I was pulled in by the story during the demo that I just had to get the game. Once in the main area where most of the game is played it became formulaic and the graphics phased into a real-life animation style which for me seems a little grainy and lazy. The story really was interesting but some of it had to have been lost in translation as it didn't always make sense and the real-life character actors were way over the top. I began to use the hint button a good deal just to get through it. Though I wouldn't say it's a bad game it just wasn't what I had hoped for from Elephant. I missed the beautiful artistry and the magical moments that were spoken of but never delivered on.

Everyone seems to be comparing this game to Royal Envoy or My Kingdom for The Princess which it really isn't. This is exactly like The Golden Years: Way Out West. Of course the story line in the later was much, much better. The game play at the beginning was almost too simple and I was worried that it was a dumbed-down version of TGY. Assuming that the developers wanted to make darn sure the premise of how to play was understood because it got hard, very hard, further on. The instructions are no longer precise and you have to figure out for yourself the best way to complete the level in the quickest time. This is where it gets really fun. Strategy and city planning galore. I was disappointed in the story-line as it could've been much better and the attempt at humor fell very short, but if you can over-look that it really is a fun game to play. Strategically harder than The Golden Years. Juggling getting food, gems, and wood which all are used to build different structures that are needed. I'm currently stuck on a level and will be looking for strategy tips as soon as they're available. Worth a buy to at least get a break from the same 'ol HOG's over and over.
I recommend this game!

Shame as it seemed like it would've been an interesting story. Did not read a single review that stated that there was the jump-out-and-scare-the-crude-out-of-you factor in the game. I truly loath those story lines. I played for less than ten minutes and I know that it seems like I could not give an accurate review in that time but I can say for sure that I did not enjoy it. The game did seem to flow relatively easy enough and wasn't frustrating in figuring out what to do. There was a good deal of HO scenes right away and I assume would continue that way. I'm more of an adventure gal and though I do not mind an occasional HOS I'm not big on 5 or more within the first 5 minutes. The music was melancholy with an eerie undertone which I turned down. The graphics were more of a soft painted style and not as crisp as some I've seen. The VO were decent enough but mostly from ghosts and before I turned the volume down seemed tunnel like, which I'm sure was the intention. There was a lot of pop-up instructional screens which I assume was for the easy mode. I did not do the tutorial so it was just part of the normal game play. It was helpful but within a few minutes became frustrating as it abruptly stop any action you were attempting to do. Over all I'm sure some will really like this game but for those that do not like the darker games this might not be the one for you.
I don't recommend this game.

I enjoy casual games to get lost in the story line with a relatively easy stress less adventure. I always play on the casual setting but even in the easiest mode this game was difficult for me. I used the hint button way more than I ever had and even skipped a couple puzzles. I really enjoyed the story line immensely and would've played simply for that alone. There was a gratuitous amount of hopping back-n-forth from scene to scene. The movement was easy enough with the map but it became tedious after awhile. The game was long and didn't end abruptly but wrapped up nicely and thoroughly. I'm simplistic in my fun and would recommend this game for the more serious player.

Though some have said that the game play was redundant or there were issues playing on Mac I truly love Elephant games. The artistry is perfection and the story was intriguing. The plot was somewhat more twisted and dark than I prefer, but I enjoyed the demo thoroughly and bought the game straight away. The story-line flowed easily and the movement between scenes was simple enough to not become frustrated at what to do next. I quite enjoy the HOS where you place the object instead of find it, though it might not be everyone's preference. This seems to give a new element to the game instead of the same 'ol boring seek and find HOS. The game play has mostly been done before but it works and I'll keep playing Elephant games as long as they keep developing some of the best games on Big Fish.
I recommend this game!

I downloaded this game on a whim and love that I did! At its core its a time management game but so unique that it never gets repetitive. It has a building and decorating aspect to it that I haven't seen in any other game. The basic premise is to dig cemetery plots, decorate the plot according to the level and how much money you have, then engrave the name on the headstone and the funeral begins. As you increase in level more of the map opens up. The only slightly annoying element is the would-be girlfriend that calls every few days to complain in a very high pitched shrill voice. You can quickly click past it though or simply turn the sound off. The graphics are not the latest so it isn't as crisp as some of the newer games out now but still good and much better than some I've seen on more recent games. There is much to interact with and the play never gets boring. For a game centered around a graveyard it is one of the better games I've played from BG. Must try!

I have all of the awakening games and love each one just as much as the previous one. This was one of my first introductions to adventure based gaming and this series sets the bar high. The graphics are beautiful and the storyline is sweetly charming but very captivating to where even my rough 'n tough husband was peeking over my shoulder helping me out. Though I read in a few other reviews that the game play is more childish in nature some of the puzzles are quite difficult and is best for ages tween to adult. Even though the game play at times is pretty basic it never gets boring. You move from room to room completing tasks and finding objects that help you on your way out of the castle. Most of the game play is centered around finding objects (not in a HO scene) that help in solving puzzles and completing "mini-games" to get to the next task. This is a must try and worth every penny to buy!

I really enjoy interactive adventure games and this one certainly fits the bill. The graphics are sharp and cartoonish, the storyline is unique and interesting, and the music is calming but may get repetitive to which you can turn it off. The basic premise is to find objects that will open new areas to explore. There is a sim element to the game and you will need to keep up with rudimentary needs like hunger, rest, and fun. It isn't over tasking though and simple to maintain. You have two characters in which to play simultaneously with for tasks that are geared towards one or the others strengths. The game controls are somewhat annoying as it is easy to accidentally click on objects you've already clicked on but it isn't major. The map seems to be relatively large but I haven't completed the game as of yet. Over three hours into the game and it seems like I'm still just getting started. Some tasks are not that easy to figure out but the hint button is regenerated by finding doggy treats and there are tons of them just laying around. The crisp graphics makes for easy searching even for small objects. There is no HO scenes in the game as it is all search in world for single objects or ones to combine. All in all this is actually a very fun game despite some of the unfavorable reviews. It is certainly worth the investment of one free hour!
I recommend this game!

For the most part this is strictly HO. The scenes are fairly well put together as there isn't a lot of nonsense out-of-place objects but I was using the hint button way too often as some of the objects were blended into the background to the point of unrecognizable or very small. I wasn't a particular fan of this game as it seemed like more work than fun so I passed after about 5 minutes of hunt and peck. The extra elements or mini games were unique just the regular game play was less adventure and more find-extremely-well-hidden-objects-with-so-so-slightly-blurry-graphics.

Charlaine Harris: Dying for Daylight
Enter a vampire world as Dahlia, a vampire with a fantastic sense of fashion and a razor-sharp wit! Find the legendary sun potion!
It's obvious this game was expertly scripted and well thought-out. The only shame is that it ends half way through. The first four chapters are decently long and have good play value I did finish it in about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. There were a few things that I got stuck on but I'm impatient and not great with the super hidden or make a wild guess elements. Ex. mannequin head. The main character is wonderfully sarcastic and witty which makes clicking on different objects fun just to see what she'll say. Graphics are good, music is good, but needs the next four chapters desperately!
