do is match the numbers on the cards = 2 Fives or 2 sevens, etc. You win rewards, etc. and you go from one set to another but I was totally bored. And not what I would call a solitaire game.
